Chapter Text

Tim is sprinting down some creepy hallway in the basement of Benedict hall when a loud gunshot rings through his ears all of a sudden. He begins moving towards the noise. He watches as Alex runs in the opposite direction from the shot. A bolt of ice cold fear runs through him, he waits until Alex has gone and he runs over to where Alex previously stood.

Tim layed eyes on a sight that made him sick to his stomach. So so horribly sick. Jay was slumped in the corner of a room, camera held in one hand, and the other clutched over a heavily bleeding gun wound on his stomach. Tim ran over, kneeling down, the strong, metallic smell of blood infiltrating his nose.

"Shit. Jay. Can you hear me?"

"Tim?"

"Jay hold on."

"It hurts so bad."

Jay manages to get out, his voice sounding choked and scared. Visible bubbles of blood were forming at the corners of his mouth as he tried to speak.

"Jay please don't talk, you'll make yourself worse."

Tim shakily grabs Jays hand, squeezing it. He hoists Jay up into his arms, and just runs to get out of there. He carefully eases Jay into the passanger seat of his car, before he places the camera on Jay's lap, then scrambles into the driver's seat and driving as fast as he can. He doesn't even know where he's going. He decides to drive home, knowing he has a first aid kit there. By the time they arrive at Tim's home, Tim knows he has broken multiple speeding and road laws, but he's too concerned to care. He scrambles out of the car. Tim can hear Jay whimpering and coughing up blood beside him, Tim grits his teeth at the sound, it is almost agonizing to listen to.

When they arrive at Tim's house he immediately springs out of the car and runs over to the passanger side, pulling the door open. He carefully lifts Jay out of the passanger seat, putting one arm under jays knees and the other under Jays arms to lift him up into the bridal carry. He walks carefully to not disturb the wound too much. They reach the front door and he clumsily fishes his keys out of his pocket, quickly unlocking the door and bringing Jay inside. He glances down at the blood that was seeping into the sofa, a brief thought that it wouldn't be the most pleasant to clean up. He mentally slapped himself, now is not the time to be thinking of ruined upholstery.

"Jay, I'll be one second, I'll be really quick, I'm just getting the first aid kit, okay?"

Without waiting for an answer Tim speeds into the bathroom tearing up the cupboard for the first aid kit, praying to whatever is out there, that the hooded thing hadn't stolen the first aid kit. Tim let out a sigh of relief as he found it stashed at the back of the cupboard, grabbing it and running back into the living room to Jay. As he's getting there he can still hear those horrible, painful sounds of Jay coughing and and groaning, making him speed up running even more that he was previously.

He yanks Jays shirt away from where the gash was bleeding out. Tim felt sick to his stomach as he seen cut, practically a hole, in jays left abdomen. Tim really doesn't know what to do, he can feel panick spiking at his chest. He should probably try to stop the bleeding. That would probably be the best course of action right now. He grabs a shirt hanging over a nearby chair and presses it to the wound, watching as the grey material quickly turned scarlet. Tim's hands shook as held it to Jays stomach.

"You're gonna be okay Jay, you're not gonna die, you're gonna survive, everything will be fine, I promise, please, just stay awake, okay? Can you do that for me Jay?"

Tim sounded more like he was trying to convince himself rather than Jay.

"I-...I'll try Tim"

Jay cut himself off in the middle of his sentence with a bloody cough.

"Good good good everything will be fine trust me it'll be okay, Jay it'll be fine"

Tim fumbles around in the first aid kit for anti septic spray or something like that. He manages to find a small bottle, and removes the now soggy with blood shirt. He sprays some on the wound, and physically winces when he hears a pained gasp from Jay.

"I'm sorry jay, I'm sorry I'm sorry, it'll be okay, I'm sorry it hurt, but it'll help, I swear it will, okay?"

Tim mumbles as he searches through the medical kit for bandages. Grabbing a roll of gauze bandages he begins carefully but clumsily bandaging Jays abdomen up, feeling the tears beginning to burn in his eyes but he just couldn't let them out because that would make him weak.

"Jay, jay, jay you're gonna be okay, alright? Everything will be fine Jay, and you're gonna survive and-"

"Tim"

Jay cuts Tim off, his voice sounding weak and raspy. Tim immediately stops rambling and looks at Jay, paying every last bit of his attention to him.

"I'm right here, Jay, okay? I'm not going anywhere!"

Tim mutters to Jay, almost frantically, gasping sharply as Jays weak bloody hands move up to cup his face.

"Tim, I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry Tim, I need to tell you..."

"Jay what is it?"

"Tim, if I don't survive, I want you to know-"

"Jay no, don't talk like that, you're gonna survive, you're gonna be fine!"

"Tim I'm sorry, Tim, if I don't survive I want you to know that I love you, Tim, I'm sorry"

Tim does a sharp intake of breath. This couldn't be possible right. There was no way. But he needed to respond. He couldn't just sit here in silence like an idiot.

"Gods Jay, I love you too, gods I love you"

Tim swallows hard, his throat feeling tight and his heart clenching in his chest. Why was Jay always like this. Why did he have to say his love confession while on the verge of death. He knows that this is always the way Jay is, he holds his tongue until it's too late. Tim doesn't want Jay to say these things now. Tim doesn't want to be talking about the possibility that Jay won't survive; that he may have to say goodbye. Tim doesn't want to say goodbye, he can't say goodbye. Not to Jay. Tim wants to have confessed to Jay maybe in a nice park, or in a cafe. Not when Jay was possibly on the verge of death.

Tim leans down, resting his forehead against Jays, feeling the hot stickyness of the blood on Jay's skin, touching his face, he tries to ignore it. He has to focus on Jay right now, but he can't help but feel the blood against his skin, bringing him back to reality. Tim strokes Jays cheek with his thumb slowly and tenderly.

Jay leans up, with physical effort and captures Tim's lips with his own into a kiss. Tim froze for a second, his eyes widening, before fluttering closed, holding Jays face to kiss him. Tim pours everything into the kiss, all his feeling of worry, all his love for Jay, all his care, and all his fears. The kiss is packed with emotions. And it reads one thing clearly. This is almost definitely a goodbye kiss. Tim doesn't want to forget this moment ever. He doesn't want to forget Jay. He tries to commit all of this to his memory, the taste of his lips, the feel of his skin, the smell of the blood, all of it. Tim pulls away from Jay, to let him breathe.

"Tim, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry...Tim..."

"Gods please, I love you Jay, I love you so much, please"

"Tim I'm cold, it hurts so bad Tim and I'm so cold..."

Tim immediately looks around the room and grabs a blanket off of the sofa and wraps it around Jays shoulders.

"Is that better? Are you better now? Please get better Jay."

Tim grasps onto Jays hand with both of his own, caressing it gently and pressing his lips to Jays bloody knuckles. The metallic taste of blood infiltrating his mouth but he could hardly care anymore. He could feel the tears threatening to leave him, burning and stinging his eyes, like tiny hot pokers.

"I love you Tim"

Jay mumbles, as he slipped into unconscious. Tim could only watch, the tears only now beginning to fall, he couldn't even say anything over the lump in his throat.

"F-fuck..."

Tim stares at the unconscious Jay, he begins to sob, tears falling down his face. His hands go towards Jays neck as he checks for a pulse. There was a pulse, faint, weak and uneven, but it was there. What was he supposed to do though. He couldn't think of anything. Hospital. He needed to take Jay to the hospital. He should have taken him there in the first place. Why was he only thinking to take him now. He was so stupid. Now is not the time for those self depricating thoughts, those can be saved for later.

Tim carefully scoops Jay up, taking him out to his car, and beginning the drive to the hospital.
