Chapter Text

Stupid.

A really, fucking stupid thing to do.

Sasuke knows that he shouldn’t be here, that he should turn on the spot and run back to his room in the dormitory, lock the door and knock that dumb idea out of his head. But his feet are dragging him in the wrong direction, towards the cabins where the whole basketball team collects money for charity this week. Kiba, one of the players, organized the fundraiser because the shelter his mother works in had been cluttered with dozens of sick puppies somebody tried to illegally bring into the country and they need a lot of money to nurse them back to health.

The headmaster is known for his love for stray dogs, so it wasn’t a big problem to convince him about the idea.

Yeah.

So Sasuke is going to give his money to the basketball team, and it is not entirely for his own selfish reasons. He is going to help some sweet puppies survive, that should suffice for bringing some points back on his karma account, huh?

Sasuke sighs, looking at the closed door in front of him.

He could go home now. He should

Today is friday which means it is Sasuke’s last chance to walk in and get it over with though. The basketball team will close up the cabins in under an hour and if Sasuke hasn’t found the balls to walk in there, he will regret it for the rest of his miserable life.

5 dollars for 5 kisses — complete anonymity guaranteed! reads the sign over the door.

Yeah. Right.

They decided it would be a great idea to exchange their spit with strangers desperately enough to pay for getting the chance to kiss the basketball team while they were being blindfolded. And they were absolutely right with that. It is a great idea. The people flocked in front of  their doors like a swarm of mosquitos ready to suck them dry as soon as they opened the cabins on Monday morning. He has even seen people going in and out of here more than once.

He wouldn’t even be here if things weren’t slowly moving out of control and making him lose his goddamn mind. It had started so slowly Sasuke hadn’t even realized what hell he had found himself in until it was too late. Of course he had been vaguely aware of Naruto’s existence even before, they share a few classes after all and the other one can’t shut his mouth for longer than five minutes straight even if his life depends on it, Sasuke is sure. Naruto is always telling a joke, giving his opinion to the class, laughing—but Sasuke used to ignore his dumb face as best as possible.

Until Naruto bumped into him one day because one of his stupid friends yelled something at him and Sasuke’s books were scattered all over the floor. Naruto had immediately apologized, babbling about things Sasuke hadn’t even listened to and then their fingers had brushed, ever so slightly, when Naruto gave him back his books; it had felt like flashes dancing over his skin where they touched and then Naruto had smiled at him, with that stupid, lopsided smile that let Sasuke’s heart miss a beat and he had drowned in the depths of blue.

Sasuke had felt the way his cheeks filled with blood, insulted Naruto for his dumbness and stormed off before the other could react.

After that he always noticed that blond, messy thatch amongst all the other students—in the cafeteria, in the library, in the classes. Sometimes Naruto would speak to him, trying to make smalltalk and Sasuke wouldn’t have any of it. He would say something that made Naruto angry until he balled his fists and turned around—one time, when they were alone on the floor of the dormitory, Sasuke had pushed a bit too much and Naruto had snapped, shoving him against the wall. Sasuke had smelled the sweat on him and his knees had buckled a bit. Naruto had snarled and asked what the fuck his problem was—Sasuke had yelled back that he was the fucking problem—because he definitely was. Sasuke had panicked and punched Naruto in the face.

So they aren’t really on talking grounds right now. Which is good. It keeps Sasuke sane.

It doesn't really change how often he finds his thoughts drifting to brown, sun-kissed skin and ocean-blue eyes though. To those big, strong hands grabbing his waist, pressing him down and his mouth on his skin, leaving a trail of kisses, sucking on the junction between Sasuke’s neck and shoulder and—

and he really needs to know what a shitty kisser Naruto is in reality so he can finally stop fantasizing about him. That is it. That is the only reason why Sasuke is here.

He knows from Sakura who knows it from Hinata that Naruto is in the last cabin at the end of the hall behind that door. Hinata has never really talked to Naruto unless she is drunk enough she doesn’t stutter in his presence but she has the biggest, obvious crush on him Sasuke has ever seen. It is really pathetic.

She is responsible for probably half of the donation alone.

Oh. And Sakura is Sasuke’s girlfriend. Sasuke is gay. The thing is that he isn’t really interested in doing stuff with others as long as he hasn’t catched any sort of feeling and his mind momentarily only focuses on that certain blond jock. So, yeah, go figure. Sakura had been the easiest option.

They have known each other since grade school when both of them were put in the same class and ever since Sakura has followed him like a shadow. Her curiosity about him grew into something like obsession even though she doesn’t really know much about him. They could have been friends if she was really interested in him, Sasuke supposes.

He knows it is all about his looks. Ever since he hit puberty and has grown from a pouty, red cheeked boy into a young man people aren’t getting tired of telling him how handsome he is; he is getting confessed to at least once a month, his Instagram profile has over 300 message requests even though he barely posts anything and people try to kiss him on the few parties he goes to because his friends think he needs to socialize more.

So he did what everyone in his situation would have done—damage control. When Sakura confessed her undying love for him for the twentieth time and asked if he wanted to be her boyfriend with teary eyes and shiny lips, sticky from the lipgloss she put on, he had said yes. The news had spread like wildfire through the campus—she even insisted on linking his handle in her Instagram bio—and soon the people backed off.

They have been in a relationship for the last four months and most of the time Sakura is okay that they have only kissed so far or made out with a bit of groping if Sasuke was drunk enough. He really doesn’t like the lushness of a woman's body, how soft and fragile they feel under his fingers or the wetness between their legs. He knows that now for certain. At least he is grateful for the experience Sakura made possible.

Who knows how long Sakura will put up with him until she learns he isn’t going to sleep with her.

Whatever. He is here for different reasons.

Sasuke quickly scans the QR code on the poster sticking to the wall and transfers the money before he pushes the door open and walks with determination past the first few cabins—he isn’t interested in Naruto's dumb friends and he surely doesn’t want to kiss any of them—where he distinctly hears a girl giggling nervously, followed by a deeper laugh that belongs to Kiba Inuzuka if he isn’t mistaken.

He needs to slip into Naruto’s room before anyone sees him being here and rumors can spread. Just like the one time when Sasuke complimented one of the girls—he thinks her name was Ino—for her long, healthy hair that reminded him of his brother. Not specifically in color but in the way it was tended for. People still think he likes women with long hair. Sakura even grew her hair out, just for him. He liked her better when she wore it short.

Sasuke enters the room, quietly closing the door behind him and praying to all Gods that no one has seen him so far.

Then he stands there, staring at the captain of the basketball team, Naruto Uzumaki.

An ugly blindfold in the color of blinding orange is wrapped around his eyes and a few of his messy blond curls fall over it, like someone has recently ruffled his hair. Sasuke doesn’t try to think about other people who might have been here only a few minutes ago, pressing their filthy mouths on Naruto’s.

Naruto sits with his legs comfortably spread and he wears a white baggy jeans with cutouts on his knees, black Doc Martens with orange shoelaces and a black tank top that doesn’t hide a damn thing. Today is probably the hottest day of summer and it shows on Naruto’s skin, a silky sheen of sweat covering his arms and the area around his collarbone, letting the top stick to his chest.

“I can hear you breathing, you know?” Naruto chuckles, crossing his arms behind his head and the way his biceps shift under the motion lets Sasuke almost drool on the spot. Shit, why does he of all people have a thing for dumb blond jocks?

Sasuke quietly exhales through his nostrils and walks closer until he stops right in front of Naruto, looking down on him in this position. Naruto stupidly grins at him, his white teeth showing as his pretty lips stretch over them.

“You’re the last one stealing a kiss from me,” Naruto babbles on. “Like, not really stealing, heh. You paid for it. But you know what I mean, thanks for donating to the Konoha animal shelter. It really means a lot to all of our team.”

Nervousness crawls up Sasuke’s spin like a spider, sprawling out its cold fingers until it reaches his heart and lets the heaviness grow there like a flower. His hands begin to feel slightly damp and he closes his eyes, trying to calm down a little.

This is just Naruto. Stupid, annoying Naruto with his warm smile and blinding eyes, his strong, callous hands—

“Not much of a talker, are you?” Naruto laughs, his voice resonating through the room. “Come on now, claim your kiss.”

Sasuke’s gaze drops to Naruto’s mouth, a lopsided smile plastered on it, surrounded by a few of his freckles. His heart inside his ribcage jumps, then throbs faster.

Naruto bites his lip, looking amused.

Fuck it. He is going to do this.

Sasuke grabs Naruto’s collar and pushes their faces towards each other until their noses touch and their mouths press together. The kiss hurts a little because their teeths clash, sending a sharp pain through Sasuke’s head, but Naruto’s lips are soft and moving instantly against his, not complaining. Naruto smiles into the kiss, he can feel it brushing against his mouth, and he does not know how to handle that. Naruto was supposed to be bad at kissing so that Sasuke could finally forget about him but—but he isn’t.

This isn’t how it is supposed to go at all.

Sasuke lets go and takes a step back, ready to turn around.

“Wait,” Naruto stops him, licking his lips and leaning slightly forwards. “Kiss me again.”

Like on autopilot, Sasuke bows down again and tilts his head this time when he kisses him, opening his mouth a little. Naruto’s warm breath fawns over his lips, electrifying the synapses lying underneath and when his tongue darts out ever so slowly to taste more of Sasuke, a sound echoes through him. Sasuke’s eyes snap open—

Naruto sighs again, leaning more towards Sasuke to get them a little closer and that makes Sasuke feel a little proud of himself. Did Naruto really sigh just now because they are kissing? He is not going to forget this, ever, or the way Naruto smells slightly sweaty, mixed with his own unique scent, that makes Sasuke fantasize about licking every drop of salt from Naruto’s naked body.

Naruto breaks the kiss, catching his breath, and a thread of saliva links them for a second longer before it tears. Sasuke is sure their shared moment is over now with which he would be fine, he has enough material to jerk off to until his heart stops beating—then Naruto’s hands snatch around Sasuke’s waist, dragging him closer to steal yet another kiss from him.

This is too much, he knows, Naruto shouldn’t be touching him at all—but then Naruto takes his bottom lip into his mouth, sucks, bites down next; hard enough it sends another shiver through his body and his mind screeches to a halt.

He doesn’t know how long they stay like that, only pulling away to get enough air into their lungs to touch each other again. Sasuke is really, really uncomfortably hard inside his pants and ready to jump onto Naruto’s lap because he sees the clear tent forming between his legs too but then hot fingers dip under the hem of his shirt, the thumb circling over the skin of his hip bone, over the uneven tissue that formed over years into a bumpy scar—

and Sasuke snaps back to reality.

“Where are you going?” Naruto breathes, his lips shiny with saliva, and goes for the blindfold around his eyes.

Sasuke runs out of the room.
