Work Text:
Jeongin checks the clock as he finishes his final task for the day: 10:45 AM. Later than usual, but that’s alright. He supposes he should be grateful that he finishes his work early and then he basically gets paid to do what he loves, rather than filling in spreadsheets and getting yelled at over the phone.
He leaves his work email open—just in case—and opens his personal email in a separate tab. The Internet filter at his office makes it difficult to kill time, really. There’s no social media, no games, no YouTube.
What Jeongin does have access to is an online encyclopedia website and a database of every scientific article he could want.
He lives a double life, which might be kind of cool, if it weren’t for the fact that his hobby is shamefully, tragically dorky.
By day, he’s Yang Jeongin, office worker who can barely make noodles for himself. By night (and also by day, once he’s finished his joke of a job), he’s fishlover2001, a man dedicated to archiving the existence of every fish that has not yet been dedicated an article on the website.
Yeah, it’s dorky. It’s tragically uncool. But Jeongin just… likes fish. He thinks they’re neat. It’s like they live in a whole other world, one that people really can’t know about. And, like, just the fact that some of them live in conditions that would kill a human in less than a second? They survive in pressure that would squash a human like a grape? Fish are so cool.
He’s kind of famous, he guesses, among the string of Internet users who do things like edit online encyclopedias. He’s among the most active users, in the top 100 of users by amount of articles created, and all entirely dedicated to fish.
He’d started with what he thought was a pretty obvious oversight—how does a well-known, well-respected website not have a single article dedicated to boxfish? But then the thread had unraveled and the problem had grown deeper. There were so many missing fish articles. And, well, Jeongin just kind of likes fish. So he’d done the natural thing and feverishly researched them so he could upload adequate articles.
That had been… maybe a year ago? And he has since moved on to extinct fish, a sect of marine life that has been incredibly neglected by the online community. So he’s working to catalog those fish as his current project.
As always, he starts by checking his email to see if anyone has suggested any edits or updated his citations. Most of his articles are about pretty obscure fish and don’t get many hits, anyway, but it happens sometimes.
His email inbox is… full. Full of updates and edits to his articles, which is unusual. At first, he thinks it must be some sort of troll, or fish hater. But no, the only edits have been the addition of images to a select few of his articles—the first batch of his extinct fish he’d worked on.
So—extinct fish is a pretty niche area of interest. Jeongin is working off of some very incomplete research and filling in what he can. For most of these fish, there are no artistic representations of them. Jeongin would try his hand at it, but he’d never evolved drawing fish past circle + triangle.
But now a user by the name of hwangcasso has gone through and… and uploaded digital paintings of these fish. The fish that Jeongin has worked so hard to research, the fish that nobody really knows what they look like. But this user has gone through Jeongin’s articles and peeled out what physical descriptions they could and they’ve brought these fish, dead already for millions of years, to life.
Is it stupid that Jeongin’s a little emotional about this?
He’s clicking on the profile and messaging hwangcasso before he can even think about it. He just… word vomits, intense words of gratitude and praise. He has a pretty hefty paragraph by the end of it but it’s too embarrassing to reread; he hits send and pulls up an article he hadn’t had time to get to yesterday.
He’s skimming for information about a particularly elusive fish when his browser chimes with a new message notification. It breaks his focus, and he navigates back to hwangcasso’s profile.
hwangcasso (11:32 AM)
oh, i’m glad you like them!! haha, i was just doing my best.
i don’t know much (or anything) about fish, so i hope i drew them well.
Jeongin frowns. This guy doesn’t know anything about fish but he’d decided to randomly draw a bunch of fish for an online encyclopedia?
fishlover2001 (11:34 AM)
you don’t know anything about fish? why’d you decide to draw them, then?
hwangcasso (11:35 AM)
i’m in a bit of an artistic rut. i thought maybe drawing something that someone else would really appreciate would help. looking for my own passions in other people’s, or something.
fishloser2001 (11:35 AM)
did it help?
hwangcasso (11:36 AM)
maybe!!
i’m working on another fish right now
Eospinus daniltshenkoi?
i’d let you take a look at the picture first to make sure it all looks okay
i went back to the article you cited to see if i could get more information on what it looked like, but i’m not sure i’m interpreting it correctly.
fishlover2001 (11:38 AM)
yes!!!!
here’s my number:
xxx-xxx-xxxx
It’s not like him, giving his personal phone number out to strangers on the Internet, but this hwangcasso guy is trying to draw a fish that he had researched. Hwangcasso having his number can’t hurt.
He’s expecting a text, but instead, his phone lights up not just with a voice call, but a fucking video call. He fumbles with his phone, nearly sending it flying off his desk, and then scurries away from his desk, off to somewhere private. He’ll call it an early lunch, or something.
He answers the video call as he’s navigating to the little nook at the end of his office’s hallway. It’s little more than a bay window with a built-in bench, but it’s deserted this time of the morning. He’s afraid the angle is a bit awkward when he first answers, but he readjusts the phone quickly enough.
“Hey, sorry,” Jeongin says quietly, fitting his earbuds in.
He looks properly at the screen and—holy shit. Holy fuck, this guy is—he’s hot. Why is such a hot guy working to illustrate his dorky ass fish?
hwangcasso apparently registers his own screen and shock crosses his face—probably because Jeongin looks pretty normal, pretty young, and should probably have less weird hobbies than researching extinct fish.
“Oh,” he says, readjusting his own phone. “You’re—fishlover2001?”
“Uh, Jeongin is fine,” he says. “You’re…?”
“Hyunjin,” he says, beaming. “Sorry, I wasn’t expecting the guy whose fish articles I was illustrating to be so cute.”
Cute? Is he… cute? It sends little flurries through his belly and up his chest, but he shakes them off. This is important—this is about his fish! His articles! His work! Or—really his hobby, but it feels more like it should be his job.
So he brushes off the cute comment—or rather, ignores it completely. “You were working on Eospinus, you said?”
“Right!” Hyunjin says brightly, grinning at him. “Hang on, let me show you what I’m thinking… I want to do it justice…” He fumbles with the phone a few moments, before the camera flips and shows the screen that Hyunjin is apparently working on.
The fish is painted a yellow-green, with the odd dorsal spikes raising from its back and the solitary one protruding from between its eyes, just like Jeongin had described in the brief article he’d written.
“So,” he scrambles to explain. “I think I interpreted the dorsal spines correctly? But there’s some other technical terminology in here that I was kind of struggling to understand…”
So Jeongin explains to this painfully hot man what a caudal peduncle is and very embarrassingly has to use the term anal fin. And, most surprising of all, the painfully hot man listens to him prattle on about fish anatomy and give him his own explanation of how he had interpreted the appearance of the fish. And Hyunjin seems… interested?
So they draft a rough approximation of E. daniltshenkoi together, and Jeongin mentions at the end, unable to help himself, “You know, it’s interesting that you decided to color it that yellow-green.”
“Hm?” Hyunjin asks. “Is it? I just did it because—well, you know in your article you mentioned that it’s related to boxfish. So I searched up what a boxfish was and they’re yellow, apparently.”
Jeongin wrote the boxfish article—it’s what had kickstarted this whole thing. He might swoon. “I know!” he says enthusiastically, because he was going to tell Hyunjin the exact same thing! “I mean—as juveniles, they’re this really bright, vivid yellow, but it fades as they get older. I think in that article, I had a photo of an older boxfish, and you can see that it’s kind of blue-gray-ish—”
“Hey,” Hyunjin says, cutting him off but not impolitely. Jeongin stops in his tracks. He’d kind of been blabbering on and on about fish, and maybe that’s kind of annoying. He should… hold himself back, maybe.
“Sorry,” he apologizes immediately. “Just—you can probably tell, but I really like fish.”
Hyunjin laughs. “Yeah, obviously. Don’t worry, it’s cute.” There’s that word again. Is Jeongin… cute? If Hyunjin thinks so, it must be true. “No, I was just going to say—this is probably forward, and maybe a little weird, but do you happen to live in Seoul, by chance?”
Oh, god. Does Hyunjin live in Seoul? Thinking on it, he has to—people who look like him don’t live just anywhere. “I—I do,” he says.
“Great!” Hyunjin says, beaming at him again. His smile is brilliant, dazzling—beautiful. Jeongin feels very stupid for having had the attention of this very attractive man and wasting it talking about fish, of all things. “Then I was wondering: what if we went to the aquarium together? On a date, just to be clear.”
Jeongin blinks. He does like the aquarium. But isn’t he just going to kind of make a fool of himself in front of Hyunjin? He’s just been word-vomiting about fish this entire video call, mostly, even though Hyunjin is irredeemably hot and he should think that Jeongin is a big fat Loser with a capital L.
But he doesn’t, apparently—or maybe he does, but that’s not enough to keep him from asking Jeongin on a date.
“Um,” he says, his heart suddenly fluttering, slamming against his ribcage in a really concerning way. “Um, I like the aquarium.”
Hyunjin beams. “Great! How’s Saturday?”
“Saturday, um…” he considers, already knowing he has no plans other than ordering takeout and reading more fucking fish articles. “Yeah, um. Saturday’s good.”
“Cool,” Hyunjin says. This must be so easy for him, Jeongin thinks. See cute nerd, ask on date. Nerd says yes because he has nobody in his life other than extinct fish. “What if we meet about 11:00? A lunch date.”
A lunch date. A lunch… date? How has Jeongin just stumbled into a lunch date? With someone unreasonably hot? That he met through his tragically, cataclysmically dorky hobby? How has he charmed Hyunjin with caudal peduncles and anal fins?
“Yes,” Jeongin says. He’s pretty sure his brain is short-circuiting. “Yes. Aquarium. 11 o’clock. I’ll be there.” He sounds deranged, insane, but Hyunjin is still smiling at him.
“Awesome! Looking forward to it, Jeonginnie! See you then, yeah?”
“Yes,” he says, unable to think of any other word and having to wait for Hyunjin to hang up with a quick wave goodbye.
He immediately tosses his phone down to the cushioned bench, hangs his head in his hands, and silently screams. He can’t have a full breakdown since he’s literally in public, but—what the fuck? Is this a prank? Had Hyunjin been dared? Does he have court-mandated community service?
Because what the fuck could someone like Hyunjin want to do with someone like Jeongin in any romantic capacity?
This is stupid and embarrassing, Jeongin thinks self-consciously as he tugs at the hem of his sweater. He doesn’t have date clothes, only work clothes and slob clothes, so he’d had to dig a sweater from the depths of his closet.
It has a fucking fish on it.
Not even, like, a real fish! Just the vague, childish outline of one, solid black against the lavender of the rest of the sweater. Hyunjin already knows he’s an enormous dork when it comes to fish—does he really have to advertise the fact via his clothing, too?
This will probably be painful. Hyunjin will realize that Jeongin is serious about his fish obsession, that it’s not a silly little joke. But it’s okay. Jeongin can go home after and wallow in takeout and fish documentaries that he’s watched a million times over.
He sights Hyunjin immediately. Tall, thin, dressed like an actual model. He has bleached blond hair and an aura that makes Jeongin go weak in the knees. He’s so fucked.
“Jeonginnie!” he greets enthusiastically, looking genuinely overjoyed. He goes in for a hug, which is overwhelming for the first time they’ve met in person. He smells like something spicy—he’s wearing cologne.
“Uh, hi, Hyunjin,” he stammers uncertainly. “Uh—hyung?”
Hyunjin narrows his eyes, remembering. “Fishlover2001, right? I’m 2000, so, yeah! Hyung is fine.”
It’s embarrassing, hearing him say Jeongin’s screen name out loud, and his eyes instinctively turn to the few other people in the vicinity, wondering if they’ve heard his embarrassing name.
“Your sweater is so cute!” he praises, taking a step back as if to take in Jeongin in his full, abysmally dorky glory.
“Uh, thanks,” he says, picking at a stray thread on his sleeve. “You look, uh, nice.”
It’s an understatement. Hyunjin looks like he should have absolutely nothing to do with Jeongin, but he grins at the compliment, anyway. “Hey, thanks,” he says, beaming. “Come on, hyung’s treat. I invited you, after all.”
It’s a nice day, the first one after a week of freezing rain, and so the aquarium is pretty barren. Everyone had gotten their fill of it during the bad weather, and now everyone would like to be outside. Everyone except Jeongin and Hyunjin, who are the only ones in the ticket line.
Hyunjin pays for their tickets and ushers Jeongin inside, a hand on the small of his back. “Alright,” he says as they enter the lobby. “You lead the way; I haven’t been here since I was a kid. I trust your judgment.”
Jeongin… comes here pretty frequently. At least a few times a year. Often enough that he’s seriously considered whether he should just get an annual pass.
He usually starts with the river fish, honestly, because he finds them less interesting. The gars and the catfish move slowly, and they’re dull colors. He much prefers the ocean fish.
But—no! He’s on a date with Hyunjin, and Hyunjin probably doesn’t want to look at the stupid, boring fish either. What would Hyunjin like?
For some reason, jellyfish pop into his head. They’re floaty and pretty and some of them glow. They’re frilly and lacy and they cast the relative dark of the jellyfish section in soft, pretty lights. Hyunjin is pretty, so he probably likes looking at pretty things, too?
He looks over at Hyunjin, who’s smiling at him and extending his hand. Oh. He wants Jeongin to take his hand, to lead him? But his hand is a weird, gross combination of cold and sweaty!
Stomach turning, he grabs Hyunjin’s hand, which is warm and not sweaty. He’s intending to merely grab Hyunjin’s hand and gently guide him in the direction of the jellyfish, but Hyunjin interlocks their fingers, and Jeongin’s heart does that concerning ba-dump again. “Where to?” he asks.
“Uh—jellyfish?”
“Sure!” he says, his eyes twinkling. “Jellyfish are pretty.”
So they tramp for the corner of the aquarium where the jellyfish are housed. It’s darker over here, which hadn’t really been Jeongin’s intention, but Hyunjin doesn’t say anything about it.
There are tanks and circular windows and free-standing tubes filled with jellyfish of every kind.
“Aren’t jellyfish, like, immortal?” Hyunjin asks, cocking his head as they stare through one of the circular windows. They’re in front of the purple-striped jellies now, long and frilly and beautiful, and Hyunjin is still holding Jeongin’s hand.
Is he asking Jeongin to vomit out fish facts?
“Actually,” he says, unable to help himself, “that’s only one species of jellyfish that’s thought to be theoretically immortal, Turritopsis dohrnii. These guys,” he says, jutting his chin towards the purple-striped jellies floating gracefully in front of them, “only live about a year or so.” He’s almost vibrating with the need to tell Hyunjin about the lack of jellyfish in the fossil record, due to their fragile bodies, but he (barely) restrains himself.
Hyunjin frowns, gazing from Jeongin back to the jellyfish. “That’s sad,” he decides. “Only a year?”
He’s feeling bad for a jellyfish. For an amorphous blob that doesn’t even have a brain or blood or a heart. For a glorified plastic grocery bag filled with water and goo.
Jeongin might be in love?
Still, he hastens to reassure him. “No, I mean, like—it’s okay? They don’t even have brains, and I mean, they mostly just get to bob along in the ocean? I think their lives must be p—”
He’s cut off by Hyunjin bobbing forward and pressing their lips together.
He’s cut off by Hyunjin (!!!) bobbing forward and pressing their lips together (!!!!).
He’d done it so casually, too, just wrapping a hand around the back of Jeongin’s arm for leverage, stepping forward, and tilting his head down the little bit required to connect their lips.
He’s caught entirely off-guard—he hadn’t even been certain he’d get this far by the end of the date. Is Hyunjin somehow just horny for dumb nerds who can’t shut their mouths?
He doesn’t care if Hyunjin is some freak who’s only into embarrassing nerds. He’s kissing him, and nothing else matters.
It simultaneously feels like it drags on for hours and ends in the blink of an eye. Hyunjin is close and warm, kissing him gently, casually, like it’s something that they do all the time.
And then he’s gone, pulling away slowly, but not too far.
“Sorry,” Hyunjin says, smiling softly. “You were saying?”
Jeongin couldn’t remember if his life depended on it. “I—why?” he asks, still reeling from it.
Hyunjin cocks his head to the side, his nose crinkling like he finds Jeongin so cute he can’t stand it. “I wanted to kiss you. Seemed a shame to wait for the end of the date. It was okay, right? Because now we can kiss whenever we want for the rest of the date, right?”
That’s… an idea. Is… Jeongin allowed to kiss him, then?
Tentatively, scared that Hyunjin might do something like freak out or slap him away, he stretches out to wrap a hand around the back of Hyunjin’s head. He hardly has to pull to get Hyunjin to his lips; he goes willingly.
This time, Hyunjin also steps closer, so that they’re nearly pressed together. The kiss is shorter but deeper, Hyunjin hooking his fingers into Jeongin’s belt loops and using the inch or so he has on Jeongin to his advantage.
Oh. This is why people don’t kiss first thing on first dates. It’s all Jeongin wants to fucking do. Why would he waste time staring at fish when there’s a very handsome boy who actively wants to kiss him?
Hyunjin seems to know it, too, pulling away from Jeongin with a prominent smirk. “C’mon,” he says, sliding a hand into Jeongin’s pocket. “Tell me more about jellyfish, yeah?”
Every useless fact Jeongin knows about jellyfish slides off of his brain. It’s just Hyunjin—everything is Hyunjin.
Hyunjin drags Jeongin to every last exhibit, including the boring ass river fish. But he keeps his hand in Jeongin’s or tucked in his pocket the entire time. He pulls him in for kisses at the randomest (and, occasionally, most inconvenient) times, like he just… wants to. Like he can’t help it.
And Jeongin doesn’t know what their plans are after the aquarium, but he wouldn’t mind, like. Kissing Hyunjin some more. Somewhere more private, maybe.
They’re finally finishing up, nearly out of the deep blue sea section. There are just some seahorses and sponges and things to do—inconsequential things. Easy things. Things that Jeongin can hold back regurgitating facts about if it means he can leave the aquarium and maybe go somewhere else with Hyunjin.
He pauses in front of the seahorse tank, squatting slightly to peer inside. “Oh, look,” he tells Jeongin, pointing with his index fingers.
One of them, with a distended belly, has its tail hooked around a bit of seaweed, anchoring itself.
“Is he pregnant?” Hyunjin asks. “I heard the dads are the ones who carry the seahorse babies and give birth.”
“That’s true,” Jeongin confirms, barely able to think about the stupid seahorses. Hyunjin’s palm is burning a hole through the back of his pants, hand slipped in pocket again.
“So do you think he’s pregnant?”
“He must be,” Jeongin says, forcing his attention to snap to the bloated little seahorse in the tank.
“Hm,” Hyunjin says, considering. Then: “You want to try it on me?”
Huh?
“What?” Jeongin asks, nearly jumping out of his skin, something dark curling in his stomach.
Hyunjin flashes him a toothy grin. “I don’t mean to be forward, but I did park in a particularly secluded section of the parking garage. You should try to, like. Fuck a baby into me, or something.”
Oh, god. Oh, fuck. Not only does this incredibly hot man want to kiss Jeongin, he’s asking him to commit a biological impossibility for him?
His dick’s already hard.
“Let’s go,” he says urgently, taking Hyunjin’s hand out of his pocket. He grips it hard and immediately steers them for the exit, fuck the few other tanks of fish they’ve ignored.
Hyunjin is laughing as he trots to keep up with Jeongin, squeezing his hand back. “Okay,” he agrees, a little breathless. “Yeah, let’s do it.”
Jeongin manages to get them out of the aquarium and back into the sunshine, and then promptly realizes he has no idea where Hyunjin’s car is. He turns to him expectantly.
“Hang on,” Hyunjin says, wrapping an arm around his waist and leaning against him. “I had to write down where I parked, I always forget…” He unlocks his phone, and it’s pulled up on his web browser. The search at the top is fish facts to impress smart people and he hastily swipes up to get it off his screen. “You, um,” he says, awkward. “There’s a chance you didn’t see that, right?”
Oh, how the tables have turned. Jeongin flashes a grin at him. “You didn’t give me any facts, though,” he says. “You didn’t find any good ones?”
His cheeks are flushed. “I, um—I had the thing about the seahorses.”
“Wasn’t that just to get in my pants?” Jeongin counters, grinning so hard his cheeks ache.
“It worked,” he mumbles, petulant. “Please forget you saw that, it’s humiliating.”
Somehow, Hyunjin faltering and losing his cool has given Jeongin confidence. However cool and collected he pretends to be, he’s still some lovestruck idiot who’d sat in his car before their date and hastily googled fish facts so Jeongin would like him.
Hyunjin’s head is hung, face flushing bright red, and Jeongin brings his fingers under his chin to force his gaze up. He presses a short, chaste kiss to his lips and says, “I can forget about it if you get us to your car right now.”
“R-right, um…” Hyunjin stammers, fumbling with his phone until he has the note pulled up of the parking garage zone he’d ditched his car in. “Come on.”
They halfway run through the parking garage—Hyunjin has parked at the very tip top, but they thankfully manage to get an elevator alone. Hyunjin wastes no time in pressing Jeongin against the wall and kissing him for real. There’s force and desire behind his lips, his hands crawling under the hem of Jeongin’s dorky sweater, needing to touch bare skin. Little fireworks go off in Jeongin’s belly, and he clutches back at Hyunjin, like he’s scared he’ll step away.
They’re broken apart by the ding of the elevator, but the parking garage is deserted when the door opens up. In fact, there are no other cars on this floor at all—it’s just a beat-up old car that Jeongin assumes is Hyunjin’s, parked in the distant corner.
“So were you planning to fuck in your car on the first date?” Jeongin asks as Hyunjin tugs him for it.
“I like to keep my options open,” Hyunjin says, looking back at him with a wicked grin. “Plan B was buying you ice cream for lunch and chit-chatting.”
“Another time,” Jeongin says. “Later.”
Hyunjin’s car is not huge, but they squash into the backseat, anyway, Jeongin crawling on top of Hyunjin, caging him in. It’s easy to lean down and connect their lips, their bodies, to fist his hands in Hyunjin’s pretty hair and feel him moan against his mouth.
“What happened—” Hyunjin gasps, as Jeongin’s thigh slots between his legs, “—to shy Jeongin?”
He kisses a trail down Hyunjin’s throat, nipping it with his teeth in approval when he dips his head back obediently. “Sex is easy,” he grumbles. “Don’t have to think.”
Hyunjin laughs, a little incredulous, and brings his hands up to fist in Jeongin’s hair. “I’m in trouble, then.”
“Nuh uh,” Jeongin says, thrusting his hands up under Hyunjin’s shirt, feeling along his skin. “I’m gonna make you feel good.” He shoves his shirt all the way up to his neck, leaving Hyunjin to try to wriggle out of it with Jeongin all but attached to his neck. “Fuck you full? Have you dripping my cum?”
“God,” Hyunjin groans, surging forward to angrily fling his own shirt to the driver’s seat, before grabbing Jeongin’s hem and pulling up firmly.
“You’re really into that?” Jeongin asks, amused, letting Hyunjin divest him of his clothing to his heart’s content. Hyunjin flings his sweater indiscriminately towards the front of his car and then scissors their legs together and rolls his hips up against Jeongin’s.
“Wouldn’t have told you to fuck a baby into me if I weren’t,” he says through gritted teeth, locked around Jeongin’s shoulders as they rut against each other.
“Do you keep lube in your car?” Jeongin asks, already anticipating the answer.
Hyunjin rolls his eyes. “Didn’t I tell you I like to keep my options open?” He immediately dives across the center console, digging blindly in his glove compartment. Jeongin follows, determined to take advantage of the position, and rolls his hips against Hyunjin’s ass. “No, no,” he mumbles, tossing the lube over his shoulder and into the backseat. “I want to look in your eyes when you fuck me.”
“A romantic?” Jeongin asks with a wide, teasing grin.
“Exactly,” Hyunjin says with an equally goofy grin, unbuttoning his pants and gracelessly wriggling out of them. “That’s why we’re fucking in my car on the first date.”
Jeongin wriggles out of his own pants, as well, and tosses them to the floor. And then Hyunjin is hooking one leg over a backseat headrest and planting the other on the floor, the most spread he can get his legs given the situation. His cock is already hard, laying flat against his stomach, and he reaches out for Jeongin, needy.
“You said you’d make me feel good,” he whines. “So do it.”
Jeongin has to pretty much fold Hyunjin in half to kiss him at the same time that he slides a finger in, but Hyunjin doesn’t complain. He’s gripping Jeongin tight around the neck, dragging him as far down to his level as he’ll go.
“How’s that?” he asks, moving his finger slow and deep.
“You won’t break me,” Hyunjin pouts, pressing their foreheads together. “I can take more.”
So Jeongin gives him more—and more—and more—until he’s shaking from it. He writhes so pretty, Jeongin thinks, sweat dripping from his brow and fogging up the inside of the windows. He has three fingers pumping in and out of his hole and Hyunjin clutches him like a lifeline, like a savior.
His legs are quaking where they frame Jeongin and his neck can’t be at a comfortable position, jutted against the car door, but he’s only looking at Jeongin. “I think you should fuck me,” he mumbles, overcome. “I’m not coming until—”
“Until I fuck you full of my cum?” Jeongin supplies helpfully, with a cheeky grin.
“Please,” he whines, collapsing back against the door.
“Come here,” Jeongin says, grabbing him by the hips and shifting him forward, so his torso is at least laying flat. “You’ll hurt yourself like that.”
“Worth it,” he mumbles, stretching back out for Jeongin, like he can’t stand being parted. He wants them pressed together as much as they can be in the awkward space of the backseat, even if they’re sweaty and slick and cramping. “Just fuck me,” he complains, struggling to find purchase with his feet so he can thrust his hips up.
“Bossy,” Jeongin mumbles, though he affectionately kisses Hyunjin’s ankle as he hooks them over his shoulders. He stretches forward so Hyunjin can hold his hand.
He’s really pretty like this, and it’s maybe a stupid time to think so, literally lining up his cock so he can enter him. But it’s true all the same; his hair is damp with sweat and strewn messily over the carseat and his chest is heaving. His expression is slightly pinched, like the pain of waiting to get fucked is unbearable. And he’s so, so pretty like this, Jeongin thinks.
He should tell him, but there’s a little whimper that exits Hyunjin’s throat, a pathetic buck of his hips—bossy, even if he’s pitiful about it. Jeongin will tell him later, that he’s so, so pretty when he’s fucked halfway to tears, waiting impatiently for Jeongin’s cock.
So Jeongin gives it to him, shifting his hips up and bouncing him in his lap, adjusting. There’s an immediate cry that exits Hyunjin’s lips, and he squeezes Jeongin’s hand like a vice.
“Like that,” he commands, his eyes oddly clear, sparkling. “Fuck me hard.”
It takes a second of awkward fumbling to figure out the rhythm in the backseat of a car, but once Jeongin figures it out, he’s got it. He bends Hyunjin in half like a pretzel and pistons his hips in and out hard, listening to his moans and whines.
And he’s loud—he wonders if, in part, this is why he had parked so far away. Because he really doesn’t hold back, moaning and crying and nearly yelling when Jeongin gets the angle just right.
“Right there, Innie, don’t stop, please,” he stutters, tears springing to his eyes. He clutches Jeongin’s hand like it grounds him and looks up desperately into his eyes.
Jeongin smiles fondly and doesn’t break pace. “Fucking—bossy,” he reiterates. “Are you gonna cum?” he asks, looming tighter over him.
“Yeah,” he breathes out, tipping his head back. “Give it to me,” he says, another command. Jeongin has to smother a fond smile.
He bends further over Hyunjin and increases the pace of his hips. Hyunjin, for his part, is doing his damndest to buck against Jeongin’s thrusts, despite the awkward shape he’s bent into, his lack of leverage.
“C’mon, Innie,” he says softly, almost gasping. “‘m close, want you to fill me up, need you to cum in me—”
Hyunjin’s hole spasms around him and Jeongin swears he nearly passes out, faltering from the unexpected clench and edge he’s crashing inevitably towards. He looks down and Hyunjin has gone entirely limp and lax, white splashed up his stomach. His eyes are hooded, lips parted, chest heaving—pretty pretty pretty pretty, Jeongin thinks.
“Cum for me, pretty,” Hyunjin begs, barely audible.
It’s ridiculous, Jeongin being called pretty, when Hyunjin is basically beauty personified, but he bows his head over Hyunjin’s folded body and surges deep in his hole. His hips stutter and twitch as he releases deep in Hyunjin’s hole, and Hyunjin inhales sharply; Jeongin swears he sees his softening cock attempt to twitch back to life.
They freeze for a few moments, taking gasping breaths and trying to take stock of everything, their hands still clasped. And then, exhausted and certain that Hyunjin is aching from the angle, Jeongin pulls out. Cum dribbles from Hyunjin’s hole, splattering onto the seat below.
“Fuck,” he groans, sounding spent. “Who cares? Tissues in the glove box.”
“Keeping your options open?” Jeongin teases, out of breath. He obediently crawls over the center console and digs through the glove box until he comes away with tissues, chucking them at Hyunjin.
“I’m always prepared,” he murmurs, grimacing as he wipes his torso down the best he can, then dropping the soiled tissues on his floor. “Don’t you dare call me gross for that,” he threatens, pointing an accusatory finger at Jeongin.
“Vile,” he deadpans. “Disgusting. I’ll never have sex with you again; it’s put me off for good.”
“Come here, you fucking loser,” Hyunjin huffs, tugging Jeongin atop his chest.
They’re both overheated and slick with sweat but Jeongin only wrinkles his nose marginally as he settles atop Hyunjin. “My little seahorse,” he says fondly, teasingly, and Hyunjin bucks.
“Don’t make me shove you onto the floor,” he murmurs, eyes sliding shut. “Don’t ruin the moment.”
“You’re not going to sleep, are you?” Jeongin asks, slipping his fingers through his damp hair, pressing a fond kiss to his chin. “Didn’t you say something about buying me ice cream for lunch? I feel like I’ve earned it.”
“Hush,” Hyunjin says, shoving a finger to his lips. “Let me recover, and then we can get dressed. I’ll pull over at a convenience store and buy you whatever ice cream you want. Then we go back to my place, shower, and snuggle while we watch a movie.”
“Fish documentary,” Jeongin immediately bargains.
“Sure,” he murmurs, eyes sliding shut. “You can tell me more sexy fish facts during, you hot nerd.”
Hyunjin finishes with a messy little whine, and Jeongin wastes no time. He swallows, wipes his mouth, and helpfully tucks Hyunjin’s cock back in his sweatpants.
“Okay,” he enunciates, crawling back onto the couch and dragging a limp Hyunjin back against his chest. “What I was trying to show you before you so rudely interrupted…”
Hyunjin hadn’t rudely interrupted. He’d just been a little fidgety, on edge, and Jeongin thought—hey, it wouldn’t take long to suck him off. And then he’d have Hyunjin’s full attention, his gratitude—and this is fucking important.
“...I finished the museum!” he says, unpausing his save of Animal Crossing to show his avatar running through the fish section. “Even the stupid river fish.”
Hyunjin huffs out an incredulous laugh, glancing over his shoulder at his boyfriend. “This is—this is what you needed to show me?” he asks, unbelieving.
“Yeah,” Jeongin says, nuzzling his nose against Hyunjin’s hair fondly. “Cool, right?”
“Did you get all the sea creatures?” he mumbles.
“Duh,” he responds, rolling his eyes. “Oh—and look!” he says, making his avatar run for the ocean room. Hyunjin watches patiently, obediently. Jeongin clicks on the tank, and—“Look, hyung, it’s you,” he says, showing him the seahorse he’d caught.
Hyunjin snorts and shoves weakly at him. “I told you to stop calling me that.”
Jeongin will never stop calling him that. He’s given Hyunjin seahorse mugs, keychains, T-shirts, and Hyunjin pretends to hate it every time. Jeongin knows better. It’s their thing, now more cutesy than anything.
“Never,” he promises, wrapping his arms around Hyunjin’s torso and squeezing. “Anyway, that’s it. That’s all I wanted to show you. But cool, right?”
“Huh?” Hyunjin asks. “What about the bugs? The fossils?”
“Oh,” Jeongin says. “I have the fish fossils.”
Hyunjin blinks. “What about the bugs?”
He snorts. “Why the fuck would I wanna catch a bunch of bugs? Fish only.”
Hyunjin whips around. “Jeongin, the art?”
He squirms uncomfortably. He can’t well just say fuck art in front of Hyunjin. “I mean… it’s hard to collect the art… and Redd’s a scammer…”
“Unbelievable,” Hyunjin murmurs, but he’s smiling. He twists in Jeongin’s lap, stretching forward to kiss him. “You’re fucking unbelievable. Unbelievably cute.” Jeongin’s face flushes pink and he mutters something unintelligible under his breath. Hyunjin grins in triumph and snatches the controllers from Jeongin. “Come on,” he says, “let’s go see if Redd is visiting your island today, In.”
