Over and over

Summary:

Reader has been through so much, trapped in the crushing depths of the ocean, where every breath feels like a battle against the weight of the world. They've faced death over and over, each time waking up to the same suffocating darkness, more worn down than before. There was a time when they thought they found a friend, a glimmer of hope in the endless night, someone who understood the pain. But that hope was ripped away, leaving them feeling more alone than ever. Now, they know the harsh truth—trust is a fragile thing, and opening your heart only leads to more hurt. The loneliness is crushing, but it's safer to be alone than to risk the pain of betrayal again.

Chapter Text

Reader had seen it all—the endless corridors, the crushing silence, and the ever-present dread that lurked in the shadows. With every step they took, the weight of the facility's dark, cold walls seemed to press down on them, but they had no choice but to keep moving. They clung to the hope that maybe, just maybe, they'd find something that would lead them out of this nightmare.

The file documents and supplies they gathered along the way were supposed to be part of the escape plan, but each one felt like just another dead end. Still, Reader pressed on, knowing that stopping meant certain death. The creatures that haunted this place were always close, their monstrous noises echoing through the halls, growing louder and more ominous with each passing second.

As Reader pushed through another door, the metal creaked ominously, sending a shiver down their spine. Their heart pounded in their chest, the fear of the unknown growing with every step. But they kept going, forcing themselves to focus on the task at hand. If they could just find the Crystal, they could finally escape this place.

But the danger was never far behind. Out of nowhere, the Angler attacked, its glowing lure casting an eerie light in the darkness. Reader barely had time to react, diving into a shadowed corner just as the creature lunged. They held their breath, praying the monster wouldn't find them. After what felt like an eternity, the Angler moved on, leaving Reader trembling but alive.

They continued their journey, the memory of that close call etched into their mind. Finally, they found the room where the Crystal was kept. It was a sight to behold—a beautiful, radiant blue light that seemed almost out of place in this nightmare. Reader reached out with trembling hands, carefully placing the Crystal in the container. For the first time in what felt like forever, hope flickered in their chest.

But as they turned to leave, the world shattered around them. A sharp pain pierced their chest, and they stumbled, dropping the container. It hit the ground with a sickening thud, the Crystal rolling away as Reader collapsed. They looked down to see blood pooling beneath them, their breath coming in short, ragged gasps.

They tried to reach for the Crystal, their fingers brushing against it before their strength gave out. As their vision blurred, the last thing they saw was the Crystal's glow fading into the darkness.

“…ah fuck..”

Leading onto the table as you tired look up to the light flickering.

“It better to die soon than being eating by Angle” you chuckle

In the end, there was no escape for Reader. With their final breath, all hope was extinguished in the cold, unfeeling depths.

“It cold tonight…”
