Work Text:
A shaky hand on the shoulder of his previously pristine suit stopped Sanji from his plunder. He’d dragged his marimo away from the other members of the crew to finish their argument in private, but as soon as they turned a corner, he’d pushed Zoro up against the wall and claimed his mouth in a bruising kiss.
It was going so well. The little moans that fell from the mosshead’s mouth when they parted for air was music to his ears, a nice blush making its way from his cheeks down to his neck. Sanji so badly wanted to see how far down it could go, but a more incessant push on his shoulder made him reluctantly pull away until they were left panting with a fine line of spit still hung between them.
Sanji’s sinuses throbbed.
Zoro acted first, wiping it away with his shirt and leaving a small translucent patch that lined up perfectly with the top of his nipple. Sanji was only a man.
He made to lift up the hem of Zoro’s shirt, along with his haramaki, to get to his prize but a right hook to his jaw sent him spiraling over the railing of the Going Merry.
Zoro smirked as he heard the telltale splash of a pervert hitting the water.
Sometime later, Zoro sat nursing a cup of sake at the dining table while Chopper pleaded with him to pay attention to a presentation he had put together on the dangers of alcohol abuse. Zoro was listening but his mind wandered.
Where the hell was that shitty cook? Luffy was gonna eat Chopper at this rate if he doesn't flop his sorry ass back on the ship. Don't tell me all it took to finish him off was just a well timed punch? I could have done that forever ago.
His face turned sour as he looked past Chopper and out a porthole, not noticing the shaking frame of the young doctor who assumed that the vicious glare was directed towards him.
The kitchen door slammed open. Both he and Chopper turned to look at the drenched cook before them, who had somehow managed to drag an entire bed of seaweed back on deck and it surrounded him like a blanket. Trudging over to Zoro, he dragged him out of his seat with both hands.
“What the hell was that for?!” A stray piece of seaweed fell into Sanji’s face and he blew it back with a quick breath.
“I should be asking you the same thing, I thought you pulled me away so the girls wouldn't see you get your ass kicked.” Zoro looked him up and down and smirked. “Mosshead.”
Oh, how Sanji desperately wanted to knock that shit eating grin off his stupid face.
He should have started a delivery of swift kicks aimed at Zoro’s head, but he didn't want to be included in whatever lecture Chopper was imposing on the swordsman. Instead he took a deep breath and calmed himself, letting go of Zoro’s shirt to lower him back to where he was sitting, but didn't leave.
Lowering his mouth to Zoro’s ear, the seaweed obstructing the view from Chopper, he whispered. “Maybe I was trying to spare the ladies from seeing something, but it had nothing to do with me.”
Zoro quirked an eyebrow.
“Maybe I was trying to hide a shameless swordsman from tender eyes. A man that blushes so cutely and sounds like sin when he’s feeling it in here.” He pointed to the Marimo’s tummy. “I can’t let them see that, can I?”
Taking a step back, Sanji looked at Zoro. As expected the shit eating grin was gone, replaced by a flabbergasted expression and a blush that spread high up to the tips of his ears.
He planned on nibbling them later.
“Y-you! Get away from me!” Zoro made to hit Sanji again, trying to incapacitate him further, but the cook was smart enough to jump a foot away before his fist could connect.
Before they could start fighting in earnest, the galley door burst open again and a stretchy hand grabbed at the base of Sanji’s seaweed wig. A firm tug had him on the floor next, but thankfully free of his vegetation prison.
Luffy loomed over him while eating the offending snack.
“Sanji, this doesn't really taste all that good, you put way too much salt into this,” he said, but that didn’t stop him.
A vein twitched on Sanji’s forehead.
“Okay, that's it! Everyone get out. I’m gonna start making dinner and if you lot are still in here by the time I stand up, you're not eating.”
Luffy bolted outside the galley with Chopper not long behind him, his presentation materials firmly tucked under his arm.
Dusting off his suit as he stood, Sanji’s eyes didn’t waver as he sauntered back over to Zoro.
“That means you, too, Marimo.” He kicked the bottom of the swordsman's feet.
“I'm still finishing my drink, have some compassion for me, huh?” Zoro took another sip of his sake, giving the cook a lazy look.
“How about some compassion for me, Mossy? I'm still feeling unwell from that sucker punch, y’know.”
Leaning down, Sanji gave him his best puppy dog expression; he looked seconds away from crying.
Zoro let out an exasperated sigh, downing the rest of the drink before he corking up the bottle and straightening his swords as he stood.
Sanji shut his eyes and waited for Zoro to close the distance. A chaste kiss was placed on his cheek and before he can finish opening his eyes, Zoro was gone.
Sighing as he started the prep work for dinner, Sanji began the process of methodically washing his hands.
‘Maybe a crab risotto and fresh bread? How about cordon bleu with salad? The salad would be refreshing with some cut up fruit… But I think Luffy ate the rest of our fruit this morning, I’ll get some more at the next town. I wonder what Zoro would like.’
Sanji went about the motions of cutting vegetables while he was lost in thought, a slight frown adorning his face.
He and Zoro had gotten together not too long ago. Tired of their subtle flirting disguised as bickering and hatred, Sanji had cornered Zoro one afternoon after a particularly intense fight, slamming his foot down right next to the man’s face and blocking his escape. He had given the swordsman a rather nasty kick to the chest and, out of the goodness of his heart, went to go see if he was okay.
Zoro was especially stubborn that day, refusing to cooperate and slapping away Sanji’s hand when he got too close to his neckline. He’d finally had enough when Zoro tried to headbutt him.
Strengthening his resolve, Sanji had managed to capture both of Zoro’s hands with just one of his and used the other to lift his shirt over the green locks to tie a knot at his wrists. He’d moved his fingers along Zoro’s chest, prodding at a certain area underneath Zoro’s pec until he’d heard a quick intake of breath.
“See? I told you I had to-” Words caught in his throat as he took stock of what was happening.
Zoro’s eyes were half-lidded and glassy, a light blush dusting his cheeks and in no hurry to break out of the cook’s grip. Sanji realized that he had cornered Zoro away from the others, restrained him, and was feeling up his chest.
At this point he should have let go and apologized profusely, but instead neither of them moved.
Sanji wasn't sure who initiated the kiss but was thankful it had happened.
Zoro tasted divine, the cigarette he smoked beforehand mixing well with whatever booze Zoro had swiped from the kitchen. Sanji grew bolder as he kissed down the other man’s neck, egged on by the whimpers he’d been letting out.
Approaching footsteps shook them from their private world.
Robin had turned the corner just in time to see them both leaning nonchalantly against the wall.
“Am I interrupting something gentleman?” she’d giggled, looking them over.
“No!” they’d said in unison and then fled in opposite directions.
It’d been several months since that incident and their relationship, if you could even call it one, was stagnant. Truth be told, they hadn’t even talked about their feelings towards one another. It just never came up, after all of the stolen kisses and record breaking quick handjobs.
Sanji looked forlornly out a kitchen window as he finally decided to make an elevated fried rice dish.
In no time at all he'd plated up everyone’s portions, placing a larger cut of shrimp on top of Zoro’s mountain of rice.
Everyone filed in for dinner and he fussed about Nami and Robin, making sure they had everything they needed while serving their drinks. He could’ve sworn he felt a pair of eyes on his back, but when he whipped around he found no one staring.
“This rice is really good, Sanj!” Usopp commented, batting away stretchy fingers.
“Of course it's good, I’m the one who made it.” He bragged as he refilled Robin’s water.
“Did you use a different kind of oil?” Nami asked, getting another spoonful.
“Nami, my sweet! That's so like you to notice the small details that really make or break a recipe!” Sanji swooned as he flitted around the table.
Luffy and Usopp glanced at each other, pretending to barf while Chopper ignored them all in favor of eating.
Zoro ate some of his food but pushed most of it around the plate.
Seeing this, Sanji walked over to him and after playfully flicking his forehead he reminded him to finish his food.
“Not hungry,” Zoro grumbled out, hastily leaving the kitchen.
Everyone watched as he went and silence fell at the table.
“Is Zoro feeling okay?” Chopper asked worriedly, grains of rice stuck around his face.
“I'll bring something to him later, the rest of you just keep eating.” Sanji collected Zoro’s plate and walked it to the fridge. He’ll dress it up a bit more to Zoro’s liking when he serves it again.
Talking flowed freely once again as Nami announced that they should be approaching a new island sometime the next day.
“Do you think there'll be bad guys to fight? I'm itching to beat someone up!” Luffy’s eyes were gleaming at Nami.
A vein throbbed above her brow as she pantomimed grabby hands at his throat.
“Luffy we’ve been over this several times, every new island isn't a brawl zone for you!”
“Not even a little bit?” He pouted.
Robin placed a hand on Nami’s shoulder before she flung herself across the table at her captain.
“Anyway! The island is sparsely populated and has a variety of vegetation that a majority of the world doesn't.”
“Could any of them be medicinal?” Chopper’s ears perked up at the thought of having new herbs.
“How about cooking Nami-swan?~” Sanji’s interest grew as well.
“The only way to know for sure is dutiful exploration! There’s gotta be some treasure hidden somewhere and I’m gonna find it!.”
“I'll pack some lunches so we can all explore fully, what would you lovely ladies prefer?”
Sanji lovingly wrote down their lunch order while ignoring the other men at the table. They’d eat whatever he made anyway.
Soon enough, everyone cleared out of the galley and Sanji was alone once again. He busied himself by doing dishes while thinking of how to entice Zoro to finish his dinner. He let out a chuckle and imagined feeding a stray cat with an unholy love for rice balls. The cigarette he lit earlier created clouds of miniature hearts as he daydreamed of a green kitten rubbing up against his leg and begging for scraps.
After making sure he’d secured a lock on the fridge and Zoro’s midnight snack was perfect, he made his way out of the kitchen in search of his missing mossball.
He found Zoro meditating under one of Nami’s trees, eyes closed and ignoring Sanji taking a seat across from him.
From such close proximity, Sanji could make out Zoro’s gentle breathing and the slight clinking of his teardrop earrings in the wind. He focused on the slight pink that tinted his cheeks from the chilliness of the night air and trailed his gaze up to the swordsman’s eyes. Zoro’s lashes were long and gave a semblance of daintiness that Sanji had never noticed before.
Pretty.
After a few moments of staring, Zoro finally acknowledged him.
“Looking for a fight, dumbass?”
“Is that anyway to greet me after I generously brought your leftovers, you brute?”
Zoro said nothing else as he grabbed one of the rice balls and ate it with gusto, reaching for another when Sanji spoke up again.
“Does it taste better a second time?” He’s not making eye contact now.
Zoro made it a point to swallow loudly before replying.
“I said I wasn't hungry, I'm hungry now.”
“Zoro, you could rival Luffy with how much you can eat. Tell me what’s on your mind, you've been acting more grumpy than usual.”
“Out of everyone on this ship, you should know that there’s nothing going on up there.” He smirked, reaching for the last bit of food. Sanji grabbed his wrist before he could place it in his mouth.
“I'm serious Zoro.” His brows furrowed, refusing to look away.
“I- look, can we just talk about this later? I’m tired.” Zoro looked like he’d rather be anywhere else than in this awkward interaction.
“You better not just be saying that to get out of the conversation, I'm going to hold you to it.”
“I just need time to put it into words, okay? Don't nag me too much about this, curly.”
That set Sanji off and he let go of Zoro’s hand in favor of pinching both of his cheeks and stretching them.
“Quit acting like a petulant child and tell me what's wrong!” He pulled harder on Zoro’s cheeks.
“Both of you need to shut up and go to bed!” Usopp poked his head over the crow’s nest to sneer down at them.
“I don't know or care what you guys are arguing about, but can you do it quietly? Other people live here too, y'know!” He gave them one last glare and retreated before they could hurl insults back at him.
“Okay, now can I leave?” Zoro’s distorted lips made him sound ridiculous and Sanji had to hold back from laughing in his face. But he let up and released his grip.
They both stood and shuffled silently to the bunks. Everyone else was sound asleep when they crept to their respective beds.
Zoro, as expected, was out cold and snoring the second his head hit the pillow. Sanji smiled fondly at his predictable marimo. Sleep didn't come as easily to him unfortunately; there was a faint voice at the back of his skull that kept telling him he needed to find out what was bothering Zoro.
He was going to get that overgrown algae to start talking, one way or another.

It took until lunchtime for them to dock at the island and it was around that time when a stretchy hand grabbed ahold of his ankle and dragged him out of bed. Zoro’s back hit the ground none too kindly before he was yanked through the door and out to the main deck. He had a face full of Luffy before his eyes could adjust to the sunlight.
“Zoro~ you were sleeping too long and Nami said we couldn't leave until we drew straws on who would stay and watch the ship.”
“Why didn't you just make me do it? I always know what's going on even when I'm asleep.” He grumbled out as he stood, but didn’t make a move to wrestle Luffy’s hands from around his neck.
“Well that wouldn't be fair now would it, mossy?” Sanji appeared from behind him and began dishing out the bento boxes he packed for everyone. Zoro pretended that he wasn’t fazed by the googly eyes he gave Nami and Robin while serving them and that Sanji didn’t hand one over to him.
It’s fine, he didn’t care.
After Luffy got his, he finally disengaged from Zoro’s neck to peek inside the container. Sanji looked like he was about to chastise him when Chopper excitedly came running up the plank.
“I found a bunch of twigs in the sand that we can use for drawing straws!”
Robin patted his head for a job well done.
Luffy went to pick first, practically vibrating with all his pent up energy.
Zoro knew it was gonna be a miracle if he didn’t get them in trouble.
Luffy let out a maniacal laugh as he showed the rest of the crew the poor excuse for a twig he’d selected. He’d gone and slingshotted himself onto the island before anyone could say another word.
Nami covered her face and sighed, perking up when Chopper came up to her next for her pick.
It didn’t take long for everyone else to choose; Nami and Robin stepped off together after Nami muttered something about haggling the local villagers for treasure, and Usopp drew a straw that was just a bit shorter than Sanji’s and Zoro’s before sinking to the ground in defeat.
“That's not fair, Luffy never remembers how drawing straws work, he should be the one staying on Merry!” He whined petulantly.
“Don’t worry Usopp! You and I can take turns, there’s a chance that I won’t find any plants that can be mixed with anything. That's the only reason I want to leave Merry in the first place, so don't be upset!”
“Chopper…” Usopp had stars in his eyes as he grappled Chopper into a bear hug, the young doctor yelling in the tight hold.
Watching from the corner of his eye, Zoro hid a smile behind a fake cough. Watching his nakama get along never failed to make a feeling of content build in his chest.
It was during this little chaotic scene that Sanji took hold of his hand. Their eyes met for a moment before he was being tugged towards the edge of the ship. He grabbed the picnic basket that had the crew’s lunches as he tugged a bit more incessantly.
“We’ll be here forever if he sets his sights on us, let's go.”
Zoro wanted to argue that he could get off the ship just fine on his own, but a part of him liked that Sanji’s hold on him was firm and unwavering.
They land on the beach together with the sand silencing their brisk walk into the jungle ahead.
The contrast of the shore and jungle was palpable. Where the beach was sunny with dry cooler air, the sprawling foliage in front of them made the area muggy and dark. The trees loomed over them and Zoro looked back to where they entered just to make sure he hadn’t imagined that intense shift in the environment.
“Don't worry mossy, I’ll keep you safe.”
“Keep me safe from what? If anything, I can cut down anything faster than you could kick it!”
“You keep up that brave face while you're absolutely crushing my hand with how hard you're holding it.” Sanji smirked.
Zoro had never let go of something so fast in his life. In his embarrassing panic, he walked ahead of Sanji and ignored his calls to slow down lest he’d end up lost.
‘Stupid cook, I don't get lost.’
Zoro walked a bit faster until he came up to a clearing.
It was as if this specific part of the island was designed around this one spot. It had an overabundance of these peculiar looking flowers that formed a perimeter around a heart shaped pond. The flowers, much like the pond, were pink in hue and seemed to let off a slight glow. There were no animals around either, even stranger because Zoro could have sworn he had at least heard some monkeys whooping in the distance as he ran– no– walked away from Sanji.
Something about this place just didn't sit right with him.
A rustle on the other side of the clearing drew his attention. Before he knew it, he had a sword drawn.
A young girl, no older than 10 years old, emerged from the jungle and stared at him. She didn't look like she was in distress. Her clothes weren't unkempt and she appeared unfrightened by him. Her dark blue hair contrasted well with the flowers.
“Hello? Are you lost?” He took a step in her direction.
Her eyebrows furrowed as she shook her head and held up her hand as a way to deter him from coming any closer.
Before he could question her any further, a hand clamped down on his shoulder. He turned and drew all three swords against his would-be attacker.
“H-hold it Zoro! What's gotten into you?” Sanji raised his hands in a placating manner.
He huffed as he re-sheathed his swords. “I’m fine, don’t sneak up on me like that.”
“It's your own fault for running off like that! What were you even staring at that you didn't hear me walking up to you?”
“A little girl. She’s right over th–” Zoro turned back to where he was looking but there was no one there.
Sanji’s eyes narrowed as he swiveled his head in every direction.
“Y'know we’ve only been in here for twenty minutes, how are you hallucinating that bad already?” he sneered.
“Shut up moron, I’m not crazy.”
“I never said you were.”
“You were insinuating it. She was there, but didn't want me to come closer.”
“That's a big word for you to use when you're not all the way there mossy.” Sanji snickered and Zoro made to lunge at him.
Sanji was full on laughing now as he held Zoro back with his leg.
“Ok ok, lets just pretend that she was real for a moment. You probably stumbled into her flower garden that she works really hard to maintain and didn’t want you stepping on any of them.”
Zoro thought for a moment. That sounded like a plausible reason for her to stop him, but then why did she run away?
“Lets get some food for you, I’m sure not having breakfast isn't helping with your situation. We can eat over by the pond, there’s a small spot with no flowers and we can sit.” Sanji held up the picnic basket and gingerly walked through the flowers.
Zoro went to follow him but was still wary of their surroundings. He was, however, glad that Sanji hadn’t forgotten about him when he packed everyone lunch.
After wading through the dense blossoms, he caught up to Sanji, who was already spreading out a blanket and unloading their food.
He took a seat and a wrapped sandwich was promptly pressed to his face. He grumbled out a thanks as he unwrapped it. Sanji did the same and they sat in relative silence, but only for a moment.
“These flowers are breathtaking, not like anything I’ve ever seen.” He picked one to examine it closer. “They look a lot like carnations but must be something else entirely, I wonder if it would be good as a garnish.”
“I think it's weird to want to eat glowing flowers, cook.” Zoro deadpanned as he reached into the basket for another sandwich.
Sanji grabbed his wrist and all of a sudden he was getting deja vu reminiscent of last night.
“Vanishing little girls and glowing flowers aside, have you decided to tell me what's crawled up your ass lately?” He let go of Zoro’s wrist in favor of intertwining their fingers.
“Do we seriously have to talk about this right now?” He groaned and took his hand back.
“You said you would tell me, Zoro.” Sanji crossed his arms and waited.
Frankly, Zoro had had enough of this conversation again, and stood up to scamper off back into the trees. Before he could, Sanji grabbed onto his boot and he momentarily lost his footing and fell face first into a cluster of flowers. Lifting his head to rip the cook a new one, Zoro stopped when the soft glowing of the field brightened rapidly.
In the next instant, an enormous cloud of pink pollen surrounded them and visibility was near impossible.
Zoro was on his feet a second later, but was subdued by a fit of sneezing. His eyes started to water, and he covered them to avoid more irritation, Sanji colliding into him while also sneezing. He was right back where he started but with a sniveling cook on his chest.
What the hell was happening? I knew we should have gotten the fuck out of here sooner.
His head began to pound and for some reason he felt cramping in his lower abdomen. He assumed the same was affecting Sanji, as his face was pressed further into his chest as he groaned in pain and clenched at his haramaki. One last thought of how they were both going to die in this shitty garden ran through Zoro’s head before he lost consciousness.
— – — – — – —
Zoro feels good. His insides tickle and he feels good. Sanji’s one visible eye has its attention on him alone and it sends another pleasurable tingle down his chest. The bed is soft beneath him as he’s pushed further into it. He raises a hand out to brush Sanji’s hair away so that he can see more of him but instead the cook is telling him that it's time to wake up.
Zoro's head lurched off of the deck as he began to cough profusely. It took a while before he's able to breathe without his throat threatening him with more phlegm, but when he does, he notices he's back on Merry.
Chopper, alerted by Zoro’s coughing fit, came running around the corner with a glass of water.
“Zoro! You're finally up, we were so worried!” The little doctor handed him the beverage and looked expectantly up at the swordsman.
Zoro downed the cup in one gulp and rustled the top of Chopper’s head in gratitude.
“You most likely have a lot of questions as to what happened, and I practiced what to say when you and Sanji were still sleeping… but it's hard to put into words exactly.” Chopper mumbled to himself.
That's strange, Zoro thought. Chopper had never not been straightforward when he took care of his nakama. What made him so hesitant?
Wait, he said both him and Sanji.
But where was the cook?
Zoro looked around and was surprised that Sanji had been sprawled out behind him the entire time. What was even more surprising was that he looked different; not a ‘I love your new shirt’ kind of different, but a ‘Who the fuck are you?’ kind of different.
Zoro looked stunned as a pair of fluffy ears twitched from where Sanj’s normal ones would be. They were tipped black on the ends and sported a small tuft of white fur covering his ear canals.
“W-what happened, who did this to him, Chopper?” Zoro turned his attention back on the little doctor to shake his shoulders frantically.
Chopper blushed and looked away before he started explaining.
“It was just after Usopp had finally let me off of the ship, I found the inhabitants of this island and they were really hospitable. They gave me herbs and books that could aid me in mixing up new medicine. But they also told me to stay away from a specific field of flowers…”
Zoro’s blood ran cold at that admission.
“I was very intrigued by their warning and pleaded with them to explain it to me. In a nutshell, among the countless plants that call this island home, there are some that are… less than savory to humans. This certain flower that you and Sanji encountered was called the Covertrus Dianthus Caryophyllus.”
“The what?” Zoro’s head began to spin again.
“Ah, sorry. In layman's terms, it's the carnation of desire. A flower that can sense unresolved desire in people and manifest it in different ways to help them resolve their issues. It uses its pollen to sedate victims while also changing them to what seems to be the best remedy.”
Heat rose up from Zoro’s neck and he quickly covered his face in shame; he definitely didn't want Chopper to tell him anymore.
“By the time the head botanist had explained its effects, the village had already heard rumors of you two poking around in the general direction of the garden. And when we finally reached you, both you and Sanji had been asleep and changed.” He flashed Zoro an awkward smile.
Both.
He said both.
Zoro, now scared shitless, apprehensively lifted his arm to feel at his ears. And just as Chopper said, he was also changed.
He sprung up from his seated position and made a beeline to the washrooms, where he promptly barricaded himself inside. He leaned against the door for what felt like eternity before he mustered the courage to approach a mirror.
He leaned in closely so he could make out all the fine details of his transformation.
And what a transformation it was.
Replacing Zoro’s once perfectly normal ears were long rabbit ones. Thankfully, the same color as his hair and still featuring his teardrop earrings.
Wait, so does that mean?
Zoro dropped his pants and grasped at the base of his spine and, sure enough, there was his fluffy tail. He felt up towards the base of that as well and suddenly a lightning bolt of pleasure shot down between his legs.
He gasped out loud into the empty bathroom and squeezed his legs together. It momentarily relieved the pressure there but for some reason it felt somewhat off.
Zoro slid his hand down the front of his pelvis and covered his mouth before he let out the most panicked scream in relation to the day's bizarre events.
His dick was gone. His balls were non-existent.
He explored a bit further down and felt that he was extraordinarily wet with slick. His fingers explored a bit more and worked their way over slippery folds, they then stopped at a hard nub at the precipice that was more sensitive than the rest of his new “attribute”.
“W-what kind of fucked up plant does this to strangers?” He was spiraling now. If this had happened to him, had it done the same to Sanji?
Zoro was taken out of his racing thoughts by a knock on the bathroom door.
“Zoro, please come out. Sanji is up now and he’s making us food. We can talk about it over some dinner.” It was Chopper, no doubt he heard the petrified scream Zoro let out earlier.
Resigned and admittedly exhausted, Zoro pulled up and secured his pants before he exited the bathroom and followed Chopper to the galley. When the door opened to the kitchen, everyone swiveled their heads to him. Nami and Robin both had amused smiles on their faces while Usopp and Luffy both looked fascinated by his ears. The only person who didn't turn to face them was Sanji. He was flitting about the stove and whistling a low tune, his bushy tail swung to and fro as he moved. Chopper went to sit between Nami and Robin while Zoro sat beside Luffy, using his body as a shield from the cook.
After another moment, Sanji turned around with plates filled with curry and rice. He served them in no particular order, which was out of the ordinary; he normally served the ladies first, and then everyone else.
What was even more out of the ordinary was that after he served Zoro last, which wasn't strange in itself, he then took the seat right beside him– effectively inserting himself between Luffy, who seemed uninterested in his behavior and focused on delving into his portion of dinner.
Zoro’s eyes bulged as Sanji scooted right up to him. They were shoulder to shoulder on the bench and Zoro kept his gaze at his plate and feigned nonchalance.
“How are you, Zoro? It's the first time I've seen your ears up close and they are even cuter than Chopper described them to be~” Sanji crooned into his ear, nice and close but still loud enough for everyone at the table to hear.
Silverware fell to the ground as their crew stared at them in shock.
“Uh- Sanji, are you feeling okay?” Nami was the first to speak up.
“I’m perfectly fine Nami-dear.” His ears twitched in her direction, but he didn’t spare her a glance.
“O-okay, just making sure.” Not entirely satisfied with his answer, she went back to eating.
They ate in silence for the rest of their meal but there were definitely questions that went unanswered, but no one tried to ask.
Zoro, on one hand, was grateful that no one was trying to pry into what was going on, but also frustrated that with every inch he put between himself, and the cook Sanji seemed to make up for– and then some. Poor Usopp looked close to falling out of his seat with how close to the edge he was.
They all finished eating in the next few minutes. Luffy stood first and congratulated them for being more friendly towards each other before he left to go find mischief on Merry. The rest of the crew filed out behind him; Robin dragged Chopper out before he’d even finished stacking plates to make it easier for dishwashing.
Zoro’s plate had been wiped clean for a while now, but he pointedly ignored the way Sanji was staring at him. He jolted when he felt a fluffy tail bump into his own, obscured by pants, and shuddered from the contact.
Sanji stood and dragged Zoro over to the sink with him.
“Come help me with cleaning up, Ma douce.” He gathered the plates from the table and returned to where Zoro was working up a cold sweat.
“Sanji, I don’t know how much Chopper told you about what happened to us, but I have a feeling it's affecting your judgment.”
Sanji smiled and began to lather up the dishes on his side of the sink.
“While that may be true marimo, I feel like all it did was give me a new perspective on our relationship. I feel more attuned to you, more like I can dote on you and not care about the repercussions. I know that little show at dinner was out of the ordinary and I'm sure they have lots of questions but, until this wears off, I’m content.” He handed a plate to Zoro to rinse and dry.
Zoro felt conflicted as he took the offered dish. Sure, getting to see and feel Sanji put him first instead of other women was nice but it was just that damn flower’s doing. There was no way he would actually pine for Zoro the way he would yearn for a lovely lady. This thing between them was nothing more than a passing fling that would end the second some poor beauty gave him a second glance.
Zoro sighed as he continued rinsing and drying the offered plates and utensils.
The sun had set by the time they finished. And Zoro, whose head had been running nonstop since this fiasco happened, was very eager to crawl into his hammock.
If he could avoid the love cook until this all blew over, Zoro could retreat and lick his wounds in peace. With that plan in mind, he stepped away from the sink and mistakenly turned his back to Sanji.
Warm arms enveloped his own as he’s pulled into a bear hug. Golden hair flooded his field of vision as Sanji rested his chin on Zoro’s shoulder. He was squeezed a bit tighter before the cook purred into his ear:
“Hold on little bunny, I told you my baggage. What's yours?”
“N-none of your business! Let me go you-” Zoro’s eyes lost focus as skillful hands seized his tail and massaged it. A full body shudder racked through him and he slumped forward a bit, his pussy clenching on nothing.
Sanji, completely surprised by such a visceral reaction, loosened his grip and Zoro took the opportunity to flee the kitchen.
Hiding himself away in a storage room, Zoro sank down behind a cluster as he practically ripped off his pants and underwear. His hand found his hardened clit and it only took a few rubs for him to fall apart. He hid most of his pleasure by covering his mouth but left physical evidence in the form of a small puddle on the floor. He stared at it in embarrassment before pulling himself back together.
Steeling his resolve, Zoro avoided the cook like a plague. Surely this mess would fix itself in just a few days.
Zoro was wrong.
If anything, Sanji’s shenanigans had only increased.
Zoro began to be the last one to enter and the first to leave whenever the crew ate. He started wearing his shirts when he trained or napped, and even stopped talking to the cook all-together. Anything to hasten this through their system.
Sanji, however, quickly adapted to Zoro’s evasion tactics.
He told everyone but Zoro about the later starting times for eating, meaning that he would show up on time, or even earlier. When he was modestly dressed for his workouts, Zoro’s shirts began to go missing and the cook suddenly had an affinity for doing everyone’s laundry. And even though Zoro has gone out of his way to stop talking to Sanji, the curly bastard hadn't stopped whispering sweet nothings and the most absolutely filthy thoughts in his ear. He was getting tired of crossing his legs for some relief and the constant drooling his pussy did. It didn't help that Sanji had started wearing this musky cologne that made Zoro want to throw caution to the wind and ride him on the open deck. Where did he even buy it? They hadn’t docked in days.
Zoro’s frustration had grown to a point where even Nami noticed that his brooding had turned more into anger than endearing annoyance. After watching him run away from Sanji’s supposed flower-induced love bombing for the umpteenth time that day, she devised a plan.
That was how Zoro found himself standing in the foyer of a relatively posh hotel. Nami had told the crew that they were dangerously low on supplies and needed to find an island immediately or Luffy would eat them all. Unfortunately, the town they arrived at was way out of her budget apparently because now they all had to share 3 hotel rooms. Luffy, Usopp and Chopper had one room, her and Robin obviously had the other and that left Sanji and him with the last one.
Zoro watched as Nami handed Sanji their room key, his tail wagging relentlessly as he thanked her. Before he could offer to switch with Usopp, Sanji manhandled the back of his collar and strung him along upstairs. As they rounded the corner, Nami waved him off with a devious smile.
Not long after, they were stepping through the threshold of a luxurious suite. The ceilings were vaulted and the walls had various fancy-looking seashells embedded into them. The sizable room also boasted a gorgeous balcony and a mini fridge that Zoro planned on raiding later. But his attention ultimately settled on the only bed in the room. It was king-sized so there would be plenty of room for them both, but sleeping on the plush carpet floor sounded a lot better. The mountain of soft pillows were enticing but not that much.
“I have to piss.” Zoro all but yelled as he sped to the en suite bathroom. Hiding in there could hopefully buy him a few hours of peace. However, a leather dress shoe impeded his ability to fully shut the door.
The air between them was electric as neither of them yielded from the door.
Sanji broke the silence first. “You've been avoiding me, Roronoa.”
He was wearing that damn cologne again. Zoro’s brain went hazy at the aroma of it.
“I don't know what you’re talking about, get off the damn door!” He tried shoving his chest away.
“Prove it then.” Sanji acted nonchalant and pocketed his hands, momentarily taking his shoe away.
Zoro vaguely remembered childhood fairytales of how foxes were extremely cunning and sly; his guard was up as he took the bait, but his bunny ears flicked back and forth in anticipation.
“Kiss me. Every chance we had alone was few and far between; if you kiss me now, I’ll admit defeat and apologize.”
Not one to back down from a challenge, Zoro emerged from the bathroom and grabbed Sanji’s lapels.
Their mouths met together for the first time in several days and Zoro’s body heated up at the fact. Sanji tilted his head sideways as he deepened the kiss, his hand cupping the back of Zoro’s head as he slipped his tongue inside. They fought for a moment before Zoro relented and let Sanji explore his mouth how he pleased.
They parted for just a moment to catch their breath, but their faces never strayed far.
Zoro knew the risks of accepting Sanji’s obvious taunt but was way too riled up to care. This had been several days of want spilling out of him.
Sanji moved first this time as he kissed below Zoro’s ear and moved down to his neck. He nipped at the sensitive skin while sucking bruises that would be difficult to hide later.
Zoro’s legs buckled momentarily as he felt something hot press into his hip. He sobered up a bit as he remembered that Sanji knew nothing about his dick just up and disappearing.
Before he could voice any concerns, he was being led backwards and the back of his knees hit the bed.
He flopped down none too gracefully on the plush bed as Sanji hovered over him. His eyes were dark with desire and Zoro swore he could hear growls reverberating through his chest.
Frankly, he looked like an animal who had finally caught his prey.
His demeanor was jarring but also arousing. Zoro’s boxers were becoming increasingly damp as Sanji attacked his neck again, his sharpened teeth sinking deeper into the border between Zoro’s neck and shoulder.
“Ah, f-fuck! Sanji, wait a min-” A choked off gasp spilled from his kiss swollen lips as Sanji ignored him and slipped a hand into his pants. As he felt a soft hand cup his pussy, all movement from Sanji ceased.
Zoro could practically hear when the cogs stopped working in the cook’s brain. It would have been comical if he wasn't dying of embarrassment.
“Z-Zoro, since when do you..?” Not really waiting for an answer he carefully pulled off his boots, pants and underwear. He coaxed Zoro’s legs open to get a better look, and the effect on him was instantaneous. A long stream of blood leaked from his nose as his tail brushed along Zoro’s ankle.
“You've been keeping this a secret from me.” Sanji whispered reverently.
“I haven't been doing a damn thing other than trying to keep you from eye fucking me in front of everyone!” Zoro growled out, slamming his legs closed.
“To be fair, I’ve also been trying to fuck you for real too.” Sanji was grinning but Zoro’s pent-up feelings started bubbling to the surface.
“Oh yeah, and I bet you're fucking thrilled that I’m more like your ladies now curly? My tits aren’t as big as any woman’s but maybe when we finally get this flower bullshit out of our system, I’ll still have it and maybe then you’ll pay more attention to me!” He was full-on seething, baring his teeth to convey his frustration and hurt.
“Zoro…” Sanji looked at him with confusion and then remorse.
He pulled Zoro up into an almost uncomfortable angle to hug him, nosing at Zoro’s nape before speaking again.
“I had absolutely no idea you felt this way, I knew there’s been something bothering you, but it never occurred to me that it was my fault. And now that I’ve been glued to your back for the past couple of days, I understand why you're frustrated.”
Sanji eased out of their embrace and Zoro immediately lowered his gaze. He didn't want to listen to any more of the cook’s attempt to save face.
“Zoro, please… Look at me.” Sanji tilted his chin upwards, and Zoro reluctantly returned his gaze.
Both of Sanji’s eyes were visible, his side bang pushed back and both of his swirly brows making a rare appearance. There was blood smeared all the way to his ears but it didn’t seem to bother him.
“I love you mossy, and I’ve known that I have for so long and should have told you sooner. I really have no excuse on why I kept it to myself, but I know that I fell hard for you.”
Zoro searched his face for any trace of disingenuity, but Sanji looked so earnest and close to crying that he couldn't possibly be dishonest. The realization made warmth bubble up from his chest and in the next moment, he was the one kissing the breath out of Sanji.
The metallic taste of blood wasn't unwelcoming; when they parted it lingered on Zoro’s tongue.
“You're beyond stupid, curly.” He whispered fondly.
“That's my fault entirely, I know. And for the record-” Sanji parted Zoro’s legs once more and kissed the top of his cunt. “I may be more knowledgeable about this right here, but I would have swallowed your cock down without any hesitation Zoro.”
Zoro was taken off guard by Sanji’s crudeness, his ears flopping down into his face from embarrassment.
“Would you just shut up and put your mouth to good use? You're killing me here.”
“Fuck mossy, you don't have to tell me a second time.” Sanji gripped the underneath of Zoro’s beefy thighs to pull him closer and finally closed his mouth over the heated flesh.
Sanji’s tongue slipped between Zoro lips, openly moaning at the first taste of him. He wasted no time at all and started licking into Zoro’s slick hole, his pace incessant. Sanji’s nose smushed into his clit as he took what he’d been denied for so long.
Zoro moaned unabashedly at Sanji’s eagerness, his breath hitching at each long swipe. His pants took on a rougher edge as he was nearly falling over the precipice.
“S-Sanji, I’m close, ah! Please just a little mnnn!” Zoro’s body seized up as he came, a long, drawn-out moan ripping its way out of his mouth. He was sure he was suffocating Sanji with the vice grip his thighs had on the blond’s head but there was no doubt that the pervert liked it.
When the aftershocks stopped traveling down Zoro’s spine, he finally let Sanji up. The cook looked at him with adoration and awe, expressed even more so when he made no attempt to wipe the copious amount of slick off his jaw.
Sanji clambered up Zoro’s torso and slotted their mouths together. He could taste himself on Sanji’s tongue and fuck if that didn’t turn him on more.
“Marimo, shit- need you, need you so bad.” He was rutting his clothed erection against Zoro’s thigh, obviously not all the way there anymore.
“Yeah, c’mon curls, you've been so good.” Zoro reached down to unbuckle his slacks and they fell to the ground unceremoniously.
Sanji, still coherent enough, hooked his fingers into the waistband of his boxers and pulled them down as well. His cock smacked the top of his belly as it's freed and Sanji was back at Zoro’s pussy, one hand boxing in the swordsman's head, his other hand at long last guiding the tip of his cock into the tight cavern.
Zoro wasn't expecting it to sting as much as it did, but he should have assumed that he was a virgin once again. Fisting the sheets as the bulbous head popped in, he contemplated how much he really wanted to consummate their feelings towards one another.
“God, I love you so much- fuck, want more.” In his haste to be one with the swordsman, Sanji used both of his hands to drag Zoro onto his cock.
“Hah! Oh fuck, b-bad dog!” Zoro barked out as every inch of the asshole’s dick was swallowed by his greedy cunt. The sharp discomfort had turned into a dull ache as he became accustomed to the stretch. Stars danced behind his eyes as Sanji set a steady but strong pace.
The moans getting fucked out his mouth echoed loudly throughout the hotel room, the sound of wet skin slapping together a close second. All the power behind the cook’s powerful thighs pushed him further into the mattress and closer to falling over the edge for a second time.
He came with a sob, desperately gripping Sanji’s shoulders to anchor himself. Zoro felt wetness travel down his ass and wrote it off Sanji cumming inside him, was flabbergasted when he pulled out and was still erect. The base of cock even looked swollen. Zoro was about to ask him if he was okay but was flipped over to his stomach without further preamble.
Sanji wasn't done with him yet.
“Hey, cook, need a minute to rest, yeah?” Zoro panted out.
“Just a little more moss, can’t stop…” Sanji begged.
His hips were raised and his sore cunt was speared open once again. The new angle bullied a spongy spot inside of him and Zoro cried out into the sheets. Tears flowed freelyl as he was pushed into oversensitivity, Sanji’s snapping hips becoming too much for him. What made the situation worse was that he could feel the bump on his dick trying to sneak its way inside of him.
Zoro tried to crawl away from the onslaught of pleasure but was dragged back harshly and punished with a set of sharp canines in his neck. He was quickly immobilized as Sanji rutted faster inside of him. After a few savage minutes of his cunt being abused, he felt the bump slip inside of him.
At that point Sanji stopped thrusting and just ground it deeper into him. Zoro struggled again as he noticed that it was swelling. He began to panic when it didn’t seem to be stopping and contemplated just fighting him off, the mood be damned. Before he could, however, the scent of Sanji’s cologne became cognizant once again and he was immediately docile. He relaxed into the bed and sighed contentedly, no longer anxious.
Then, and only then, did Sanji come. He howled his release into Zoro’s ear and stilled. Warmth spread through his lower half, he could tell it was a lot but it was plugged tightly inside his cunt.
Zoro had never been fucked so completely in his life. If it wasn’t Sanji he’d be more terrified of the entire situation. He could hear how furiously his tail wagged as they were practically glued together for who knew how long.
“Mine, my mate, need to fill you with pups.” Sanji licked at the bite marks on his neck and groomed his nape. Zoro didn't even get time to process his ramblings, just trying to grow accustomed to the stretch.
It went on like this for several hours, Sanji would plug his pussy with cum and then use his weight to keep him pressed into the bedding. At certain points in their overzealous coupling, he would take breaks consisting of torturing the swordsman's nipples or feasting on the spend he dumped into his cunt countless rounds ago. It didn't take long for him to pass out from the non-stop stimulation, the last thing he remembers being the thousandth hickey Sanji left on his inner thigh.
Zoro blinked in and out of consciousness; he didn’t really feel like moving on account of his aching body. Sanji must have had some decency left in him towards the end because he was relatively clean, and they were cuddled up on their sides under a blanket. Him being the little spoon.
The sun had already set when he peered out the balcony and he contemplated drifting off back to sleep. Flipping over to gaze at Sanji, he was startled by his lack of animal features and how positively ruined his body felt.
Reaching up to the side of his head, he found no evidence of rabbit ears as well. Zoro let out a pleased sigh at being able to finally wash his hands of this disaster.
Well, he wouldn’t really call what happened between them last night a total disaster. He knew for a fact that the cook would still dote on women, but it quieted his heart to know that he was the one Sanji was in love with.
Zoro kissed the blonde’s forehead before heading to the bathroom. The mirror painted a tale that he was mauled by a rabid animal, but he’d treasure the hickeys and bite marks for as long as they lasted.
“Huh.”
A flower that can sense unresolved desire in people and manifest it in different ways to help them resolve their issues.
Chopper’s words floated through his mind as he sat on the toilet.
‘If I’d let him fuck me earlier, I could have saved myself some frustration. Oh well, maybe if they told the doctor about Sanji’s behavior during sex (minus the more steamy aspects) he could explain what his deal was.”
Zoro finished up in the bathroom and climbed back into bed, effectively getting back under Sanji’s arms. He was close to dozing once again but sat up straight once something finally registered in his thick skull.
His dick was still missing.
