Megumi’s pregnant and Sukuna would do everything for him, even if it means finding mooncakes at 3am on a Tuesday. In the middle of February.

Work Text:

“I want mooncakes,” was the first thing Sukuna heard when he was shaken awake by his husband, far earlier than he was supposed to.

“What?” he asked groggily, trying to make sense of the world around him. A harsh light suddenly hit his face and Sukuna was forced to open his eyes, squinting as he tried to make sense of his surroundings.

Megumi – his beautiful, could-never-do-any-wrong, perfect and sweet angel husband – was leaning over him with a frown, hair disheveled from tossing and turning in bed. His body somewhat blocked some of the light coming from the bedside lamp, which Sukuna was thankful for, but he could definitely make out the frustrated look on his husband’s face.

“I said, I want mooncakes,” Megumi repeated, and Sukuna rubbed his eyes as he processed his words.

Being woken up by Megumi asking for all different sorts of food wasn’t uncommon. Not for the past three months, when he’d hit nine weeks of pregnancy and suddenly no foods were off limits, and especially so when he reached his second trimester and his cravings became all the more intense.

There was no rhyme or reason to them; sometimes Megumi wanted something simple that Sukuna could easily throw together in their kitchen, and sometimes he wanted something so incredibly specific he had no choice but to go out in the middle of the night and get it for him, even if he’d already been half on his way to sleep.

One time it’d been pickled cucumber with peanut butter and soy sauce and a side of cream cheese – easy; another time it had been french fries from the kebab place down the street topped with the artisanal ice cream from a shop on the other end of the city, which had been considerably harder given that both shops were due to close in less than an hour. Still, Sukuna always found a way.

Now, hearing that Megumi wanted mooncakes of all things at 3am on a Tuesday in the middle of February was…

“Baby, I think they only sell them in October,” he said, finally able to fully set his eyes on the beautiful vision before him.

Said vision was, however, visibly displeased. “I’m sure they’re sold all year round,” he argued, eyes quickly filling with tears.

Hormones. Lots and lots of them. Megumi had never been particularly forward with his feelings, always hiding behind a mask of indifference. He didn’t do it with Sukuna, at least not anymore, having mostly grown out of that habit in the years they’d been together; still, he didn’t often wear his heart so openly on his sleeve. At least, not until his pregnancy.

Megumi hated it, the way he couldn’t hide how he felt anymore. And Sukuna was so, so weak to all of it.

Resigned to his fate, Sukuna pulled Megumi down by the nape so he could kiss him, warm and sweet, before letting him go so he could hoist himself out of bed. He threw on a pair of gray sweatpants and a sweater, fishing a beanie from one of the drawers on their dresser, and walked back to the bed so he could kiss Megumi again, chastely, stroking his cheek as they parted.

“I’ll try to be quick,” Sukuna murmured, watching affectionately as Megumi burrowed himself under the warm covers, making himself comfortable to wait for him to come back. “Any particular filling you want?”

“Red bean,” Megumi mumbled, already halfway to sleep. This was also not an uncommon occurrence; Megumi would often fall asleep while Sukuna left to get whatever he’d asked for, whether it took him ten minutes or a whole hour, waking up happily when Sukuna brought him food to the bed.

Tonight, that would actually work in Sukuna’s favor.

Kuro and Shiro perked up when they heard him leave the bedroom but didn’t get up from where they were sleeping on the couch, all too used to Sukuna’s nightly trips to stores. Sukuna quickly slid on his thick winter jacket and boots and headed out, whispering to the dogs to “take care of him while I’m gone”, and left to face the cold outside.

There was a thin layer of ice on their car’s windshield when he got to it, and he shivered as he sat inside the car, waiting for it to warm up and start melting the ice after he turned on the engine.

He headed to Chinatown, knowing that would be his best bet – if there was any place where he could find ready-made mooncakes outside of Mid Autumn Festival season, that would definitely be the place – and started his search, going from konbini to konbini. Unfortunately, after his 6th attempt, he was forced to face the fact that he wasn’t going to have any luck.

Change of strategy it was. A quick google search and 10 minutes later, Sukuna walked out of his 7th konbini of the night with a bag full of ingredients needed to make the fastest mooncakes on earth. Ready-made red bean paste, ingredients for the dough, golden syrup and a mold. The things he did for Megumi.

As expected, the apartment was completely silent when he walked back in, trying to be as quiet as possible. There was a faint glow coming from under the closed bedroom door, but the fact that Megumi hadn’t texted him at all in the time he’d been gone and wasn’t already leaving the bedroom to check on him was enough of a sign that he could peacefully do his work in the kitchen.

Sukuna had never made mooncakes before, but he found it wasn’t quite as difficult as he’d thought it would be.

Mixing cake flour with vegetable oil, lye water and golden syrup until it became a soft dough, refrigerating it for just long enough for it to harden, working on the filling – adding salted egg yolks that he’d gotten at the konbini and encasing them in the right amount of red bean paste – and then putting everything together carefully, using the mold and more flour to make sure it was perfect.

The good thing was mooncakes didn’t need to bake for very long – six to seven minutes max –, so it wasn’t long before Sukuna was taking out two trays of mooncakes out of the oven, oven clock already reading 4:45am. Megumi slept on, blissfully unaware of how long it’d been since he’d woken his husband up with pleas for mooncakes, and Sukuna carefully inspected each one.

Some of them had cracked a little while baking, but looked good otherwise. Sukuna filled two plates with mooncakes – he’d freeze whatever would be left after he and Megumi ate so he could have them ready for when he remembered wanting them again – and carried one of the plates to the bedroom, blowing kisses in the air to Kuro and Shiro who perked up once more when he walked by them, sniffing the air as they no doubt noticed the freshly baked smell of the mooncakes.

He opened the bedroom door quietly as he slowly walked in, taking in the sight of a still sleeping Megumi burrowed under the bed covers, breathing softly as he slept turned towards Sukuna’s empty side of the bed.

Sukuna set the plate on his nightstand and slid back into bed, brushing hair out of Megumi’s forehead as he leaned in to kiss his cheek. He didn’t want Megumi to startle awake, wanted him to wake up just as peacefully as he currently slept.

“Baby,” he whispered, pressing soft kisses to his eyelids, his cheek, his jaw, anywhere he could reach, “wake up.”

Megumi groaned softly, hands flying towards Sukuna’s sweater, eyelashes fluttering as he fought against waking up. “S’kuna?” he mumbled, pressing himself closer to him, nuzzling his cheek against his neck.

“I’m back, baby,” he murmured, kissing his forehead, stroking his cheek, “did you sleep well?”

“Mmmmmmm,” was all Megumi said, burying his face in his neck, arms wrapped tight around him like he wasn’t intending on ever letting go again. Sukuna certainly wouldn’t mind it if he never did. All too soon, however, Megumi was tensing in his arms, pulling away– “Did you get the mooncakes?”

Sukuna laughed, having already expected something like this, and helped Megumi sit up, fluffing up the pillows so he could recline against them comfortably. He was only five months along but Sukuna had started fussing over him since practically day one, always wanting to do everything for him and make sure he always had everything he needed.

They’d wanted a baby for the longest time.

Back in university, when they’d first stumbled into each other at the first year dorms – Sukuna, helping his brother move in; Megumi, rooming with said brother –, neither of them had envisioned any sort of future together. Sukuna had just graduated from Culinary school and was stuck doing dishes at a local restaurant, whereas Megumi was fresh out of high school and more worried about keeping his scholarship than anything else.

They’d noticed each other – Sukuna had definitely noticed Megumi, with eyes so green he feared he’d get lost in them and mouth near permanently curved into the cutest pout; Fushiguro Megumi had peaked his interest, even if that’s all it’d been at the time – but that had been it; two people far too worried about trying to keep the seams of their lives together to worry about anyone else, only to end up running into each other at a Halloween party.

Sukuna had barely been able to make it, having been called in to work an extra shift because someone had bailed; Megumi hadn’t really wanted to go but Yuuji had dragged him anyway. Their eyes had met across the room when Sukuna was realizing he was far too old to be at a college party and Megumi was trying to sneak out without being obvious, and that had been that. 1 + 1 = 2 and Megumi had spent his night at Sukuna’s studio apartment and that had been that.

They’d dated on and off during Megumi’s college years – more on than off and with Megumi spending more nights at his place than in his own dorm room –, neither of them wanting to label something they thought they couldn’t really keep. Sukuna worked late more than enough times and moved up at work, Megumi kept his scholarship and his good grades at the expense of his own sleeping schedule; when Megumi graduated and time came for him to decide what to do, Sukuna finally got his head out of his own ass and asked him to move in with him.

Shortly after, maybe a year into their new living situation – with a solid label attached to it – Sukuna finally mentioned it. The future.

“I never really thought about it,” Megumi admitted, snuggled up to him on the couch, practically in his laps, “I didn’t even think I’d have this. What about you?” he asked, looking up at him, “what do you want?”

And Sukuna hadn’t really known; he’d been willing to go along with whatever Megumi wanted, because he’d only ever wanted to make him happy. So they left it at that, a conversation they could revisit if either of them ever decided they wanted to, and that was that.

In the next few days, however, Sukuna realized he did want a family. Kids. A van to drive them to school. The whole shebang. He’d be driving to work and there’d be a little kid crossing the road with one of their parents. He’d be walking into their building and a little kid would be waving at him from where they were being carried by one of their parents. Or one of their coworkers would announce a pregnancy and show everyone the ultrasound, excited as only an expectant parent could be.

“I really want us to have kids,” he eventually told Megumi, drunk off his ass after a rare night out, slurring his words and laying his head on Megumi’s shoulder as they were driven home by a taxi driver. “I want it to be a girl.”

Megumi – surprisingly more sober than Sukuna – had only chuckled, patting his head affectionately. “We’ll talk about it tomorrow when you’re sober.”

They’d talked and the conclusion had still been the same, and a couple of years later when they’d both been more established in their careers, comfortable enough that either of them taking time off wouldn’t be a financial struggle, they started trying.

It took them a long time. 11 months to be exact. Nearly a whole year.

Sukuna started dreading the days Megumi took pregnancy tests because he didn’t know if he could bear to look at Megumi’s crestfallen expression one more time, tears gathering in his eyes as he stubbornly refused to let them fall.

And then one day, after dozens of negative tests and countless trips to the ob/gyn, Megumi turned around to face him with a very different expression on his face.

That day, Megumi let his tears fall freely. Sukuna cried for the first time.

And now–

“Oh my god,” Megumi exclaimed, mouth half stuffed with a mooncake, “these are amazing. Sukuna, babe– where did you get these?” he asked, eyes wide open with excitement. “We need to get these more often!”

“I made them,” he said, the corners of his mouth quirking up with amusement at Megumi’s gobsmacked expression.

“You– but it takes so long–” Megumi said, staring mournfully at the half full plate of mooncakes in front of him. “It’s so late. Were they out?”

“Sweetheart, it’s February,” Sukuna said, letting out a laugh at Megumi’s pout, “they don’t sell them year round in most places, and especially not at this time of night.”

“You could have– gotten me something else,” Megumi murmured, gaze fixed on the plate so he could avoid Sukuna’s, “it would have been fine.”

“You wanted mooncakes,” was all Sukuna said, reaching towards the plate and taking one for himself. They were good. He’d never had one and didn’t know what they were supposed to taste like, but they were good; that much he knew. Seeing as Megumi’s eyes were still downcast, shoulders hunched over to make himself smaller as he looked sadly at the plate, Sukuna bumped his shoulders with his to get him to look at him. “Hey, Megs,” he called out, softly; Megumi looked, finally, green meeting red and taking Sukuna’s breath away as if it were the first time, “you know I’d do anything for you. This is nothing.”

“I keep waking you up,” Megumi murmured, leaning his weight against Sukuna’s side, “making you go on these stupid food runs for me. I don’t know how you’re not tired of me yet."

“I could never get tired of you,” Sukuna said, reaching for one of his hands and interlacing their fingers together. It was true, too; he didn’t get tired of Megumi eight years earlier when they first started going out and Megumi either avoided him or clung to him, he didn’t get tired of Megumi three years later when he broke up with him and then showed up drunk at his place, crawling into his bed and crying all over his pillow, and he definitely wouldn’t get tired of him now. “Don’t you know you’re the love of my life?”

Megumi looked at him again, cheeks burning red in embarrassment, and he looked away again just as quickly. “Stop saying stuff like that,” he complained, even as his own fingers tightened around Sukuna’s. Then, quieter, “you’re the love of my life.”

Sukuna woke up in heaven. At least, that was what it felt like.

Megumi was waking him up once again before his usual time, but this time for a very different reason. Waking up to the glorious sight of his husband straddling his lap while pressing wet, open mouthed kisses to his naked chest was something Sukuna would never complain about.

“Morning,” he murmured, slowly carding his fingers through Megumi’s hair, watching fondly as Megumi stopped to lay his head on his chest instead, looking up at him from under long lashes. “What are you up to?”

“Nothing,” Megumi said, innocently, batting his eyelashes at him just so. “Just saying hi.”

“Come here,” Sukuna said, already placing a large hand on Megumi’s nap and bringing him up, up, up, locking their lips together in a sweet, chaste kiss. Megumi pulled away only to lean in again, head angled and lips parted just enough for his tongue to seek entrance into Sukuna’s mouth.

Sukuna let him lead the pace, take control; Megumi’s hips started moving, his crotch grinding against Sukuna’s morning erection, hands finding purchase in Sukuna’s firm chest. Sukuna was all too happy to let him do what he wanted – for now, at least –, letting himself lie back and hold on to Megumi’s hips, watching as Megumi sat up and teased himself, grinding their clothed crotches together.

Megumi was already soaked, that much he could tell, underwear already damp and creating a wet spot on Sukuna’s briefs as he moved his body over his.

“Is this all you want?” he asked, raising an eyebrow when Megumi let out a breathy moan as he angled his hips just right, though obviously still frustrated.

“I want more,” Megumi whined, never ceasing his movements. “Sukuna…” he groaned out, splaying both palms on Sukuna’s abs so he could change the angle.

Sukuna surged up then, bringing their chests flush together so he could kiss Megumi again, slide his hands under the hem of his sweater and feel the warmth of his skin. Megumi was breaking their kiss all too soon, eagerly raising his arms so Sukuna could pull his sweater off, reeling Megumi in back for another kiss right afterwards.

Megumi’s movements were more desperate now, the outline of his cunt visible through the soaked underwear as it clung tightly to his body like a second skin. Their underwear came off easily, Megumi lifting his hips so Sukuna could slide his briefs down, only to push Sukuna back down to lie on his back so he could work on removing his underwear too.

He wasted no time in lying back on top of Sukuna, chest on chest and legs wide open, rubbing his wet cunt over Sukuna’s hard cock. There was something to be said about the way Sukuna held himself back from simply picking Megumi up and fucking him whatever each way he wanted to, especially so when Megumi kept doing that, teasing the head of his cock every so often, enveloping him in his wet heat only to slip away again.

His hands dug into the meat of Megumi’s hips in an attempt to ground himself, but when his cockhead caught in Megumi’s cunt again and Megumi squirmed, trying to tease him further, he finally steeled his grip to get him to stop moving.

“Sukuna,” Megumi whined, catching his lips in another kiss, and Sukuna bent his knees to gain leverage, thrusting up and burying himself to the hilt in one swift motion. Megumi gasped into his mouth, hips forcibly stilled as Sukuna started to fuck into him, almost at a languid pace.

“More,” Megumi pleaded, hands clutching at his biceps, his shoulders, trying to ground himself, “Sukuna–”

“Calm down,” Sukuna said, keeping his tortuous pace, a wicked glint in his eyes as he got to be the one torturing Megumi now, “weren’t you teasing me so happily earlier? I thought this was what you wanted.”

Megumi’s fingers dug painfully into his biceps as he tried to fuck himself on Sukuna’s cock, gain more friction, go deeper, but Sukuna’s hands kept him in place. “I didn’t mean to,” he whimpered, eyes close to tears, “Sukuna, please.”

While he liked to tease and manhandle Megumi into being fucked in whatever position he wanted, Sukuna was, at his core, a pitiful man. A pitiful, pitiful man whose baser instincts led him time and time again to doing Megumi’s bidding, which was how he found himself flipping Megumi around to lie on his stomach, swollen belly resting on the softer pillow they had. Megumi’s legs trembled so much Sukuna’s tight grip was the only thing keeping him from falling flat onto the bed.

“Was this what you wanted?” Sukuna asked, moving one hand to Megumi’s hair so he could bring his face up from where it was buried in a small mountain of pillows, forcing him closer to him. “Did you want me to fuck you hard?”

“Yeah,” Megumi mewled, fucking himself back, bringing his arms up to be on all fours, “yeah, fuck, want you to– get me pregnant again–”

“Fuck,” Sukuna groaned, Megumi’s words sending a jolt straight down his dick, grinding his hips into his to try and fuck him even deeper, trying to hit his womb, “fuck, you’re so fucking filthy,” he swore, moving his hand from Megumi’s hair to his throat, cutting his airflow just enough to make him deliciously dizzy with want. “I’m gonna fuck you so hard I’ll fuck a new baby into you,” he babbled, thrusts speeding up, barely even pulling out in his haste, “‘m gonna keep you pregnant all the time,” Megumi moaned, arching his back to deepen the angle. “Bet you’d like that, huh? Always round and swollen with my seed, being pampered 24/7.”

Megumi whimpered, sobbing as Sukuna’s thrusts sped up, fucking himself back as best as he could. “Sukuna,” he pleaded, turning his head to look at him with tear filled eyes.

Sukuna knew what he wanted, what he needed. His hand left his throat and he draped himself over his back, arm reaching around so he could rub at his swollen clit, his thumb gliding with ease from the slick Megumi had spread earlier with his grinding.

In no time, Megumi was cumming, cunt spasming around Sukuna’s dick, nearly taking Sukuna with him. Sukuna kept up his pace, feeling his orgasm near, still rubbing his thumb over Megumi’s clit. One thrust, two, three and he was cumming too, balls tightening as he spilled his warm load into Megumi’s insides.

They stayed as they were for a few minutes, panting harshly and trying to regain their breath. Beads of sweat dripped down from Sukuna’s face onto Megumi’s neck and he watched them trail down further, further, disappearing from view. Megumi whimpered when he pulled out his cock, cum immediately dripping down to his inner thighs and pooling below him on the sheets.

He was immediately on Megumi then, drawing him into his arms and making sure he was okay, “does anything hurt”, “was I too rough”, “is the baby okay”, and Megumi just sat there, closing his eyes as Sukuna’s fingers gently carded through his hair, humming softly to let him know everything was okay.

Sukuna got started on breakfast after carrying Megumi to the shower and stripping the sheets from the bed, throwing them in the washing machine for later. Megumi settled on the couch, bundled in blankets and flanked on either side by Kuro and Shiro, who would need to be walked – later –, skin still flushed from the hot water and damp hair already starting to stick up everywhere.

He was beautiful. Sukuna loved him so much his heart ached sometimes.

They had grilled fish and miso soup for breakfast, paired with some ginger tea, and afterwards Megumi ran to the guest bathroom and threw it all up while Sukuna rubbed his back. He’d mostly gotten rid of his morning sickness after entering his second trimester but sometimes, when he particularly overindulged in his cravings late at night, he still felt queasy in the mornings.

Sukuna walked him back to the couch afterwards, Megumi leaning his weight almost entirely against him, and they settled there quietly, peacefully, Sukuna brushing damp hair off his forehead – either still from the shower or from the cold sweat of throwing up, he didn’t know – and pressing soft kisses all over his face, rubbing his back as they waited for the queasiness to vanish.

“You’re so good to me,” Megumi murmured, eyes closed as he rested his head on his shoulder, nearly halfway gone to sleep again, “I love you.”

Sukuna squeezed his side, leaned down to kiss his forehead again as best as he could without displacing him, “I love you too.”
