1 EXT. UNKNOWN LOCATION CITY - NIGHT
[Camera shows a bustling packed city with bright lights and breathtaking sights. Camera switches to a little yellow fox.]
Tails: Standing outside marveling at everyone and everything
[Song 'Total Eclipse of the Heart by 'Bonnie Tyler', starts playing]
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never coming around."
[Camera zooms out a bit, showing the rest of the area.]
Tails: Ears flick. Turns around and looks. Due to not seeing his two brothers anywhere, him and his ears visibly wilt.
[Camera zooms back in on Tails.]
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit tired listening to the sound of my tears."
Tails: Turns back and lip quivers and tears up as he still doesn't see any signs of his brothers. Whimpers are barely audible over the bustling city.
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all our years have gone by."
Tails: Turns a bit. Brings tails between legs and hugs them tightly for comfort as tears stream down his face. Tails starts doing an unintentional high pitched warbly fox-cub-call for his parents and siblings.
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes."
Tails: Shakes in fear due to all the people and being alone. Turns around one last time and eyes widen in recognition as he gets excited with wagging tails.
[Camera switches to Tails' PoV. Through his tears, there's a silhouette of a hedgehog across the street seen between all of the walking human's legs.]
[Camera switches to the left-front side of Tails. 2/3 view.]
Tails: Runs right towards the hedgehog with tears streaming down his face and the same sad fox-cub-call. Though looking a bit more relieved.
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Bright eyes."
[Tails' eyes are more visible once he's in the road. The light only gets brighter.]
Song on trailer: "Every now and then I fall a-"
[Camera switches to the view of oncoming traffic.]
[Time slows]
Tails: Stumbles and starts falling towards the ground. Finally notices the bus barreling towards him. He can barely open his mouth to scream in time before it's right next to him.
[A black and red blur punts Tails and follows after him out of the way of the bus]
[Time goes back to normal.]
[Camera shows Tails from the front.]
Tails: Yelps. Flying backwards into a conveniently placed mattresses to break his fall. Slumps over half dazed.
[Camera cuts to Tails.]
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Bright eyes."
Tails: Dazedly looks up at Shadow with teary big blue eyes.
[Camera cuts to Shadow.]
Song on trailer: "Every now and then I fall apart."
Shadow: Freezes in place. Looks like he just saw a ghost
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little restless and I dream of something wild."
[Blurry images of Maria appear. Especially her blue eyes.]
Shadow: Shakes his head. Turns around and starts to leave.
Tails: Awkwardly falls towards Shadow and hugs him, not wanting him to go.
Shadow: Looks up. Sits back down with Tails on the mattress.
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit helpless and I'm laying like a child in your arms."
Tails: Climbs into Shadow's lap and hugs him. Tears wet the black hedgehog's fur as sniffles are heard
Song on trailer: "Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know I have to get out and cry."
Shadow: Looks a bit irritated as he tenses up. But, soon deflates again as he hugs the crying fox cub as his own tears threaten to fall due to his memories. He closes his eyes.
Song on trailer: Turn around. Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes.
Tails: Trembling. Looks up and then relaxes again, closing his own eyes
Song on trailer: "Turn around bright eyes. Every now and then I fall apart."
[Flashback to Tails almost getting pancaked by a speeding bus. Eyes getting brighter as the headlights of the bus approach.]
Tails: Breaks down into sobs due to almost dying. Holds onto Shadow tighter.
Song on trailer: "Turn around bright eyes. Every now and then I fall apart."
[Flashback to past. Shadow has a horrified expression as quick flashes of light illuminate his pinprick eyes.]
Shadow: Silently sobs with Tails due to remembering Maria. Hugs Tails more securely.
[Title card for Sonic 3 shows]
Song on trailer: "Once upon a time there was light in my life. But now there's only blood in the dark. Nothing I can say. A total Eclipse of the heart."
[Title fades out back to Shadow's tear soaked face.]
Shadow softly speaking: "Maria...."
[Camera cuts to above Tails from Shadow's PoV]
Tails: Sleepy and calmed down a lot. Looks up confused with ears perked. "Who are you?"
Shadow: "I'm Batman!"
