I've Been Called Worse

Summary:

Luke loses his temper with Han as they plan for a dangerous mission.

Work Text:

"Han, don't be an idiot!" Luke snapped. Regret flooded him immediately. He felt the way the words stung Han, the flash of betrayal that lanced through him.

Han exhaled noisily, but didn’t respond in kind.

"Alright." he said with a nod. He looked to Leia, opened his mouth to speak, then closed it without a word. He turned and left the main hold.

“I know the stakes are high. But we’re on the same side here, kid.” Han’s words were laced with defensiveness.

“This plan is dangerous…” Luke swallowed, leaving the rest unsaid.

“I know the risks, Luke.” Han’s tone softened on Luke’s name. “This is our only option.”

“Still, I shouldn’t have—“

“Called me an idiot?” Han huffed out a laugh. “I’ve been called worse.”
