Summary
Set during the benighted Season 4, Lila and Five get trapped in the timeline subway system and do their best to try to find a way back to their family. Instead of Five letting himself fall for her, he chooses a tried and true apocalypse coping mechanism and I quash the entire Five/Lila romance and send it to the Void where it belongs. Our two favorite frenemies remain just that and Five uses his big brain to get them home and deal with the latest catastrophe facing his family and the world at large.

“You may be right, Ben, you’re not the brother I grew up with. We don’t really share much in common except our initial origin and a childhood dominated by Reginald Hargreeves and his crackpot superhero fantasies. I know you don’t see any of us as your real siblings and that’s ok, you don’t have to, and we need to move beyond trying to turn you into ‘our Ben’. It’s not possible, I see that now, I do. But, there’s more to you than the Sparrow Academy and your time there. That’s all gone now, just like the Umbrella Academy. And the only people who really understand what you’ve been through, what shaped you, are right here in this room.” Five shrugged and his expression softened. “You can be a member of this family if you want to, you’re welcome here, but nobody’s going to force you. It’s your decision.”
That seemed to take the wind out of Ben’s sails rather abruptly. “I…” he cleared his throat and began again, “It’s not like I have anywhere else to go. I’m on probation.”
She knew an excuse when she heard one and that one might as well have been surrounded by blinking neon lights spelling out, ‘Don’t make me leave, I need you.’
