Chapter Text
A large, bright beam of sun invaded Furinas eyes. The almost obnoxious light making it hard to see. Quickly shutting her eyes and moving out of the way, she noticing that she was not anymore in the hazard area, Furina deemed it safe to once again open her eyes.
Where.. where was she again ?
Taking a glance around the room, Furina made the connection that she was in her bedroom. But she couldn’t place the ‘strangeness’ of her situation. Something felt different. Smacking her lips, she sighed and decided to get up for her day.
Throwing her legs off her bed and standing up, Furina walked over to her dresser to get changed out of her plain gray t-shirt and black shorts. They were comfortable, but if anybody was to see her looking so untimely.
She sighed again, even though she was no longer acting, she still felt the need to look up-to-part. In case anybody saw through her disguise.
Furina knew she didn’t have to play and pretend, but it was such a big part of her that she couldn’t ignore. No matter how hard she tried.
Finally embellishing her head with her signature hat, she turned to open her window. The room felt abit stuffy anyway, and a good breeze might subdue her brain, she thought. Fiddling around with the lock for a moment, she managed to push open the blue tinted window.
Furina stuck her head out of the open gap and looked up at the sky, the sun -that earlier was the reason why she even rose out of her sleep- was nearly high in the sky. Taking a quick glance around the street, she could already see some familiar faces making their trips for the day.
Elise, a blonde hair dresser probably running to collect some last minute supplies.
Rosalie, a smart and friendly dog walker that already has an army of little puppies following her.
Louis, a chef, wandering around with a bag full of vegetables
All familiar to Furina, but she wouldn’t dare go talk to them. No, todays just not the day. It will be ! Just not today
Shaking her head, Furina moves to pull her head back into her room when something catches her eye. A blue box sitting right on her outside mat. That wasn’t there yesterday, She was sure of it. She always checks outside before going to bed, just in case.
Not wasting a second, Furina quickly decended her stairs to the ground floor. Going past her kitchen straight to the front door. She was about to open it, but then she hesitated.
What if it was a prank box made by some children. Or.. or what if it was an eviction letter ! Furina was sure she paid her bills last week, but what if she didn’t ?! Many thought surrounded her head and Furina started second guessing the decision to open the door, but against her caution, she almost ripped it open to find that same blue box sitting patiently where she saw it last.
Peering down, Furina was able to look at the box closer. It was small, but a vibrant blue colour. The wrapping paper had small water drops printed all over. If anything, it was very fitting for her theme.
Picking it up, Furina also took into note the weight of the small box. It felt like nothing. Empty.
Suddenly scared she had fallen for a prank, Furina shook the box. Thankfully a small thumping sound could be heard from inside. At least it’s not nothing.
Looking around outside once again but deeming nobody was looking, Furina closed the front door and made her way to her settee, box in hand. Placing the box down, Furina looked at it again.
And she continued to look at it
And continued
And continued.
Gah ! She wasn’t getting anywhere with this. Better to face her nerves face on, or she might just leave it there. And then it’ll never be open.
Furina slowly rose a hand towards the top of the box and pulled the wrapping down. Revealing a pristine envelope. On the front, a wax seal that Furina had never seen before locked the inside letter away.
Furina looked around her room for anything to help remove the seal, but alas, nothing to be found. Mumbling, Furina expertly ripped the wax off, albeit removing some of the under paper with it. Luckily the actual letter wasn’t damaged.
Grabbing the letter, Furina pulled it out and started reading. Her face becoming more confused as she descended.
