Work Text:
Luna’s work is never done, evidenced routinely by haggardness. A hallowed look etched in her eyes, only when dawn breaks does it dissipate. Though sleep comes quickly, the sight—it’s a test of Fluttershy’s strength
“I know it’s important, but must you?”
“Freedom from their fears is the greatest gift I can bestow. Aside from you, I’ve seldom let myself want for more…”
Fluttershy doesn’t remark on what goes unsaid.
When the sun sets once more upon Equestria, Luna resumes her gentle haunt of its denizens. Fluttershy watches, and she awaits her love in the safe embrace of a dream.
