Work Text:

Looking out the car window, Caelus curiously observes with his normally neutral expression, the urban landscape giving way to tropical trees and the concrete roads being replaced by dirt roads.

"Kafka, this is not the way to the hideout" Stating, his look shifts to the beautiful woman in front of him who is casually looking at her phone screen before looking up and smiling at him.

"I know, consider it an extra lesson we'll have" Closing her cellphone and breaking it in her hands before tossing the remnants out of the car window. As she observes the confusion in her face, a small laugh escapes her lips, bringing the back of her hand in front of the lips.

"Extra lesson? Is that why we're wearing this?" Caelus raises his hand, gesturing towards the unusual attire they are wearing.

Where he is wearing a simple white short-sleeved shirt and a black coat with a golden interior, paired with shorts and black flip-flops.

While Kafka is wearing a simple light purple sleeveless dress that accentuates her curvaceous body, which reaches halfway down her thighs, paired with purple flip-flops, and by her side is a long straw hat with her glasses on it.

"Missing your coat?" Raising an eyebrow,  Kafka's smile widening as she notices the slight shade of red on Caelus's cheeks, as he looks down at his hands.

"It's a gift from you." Shyly, his hands wander to the new coat, causing Kafka's expression to soften as she reaches her hand up to his chin, drawing his gaze towards her.

"What do you think of mine?" Caelus's blush intensifies as his eyes begin to roam almost hypnotically over her body.

The long legs, usually covered by the thin fabric, now showcase smooth, flawless creamy skin from the feet with purple-painted nails. His gaze slowly travels up the thick, well-toned thighs, only pausing for a moment at the shadow of her dress in between them.

Caelus's breath catches as his eyes continue their ascent, reaching the slender waist that accentuates the generous curves. Now, his eyes land on her large, firm breasts, barely restrained by two thin white straps of her dress that form an X, only concealing the view of Kafka’s modesty with a bow behind her neck.

His eyes then linger on Kafka's gentle smile, her soft lips adorned with a hint of pink lipstick, before finally meeting her gaze. Her eyes sparkle with amusement as she slowly redirects his attention to her legs, crossing them once again after a long moment of Caelus absorbing every detail of Kafka's eyes, more than anything else.

As if a spell were broken, Caelus averts his gaze, finally releasing his breath.

"I... like them. You look beautiful in any outfit" Closing his eyes for a moment to calm himself before reopening them to see Kafka smiling triumphantly, leaning against the armrest with her head resting in her hand and the other on her knee. Caelus has to restrain himself from once again getting lost in her beauty.

"You're always beautiful" Caelus adds in a low tone, almost in a whisper.

"Thank you, you're quite handsome," Now it's her turn to look at Caelus’s body, but nothing is revealed in her expression, her thoughts a secret known only to her. As their eyes meet once again, observing the nervousness emanating from him, Kafka slowly licks her lips "And quite adorable too.”

"U-uh, getting back to class, what would it be? Infiltration? We usually only change clothes when we really don't want to be seen" Caelus asks curiously as he leans forward in his seat, observing how the woman closes her eyes and lets out a sigh.

"Oh yes, it's not that kind of class, although things were much easier back in the day when I had the support of a team to manipulate cameras and records" Reopening her eyes and shaking her head as Kafka looks out the window, the sunlight begins to illuminate her face. Once again, Caelus loses his breath as he watches her.

"Unfortunately, it will take a while until we get someone to fill this job," Looking for a moment longer, Kafka's mood seems to improve as she moves her legs again "Do you remember what I taught you about the beach?"

Blinking for a moment at the confused question, Caelus tries to remember before nodding.

"Yes, you said it's a stretch of land covered in sand where there's access to the sea and people usually go there for leisure" Looking at Kafka, Caelus notices that she seems to be wanting something more. Biting his lip, he tries to remember, but he can't and clenches his hands, afraid of disappointing her.

"And they usually wear special clothes for the beach," Kafka adds, tilting her head slightly to the side, a patient smile on her face "Remember, dear, it's important to have the right clothes for each occasion."

"I understand..." Rising from her seat, Kafka sits beside him and puts her hands on Caelus’s shoulders. They tense up at the sudden contact, but Caelus doesn't pull away and slowly begins to relax.

"It's okay not to remember, it's part of today's special lesson because one thing is reading about a place in a story, but another," Kafka gestures to the window with her eyes “It’s experiencing, in your own story.”

Following her gaze, Caelus's eyes widen as he sees the scenery, now a beautiful beach with sand everywhere, surrounded by a shimmering sea as far as the eye can see with the bright sunlight painting countless colors across the sky and the sea.

So absorbed in the scenery before him, he barely notices when the car stops. Only snapping out of his trance when Kafka opens the door, stepping out of the car with a graceful turn of her heel, her hat now on her head, and extends her hand to him.

"Let's go, Caelus, it's showtime"  And with that her hair sways in the sea breeze, bringing the scent of her perfume mixed with the ocean to the normally stoic young man's face, which lights up as he reaches out his hand and grabs hers.

Dragging him onto the sand, Kafka releases his hand and tosses her flip-flops aside, feeling the soft sand beneath her own feet with Caelus soon following suit.

"So this is how it is" Looking at his feet, wiggling his toes to feel the sand more, before blinking and hearing Kafka's giggles.

“Aren’t you adorable little boy?~” Kafka closes her eyes “Or better yet, a beautiful beast?”

Kafka opens her arms as she begins to sway her hands in the direction of the sounds of the ocean, birds, and winds rustling through the leaves of the trees. Like a conductor leading her orchestra.

Observing this unique show, a blend of Kafka's beauty being enhanced by the surrounding nature and the gentle ocean breeze carrying her perfume to him, Caelus can do nothing but appreciate the spectacle. It comes to an end when Kafka places her hand on her chest and slightly lifts her skirt as she bows, earning applause from the young man.

"What a lovely audience" Kafka comments before beckoning him with a finger.

Understanding the hint, Caelus's smile widens as he lets out a chuckle of his own making before approaching Kafka and bowing to her.

“Could you do me the honor of a dance?" Extending his hand to her. Kafka hums as she takes his hand.

"My my, such a gentleman, how can I refuse?" They both take their positions with Caelus's hand on Kafka's waist and his other hand interlacing their fingers, and they begin to dance along the beach to a music only they can hear.

Caelus leans her back, holding her waist while her hands wrap around his neck, their faces draw closer and they can see each other's reflections in them.

In a swift move, Kafka slips out of Caelus's arms, grabbing his jacket with skillful agility that causes him to lose balance and fall onto the sand, while she puts on his coat, winking over her shoulder in return.

This elicits laughter from both of them as Kafka turns her back to Caelus.

"You know, there's a planet I go to every summer to look at the sea" She takes a few more steps, bringing them closer to the waters. As Caelus stands up, brushing the sand off himself, looking at Kafka curiously.

"That's when the tides are fiercest — you have to stand far away on the shore. Then, one year, they constructed a long observation pier" Stopping for a brief moment in memories, she clasps her hands behind her back as she walks until her feet enter the sea. She turns to Caelus.

"I haven't been back since"

Confused, Caelus walks up beside her, looking towards the sea where the sun is beginning to set on the horizon with a group of birds flying in the distance.

"Why?" The question naturally escapes his lips as Caelus’s eyes return to Kafka, unable to look away from the expression on her face.

"It lost its charm with the pier, you could observe peacefully without risks or surprises. All the observations would be without problems, and that's at least one of the reasons for it..." Her gaze becomes distant as she extends her hand towards the sun in the distance before lowering it and sighing.

"All space and time are practically infinite, and yet right here, right now, we find ourselves together. That's the nature of destiny — it creates a miracle but convinces you of an accident" Taking a strand of hair, she puts it behind her ear.

“Moments like this that will eventually disappear” Closing her eyes, Kafka takes another breath of the sea air, savoring the sound of the waters.

“We can try to change destiny but it is inevitable, at least...” Opening her eyes, Kafka looks at Caelus, her smile growing as she notices the discontentment on Caelus's face and the squeezing of his hands.

"That was supposed to be..." Kafka's voice came out in an inaudible whisper as she looked into Caelus's golden eyes.

"You don't like this" Kafka affirms as Caelus takes a deep breath and nods at her.

"I hate this — the idea of destiny that no matter my decisions it will end the same way without being able to explore other possibilities on my own," Caelus squeezes his hands as he looks directly into her eyes "It really annoys me."

Upon hearing this, a laugh escapes from Kafka's lips.

"Oh, I'm not mocking you, dear. It's just that..." Kafka reaches out, holding his hands and intertwining their fingers together "Following where your heart leads, ensuring the outcome of the story you desire with your will..."

Kafka’s smile softens as she leans closer, her lips brushing near against his.

"That's what I like about you" And so their lips meet in a chaste, gentle, and soft kiss that lasts for a moment that feels like an eternity before they separate with Kafka laughing at the sight of Caelus's reddened face and the way he affectionately squeezes her hands.

"We... can we go back to the beach someday?" Caelus asks softly as he brushes his thumb along the back of Kafka's hand.

"Yes, someday we will," Kafka replies, leaning her head against Caelus’s chest and tilting her head to observe at the horizon.

"But now... let's enjoy the moment, it's a beautiful scenery for the end of this show" Kafka nestles closer to him as they both gaze at the starry sky illuminated by countless stars while the sun sets. High above, a shooting star passes by the moon that begins to emerge over this Sea of Stars.

Notes:

So? Did you like it? Did you hate it? I'm curious about what you thought of this one-shot, especially in the moments when I used Kafka's lines.
