Kissing Heaven

Summary:

Aiku dares Niko to play 7 minutes in heaven with Kiyora

(Or Aiku doing gods work because Niko is useless)

Work Text:

Niko presses his lips against Kiyora’s gently, tracing his fingers along his side to find the back of his neck in the dark room. How did they get here? Not that Niko is going to complain about it. He’d give up anything to be here in this stupid closet with Kiyora for the rest of their lives. It sounds dumb to have his first kiss in his basement closet but the shock of electricity that shoots down his spine when Kiyora crowds him against the cold wall, hands firm on his waist, the feeling of Kiyora in general, doesn’t compare to anything else.

It started at one of the dumb parties that Aiku throws to get Niko “out of his comfort zone” which is really just him dragging Niko out of his bed by the collar of his shirt like a mother cat would do to her baby. It usually ends with a new anime figurine or manga to add to his shelf so he never complains about it too loud. Aiku had dragged him into the basement to play a childish game of truth or dare. It started out tame, dares to drink hot sauce and truths about the most embarrassing moments in people's lives. Things Niko could handle. It was like that until another small group of people joined, Shidou at the front of it with his evil grin that Niko was hardly paying attention to because there Kiyora was, right behind him.

Niko has always had a hard time not looking at him when he walks by. He’s smaller than Niko in height by a few inches but nobody would think it based on the amount of space he takes up in Niko’s mind. He never liked the people who only ever talk about their boyfriends and had no personality beyond that, but not long after meeting Kiyora he became just as bad as them. To be fair he wasn’t –isn’t– dating Kiyora. He just had his eyes on the boy. All the time…

Aiku nudged Niko on the shoulder, noticing his hopeless pining.

“Still down bad for Kiyora?” Aiku whispered, voice mostly masked by the pop music blasting from his speaker on the other end of the room.

“I'm not down bad,” Niko denied despite knowing very well that he was lying. Aiku raised an eyebrow at him, clearly not believing him.

“Yeah sure, want me to help you out?”

Niko’s initial reaction was to say hell no but the past months he’d been falling for Kiyora were the worst of his life. He couldn’t compare the heartbreak of seeing Kiyora every single day and having no clue if the boy would even lov– like him in the same way. It didn’t help that Kiyora was hard to read, level headed, quiet, and mysterious.

“Fine,” He sighed to which Aiku grinned evilly. Niko spent the next ten or so minutes on edge, glancing at Kiyora every so often and shying away when their eyes met, which was a significant number of times.

Aiku got a dare, something outrageous from Shidou that prompted him to grab Sendou and Niko didn’t see the rest because he had turned to more pleasant things. Kiyora.

Aiku settled back down next to Niko grinning at him and all Niko could do was sigh and accept the dare that was coming his way. Right, that’s how he got here.

Kiyora’s hands drag up from his hips to his waist, lifting his shirt to sneak his hands underneath. As Kiyora nips at his lip and squeezes his sides Niko tips his head back slightly, trying to keep himself quiet since everyone they know is in the next room and he isn’t sure that the music they’re playing will completely mask the sounds he wants to make at the moment. Kiyora pulls away from his mouth and Niko is hardly embarrassed about the way he chases Kiyora’s lips just a little bit.

Kiyora makes a sound that seems like a chuckle but it's quiet and throaty and he does it right in Niko’s ear. He bites hard on the inside of his cheek as Kiyora kisses along his jaw, nipping at the skin then kissing a hot trail down to his collarbone. His hands never leave Niko’s body, which is as much of a curse as it is a blessing. Niko twirls a tuft of curly hair between his fingers as his other arm wraps around Kiyora’s shoulders, keeping him close even though he was never trying to escape in the first place.

“Kiyora,” Niko groans because he needs a second to breathe before he pops up with a very unwanted boner, he’d rather die than walk out into the common area like that. Kiyora doesn’t seem to care at all, ignoring the desperate call of his name in favor of pressing his thigh between Niko’s legs which makes his problem worse.

“Kiyora seriously,” Niko begs breathlessly, tugging on the back of Kiyora’s shirt to get him even a second to take a break.

“Jin,” Kiyora corrects,  still mouthing at his neck.

“Jin–” He tries gently, tasting the name on his mouth until Kiyora– Jin choses that moment to rub his thigh between Niko’s legs and poke his tongue against his pulse. Niko lets out a sound that he’d much rather not describe and shoves Kiyora away so he can cover his face with both hands. As if the cover of darkness wasn’t enough, he turns to face the wall, bumping his forehead.

His face is burning hot and he’s never been so embarrassed in his life but at least he’s not hard anymore.

Jin comes up behind him, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his hands on his shoulder, “Sorry,” He mumbles, pressing a chaste kiss against the nape of his neck, somehow it still manages to send butterflies into Niko’s stomach.

“You live here, right?” Kiyora asks, all quiet and rough in his ear again. It tickles in a way that makes Niko want to throw himself through the wall.

“Yeah.”

Kiyora runs a hand up his front, gently scratching blunt nails across the hot skin on his chest, “Can we go to your room?”

Niko’s heart stops, drops, and rolls around in his chest with the way he catches on fire at what that implies.

“We won’t do anything you don’t want. I’d be more than happy to just hang out with you.”

Like that was supposed to make him any less nervous, “I uh– We can uhm,” he swallows hard and turns halfway to face Jin even though he can’t really see him in the dark closet, “hang out in my room.”

“Time is up, losers!” Shidou yells right before he swings the door open.  Being suddenly flooded by light Niko can’t see very much but he feels Jin’s hand intertwine warmly with his own and pull him out of the basement and up the creaky stairs. Someone, probably Aiku, maybe Shidou, whistles at them as they leave.

“Your room?” Jin asks as he closes the staircase door behind him. Niko pulls him down the hallway to the furthest room pausing for a second outside the door. He thinks about the collection of figurines and posters in his room and how much he doesn’t want Gojo and Geto staring at him while he and Jin do… well anything.

“Niko, it’s fine,” Jin encourages when he sees Niko’s stressed expression. A gentle hand, a lot less sexual this time, rubs his side as Jin looks at him with his persian indigo eyes. Yes, Niko knows the exact color.

Niko inhales deeply and pushes his door open, face turning red as Jin glances around his room. He eventually drifts over to Niko’s shelf.

“Banana fish?” Jin asks as he runs a finger across the spine.

“You can just ignore all that–” Niko says nervously, fidgeting with his hands.

“The ending was sad.”

Niko sits down looking up at Jin with wide excited eyes as he walks over, standing tall right in front of him, “You liked it?”

Jin nods with a gentle smile that Niko can’t help but return. Niko thinks, maybe, he might actually love this guy.

Jin leans down to hold Niko’s face between his palms, kissing his cheek right below his eye before lifting a hand to smooth his hair out of his face. Niko squeezes his eyes shut, heart drumming nervously as he peeks an eye open to see Jin staring at him amorously.

“Do you want to watch it with me?”

Niko probably has never said yes to anything so enthusiastically. Jin smiles at him as Niko rummages around a drawer for his remote. When he turns back around, Jin is already on his bed with a sheet folded over inviting him to get comfortable. That’s what Niko does, he starts the anime with his shoulder pressed gently against Jin’s.

At some point during the second episode Jin’s hand creeps up to rest on his thigh, rubbing intimate circles into the muscles and leaving Niko tingling with happiness all over. Jin doesn’t try to kiss him again which is equally disappointing and good. It means he meant it when he said he was happy to just hang out with Niko. That gets him to relax, resting his head on Jin’s shoulder as he sinks further under the covers. He can’t see the time but a glance out his window tells Niko that it’s late at night and the yawn that forces its way out of him is confirmation enough.

Jin’s hand leaves his leg, circling around Niko’s waist instead to hold him close under the covers. He’s mostly out of it, drowsy and high off the dopamine Jin gives him but Niko thinks Jin kissed his forehead before he drifted off to sleep.

Niko hasn’t slept that well in years and when he wakes up Jin is still there, glowing peacefully under the soft sliver of light that creeps between his curtains.
