Summary
Lumine is hitchhiking across Teyvat when she’s forced to pause her journey to find her next ride. After hours of waiting perched on the ice machine of an abnormally quiet gas station, Lumine joined a man with tousled red hair and deep blue eyes—Ajax. When backed up traffic starts to halt the progress of their drive, Ajax tries to avoid it by taking back roads but only succeeds at getting them lost. Admitting defeat, they pull over into the parking lot of a nature park to find their bearings, where Lumine convinces him to join her in exploring it.

After Natlan, Lumine and Paimon return to Fontaine for a well-deserved vacation. There, they meet a researcher from the Fontaine Research Institute and a representative from Yae Publishing House who have an odd commission for Lumine: they want her to take part in a study. In the study, they pair up volunteers in a dark room and examine how the volunteers' bodies react to each other on a physical level - which more often than not means sex.
