Comet Crystal Gala (but like not)

Summary:

A year on from the Boo York Comet Crystal Gala there is another gala held in it's place to honour the tradition. While there is no comet it is time to honour the tradition whilst creating a new one. Cleo and Deuce once again go and get a sort of do-over to just enjoy the city this time around. Seth once again get to show Catty around his town whilst getting to spend time with her without his mother telling him off.

Or I just wanted to write a fic about these two couples where they get to go to Boo York again and go to a nice gala and be happy because that's all I want for them.
(Rate T for swearing)

Notes:

This fic was inspired by a lot of other fics about these two couples but specifically “Boo Years gala” by WhereStudentBodiesLie.

Chapter 1: Boring Business People

Chapter Text

After a long boring Saturday of meetings with friends of her father Cleo wanted nothing more than to collapse into her mansters arms and have a nice long sleep. As soon as she was alone in her room she checked to see if she had any messages from Deuce, they usually talked more but today he’d only texted her to say good morning he loved her. She had naturally replied and usually one of them would say something to start a conversation but she had been busy from almost the second she woke up today and hadn’t gotten to see if he’d texted her back. The people her father associated with did not generally take kindly to a teenage girl on her phone all day even if she wasn’t listening to them anyway.

Surprisingly there was only a text from around two hours ago asking how the meetings were going, she thought it was sweet he always remembered what she told him she was up to for the day. She texted back “So boring” and then facetimed him immediately.
“Hey Cleo, how's the queen of my heart?” He asked.
“Deuce I have wasted my Saturday listening to boring old people, I need you over here now!” she declared dramatically. He chuckled,
“Ok Cleo i’m getting my things now.” She could see him collect things as she went into her bathroom and started removing make-up. She was about to tell him about her day when there was a knock on her door. “Ok Deucey i’ll see you when you get here, someone’s calling me. Windows open, love you!” She blew him a kiss before he could respond and hung up going to open her bedroom door.
“Daddy! What a lovely surprise, I didn’t see enough of you today.” She said sarcastically.
“Cleo, I neglected to tell you that the comet crystal gala is coming up once again. We are of course expected to go.”
“But there is no comet? What’s the point?” Cleo asked.
“To honour our history and scaritage Cleo.” He stated. “We will be heading to Boo York Friday and the gala is next Saturday. We will be flying down on Friday evening after you finish school for the day so you will need to be packed and ready to go beforehand.” Cleo nodded along. Her and Deuce had plans to play a new videogame he bought and for him to cook for her, but if she could convince her dad to let him come along that could work too she thought, they could play the videogame the weekend after. “The Ptolomleys will once again be there, Seth Ptolomley will be there with Catty Noir. As such I expect you will wish to invite Deuce, you may but he must behave understood?”
“Of course Daddy.” Cleo almost showed her shock, internally she was incredibly excited and a little smug she didn’t even have to try to convince him, but she thought her father hated Deuce. She did feel a little less anxious about Deuce and her dad being around each other. Deuce didn’t intentionally do anything but her father often took things the wrong way and acted as if he was being rude and disrespectful. Deuce once looked away from him because someone knocked his glasses and Deuce didn’t want to turn his future father in law to stone and Ramses got very upset, not about the stone part, just Deuce looking away. That being said, if he said Cleo could bring Deuce maybe he’d started to come around? She doubted that but hoped her father would at least see Deuce was the love of her life and nothing was changing that.

Cleo finished wiping off her makeup and doing her skincare routine and was just about to pick out pyjama’s when Deuce came in through her window. “Deucy!” She almost squealed, he made her act like a schoolgirl with a crush, she kinda was a schoolgirl but this was beyond a crush this was the love of her life and every time she saw him she felt pure joy. “Hey Cleo! How’s the love of my life?”
“Infinitely better how that you’re here.” she said rushing over to him. He hugged her into his chest and they stood there for a while. “Do you want me to close the window?” Deuce asked, not moving an inch. “Unless its bothering you I don’t care, I never want to move again.” She sighed contently. “It was horrible Deucey, business men talking business. None of them had any fashion sense and they just wanted to find ways to make even more money, they should use that money to buy a dress sense.” she scoffed. “And they kept asking Nefera and I for our opinions on the most boring things, everytime I had an opinion they told me to be quiet. And I couldn’t be on my phone to at least text you it was torture. I haven’t seen you since yesterday.”
“I snuck into your window last night for a bit, technically you saw me this morning when I left.”
“Deuce, I'm a princess. I need my beauty sleep and nothing wakes me up, you know this. I just woke up to an empty bed and sadness because I missed youuuu.” she whined.
“Well I'm here now. Come on.” Deuce said, picking her up and plopping her onto her bed. He closed the window then took off his shoes and climbed in next to her. “Should we put on pj’s?” He asked her. “In a minute in a minute.” she assured him. “By the way, Deucey, you'll never believe what happened today. There was one good thing other than you.”
“Did one of your fathers businessmen friends' heads explode from being to into business?”
“Sadly no.”
“That would have been rad.”
“It would have. But no, it was somehow better.”
“WHAT?” Deuce was actually shocked.
“There’s a gala next saturday. Daddy TOLD me to invite you. He said since Pharaoh will bring Catty ‘I expect you will wish to bring Deuce’ and of course I do. I want to bring you everywhere I go. Put you in my pocket and give you kisses.” she smiled, kissing his nose as one of his snakes kissed the top of her head.”
“Well we better start packing then?”
“In a minute in a minute.” she said sleepily.
“Cleo don’t fall asleep you don’t wanna fall asleep in jeans.” Deuce said.
“I’ll just take off my jeans, I'm not moving.” she said, not even moving to take off her jeans.
“If you say to babe.” Deuce said. He kissed the top of her head and got up to get pj’s out of a drawer in her walk-in robe that she had graciously cleared out for him. She’d really just made space by taking things to his house and he made space by taking things to hers. Perfect system for them both.

When he came back, true to her word Cleo had thrown her jeans along with her bra to the ground and was already asleep. Deuce just realised then she was wearing one of his shirts, he totally thought he’d lost that shirt and was upset about it. But what Cleo wanted she got. He climbed back into bed with her, kissing the top of her head again and she snuggled into his chest. “We’ll pack in the morning.” Cleo muttered before falling fully asleep.
