Chapter Text
Holy shit.
Gemma woke up from the same nightmare. He was screaming and crying, immediately trying to get out of his bed.
"Rose, Kymara, don't leave me alone again! Don't leave me alone...Please?"
He was back in that same room. Rose and Kymara were unaware of Infinity Group. Jacob was taken, too. Gemma was left alone. Alone.
"Rose, Kymara, I'm terribly sorry to say but we tried everything. Her glasses are the only thing we found. We'll do everything in our power to find Gemma, but until then I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry." Ms. Ainsworth shook her head. "There's nothing I can do."
The two looked devastated. Rose started crying with Kymara consoling him. Then, that stupid window faded to just a mirror and Gemma was left alone.
He doesn't like being alone.
"No no no no no please!" Gemma screamed, going to the nearest corner, right next to the three's shared closet. He was trembling and his skin felt itchy. It was always itchy, he needed to fix it.
As soon as he started crying, Rose woke up.
He can't save Gemma any more than he can save himself.
Gemma's vision was blurry and he was scared and tired and why did they leave him alone and why did they listen to Ainsworth? The corner was safe. It was so dark, it's always so dark. And his skin is still so itchy, like there's bugs inside of him. He can always get them out.
"Hey, Gems, hun." Rose whispered. He sat next to the frightened boy.
Gemma was still crying, knees close to his chest. Everything was so much right now.
"I'll get Kymara, yeah? She wont be mad at you. She's never mad at you." Rose slowly walked over and woke Kymara up, whispering something to her. Gemma cried a little bit less.
Kymara was the easiest at helping with nightmares. She never got offended, she didn't yell or get upset, she was safe.
"You left me. Again." Gemma said, a weak glare accompanying it. "Why'd you leave?"
Kymara pet his hair. Gemma had finally calmed down enough for touch. "It was a nightmare, baby, I won't leave. I won't leave you alone."
"But you did. And I was scared."
Kymara sighed lightly, trying to just get everyone to sleep. "I know, I'm sorry. I bet it feels bad, yeah?" She whispered. Rose was struggling to go to bed right beside them. "I promise I won't leave you."
Gemma smiled at that comment.
"You promise that a lot."
"I mean it a lot."
