It was a warm summer evening, and the twins and their friends were having a bonfire at the beach while they were on vacation. Most had wine coolers in one hand, and some had marshmallows or hot dogs on skewers. All were thoroughly engrossed in a round of one person sharing some important lore.
“So that’s how we got together,” Mona finished her story, and the girls of the group nodded.
“Makes sense. But did you have to add every place you banged first??” Amber complained.
“It was integral to the story!” Mona defended. “Plus, wouldn’t he agree?”
Lumine wasn’t paying much attention, and whether it was because she was genuinely zoning or had a little too much to drink, she wasn’t sure. She was casually leaning against her boyfriend as she stuffed a browned marshmallow in her mouth. After she finished it, she looked up at Ajax, who was staring out at the ocean thoughtfully.
“Babe? You okay?”
“Mm…? G-Girlie?” Ajax stuttered, clearly attempting to return to the real world. “Did you call me?”
“Yeah,” Lumine replied with a frown. “Are you alright?”
He shook his head slowly before he responded, “Just dozed off a bit… thinking a bit about home, you know?”
Since it was much warmer there at this beach than in Snezhnaya all year round, he did have the ground to say that. He wished, at some point, to take Lumine there on a vacation; perhaps to sightsee, or even to visit his family. Proceeding with these wishes was not possible at this time, so he instead took a swig of his wine.
“Oh… feeling homesick, huh? Do you want to talk about it, or do you want to be distracted?” Lumine asked, wanting to perk Ajax up. It pained her to see him upset.
“No, no, I just needed a bit of gazing away,” Ajax answered, scooting closer to her and a bit farther away from her twin brother. “I’m back to reality now. Let’s just have some fun while we have the time!”
Lumine brightened, happy to hear this from him. “Okay! Do you want another snack, or should we suggest a game or something?”
The other girls clamored for snacks, prompting Aether and Keqing to rise from their seats and move to the grills to prepare the skewers they had brought to the beach earlier. As they did so, the remainder of the group entered a game of truth or dare.
“At least,” Ajax mentioned snidely, “your brother won’t be here to hear this. You know how he is, don’t you, girlie?”
Lumine laughed. “Of course I know that. We’re basically two sides of the same coin. Two halves of one soul and all that.”
“Yeah, but even then, he’s still a bit…” he started. “I… never mind. Shall we play now, guys?”
“Yeah, I think we’ll have fun!” Ayaka cheered quietly, and Yoimiya grinned. “Who’s going first?”
“Not I,” Xiao muttered. “Maybe Mr. Kazuha would love to do the honors?”
Kazuha, whom Yoimiya had started dating only recently, shook his head and took another sip of wine. “I’d better not… maybe Scara would want to.”
“Oh, hell no!” Scaramouche spat, not quite on Mona. “Mona is the best instigator, I swear on the Oratrice—”
Mona smirked with a giggle, but she didn’t say anything. He was right!
“Why are all of the boys such babies?” Amber wondered aloud, and Ayaka covered her mouth to stifle a giggle.
“I’ll go first!” Lumine volunteered, seeing as the boys weren’t so keen on going first anyways.
Everyone exchanged looks. “You’re a brave one, darling,” Mona said with a sigh.
“What’s the worst it could be?” Lumine crossed her arms.
“Fine then, truth or dare?” Yoimiya asked.
“Dare, of course!” Lumine was always bored when people picked truth. The dares were much more interesting by far.
“Girlie, we ought to ease everyone into the mood, you know?” Ajax chided jokingly as he ran his hand along her side.
“Fine,” Lumine huffed, “but the truth better be good then! Who wants to ask me a truth?”
Scaramouche raised his hand, an evil smirk on his face. “So, the truth… what’s your favorite move in bed with Childe over here?” he questioned.
Lumine choked on her own spit, and Mona slapped her boyfriend a high five. “Since when did this become rated R???”
“You gotta answer it, babe,” Mona simply said with a shrug.
Lumine looked between Ajax and the group, trying to gauge his reaction.
“Err… uh…” Ajax mumbled. “Well…”
Lumine covered her face, but the tips of her ears were red. She was just relieved Aether wasn’t around…but she couldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t come back at any moment or that he wouldn’t find this information out through the grapevine. “I like it from behind…” she mumbled.
At that, Ajax perked, and the weight on his shoulder felt increasingly heavy as Lumine buried her face into his shirt. He leaned over to whisper in her ear, “I can make it happen now…”
Butterflies fluttered in Lumine’s stomach at Ajax’s naughty comment. “But what about everyone still here? Surely, they’ll know…” she whispered back.
The remainder of the group, shocked at Lumine’s answer, burst into an outcry. “No way that question was so easily answered!” Scaramouche hooted, slapping Mona’s thigh quite sharply.
“Oh, like you don’t have a favorite position, too!” Mona teased with a flirtatious wink.
“Excuse me? Why, you…”
Mona silenced Scaramouche with her lips, pushing him back onto the sand. While the rest of them, through the constant chatter, commented about what had just occurred, Ajax and Lumine saw their opportunity, rose, and hurried off to their shared vacation home hand-in-hand. “Don’t worry, they won’t know,” he said as they continued on their trek. “Even if they did… would they be that surprised?”
“You make us sound like sex-crazed animals,” Lumine complained, but there was almost some truth to it. She had come to realize their sex life wasn’t exactly the most private.
They made it to the door, which he quickly unlocked. Once they stepped inside, he slammed the door shut and lifted her in a bridal carry through the hallways and up a few flights of stairs. She held tightly onto his torso all the while.
“Hey… it isn’t my fault you can’t control your volume~” Ajax teased into her ear.
Lumine flushed scarlet. “I’m pretty sure it’s your fault for being so… so…!” She couldn’t even continue her sentence, not wanting to puff up his ego. He was well aware that he was good with her in bed, seeing as her sounds alone confirmed that.
He opened the door to the room they shared and the inside consisted only of a queen-sized bed, a desk, and wide windows with a view of the ocean. Upon passing the threshold of the door, he unceremoniously tossed her onto the bed before slamming the door shut. Immediately he climbed atop her, and his lips were on hers in a flash.
Lumine shrieked when she was tossed, but she had no time to react before he was kissing her. She melted into their kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck and opening her mouth slightly to allow him entrance, which he eagerly did, his tongue exploring the crevices of her mouth.
Soon, Ajax broke the kiss, but only briefly to tear off his button-up shirt. Moments later, the couple engaged in yet another passionate make-out session, and his hand came to her breast, lightly grasping it through her emerald-green bikini top. He wanted the thing off, as indicated by his rapid hardening against her.

He couldn’t deal with the massive tent in his trunks due to her challenge. It’ll be for later. “We can see that…” Keqing mumbled, unsure of what to make of the group.
“I’m pretty sure the girls are wasted,” Kazuha offered helpfully, a small tint of drunkenness in his voice.
“Uh huh…”
“Am not! I’m so sober I didn’t even kiss anyone!” Amber protested.
“Amber, you’re such a lightweight….” Noelle commented from beside her quietly.
Aether scanned the crowd and noticed two bodies missing. “Hold on, uhh… where’d Lumine and Ajax disappear off to?” he asked as he shook a bit, the platter in his hands threatening to fall.
“Probably to go fuck,” Mona replied vulgarly.
“Mona!” Ayaka scolded from beside her.
Mona crossed her arms. She still looked quite ridiculous, so it was hard to take her seriously. “What??? Just because I tell the truth doesn’t mean I should get yelled at for it!”
“Almost as if you wouldn’t have been absolutely railed right here, right now,” Scaramouche chided. “You little…”
“What’s stopping you?” Mona flirted, twirling her long hair around her fingers.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Xiao, the ever-quiet one, shouted. “Can you maybe not do that in front of everyone?”
Aether and Keqing looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. “Anyway, I guess I’d better leave these skewers here…”
“Good idea,” Noelle smiled apologetically. It appeared she hadn’t had a drop to drink, or if she did, she had to be holding it well.
“K, you think we ought to check on them?” Aether asked after they walked back to the grill area. “I’m still… a bit, you know?”
“Yeah, I understand,” Keqing replied comfortingly, reaching over to take his hand in her own. “It’s up to you what we do. You know I’ll come with you.”
Aether pondered for a moment, but eventually, some sense of resolution sprouted through his face. “She’ll be fine, probably. But as for that guy… we’ll see. Mona’s right, probably…”
Keqing squeezed her husband’s hand. “You know how those two are. At least one thing you can be sure of is that they love each other. Isn’t that a little comforting?”
He responded to his wife’s squeeze with one of his own. “He’d better marry her at this rate, honestly.”
Keqing couldn’t help but smile. “Would you even allow that?” She teased.
Aether responded, “It’s the least he could do. She’ll at least be better off than the Mondstadt friend group she has. No shade!”
Keqing laughed. “I guess you’re right. Why don’t we take a walk? Then we can just have more time to ourselves.”
He nodded, and together, they walked along the shoreline of the beach and past the chaos of their friends. Aether was pretty sure that Scaramouche and Mona found a secret cave or other suitable place to bang until one of them dropped, and the rest of them had several drinks in them and were vulnerable to such.
But as for them… as long as they had each other, they had more than enough fun of their own.
“I love you too,” Lumine panted. “Fuck, I’m gonna marry you someday, aren’t I? And I’ll be stuck with your annoyingness…” Despite saying this, there was clear affection in her voice; she really, truly loved him.
Her comments only spurred Ajax to increase his pace, and he did so instantly. His hands came to her stomach in order to further stabilize her. As he bent over her, still railing her, he whispered, “But I’ll have the best fighter as my wife…”
Lumine’s heart skipped a beat, practically radiating happiness as she moaned louder, throwing her head back slightly. “I can’t wait…”
Ajax spoke into her mouth, “Then let’s tell everyone our plan, ohh~ Let me hear you, girlie…”
He now thrusted into her at an uncontrollable pace and leaned over her shoulder, attempting to kiss her. She turned her head to give him what wanted, even though their kiss was sloppy because of their lower bodies’ actions. They remained there for a few minutes, calmly breathing and holding each other tightly. Nobody said a word for those few moments, until Ajax broke the silence.
“Girlie, you said something about marrying me, didn’t you…?” he inquired, slightly confused.
Lumine’s face turned several shades of red. “Yeah…I did,” she admitted. “But…I mean it. Not just in the heat-of-the-moment way, I really mean it.” Her heart was in his hands now— she just had to pray he didn’t crush it.
He nodded. “I see…” he began. “I see marriage as… something we can pursue. It’s a possibility between the two of us. I mean, surely your brother would know all those intricacies, wouldn’t he?”
“He would,” she confirmed, but she wasn’t sure how to feel. She didn’t want to pressure him one way or another, but…he didn’t seem as sure as she felt. She looked away, staring at the ceiling and trying to change the subject. “They’ve been married for a couple months at this point…feels like their wedding was yesterday.”
“No, girlie, don’t think so negatively,” he tried to reassure her. “What I mean is this: I mean that I very much would like to be your husband. I’m sure that our timing will work out, even if it isn’t tomorrow or in a week or in a month.”
He continued and he turned her to face him. “It’s because I love you to such an extent…”
Lumine’s eyes were glossy. “That…?”
“That we should indeed get married,” Ajax proclaimed. “Who cares if your brother got married before you? We’ll have our time, I promise, Lumine.”
She buried her face in his chest. “You mean it? You’re not just…I don’t know, telling me what I want to hear?”
“I do mean it,” he answered simply. “I really do mean it.”
She sniffled and held out a pinkie to him. “Promise?”
His pinkie twirled with hers. “Promise.”
Lumine looked back up at him now, beaming with happiness even with a stray tear trickling down her face. “Okay.” She then took a deep breath, feeling recovered now and emboldened by their conversation.
She gently pushed him onto his back, climbing on top of him and straddling his hips with her thighs. “Let me show you how your answer makes me feel,” she whispered.
Ajax’s eyes opened wide, shocked at the initiative she took. “Oh…? Girlie, never knew you had this boldness in you~”

He said nothing more and spread out the blanket to their side and covered the two of them in it. Moments later, they fell into the deep embrace of slumber.
Shortly after that, Kazuha threw the door to their shared house open. “Good to be back home after…” he began to slur, swaying a bit before collapsing on the floor.
Yoimiya collapsed beside him, sighing tiredly. “What a night…”
Ayaka frowned at the pair. “Shouldn’t you guys at least try to go up to bed…?” She was completely sober.
They didn’t respond to her. However, Amber and Noelle did begin walking upstairs to their shared room that had twin beds in it, and coincidentally, their room was beside Ajax and Lumine’s. Amber reached for the doorknob and turned it despite Noelle protesting their room was still one more room over.
When Amber turned the doorknob, she saw Ajax and Lumine slumbering peacefully upon the mattress in the room. Articles of clothing were thrown in random corners of the room: a bikini top draped over a lampshade and its matching bottom on the desk. A pair of swim trunks and a shirt lay bunched up by the window. No sounds came from this sleeping couple.
“My baaaad!!!” Amber slurred, somehow not waking them up, and Noelle covered her eyes in embarrassment as they shuffled away from the room, closing the door and returning to their own.
When Aether and Keqing returned later that night to the house, they heard the news from Ayaka’s recounting of Amber’s screaming earlier.
“Why am I not surprised…” Aether sighed, burying his face in his hands.
“Shh, shh, it’s okay…” Keqing wrapped her arm around Aether in an attempt to comfort him. “Why don’t we just head to bed for the night? I think everyone could use the rest…”
“Mm…” he responded. “I’m just saying I’m not surprised. Let’s go to sleep. Goodnight, everyone.”
The couple of their friends who were still out in the living room finally retreated to bed, and Keqing led Aether to their room. Both of them flopped onto their bed, and he fell asleep almost immediately after his side hit the mattress.
Keqing barely mumbled a “good night” before he was asleep, but she smiled nonetheless, cuddling into his side and falling asleep soon after.
The rest of the house seemed to fall into a slumber as well, and hopefully, they’d have more fun on their next day of vacation.
