Izuku was absolutely thrilled with his current stalker.

Certain instincts never truly fade away, even as people continue to evolve. Primitive alpha used to steal omegas away from their overly protective packs, take them to their dens to mate, and eventually bond. Any alpha who was unsuccessful at this did not get to pass down their genes—plain and simple survival of the fittest.

Omegas came to crave these “stalkerish” traits in prospective mates. The alphas who pursued them with fervor were often the strongest, the best hunters, capable of providing not just for themselves but for their pack and future pups.

For a short period, society attempted to quell these urges by promoting arranged marriages as the new norm, but their efforts were ultimately in vain.

In the modern era, there’s no longer any shame associated with pursuing these instincts, as omegas have evolved to possess powerful quirks, usually able to avoid or outright overpower any unwanted suitor. On top of that, major cities now offer self-defense classes specifically designed for omegas; most department stores are stocked full of new products marketed to help protect omegas against their stalkers, from military-grade collars equipped with tracking features to alarm systems that instantly alert the authorities (as breaking and entering is still a crime due to burglaries), and more.

Being plain-faced and quirkless meant that Izuku never received the same amount of attention other omegas his age did. Even so, he promised himself to never lower his standards. The stalker he envisioned had to be more than just persistent; they needed to be cunning, stealthy, and—most importantly—patient. He wanted someone who would relish the hunt, not just swoop in impulsively.

Izuku's favorite romance mangas always featured a layer of suspense, where the protagonists remained constantly vigilant and on guard. And the moment they made the smallest error—like forgetting to activate the eye scanner on their back door—was often the moment they’d get taken.

The love interests in these stories were nothing short of perfection. They demonstrated just how observant an alpha needed to be to catch them off guard.

He longed for a stalker who would exhibit an alarming level of attentiveness, someone who would study his movements meticulously, noticing every minute detail of his routine.

Kind of like his stepfather.

Izuku’s mother had gotten pregnant with him while still in high school and made the choice to move in with her first stalker, Hisashi Midoriya, who had been her upperclassman at the time.

Izuku’s sire had been young and overly confident, so sure that no one would want to steal his omega now that she had his pup. But then came his never-ending business trips, and when Izuku was only five, Inko caught the eye of the chief of police, Toshinori Yagi.

Their courtship was perfect.

He began sending her flowers and chocolates, paid for her groceries in advance—as he had memorized her shopping list—and sent the store the exact amount she needed. He even went so far as to gift Izuku sold-out action figures for his birthday and arranged for his officers to patrol their street every day.

Then came the day when his mother went into preheat, and Toshinori snatched her away. Meanwhile, Izuku was left at the apartment in the custody of his subordinate, Sasaki, who had set up a camera to send a live video feed to his mother, ensuring he was well cared for during her absence.

It’s no wonder why Izuku's dam decided to let the older alpha claim her. Once her cycle was over, Izuku was dropped off at the Yagi residence and began to live with his new family.

The older alpha made sure everything was ready for both of their arrivals; Izuku’s new room was nearly identical to his old one, only much larger and filled with even more toys. Whatever Yagi couldn’t replace, he sent his officers to retrieve.

Eventually, Hisashi did come back to find an empty, dusty apartment. Seeing as he never officially married Inko or gave her a mating bite, the police department didn’t take his complaints seriously. Truthfully they wouldn’t have helped him even if he did have any legitimate claim– not when their chief was so happy. So naturally Izuku found himself growing up with some serious expectations .

And luckily for him, Izuku’s newest suitor was delivering in spades.

The usually overly cautious omega wasn’t even aware someone was stalking him at first, only noticing unusual activity on his social media accounts—a couple of blank accounts had started following him.

Well, they were easy to block, and Izuku dismissed them as just a couple of bots.

That was until an app on his phone alerted him that he had been crossing paths with a new person more often than what was considered normal.

Okay, still nothing too out of the ordinary; it could just be someone who started to share the same commute as Izuku. It’s happened a couple of times before, much to the omega's disappointment.

Gradually, his new suitor started becoming bolder, leaving things like Izuku’s favorite candies and snacks on his work desk, or stealing and then replacing small items of his– like his favorite pen that was running low on ink, a partially used chapstick– they even fixed his squeaky office chair.

While these were nice, and Izuku certainly appreciated each gift, he still found himself waiting for a big romantic gesture—something that said, “You are my obsession, my every waking thought, and I won’t stop until I have you.”

And soon enough, he got it.

One morning, Izuku woke up feeling groggier than usual. Instinctively, he sat up and reached for his phone, which he always kept on his nightstand, but it wasn’t there.

In its place was a glass of water and a Polaroid picture underneath it.

Moving the cup out of the way, Izuku recognized the photo was of himself in deep sleep, mouth slightly opened in mid snore, his face inches away from the head of someone’s cock.

He got in.

The stalker managed to actually get into his apartment, bypassing all his locks, the door stopper, the chain and the–

Izuku sniffed around but found no foreign scent.

Could the alpha be using powerful scent blockers? Or did he have a naturally subtle aroma? Was it part of his quirk? Whatever it was, Izuku found himself very impressed and in need of a cold shower.

There was a certain thrill in going to work that morning.

The green-haired omega didn’t want to appear too pleased about what he’d discovered; that wouldn’t do at all. Instead, he was curious to see if the alpha could pull off the same feat again, perhaps with more obstacles in the way.

Would he be deterred, or would he try again and again, all for Izuku?

If his stalker was as meticulous as Izuku hoped he’d be, his apartment would already be bugged, and his electronics tampered with by now. Yes, he could easily do a sweep of his apartment to weed out any cameras and consult his company’s IT department to remove any spyware that could have been added to his phone and laptop.

But Izuku wanted to let the alpha believe that he was clueless, to lull him into a false sense of security, because Izuku was ready to test him.

He wanted to see how far his stalker would be willing to go for him.

So for about a week, Izuku went about his daily schedule as normal, stopping by a few stores to buy more stalker deterrents: a long adjustable door security bar, a smaller one for his bedroom window, and thicker curtains that he made sure to shut every night, wearing a fake frown on his face to keep up the charade.

Meanwhile, he borrowed a company laptop, claiming he’d “forgotten” his own at home, and searched for apartments labeled “Omega Friendly”—code for “we’re safer than a damn security vault and offer month-to-month rentals.”—during his lunch breaks.

He created a fake email to send the apartment listings to his mom, asking her to check them out for him.  If it met her standards, she could pay for the deposit and first month’s rent, and Izuku would pay her back as soon as he could.

Luckily, Izuku’s dam agreed without asking too many questions. After verifying that it was him, she insisted he didn’t have to pay her back, and a move-in date was quickly set.

Honestly, the omega didn’t expect to stay there for too long; he was confident his stalker wouldn’t keep him waiting.

Still, Izuku didn’t want to stay somewhere with little to no comforts. So he started ordering small necessary items to be sent to the apartment building in advance, using his fake email and busting out a debit card his stepfather had given him nearly four years ago. It was linked to his stepfather's bank account, allowing Izuku to withdraw money whenever he wanted. He never did because Izuku already felt like he owed his stepfather so much, an exception could be made just this once.

He picked out cozy pajamas, plush pillows, a fluffy comforter set with matching pillowcases, oversized shirts, leggings, and even a few lingerie sets in his favorite colors.

You know, just in case he received an “unexpected” visitor.

For now, the omega had to go through his nightly ritual of securing every possible entrance: locking all doors, closing the blinds and curtains, activating his new alarm system—which would  start beeping as soon as the front door or windows were opened and automatically call Yagi if Izuku didn’t disarm it using the system's app on his phone within three minutes—and setting up a small, harmless tripwire that also had to be disarmed to stop its loud alarm.

As Izuku laid his head down, he could only pray his alpha would find a way to sweep him away.

A week later, the green-haired omega once again woke up with his limbs feeling weaker than usual, though this time his head was a lot fuzzier and eyelids heavier as he tried to blink away the last remnants of sleep.

Slowly, Izuku sat up properly and glanced over toward his nightstand.

Another Polaroid picture lay there, proof that someone had been inside Izuku’s apartment—someone who had managed to bypass even his inconspicuous trap set. A purr began forming in Izuku’s throat as he shakily picked up the small photo.

Like before, the photo showed a sleeping Izuku, but this time his lips took up the majority of the frame, with a stranger's thumb rubbing white liquid off of the omega's bottom lip.  Instinctively, Izuku’s tongue darted out to swipe at the same area but found nothing.

His stalker had made sure to clean up after himself, leaving no trace behind—not even a whisper of an unfamiliar scent.

A tear slipped down Izuku’s cheek as he continued to stare at the photo. On one hand, he was so fortunate to have someone after him who truly gave it their all to invade his personal space, his safe haven, but on the other, it was staring to feel like he was being toyed with.

All he was getting were pictures now.

Why couldn’t the alpha at least give him a courting gift like before, when he had left treats at Izuku’s workplace?

He was good enough to get a facial but not worthy enough for a damn scented blanket?

Or even another candy bar?

The omega briefly wondered if he was dealing with two separate suitors. It was certainly possible but very odd that neither had at least attempted to steal him away at this point.

Allowing himself a little more time to wallow in self-pity, Izuku finally got out of bed, resolved to leave for his secret apartment today. Either his stalker would go after him and finally claim Izuku, or he’d take the hint that the omega did not appreciate how the courting was going and back off.

Izuku did his usual morning routine to a T—nothing out of the ordinary, not doing anything that might tip his alpha off about his plans. Purposefully leaving his phone and laptop behind, Izuku left with just his standard work shoulder bag strapped across his chest. He took the same train as always and got off at the same stop, except this morning he didn’t rush out of the station to get to work.

Instead, he slipped into the restrooms to wait a bit, applying some extra-strength scent patches before boarding a completely different train—one that took him to the next prefecture. From there, he took a bus to a nearby konbini, where he picked up some essentials: chips, mineral water, a couple of steamed buns, korokkes, a bento box, a toothbrush and toothpaste, face wash, moisturizer, and face masks. Once that was paid for, Izuku trekked to his modest one-bedroom apartment in a quiet, unassuming part of town.

He received his keys quickly after showing his ID to the receptionist, who also informed him that all his packages had been placed inside his apartment by management for his convenience, which was nice.

Upon entering his apartment, Izuku immediately scrunched his nose; the chemically neutral smell of the place made him want to sneeze.

Stripping off his scent patches, Izuku allowed his own scent to flow out, clinging to the furniture and walls. That entire afternoon was spent unboxing all his new purchases, arranging everything just so, adding small touches to make the place feel like home. By 8 o’clock, the omega was ready to call it a night and snuggle into his new bed- exhausted but satisfied- when there came a knock on the front door.

Izuku froze.

Could it be that his stalker had already tracked him down?

He frowned and shook his head; that was silly. The alpha never entered his apartment until after Izuku was sound asleep, and he certainly never knocked before.

Wincing at the ache in his knees, Izuku stood up and made his way to the door, peeking through the peephole. To his surprise, he saw a blond man waiting outside.

Huh.
