Work Text:
Jeongguk ruffles his hair, ‘god, this case is too complicated for my own good.’ He thinks, thumping his fists onto his forehead to gain some sort of sense and work on the multiple evidence scattered around over his work desk.
Just then, the door creaks open. Namjoon peeks and he raises his eyebrows in question.
“The intern you were supposed to meet today, he’s here.”
Jeongguk mentally groaned, shutting down the file and nodding. “Send him in.”
He sighed, his schedule is already packed enough and now with a junior to look over— it might just get even more hectic. Massaging his forehead, he fetches out the file he had gotten from the higher authorities.
He hadn’t been able to check it, and that’s how busy he gets. And with this new task in hand, he can only dread his upcoming days.
The door clicks again, but Jeongguk was too busy frowning at the file and gauging information about the new intern to pay attention.
Taehyung stands awkwardly for a moment at the door, hands fidgeting as he ponders how to call out for the attorney. He takes a deep breath, gathering his thoughts and finally uttering out a, “s-sir?”
Jeongguk finally looks up, but when he does— Taehyung feels faint. His eyes almost go all wide but he’s thankful of not being too dazed, he regains his composure when the man nods.
“Come in.” The rich voice spoke, neither too deep nor too sweet. But enough to shiver him up from the bottom of his spine.
With nervous and shaky steps, he moved forward into the cabin. He was already wrecked ever since he knew he had been selected for this job— but now that he’s in front of his supervisor, he’s even more shaken.
Because the man in front of him looks so handsome, almost as if he’s unreal. Taehyung’s eyes move down towards the nameplate, golden and sleek.
Jeon Jeongguk
Criminal Defence Attorney
It read.
“Good morning, Mr. Jeon.” He bowed.
“Good morning. Kim Taehyung, right?” The lawyer came straight to the topic, no beating around the bush and it intimidated him to the core, but he stood tall and confident.
“Y-yes, sir.” He nodded, his eyes resisting to rake over the other’s face and check him out.
Jeongguk heaves out a heavy sigh, “I’ve a hearing in an hour, you can wait outside and we’ll go together for the starters. Then we can discuss your schedule. Is that alright?” His voice was uptight, and it intimidated Taehyung a lot. But it also made the elder hot and attractive in his eyes.
“Of course, sir. Whatever you say.”
“Mr. Jeon is fine, I have to be somewhere.” Taehyung bows, biting his lips as he watches Jeongguk collecting some files.
“Wh-where should I wait, Mr. Jeon?”
He stops in his tracks, looking around his room and nodding to himself.
“You can wait here, on the couch, or go fetch something to eat in the cafeteria. I don’t mind.” He nonchalantly shrugged.
“Okay.” He barely whispered, doubting if Jeongguk even caught it but when he was out quicker than the wind— it didn’t leave much doubt to linger.
Taehyung breathed out in relief, feeling like he was holding it back for so long in the presence of the other.
The aura the lawyer radiated was no doubt uptight and no-nonsense one, but the attraction he felt towards the same aura was palpable.
Damn, he’s sick.
Shaking his head, he glances at the nameplate again.
Jeon Jeongguk. What a hot name for such a hot man, he mused with a subtle smirk taking over his lips.
He concludes he really needs to eat now, he is not at all a morning bird and watching the face of food so early in the morning made him feel nauseous today. But now he regrets it because he feels so empty on his stomach.
Taehyung lets his backpack rest over the couch kept in the corner of the room and leaves for the cafeteria.
He looks around and catches a seat empty in the corner. Perfect! He really needs to call Yoongi and ramble now.
“You’re telling me, one day into the firm and you already have a crush?” Yoongi spoke in disbelief.
“Shut up, it’s not a crush.” The younger rolled his eyes and waved the accusation off.
“When you say the same after a few days, I’ll treat you to your favourite barbecue place.”
Taehyung’s face lit up. “Oh my god, really?”
“Yeah.” It was Yoongi’s turn to roll his eyes. “But I know that won’t happen, ‘cause you already sound down bad.” A snicker rumbled from within his throat and Taehyung huffed.
“Can you stop giving me reality checks, hyung?”
“No.” He chuckled. “You need to stop living in denial that you’re actually very weak for older men.”
Taehyung practically whines out loud at that, he had to clamp his mouth shut because he’d thought his voice might’ve echoed through the cafeteria.
“You can’t run away from the truth.” Yoongi mocked.
“Fuck you.” He hissed.
“I love you too.” The elder giggled. “Also, aren’t you supposed to be busy?”
“Yeah, I am.” He trailed off.
“So… why are you still talking to me?”
“Mr. Jeon went to run some errands and asked me to wait. I was getting hungry anyway so I’m sitting in the cafeteria right now.” Taehyung sighed, munching on a bite of his omelette he was craving for days. Thankfully, the cafeteria had it today.
“I see.” Yoongi hummed. “So, is he like— too intimidating?”
“I’d say he’s very work-oriented. That’s what I concluded from today’s encounter.” He pouted, remembering how straight to point Jeongguk had been when they met.
“Damn.” The other purred. “But you’re willing to break that wall, aren’t you?” His voice turned teasing.
Taehyung groaned into his palms, this guy won’t stop making him flustered.
“No! And if I were in front of you right now— I’d have strangled you, just so you know.”
“Yeah, yeah. I’d like to see you try.” Taehyung rolled his eyes for the nth time, the blush evident over the ample of his cheeks.
It’s not too long before he’d start giving in and let Yoongi tease him. But for now he’d like to stay in denial.
It’s just mere attraction that someone— correction: anyone would harbour seeing a man as handsome as Jeongguk.
Yeah, exactly! Yoongi didn't understand him. That’s his fault.
He’s not down bad. Not yet, at least.
He’s running late, Taehyung curses under his breath when he checks the time and it’s already an hour past the time he left Jeongguk’s cabin. But it’s not because he lost track of it.
He was sensible enough to leave the cafeteria ten minutes before it struck ten in the clock. But when he was just out of the place he bumped into a janitor carrying bundles of files, causing it to fall over.
And his conscience didn’t let him leave the man all alone struggling to pick all of that alone so he willingly helped. The man even looked old so he didn’t want him to strain himself too much.
The grateful smile Taehyung received after he was done made him feel accomplished though, so he could be excused.
But the thing is, he’s not sure if he’ll be excused by Jeongguk. He pants as he finally reaches the cabin’s door— smoothening his attire and hair as he knocked softly.
“Come in,” the same nonchalant voice spoke, shivering him up.
Is being attracted to someone’s voice really a thing?
“You’re late.” Taehyung squeezes his eyes shut at the instant remark.
“I-I’m sorry, Mr. Jeon.” He bowed, hands in fists to hold himself together. “I bumped into this—“
“No time for that, Mr. Kim,” the elder sighed, handing him some files to carry. “Get moving to the courtroom. Follow me.”
The nonchalance that dropped off of Jeongguk was stinging to his fragile heart, but what could he even do? Not everyone could be as energetic as him, right? So he just sighed and moved just behind the lawyer— trying not to stray away too far.
The hearing went smoothly, Taehyung’s nervousness kept him on toes but when he saw Jeongguk speaking and providing evidence over and over to prove his client innocent; one thing was clear: he was mesmerised.
Whenever he turned around to fetch a piece of paper or some sort of polaroid from the table, the younger’s breath hitched— so was the aura Jeongguk carried with himself.
Commanding and demanding respect, effortlessly so.
The air around seemed to be of a unique charisma whenever Jeongguk spoke, and it was positively pulling him in.
Maybe Yoongi wasn’t so wrong, he surely was weak for men who were a little older, knew what they were doing and also a little muscular.
His chain of thoughts come to an abrupt halt when the judgement gets passed by the man in power, adjourning the court and closing the case once and for all.
Taehyung’s eyebrows shoot up in amusement, he glances at the gigantic wall clock in front of them.
“In just an hour?” He whispers to himself, not realising Jeongguk was now sitting just beside him and packing back his stuff into the binder.
He subtly smiles, trying not to give away that he was happy with the indirect compliment received. “Yeah, that wasn't too much of a case.” He shrugged.
Sure, but he’s sure if there was someone else in his place— Jeongguk knew it would have taken at least three hours or an extra hearing later.
But he always came prepared and won cases like it was a promised trophy.
“T-that’s so impressive, Mr Jeon…” He mentally drooled, wishing it didn’t show over his face.
“Thank you, you should look through this,” he didn’t let the topic stretch on for long. “It’s this case’s file and you will need to analyse it and make notes— reach out if you have any doubts.”
Taehyung nodded enthusiastically, excited to get the first task of his interning.
But that is proven to be just a wave of excitement and curiosity because as he sits at the couch in Jeongguk’s cabin with the file kept at the coffee table, he wants to slam his head onto the same table.
“Goddamn, what are these words?” He breathed out, eyes almost out of his sockets as he read over and over again the same line but failed to understand even a minuscule piece of information written.
The same rich cologne filled his nose, and he lifted his head just to catch the lawyer with a tray in his hands. But what caught his attention was not that— rather how Jeongguk didn’t seem to like wearing his suit anymore.
They lay over his arms, hanging halfway as he shut the door and then haphazardly threw it over the couch’s hand rest and took a seat just beside Taehyung.
And he feels like fainting because the shirt sticks to Jeongguk’s body in all the right places, defined bicep and pectoral muscles flexing visibly and he fails to keep his eyes off of them.
A hand waves right in front of his eyes and he has to snap himself back into the real world. He feels embarrassed, red coats his cheeks as the elder looks at him with a raised eyebrow. “I’ve been asking you to eat the donuts for a minute now, Taehyung-ssi.”
“O-oh,” he flushed, sinking into the couch to make himself small. He wanted to hide from under Jeongguk’s gaze that was pinned on him but there was no escape. “I’m sorry… I was just…”
Taehyung looked around, finding an excuse to get himself out of the awkward situation. “I was just wondering how to decipher all this,” he gulped. “I really feel myself not understanding a thing!”
Well, that was partially not a lie. Jeongguk should buy that and not speculate about him anymore. He mentally rejoiced and nodded to himself, patting himself in his brain.
But he malfunctioned the very next second when the other leaned in to take a look at where he was pointing to in the file. His mouth flew open at the lack of breath in his lungs at the proximity, and he couldn’t utter another word for a whole minute while Jeongguk read the text and munched on his share of donuts.
No one said anything for the time being, but Taehyung could feel his resolve breaking and heart thrumming into his chest. Is this what love at first sight feels like?
And when finally, Jeongguk looked back towards his eyes— the world around them seemed to fade into thin air.
Without even realising, Taehyung’s eyes, dazed and hooded— move towards the other’s lips which had slight crumbs of the donuts which he had just now finished eating. His hands almost reached out to brush them off but he realised in time— fisting them over the couch.
Jeongguk cleared his throat rather loudly, eyes blinking as if he just managed to come out of a spell.
Taehyung was no better, he still couldn’t wrap his head around what had just happened.
Both of them could sense the awkward air that surrounded them, but nobody was brave enough to acknowledge— what would they even say?
The senior looked around the room, wiping over his lips to try and compose himself.
“Y-you should eat your donuts.” He tried diverting the topic, filling the silence between them. Taehyung nodded without a word.
“I’ll make some pointers and hand them to you,” Jeongguk continued, fetching the file from the younger’s hands and moving towards his desk.
And if they were both red on the cheeks, let’s not talk about that.
Namjoon squints his eyes at Jeongguk, who hasn’t even opened his mouth ever since they sat together. “What are you thinking about?” He swirls around the wine glass in his hands.
An exasperated sigh leaves Jeongguk’s mouth. “Nothing really, I’ve been swamped up with work and with the new intern— it will be more busy.”
The elder hummed. “He’s pretty, isn’t he?”
Jeongguk resists the smile that conjured up over his lips, and resorts to taking a gulp of his drink instead. This morning’s incident plays in his mind, and he finds himself indeed agreeing.
“Yeah,” with the nonchalance he feigned, no one would decipher he was amused or interested but it was Namjoon we are talking about.
“Just ‘yeah’?”
The younger’s sharp eyes snap towards him, and he raises his eyebrows in protest. “What do you mean?”
“Damn, why are you so defensive already?” Namjoon smirked knowingly, “do you’ve something to share, huh?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, hyung.” Jeongguk scoffed.
He did. He definitely did know what this was about.
“Come on, he’s literally your type.”
He looks at Namjoon in bewilderment and disbelief, eyes wide and accusing. “I never told you that?!”
“You once told me you like pretty boys who would fit in your arms and let you take care of them.”
Jeongguk rolled his eyes, “and?”
“Taehyung literally is so pretty, man. How are you not yet noticing it?”
Oh. Now who was going to tell Namjoon that he had noticed for sure? He just didn’t want to acknowledge it in front of someone or worse— to himself. It would feel too real then, and it’s wrong.
“Hmm,” he hummed, dismissive of the elder who just rolled his eyes at the act.
“You’re doing this again, running away from what you actually feel. Can you open up and stop acting like this for a while?”
Jeongguk didn’t answer, but he looked a little lost staring into the own-made abyss ahead. Namjoon sighed, squeezing a hand over the younger’s shoulders.
“I’m okay.” He answered. “You know how I am with new people and new meetings— it never fails to make me scared.”
“I’m sorry, I just jumped into conclusions like that,” he mused, guilty of not thinking back his words before speaking. “I know how much you’ve gone through and tried your best to come out of that dark place.” The elder reassured with his heart on sleeve. “I’m proud of you, you know that right?”
Jeongguk’s eyes softened at the edges and he barely managed to control himself from tearing up. He nodded. “Y-yeah.”
Namjoon smiles, hands now coming back down to rest on the bar counter. “And stop being so uptight with the kid, oh lord!”
The younger looked at him with his lips pressed in a thin line. “And how do you come to that conclusion now?”
Namjoon scoffed, “like I don’t know you.”
“How do you want me to act?” He countered.
“Uh well— a bit kindly, I guess?”
“Sure, I’ll try.” Jeongguk dramatically answered back, shaking his head at the absurdity of the conversation as Namjoon burst out laughing.
“We both know you wouldn’t.” He speaks in between his chuckles and the younger raises an eyebrow.
“Then why are you even trying?”
“Didn’t hurt nobody, did it?” He sassed and downed the wine whole in one go, groaning in contentment later at at the liquid that trailed down his throat. “Damn, this shit good.” He remarked.
“Thank me later,” Jeongguk leaned over the counter, still swirling the glass between his fingers as his mind drifted off to how the day went— not too chaotic but for sure, eventful.
Taehyung is definitely pretty, too pretty for his heart.
“All hail, my rich best friend.” Namjoon bowed dramatically, making Jeongguk squint his eyes.
“Talking like you don’t have money.”
“I’m broke for you, daddy.”
The face the younger makes made Namjoon snort out loud, smacking a hand over Jeongguk’s thighs who was still looking at him with the same disgusted expression.
“Don’t you ever open your mouth again.” He curses under his breath. “Bastard.”
“I’m sorry,” he cackles up and vibrates with the laughter that courses through the whole of his body. “Your f-face was so worth seeing, oh god. I should’ve recorded it!”
Jeongguk looks at him with disbelief written all over his face, he analyses the hand over his thigh and removes it. “I don’t feel safe with you anymore.” He spats out, shaking his head and dramatically moving away before Namjoon holds onto him.
“No!” He whined, resting his forehead over Jeongguk’s shoulders who groaned in fake exasperation.
“Are you really drunk right now?”
“I don’t know,” he whined again, “but I wanna sleep, good night!!”
“Fucker,” Jeongguk shrugged his shoulders but to no avail. “Did he really just sleep on me…” He rubs a hand over his face.
He sometimes really doubts who’s the younger one between them, but he’s accepted his fate long ago already so he just sighs and gets himself mentally ready for the ride back home.
It’s been a week Taehyung has been working with Jeongguk, and his little crush just keeps increasing as days pass. The infatuation working him up more than it should.
Every little thing he does makes Taehyung feel butterflies, be it as simple as just cracking a professional smile.
Oh, the lawyer is so fine.
Right now, he’s losing his fucking mind because Jeongguk decided he felt too hot even when the air condition worked perfectly fine.
He feels hazed and so bothered when he looks at the shirt sleeves rolled up until the elder’s elbows. Physically restraining himself wouldn't be enough for the way his eyes can’t stop looking at the veins popping. Those biceps that are so ripped and bulky—
“Taehyung-ssi?” He breaks himself out of his thoughts when Jeongguk calls him up with his eyes still trained over the book he’s reading.
“Ye-yes,” he walks over the desk, standing just in front of the lawyer.
“How would you deal with a situation where a client asks you for something that is unethical— or more likely against your principles as a lawyer?”
Taehyung clears his throat, this is a daily routine for them. Jeongguk asks him random questions to test him, successfully getting him ready for the future.
He straightens up in a professional stance and opens his mouth to answer.
“For a situation like that, I’ll make sure to maintain a professional and calm stature.” Taehyung starts. “I’ll make the client understand my beliefs and offer them alternatives that align with my ethics and principles. If they are fine with that, we may proceed. If not— then I'll suggest they switch up attorneys.”
Taehyung looks forward to the other, who’s looking at him with a frown on his face. He panics, did he say something wrong?
The younger starts calculating under his brain and remembering what he said just a while ago— and he looks up in surprise when a chuckle leaves Jeongguk’s mouth.
“Good job, Taehyung-ssi!” For the first time, he’s looking at the elder smiling like that. And he feels accomplished for that. A shy smile threatens out of his lips but he conceals it as Jeongguk looks up at him, making the previous nervousness and doubt vanish away once and for all.
“Thank you, Mr Jeon!” He smiles gratefully, bowing.
“Also, your cabin is ready.” His smile drops.
What does he mean by his cabin is ready?
“O-oh…” he still manages to speak, not wanting to give away his disappointment.
“Yeah, and you can shift anything and everything you want in there by today.” Jeongguk adds, clearly not noticing the frown of displease over Taehyung’s face.
“Sure.” He simply answered, bowing as he took the keys the other was handing him out before busying himself with the book he has been reading for hours on end.
“Good luck!” And Taehyung could just smile and nod.
The cabin looks good, it’s big and spacious and everything Taehyung would love in a place to work in. But he looks towards his right where Jeongguk’s cabin is supposed to be and deflates a bit.
He can’t believe he’s sulking because he’s been assigned a room to work in. But his mind can only get the fact inside that he won’t be able to stare at the elder while he works, or they can’t talk between work hours while Jeongguk sips on his very bitter coffee that Taehyung hates and makes a face at.
He plops down over the swivel chair, it’s unreal— but he finds himself only missing that handsome face he’s got used to being around for a week now.
It’s frustrating, how it hasn’t even been a month before he’s feeling all sorts of synonyms of infatuation for Jeongguk. Just how downright bad did he have to be for yearning to stay beside the man the whole day while he worked?
Pathetic. And he’s going to blame the elder for being and looking so godly doing anything and everything.
It’s lethal how Jeongguk doesn’t even understand his effect on him— or maybe he does. But is too shy to actually acknowledge it.
Taehyung frowns, his lips curling upwards in a slow smirk. If he looks back to a week ago when they were almost into each other’s faces, and if he remembers clearly; he’s sure the attorney had blushed and gotten flustered.
He was no better, but if Jeongguk had acted like that, it surely meant something. Right?
Taehyung pondered for a few more minutes, work long forgotten on the desk as he stared at nothing in particular and tried to make sense of it all.
Now that he isn’t going to stay with Jeongguk the whole day and work together, what should he do in order to catch his attention?
He hummed, chin over his palms as he got familiar with the sensations he always felt when he thought about the senior.
So… Yoongi was indeed right, huh?
He’s definitely into older men. And a certainly very fine one at that.
Just then, the intercom on his desk rings loudly, interrupting him out of his reverie quickly and flinching him up.
“I see you’re already slacking off from the moment I sent you away.” Jeongguk’s voice filled his ears from the other side the moment he picked up the call, and he shivered at that deep voice of the elder filling his eardrums.
Before he could even mutter an apology, Jeongguk spoke yet again, not giving him a chance to counter back anymore. “I want that demo case solved by six in the evening, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”
The line goes silent, and Taehyung is left dealing with the onslaught of emotions he feels.
Terrified, sure, ‘cause he knows Jeongguk was serious and he can’t not obey him without being pinned down by that very familiar glare later on.
But he also feels seen, like the elder couldn’t stop himself from checking on what he was doing now that he isn’t in front of his eyes.
And Taehyung doesn’t realise what goes through his brain before he’s blushing.
And god, he really is a pathetic case.
When the clock struck six in the evening finally, Taehyung sighed out loud.
“Finally!” He rejoices and leaves the cabin as soon as he can, knocking on Jeongguk’s door and entering as soon as he hears the approval.
“Quite on time,” the elder remarks, making him scoff internally.
‘If only you knew how to crack a smile,’ he thinks, bitter in his mind but his smile stays polite. “Of course, sir.” He bites back the ‘anything for you’ under his throat itself because he realises it isn’t the perfect time to start with the mischief planning in his head.
All while Jeongguk examines the pointers he’s made in his diary, Taehyung admires him. Like a fool, a stupid smile graces his lips slowly but gradually.
He tries concealing it, but fails miserably. He feels too giddy seeing the elder after so many hours of missing him in agony.
The lawyer is nodding as he looks over the lines, looking impressed and it relieves him.
Though the need to run his eyes all over the elder’s pretty face overpowers it, and he’s shamelessly staring. He knows— but he just can’t stop.
Taehyung realises that he can’t be caught and be embarrassed for the second time today, so he averts his eyes towards the floor to ceiling window to his front which has a view of the outside world.
“This is all very well done,” Jeongguk spoke neutrally, closing the diary and looking up at him finally with a small smile grazing his lips.
And the younger feels giddy again, getting compliments by his very uptight senior might be his most favourite thing in the world. He freaking loves it .
“Thank you, Mr Jeon!” He chimed, bowing his head slightly.
His stomach lightly growls just a minute later, making him lift his head and stare at Jeongguk in what one could decipher as embarrassment. Taehyung realises he hasn’t eaten since the morning. His breakfast was just a sandwich which he forced down the throat because eating in the morning when he hasn’t been an exact morning bird for a whole year was a fucking task.
A nauseating one at that.
The elder chuckles, “you didn’t get your lunch?”
He meekly nods, pressing his lips in a thin line before slightly pouting. “I forgot to.” He wouldn’t tell him that he was too engrossed in the demo case to impress Jeongguk.
Nuh-uh.
His mouth slightly hangs open when the other fetches his wallet from over the desk and moves the black card towards him to take into his own hands.
“M-Mr Jeon—“ he countered, eyes wide and dumbfounded.
“It’s alright, a few dollars won’t make a dent in my account anyway.” If Taehyung didn’t know any better, he’d feel Jeongguk is bragging about his wealth. But he realises it’s the truth.
Being the highest paid Criminal Defence Attorney who rarely loses a case— it’s not so surprising he has a black card for himself.
He bows again, taking the card and gulping at the shiny thing his hands have gotten a hold of. His broke and poor college student persona still sticks with him as he analyses the card in amusement while on his way to the cafeteria.
Back at home, he couldn’t control himself from calling Yoongi. He doesn’t really care if it’s too late. The man surely takes a nap in the afternoon so he should be ready to listen to his miseries.
“Damn, Taehyung, it’s like one!” The grumpiness oozed out of him but the younger could care less. “Couldn’t you wait for a few hours?”
Taehyung huffed, “you know I’m not a morning person, I could kill people that time around.”
“Is this what you called me for?”
“What? Of course not!” Taehyung yelled. “I-I…” he feels himself getting red in the face and hesitant to speak up but he realises any more time he wasted— Yoongi would just grow even more frustrated.
“God, hurry up!”
“Ihaveacrushonmrjeon.” He let out in one breath, his words making no sense.
“Yeah, I don’t have energy for this.” The elder speaks in utter disbelief, but Taehyung whines high in his throat.
“I said… I have a fucking crush on Mr Jeon.” He grits his teeth to try and subside the embarrassment he feels admitting that to the same person he swore to that he wouldn’t give in to this temptation.
“Oh!” Yoongi sounds delighted but it only stays for a minute. “Wow, great. Now can I sleep, Your Highness?” Sarcasm drips through his tone and it has Taehyung scoffing.
“I want you to tell me how to deal with this.” He pouts, burying his face in his pillow.
“Yeah well, I want you to leave me the fuck alone and let me sleep. Will you do that?”
Taehyung groans, “you’re such a useless friend!”
“Thanks, can I cut the call?” Yoongi speaks. “I’m, in fact— very much of a morning person!” The annoying smile that he has on his face can be sensed by him even through the phone.
“Fine! I hate you.” He grumbles and rushes to cut the call before the elder, desperate to show he’s really angry at his ignorant of a best friend.
Next morning, his phone tings with an onslaught of messages when he was very grumpily getting himself ready for the day.
It was Yoongi. Taehyung giggled, of course he felt guilty after being so rude to him last night. Deserved. That’s what you get for messing with him, he thinks.
yoongi boongi

bubye, mwah! 💋
yoongi boongi
ew.
bye.
Even the heavens know Taehyung is anything but not chaotic, so he’s going to make sure this will be a nostalgic memory lane for Jeongguk he’d love and hate visiting.
Is he being delusional thinking that he’d succeed in this mischief of his without getting fired? When he’s just an intern at a measly salary? Of fucking course.
But does he feel like he can back off from this plan of his? No.
Even if his knees buckle whenever Jeongguk looks into his eyes, he’s on a mission and would only back down at the wildest adversity.
With all these thoughts conjuring up his brain, he climbs down from the bus and strides towards the firm on the topmost floor.
Heaving deep breaths before pushing through the corridors and towards his own cabin first, he tries hearing some commotion from the one beside him but hears nothing. Bravo, he can enter right now and shoot his shot for starters.
Taehyung knocks on the door, smiling in giddiness as he enters the room upon approval. “Good morning, Mr Jeon!” His cheery voice spoke, lightening up the elder’s face as well but he conceals it well.
And he’s smirking slowly when Jeongguk just nods back, taking the file he prepared from the conclusions of the last hearing they attended together. “I think these aren’t too accurate, can you help me with the last two paragraphs, please?”
The younger, knowingly, juts his lips in a pout but doesn’t make eye contact with Jeongguk— he doesn’t want him to think he has some purpose behind just yet.
That could wait.
He resists the smile that threatens when he catches the other faltering a bit in his stance, probably noticing his expression. But his determination stays put and he’s still looking down at the page with his fingers pointing towards the section he needed help in (or at least, that’s what he wants Jeongguk to think).
“Uh— this is perfect. ” The elder clears his throat, gulping the second later when Taehyung glances up and with the prettiest twinkling eyes known to mankind. Is he just noticing the allure or is he doing it purposefully? He has no fucking idea.
“You think so, Mr Jeon?” Taehyung then tilts his head in wonder, and if it was any other instance where he wasn’t so deep in his unlikely thoughts— he’d have cooed. But he can’t, for he’s stunned in place.
“Y-yeah,” he still manages to answer. “I know so, Taehyung-ssi!” He tries to conjure a smile which doesn’t look too constipated, and the younger is smiling wide and closing the file albeit excitedly.
“Thank you!” He chimed, and just when he was ready to speak once again to assure Taehyung that he doesn’t have too much work to give him today— he’s hit with an imaginary bucket of cold water with what the other has to say. “Also…”
“You look very handsome today, Mr Jeon.”
And he was out, and he’s sure so was the ability to think straight for Jeongguk.
Did he hallucinate the smirk over the younger’s lips?
“—gguk, earth to, buddy?” He flinches, hard enough to knock himself down from his swivel chair. He looks up and around just to notice he’s still sitting in his cabin and not floating in the air. He blinks rapidly to clear off the haze and then glances in front of him to catch a very amused and confused Namjoon. “Damn, what happened? I just saw Taehyung leaving your cabin.”
The smirk that spreads over the elder’s face doesn’t help, he’s groaning into his palms and sighing deeply later on. “It’s nothing about him so you can shut up.”
Jeongguk tries— he tries so hard to not let himself get nervous around Namjoon who’s anything but not sceptical right now. His face still feels like it's on fire though, and he’s not sure how visible the red on his cheeks might be.
“Jeongguk, I’m sure it is something because you getting so nervous… is unlikely.”
Now.
Now he’ll burst out. What do you mean he’s nervous? He thought he didn't look so?
He’s not! He’s gotten compliments like those almost everyday and by every other person he’s come across. He should be used to it.
“What do you mean— nervous?” He gets defensive quickly. “Getting compliments about me being handsome is a daily—“ he halts midway, his mouth hanging open mid-speech and he regrets it the moment he realises what kind of expression the other has over his face.
“Knew it! It can’t be nothing if it gets you so jittery.” Namjoon rejoices. “So… he called you handsome ?”
“Ugh.” Jeongguk groans. “Fuck yeah, he did.”
The elder giggles and scoffs in surprise. “He’s already shooting his shot with you, man!”
“What shot?” With a frown over his face, he interjected.
“Don’t tell me—“ Namjoon falters. “You know what, I’ll just let you be. Come back when you’ve understood what he’s trying to do.” He gets up from the chair and points to the file he kept over on Jeongguk’s desk the moment he entered through the door. “Check that, your client list you gave in for updating.”
And he’s out like the wind flowing, leaving the younger sitting in the whirlwind of confrontations and shock.
“W-was he really flirting with me?” He mumbles mindlessly, a finger over his chin. “B-but why would he?” He shakes his head like in an utter denial.
“Of course, I might just be looking extra good today.” He tries to be smug instead.
He tries shrugging it all off with a series of denials, but is it really denial when he keeps thinking back to it and blushing?
He doesn’t really have an answer to that, unfortunately.
All he knows is Taehyung was not flirting with him.
Yeah.
Yeah. Passing compliments to your colleagues (seniors) is absolutely common.
Taehyung might have given one or two to some other seniors as well, no lie.
That was, indeed, a lie.
Taehyung could swear he’s never done this, and it proves itself true when he entered his cabin and stared into space for a whole minute before sitting over his chair— with the same somber expression before he busted out like an insane person.
“AAHHHH!” He yelled into his palms, kicked his feet under the desk and then hit his head over it as well. “Why did I just say that?” He panics, thinking of every other possibility.
“Mr Kim Taehyung, you’re fired because of harassment in office hours.”
“Mr Kim Taehyung, you’re an indecent man!”
“Mr Kim, you can walk out the door now.”
He flinches out of the scenarios, “no, no, no!” Taehyung shakes his head harshly. “I didn’t harass him! I just complimented him and he didn’t look too disgusted even. You’re just overthinking.” He talks to himself, praying for whoever was monitoring him through the CCTV because he surely looks like an utter mess.
He gets to work then, half of his attention still back in Jeongguk’s cabin and his stunned face after receiving the compliment.
He has some hope.
It’s another hearing, but this time it’s not Jeongguk fighting the case. They are both sitting at the farthest back just to take notes for Taehyung. The case is complicated and has been running for almost a month, Jeongguk just wanted the intern to study from it.
The bench that they’re sitting on is small with relatively enough space for two people, but their shoulders and sides brush against each other. Neither of them acknowledge it but the butterflies in Taehyung’s stomach are going wild. He feels hot and mushy— Jeongguk’s sitting too close, he can smell his expensive cologne that makes him feel faint.
He tries breathing in and out from his mouth and concentrating on what the lawyer speaks and the pointers the elder scribbles in Taehyung’s notebook he borrowed for now.
It’s tough, it’s almost impossible to not look all over Jeongguk who looks so beautiful up-close, the scar on his cheek is anything but not attractive to him. It just adds to his beauty.
“Also,” he breaks out of his trance, “the person this lawyer is defending—“ Taehyung turns to look at who Jeongguk is pointing at and nods in an indication of listening to the elder attentively. “Is the actual mastermind, everyone knows.”
The lawyer snorts in amusement and disbelief, returning back to note whatever down and the younger bites his lower lip in what one could decipher as— shyness.
Jeongguk has dimples.
“I-I see,” he mutters, mind still wrapping itself around the fact that a man so perfect exists and he’s sitting in such close scrutiny to him. He needs a breather. ‘Cause Jeongguk is making him go crazy.
The elder looks up, turning to his left just to catch Taehyung staring. He raises his eyebrows in question. “Do you have something to question, Taehyung-ssi?”
A kind smile grazes his lips before it falls abruptly at the answer the intern gives back.
“You smell so good.”
Jeongguk’s, safe to say, shocked— but more than that, he cannot stop the warm feeling that spreads through his whole body.
He wants to look away, look away from those eyes that are beautiful to stare into, from the face that’s a treasure to hold onto, but he feels stuck in place and starstruck in his thoughts.
It’s Taehyung who realises that they’ve gotten lost far too long when people around them start to scramble off to the outside. He looks around the courtroom in panic, looking back at Jeongguk to catch him still staring.
A smile tries to break through his lips, but he bites his lips hard to not give it away.
Does the elder even realise? A mischievous smile decorates his lips before he’s smirking and snapping his fingers in front of Jeongguk’s face.
He flinches back to reality, feeling utterly embarrassed. “O-oh, I’m sorry…”
Taehyung doesn’t dwell over it much, knowing the other is too constipated with showing his emotions. He’s willing to know why, but it isn’t just the right time.
“It’s okay,” he giggles softly. “You really do smell good though.” He stands up, feeling a bit proud knowing he hasn’t embarrassed himself this once. “I really like men who smell good,” men like you.
He omits the last three words, opting to leave it out for some other time.
And he’s again, out of sight. But albeit— not out of Jeongguk’s mind.
For he stands stranded over the bench still, not even noticing the notebook has been taken by none other than the cause of his stiffness.
He looks into the space before him, and tries calming his heart that beats almost out of his chest.
No one has ever made him feel like this— as if losing every ounce of his sense and sensibility.
He’s never let people breach that boundary. Especially an intern working under him.
But Taehyung just managed to breach it, and he realises.
He fucking realises that he doesn’t mind. Doesn’t mind when it’s Taehyung subtly or not-so-subtly flirting with him.
And that makes him feel all sorts of dizzy, hundred sorts of butterflies along with an ugly feeling of the foreshadows his brain makes up at the back of his mind.
He’s doomed.
With how Jeongguk has been acting ever since he has slowly started flirting with him, Taehyung can’t help but feel delusional. Can’t help but feel somewhere in the elder’s heart— he has the same sentiments towards him.
Maybe he is wrong, but if he tries a bit hard; he can win him over. Right?
The elder isn’t too repulsed over his advances, that should be a good sign. A positive one.
His attraction towards Jeongguk just keeps increasing— gigantic at this point of time. He almost feels breathless whenever they’re both close.
And Taehyung likes seeing the blush over his face whenever he compliments Jeongguk.
He’s too fucking cute. And it’s even cuter because everyone around the firm believes Jeongguk is uptight and everything strict and intimidating.
But Taehyung knows a side no one does. He smirks at the realisation, if he keeps trying, Jeongguk might just give in.
Now, the crush was just not subsiding— it’s tough as it is. And with the profound desires he feels, makes him realise he wants Jeongguk to be his.
Wants to go on cute little dates, kiss him whenever he can and when the night dawns— deep talks and snuggles under the blanket would help him de-stress.
He can only imagine Jeongguk by his side, only him— doing things he would let a lover do.
Taehyung sighs dreamily, resting his chin over his palms and pouting, only one man occupying his mind.
The way he walks like he owns the place.
The way he talks like the softest person but his word is a command nonetheless.
The aura, the scent, the way he smirks when he’s amused, the way he’s so soft whenever Taehyung makes a mistake and he has to correct him— oh, everything about him makes him so attractive.
Jeongguk is scared, he’s so fucking scared.
If he keeps succumbing to whatever he feels when Taehyung does a little something, he’s not sure when he’ll be left stranded. Just like ten years ago— when his ex-boyfriend left him.
He knows they aren’t anything serious just yet, but it feels too real. When Taehyung looks into his eyes, he gets lost in those hazelnut ones.
And it’s dangerous.
He can’t just fall into the pit of love all over again, there are so many doubts he has, so many insecurities and experiences he cannot come over just yet. No matter how much he tries, they all come back to haunt him.
Slowly, after a failed relationship where he was the only one in love, he has withdrawn himself completely.
His mind and heart— both have accepted by now that he isn’t capable of being loved.
He’s too much, too old and too tough. He shouldn’t be loved.
Jeongguk knows it’s his insecurities speaking, the seed of doubt that was planted ten years ago only growing.
Taehyung is just having some fun, right? He’s maybe just good-looking in the younger’s eyes. Yes.
That might be it, no way he has romantic feelings for Jeongguk. That’s just impossible.
And why is he even thinking of it when he shouldn’t be feeling this way towards someone who works under him, for like six months. Then Taehyung would be a lawyer himself— he wouldn’t play any role in his life.
They would be two strangers again, two people who once were some sort of colleagues. That’s where it should end.
And he’s going to make sure of that.
Jeongguk decides he’s going to ignore all the advances Taehyung makes, will decline them the moment he tries a hand on it and they’ll be okay.
The younger won’t get attached this way, maybe he’d even start hating Jeongguk down the lane.
His heart clenches at the implication. Why did he have to land himself here again? He thought he’d learnt his lesson already?
Turns out no, because the way his heart flutters when with Taehyung— it’s far from the truth that he’d learnt and has forgotten falling in love.
If he hasn’t fallen just yet, he’s sure he’s in the process of it. It feels too real, too vivid just like years ago.
Jeongguk knows it would end ugly, he’s sure because he isn’t easy to love. He has too many flaws.
But what he doesn’t know is, Taehyung likes the thrill of chasing what he can’t have. And he’d get it by hook or by crook.
And now with his rapidly-increasing feelings and desires, Jeongguk would, should and shall be his.
He’ll make sure of it.
≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
Three more weeks pass by, a month since Taehyung has joined and snatched Jeongguk’s breath away day-by-day. Today, the younger is on leave for some work and the lawyer can’t help but feel the absence deep in his guts.
The past month has been… happening. The mundane life he used to live for years not even making it past his temporal lobe anymore. All he remembers is Taehyung’s pretty smile, pretty face and even prettier voice. So soothing and soft when he talks— he’s chaotic, yes. But Jeongguk has never seen him raise his voice at anybody.
Apparently two weeks back, they exchanged numbers. And it has only been even worse ever since.
(Taehyung has been gathering the courage to ask so ever since, but it only happened then.)
With an access to talk anytime, the younger would send in cute little ‘good morning’ messages, pick-up lines and photos of flowers. They never failed to make Jeongguk smile, but he played the usual aloof self of his, ignoring and shrugging everything sent his way.
And when his phone pings for the first time today, to his distaste— he picks it from his desk almost instantaneously. It makes him realise just how doomed he really is.
Jeongguk sighs, and then frowns when he sees that the notification was for an e-mail. He grumbles, rolling his eyes before locking his phone and throwing it back over its place in exasperation.
This is pathetic. Didn’t he decide he’s not going to let these stupid feelings take over him? Then why does he seem to not care about it anymore?
He feels ashamed, even though there’s nobody watching over him, he feels hypocritical.
A pout unknowingly takes over his lips, as he keeps glancing towards the phone which doesn’t ring anymore. The lawyer has forgotten the pile of files kept over his desk just beside him, and it’s so unlike him. Jeongguk didn’t remember slacking off like that.
But it’s all a part of life: discovering new limits we could cross. Sigh.
When his phone doesn’t ring for another fifteen minutes, he loses hope. He scoffs at the way he is acting and slams the first file over his desk and gets to work.
The huffing and grumbling doesn’t seem to stop though, and he might even look crazy to people’s eyes but he honestly doesn’t care anymore.
How dare Taehyung not leave a message?
See. This is what he was talking about when he meant with him being hypocritical.
Three hours of his head deep down in work and case files, Jeongguk doesn’t realise it's already lunch time but then his phone’s notification goes off— his hands move at the speed of light to put all the files to one side to give his undivided attention to it.
A stupid smile decorates his face the moment he sees what the notification is for—
Taehyung-ssi
missing me, mr jeon?
me
how’s your leave going?
Now, he can’t just say he has been looking forward to a message for hours, right? So he tries to divert the conversation for his own sake.
Taehyung-ssi
ignoring my question just like my heart i pour out to you everyday? okay :(
anyway i got my answer with the lightening speed you answered ^~^
Okay, shit. He could’ve been a bit less obvious. He curses under his breath and decides to ignore the two messages revealing his pathetic self.
my leave is going good, what about you?
me
just buried in work files, nothing new :)
Taehyung-ssi
lunch?
me
oh shit
Taehyung-ssi
knew it
me
i’ll go get it in a while, sorry :/
Taehyung-ssi
you better do, i’ll be going now!!!
take care of yourself for me, or who else would i take out on a date after you agree? 😠
Jeongguk chuckles, this guy is so incessant.
me
who said i’ll agree?
Taehyung-ssi
ouch!
cant a man dream now? :/
me
of course haha
He tries shrugging it off, knowing that the implication of being taken on a date by Taehyung doesn’t really repulse him. Instead, his heart flutters a bit. His cheeks colour red, but again— something stops him, always. The nagging foreshadow is always there at the back of his mind, making him resist the temptation to just give in.
The rest of the day goes smoothly, his mood progressively better ever since he’s talked to Taehyung.
He knows he needs to protect his heart, but admitting that the younger makes him want to just give up everything and run into his arms doesn’t feel all that horrible.
Even though he’s still scared and reluctant to do so.
Taehyung has been confident while choosing and altering through Jeongguk’s favourite flowers for a bouquet. The elder didn’t have a definite choice when he was asked his favourites— but he for sure said two that caught on his ears: roses and tulips.
Now as he sat in the reception area of their law firm, waiting for the clock to strike eight, the usual time Jeongguk left for home on Saturdays, he felt all the confidence slowly vanishing away into thin air. Now with the panic of coming off too pushy, his legs bounce in their place.
“Fuck. I’m gonna get rejected so bad, ain’t I?” He mumbles with his face buried behind the bouquet. Just then, he hears a call for his name. The same soft and deep voice ringing just the same comforting way, but he realises what position he is in and he’s scrambling to stand up straight.
“Taehyung-ssi?” Again the same formal address, but it never fails to send fluttery butterflies all the way to his stomach. “I thought you were on leave?”
“Uhh…” The younger trails off mindlessly, looking anywhere but the elder’s eyes, he’s sure he would go weak in the knees if he did. All the flirting he manages to do is only because of desperation. The doubt and fear still lies somewhere because Jeongguk hating him would be the last thing he’d want to live with.
The guilt would eat him alive.
“Hey?” Jeongguk’s concerned voice flinches him back to the real world and he’s glancing up, finally making eye contact with the eyes he has been yearning to see since the morning.
“H-hi,” he stutters out, the awkward tension palpable. “Did you have your lunch?”
Jeongguk smiles lightly, nodding. “Of course!”
“Perfect.” Taehyung smiles wide, his palms clammy with sweat and when he catches the lawyer glancing at the bouquet in his hands— he doesn’t hold himself back anymore. “F-for you,” nervousness seeped through him and he was shaking from the inside.
Is this where he gets his closure?
“For me?” The elder looked delighted, and he breathed out in relief. “Oh my, you didn’t have to.”
“Wanted to buy something for you with my first salary, you’ve helped me a lot in being better in the field, Mr Jeon.” He poured his heart out, heart hammering and nerves spited as the other listened to him, a gentle smile spreading over his lips which was despite him but it made Taehyung happy on the inside. “Thank you so much.”
“Oh, Taehyung-ssi, there’s nothing you need to thank me for!” Jeongguk exclaims, accepting the gift of gratitude nonetheless. “Of course I’d do my best to get you somewhere great in the future.”
“That’s true, but your help feels genuine.” Adoration brims the younger’s eyes, “that’s why… I wanted to give a token of gratitude from my side.”
Jeongguk is safe to say— endeared and overwhelmed. And if he feels butterflies in his stomach, he obviously shrugs it off. Like always, but it only comes back when Taehyung speaks again.
“Can I ask for something from you, Mr Jeon?” He scratches his nape, and the elder nods his head, still confused but curious. “Will you go on a date with me?”
His world stops right then and there. Did he hear it right? Date— with Taehyung?
The younger has only ever implied about that indirectly and joked here and there, never has he asked him about going on one so explicitly. And now, Jeongguk is stuck.
If he agrees, it would be too real. His blooming feelings and Taehyung’s will to take him out and be something romantic would all be too real and he doesn’t want that. He’s too scared for that. Scared of getting left, scared of it not working someday and getting left stranded yet again.
He’s a coward. And that realisation is making him miserable, but he accepts it. And he does the least kind thing ever.
He rejects Taehyung.
“No.”
He regrets it the very next moment when the younger's face falls, crumples right in front of him. He feels like the worst man on the face of this earth. His heart clenches painfully. He rushes to add something to not make this worse. “T-today I need to—“
“It’s okay,” he gets interrupted, Taehyung’s smile not really reaching his eyes and he gulps, why did the situation have to be so cruel? “I just asked… you don’t have to accept it!”
He hates that he sees right through the facade. He hates that he can’t just scoop Taehyung in his arms and let the outside world rest away for a while. It’s a miserable feeling that he wouldn’t wish upon his worst of enemies. If he asks for a hug, that would be selfish of him, especially when he won’t be able to explain himself later on.
Shitty, shitty fears.
“I’m so—“
“No!” The younger rushes to decline. “You don’t need to say that, what did I think? Asking my senior out just like that.” I’m not deserving of it just yet, he swallows down those words, wishing he really was.
Those words feel like a jab, Taehyung has only ever been so sweet with him. No one before him had made him feel so romantically appealing, and when someone did— he’s too scared to give in.
Taehyung turns around to leave, and he has to fist his palms to not get a hold of his wrists for he would have to explain himself for that as well. Face the reality that he indeed needs the younger to keep going.
Keep going and one day— he might just give in and let Taehyung be his rightful lover. The selfish thought makes him feel all the more pathetic, he’s confused over what he wants and he’s also become a big asshole who just rejected a date which wouldn’t even have been the biggest thing to occur.
Out in the night breeze, but it doesn’t help Taehyung’s heart which has faced his first rejection ever. It was an expected one but that doesn’t mean it hurts any less. He opts to walk to his dormitory— kicking pebbles in his way mindlessly as he tries subsiding the tears.
It’s not worth it, he thinks. He had thought he could take a little rejection. Turns out not. And that just makes a horrible realisation dawn upon him— he’s probably in love with Jeongguk.
His lips tremble, and he stops in his tracks with a sudden halt. This soon? It’s just been a month they’ve met and he's already in love.
And the elder doesn’t even want him back, given that he has been rejected just a few minutes ago— blatantly onto his face.
Now to live with these unrequited feelings might just be the toughest thing on the list of to-do’s for Taehyung.
God, he just wanted to complete this internship in peace, but his heart had to succumb to this stupid shit called love.
But when he looks back to Jeongguk and his pretty face and even prettier heart, he feels like it was all worth it. A heavy sigh leaves his lips as he glances up at the sky— clear night sky with no stars in sight.
Is it gonna rain? He chuckles humorlessly, the clouds would have sensed his gloom and wanted to accompany him in it— he thinks.
The first drop falls over the ample of his cheeks, and so does his first teardrop. He still smiles, dejected but a strange sense of companionship is offered to him by the rain that pours down slowly.
Taehyung doesn’t care that he’s getting soaked, his phone in his jogger’s pocket long forgotten. He’s too occupied to think about anything else but his heartbroken self.
He drags himself back to his home, shivering occasionally at the wind that blows along with the raindrops that have started pouring down even heavily.
It helps him in hiding his tears away from people’s eyes though— and he’s thankful for that.
He regrets it the next morning, when he wakes up with a high fever, his throat unusually dry and nose blocked. Taehyung sighs, how much more horrible could he make himself feel now?
Was yesterday’s embarrassment not enough?
He tries to walk himself all around the house, trying to cook something decent to not make the situation worse but gives up midway.
He plops himself down, resting his back over the kitchen cabinets and sighing at the dizzy feeling that shoots through his head, making him even weaker. He has taken painkillers but it wouldn’t just get better.
Taehyung gives up, stands up and stumbles to his bedroom that is thankfully not so far away and drifts to sleep under the blankets.
He makes a mental note to call Yoongi after waking up to cook something for him because he’s sure he won’t be able to any sooner.
Monday comes quicker than expected, and Jeongguk has stayed in bed, pondering for minutes if he really wants to go to work and face the person he has broken the heart of.
Taehyung’s down face and dim eyes haven’t stopped haunting him ever since, and he’s only dreading to meet him. But how long could he run away?
There's still five months left for Taehyung’s internship to end, and till then both of them will be in close vicinity for work. It makes him feel all sorts of emotions when they’re close to work— but then that’s exactly what he isn’t supposed to feel.
Jeongguk sighed, finally swinging the company's main door open and entering. He stops in his tracks and frowns at the bouquet still sitting pretty at the reception area desk.
“Miss, I asked for these to be in a vase on my cabin’s desk. Where is Sol?” The receptionist panics at that and hurries to answer.
“S-she said that the work will be done in a few minutes, sir. I think she’s cleaning the bathrooms right now.”
Jeongguk nods in understanding, “alright, just remind her.”
The lady behind the reception bows and nods enthusiastically, breathing out a sigh of relief when the lawyer finally leaves for his cabin.
He sighs, resting his head over the chair’s and going over the same incident over again. His mind has been doing that like clockwork now and it’s as if masochism. It hurts and makes him feel like burying himself deep underneath the ground out of shame.
Jeongguk groans and shakes his head to get the dejected face of Taehyung out of his mind when the door clicks open, he holds his breath.
The intern walks in, with a gentle smile on his face. He feels mesmerised— like in a trance as he follows the other’s footsteps who gracefully lets the file rest over his desk and then rounds it to reach Jeongguk.
His eyebrows shoot up in amusement when Taehyung rests his palms over his shoulders. “T-Tae—“
“Tae? I thought I was Namjoon?” The voice flinches him out of his reverie, he looks around in horror to find absolutely no one but Namjoon beside him inside the cabin. His wide and almost high eyes look towards the elder who raises an eyebrow. “Did you finally start hallucinating or something? Man, who knew my best friend would fall in love so easily? Congrats, buddy!”
When Jeongguk registers those words, he’s panicking. “W-what are you even saying? There’s nothing like that!”
“Oh, honey.” Namjoon mumbled sympathetically, “you were literally hallucinating Taehyung who has taken a leave today as well— want me to believe you still don’t have any feelings towards him?”
“I don’t—“ He starts with annoyance clear in his voice but stops in his tracks. “Wait, what did you say? He took a leave?” He questioned, his heart deflating a bit when Namjoon nodded. “Why?”
“Awe, look at that pout!”
“God, can’t I just ask why my junior I work with is on leave now?”
“No. Not when you were just hallucinating about your junior. ”
Jeongguk whines, “you’re never gonna let this go, are you?”
Namjoon smirks and shakes his head in negative. “Oh, never!”
“Lord, save me.” The younger mumbled, “can you tell me why Taehyung’s on leave at least?”
“He got sick after getting wet in the rain.” Namjoon said with a sad smile over his lips and Jeongguk’s eyes instantly widened.
“What?!”
“Woah, woah! Calm down, loverboy.” Namjoon teases yet again, catching the red ears of the younger instantly and smirking.
“He will be back tomorrow, right?
“I guess so.”
“Hmm.” The younger hums, looking down with an expression akin to guilt and the other lawyer is quick to suspect.
“Is something wrong?” He wondered, making him look up. Jeongguk pursed his lips, sighing into his palms before nodding slightly, still hesitant to reveal whatever’s been going through his mind since a day.
“I— don’t kill me, please…” he gulps, knowing Namjoon’s warth isn’t something he’d like to face today when he’s already pretty miserable.
“That will be decided after you tell me what’s wrong, no promises.” He shrugs, leaning back into the chair and waiting for the younger to speak.
Jeongguk bites his lips and finally blurts out. “He… asked me on a date.”
The elder tilts his head and moves closer, intrigued to know more. “And…?” The look on Namjoon’s face is scaring Jeongguk furthermore but he speaks again despite the nerves.
“I rejected him.” Squeezing his eyes shut, he ducks down in order to save himself from any kind of hit that might be coming, he lightly opens his eyes to check on the other just to see him blinking at him in disbelief.
“Look up.”
“No…”
“Gguk.”
He mentally cried, gathering the courage to do so. And when he makes eye contact finally— Namjoon looks very enraged. “I’m s-sorry…”
“Your face looks very punchable right now, you know?” A sarcastic smile grazes his face and Jeongguk’s lips unknowingly turn down in a frown. “You’re so fucking stupid! It’s obvious you are interested in him, stop running away just because that bitch of your boyfriend left you ten years ago!”
He knows he deserves this, how long could one be stuck over something like that? Ten years and still not letting someone enter his heart, Namjoon was sick of it.
When he doesn’t say anything back, the elder continues. “I understand that you’re still scared, but until you don’t try it with the right person, you won't be able to come to a conclusion. Taehyung really admires you, I’ve seen him looking at you when you aren’t and god— that boy is whipped. I’m not asking you to jump into a relationship with him. No, that can happen later when you’re both secure in your bond. But can you just let yourself feel? Ten years.” Namjoon lets out a huge sigh, “for ten years I’ve seen you mourning over that one person who didn’t even care enough to look out for you when you were stressed. Your money, your body, that’s what he cared about. It was so obvious but you chose to be blind until it was crystal clear. Did you think about how much I got hurt seeing my only best friend in a relationship where he was only breaking apart?”
It’s deep, it’s raw and it’s all real— it hits Jeongguk right in the heart. It stabs him just so painfully. And he knows that everything his best friend says is just the plain truth, the sad truth and bitter reality that still claws him out. He hangs his head low, and it hurts him so damn much when he hears Namjoon sniffing.
“I’m sorry,” that’s all that he whispers out, not caring if he’s even incoherent at this point. He feels bare of his feelings and emotions.
“You know what? The elder exhales a shaky breath. “Take a fucking break for today. Please go out, cry a bit— no! Cry a lot and then think about your feelings towards Taehyung. Look at me.” Namjoon commands, trying not to melt when Jeongguk looks up at him with shiny and glossy eyes and pursed lips. “I’ll just tell you’re out to meet an important client, yeah?” His eyes soften a bit, making the younger nod meekly. “I love you.”
A sob rippled out of Jeongguk’s mouth, he needed to hear that. Namjoon cracks a smile finally, getting up from his seat and rounding the desk to get to the younger. He makes him leave his seat and then pulls him into his own arms, and the way arms almost instantly wrap around him in a vice grip— as if Jeongguk was afraid he’d go away— his eyes tear up a bit.
“Shh, I’m not going anywhere.” He reassured, patting the younger’s hair. “You need to let yourself feel, that’s all I’m asking for. Will you do that for me?” Namjoon asked softly, feeling him nod into his neck. “Good.”
Jeongguk sighed, whispering an ‘I love you’ back and then leaving. The elder slightly smiled, checking the files the younger was supposed to get done with today and taking them with himself.
Six in the evening, and Jeongguk was still sitting at the bench of the park. He came here the first thing after he left his firm building. He had zoned out, with only one face in mind and only one scenario. Taehyung’s and his quirky shenanigans.
“Did it hurt?” He had whispered when they were sitting side by side amidst a hearing while the lawyer in opposition was presenting his evidence.
Jeongguk turned towards him with furrowed eyebrows, genuine confusion reflecting over his face at the question. They’re in the middle of a hearing— what could hurt?
But Taehyung’s answer had almost made him choke on his breath right when it left his mouth. “When you fell from heaven?”
It was not the pick-up line alone. No. It was… something else entirely. Jeongguk had been too familiar with the way people flirted with him. Of course he could get used to it. And a cheesy pick-up line could be handled very easily.
Back then, he hadn’t been able to wrap his mind around what it might be but now… as he sits staring to nowhere in particular, he has the answer to his question.
Why did he feel so affected? By a mere pick-up line at that?
It was Taehyung, it was the person who used the line on him and not the line just alone.
Taehyung’s eyes, his knowing smile when he blushed red and turned his eyes to the front and his genuine concern when he wobbled on his legs a bit when he was called up by the judge to put his side of the story.
All of those.
It has been an hour since they’ve been discussing this demo case, but Taehyung wouldn’t pay attention. Upon asking questions by the elder— he’d just scratch his head and look up with a sheepish smile and puppy eyes.
And Jeongguk had found himself melting, despite hating slack-offs. He tried so hard to glare at the younger but it was physically impossible to do so. Not when he looked so pretty in his eyes.
“Mr Kim.”
He never used that address with Taehyung, he tilted his head and stared at him in wonder. “Why that name?” A pout took over his lips but Jeongguk was stubborn enough to not look his way.
“Focus on the files, please.” He gritted out, still not looking the intern’s way who huffed at the order.
But then his face lit up, away from Jeongguk’s notice. And he blurted out.
“Your face is more interesting to me!” He had chimed, cheeky. “How about a kiss and I’ll behave?”
The elder visibly staggered, fucking staggered as if a broken tape recorder. His heart was ringing loud into his eardrums as he turned to Taehyung in horror and shock. And he was only left speechless when he just blinked his eyes in pure mischief.
Without any sort of consciousness, he had thought about how kissable Taehyung really was.
His full lips, so pink and glossy from the lipgloss he probably used. It was involuntary— those thoughts were absurd and he knew that. But he just couldn’t help at the moment. Lost and barely having any sane mindset, he had stared at those pair of lips with his eyes hooded and mind spiralling.
‘A kiss and I’ll behave’— the line worked him up in a way it left him breathless.
The distance between them now felt agonising, but before Taehyung could get any idea of it— he ran away. Ran away like the cowards he was.
“I’m not kissing you!” He almost whispered, legs carrying him out on instinct as if burned. He was… he burned from all sorts of desire he felt for the younger.
Jeongguk sighed, he hadn’t turned to look towards Taehyung but he had surely heard him saying. “Not yet,” with a mischievous lilt to his deep voice and if he had stumbled over his steps then— no one had to know.
He wasn’t sure what his feelings towards the younger were like, but he has surely grown a liking towards him. With the way his mind wouldn’t stay sane when Taehyung wasn’t around when it has just been a month since they’ve met; it was only clear there was an unspoken connection.
He just had to overcome his fears and be raw and truthful to himself, and everything would come back at its place slowly but surely.
It was Tuesday, and Jeongguk was excited yet nervous despite himself.
He really wanted to clear the air and talk to Taehyung about everything clearly. He wanted to make him feel cheered on and forget about how he had rejected him when he was deep into his own head and disregarded his own feelings.
But was it that easy? He had thought and it had only proven to be harder when he saw Taehyung entering through the door of his cabin. He wasn’t smiling— and that was what shut all the thoughts in Jeongguk’s mind.
His eyes raked all over the younger’s face, who wouldn’t look into his eyes until he had to.
Curt replies, nods, hums and short answers were all what he received throughout the day. And it wasn’t far from what he had wanted ever since Taehyung had started flirting with him. He had wanted an escape back then, but now that he was getting one for real this time— he didn’t want it anymore.
The mere thought of Taehyung not being his chaotic, goofy self and smiling like the sunshine he was pained him. It pulled at his heart strings so harshly he couldn’t breath.
He didn’t want that awkward distance between them. Exactly something he has provoked— but he couldn’t fathom it. And that when he realises how wrong he was in thinking he wouldn’t give in to the desires that spawned.
Because when he finally grasps Taehyung's wrist after leaving the courtroom when he was going to go away again without glancing at him again, he had realised that his heart really wanted him.
“M-Mr Jeon?” The intern looked back and forth from their hands and Jeongguk’s face, bewildered and confused at the sudden gesture. He had flirted, sure. But they have never made a contact like this.
“Why wouldn’t you look at me when I talk to you?”
“My hand…” Jeongguk couldn’t ignore the clench in his heart when Taehyung’s only concern was avoiding any sort of physical contact between them. He had done this himself, he sighed, leaving the younger’s wrist and standing at a distance.
“Can you tell me if you’re okay, at least?”
“Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?” The answered back with a frown on his face that looked absolutely fake, as if just a show to keep his emotions at bay. And it was surprising how Jeongguk could read him like an open book.
“You just… aren’t acting like you usually do.” It took a lot of courage to voice that thought out. He had expected a jab, something that would make him feel guilty but when he heard nothing, he looked up to catch Taehyung looking at him with a neutral expression— nothing really accusing in those pretty orbs.
He just thought Taehyung’s eyes are pretty… fuck, this was surely getting serious.
“I don’t feel like it today, sorry.” He smiled, and it didn’t even reach his eyes.
Jeongguk had to gulp down the apology because the younger was out in another second, and his heart sank.
He had hurt him too much, and there was no denying that Taehyung had all the rights to shut himself out.
They were here for work anyway, these stupid feelings weren’t even supposed to bloom. They did anyway, and Jeongguk despite being the senior between them— found himself succumbing.
He sighed, moving towards the elevator where Taehyung was already waiting. The air around them was awkward, reasonably so. Jeongguk dared to look his way just to catch the younger looking to his left, completely avoiding him.
He gulps for the nth time, heart hammering quite painfully under his chest. He’s gotten so used to the pretty attention Taehyung gave him that now he feels almost empty without it. Hollow with a void that echoed whenever knocked upon.
It was taking more than the usual time, but the elevator pinged a few minutes ago, alerting both of them. He knew the younger would like to stay alone right now but he couldn’t shake the doubt lingering because whenever they rode the elevator— Taehyung seemed unusually stiff.
He never voiced out about the reason though, even when Jeongguk had asked him about it.
If the air around them outside was awkward enough, the air under the small space was agonising. It was killing Jeongguk from the inside, he needed Taehyung to talk to him, flirt with him like he would if it was two days ago. He wanted to embrace the flirting and not run away anymore— but he was the reason they’d landed into such a complicated position anyway.
So, who’s to be blamed?
Jeongguk sighed loudly, and it was prominent under the confined space even more so. And when Taehyung turned towards him involuntarily, making their eyes meet for a fleeting second, a smile bloomed over his lips before the both of them looked away— blush prominent over their cheeks.
The elder cleared his throat, “how’s your fever now, Taehyung?”
The intern widened his eyes, where did the formal address go? He tried not thinking about it much and answered the question curtly. “G-good.” He nodded.
“How did you get sick?” He knew that Namjoon had already told him that Taehyung had gotten wet in the rain, but he wanted to feel the presence of him in some way.
He wanted to hear his voice, knowing that he was still willing to talk to him even though it was out of obligation. “Got wet in the rain,” came another short reply.
Jeongguk nodded, looking around the elevator to think of another excuse to tease a conversation. He opens his mouth, but frowns deep when the elevator shakes up a bit.
His head snaps towards his left where Taehyung is standing stiff and wide-eyed. And his first instinct is to hold out his hand for him, he waits and observes the younger tentatively.
Another turbulence, and Taehyung is gasping out loud and gripping the rail behind them in a vice grip. Jeongguk’s palm is still out but he pays no heed to it— too scared to do so.
“Taehyung?” The elder tries in a soft voice, his mind not fully assessing the situation yet but he has the basics of it. “Are you there?”
And when he turns towards him, Jeongguk sees fear clear in his eyes. He’s breathing heavily and his eyes are blown wide. “I—“ he tries to answer the elder but gets interrupted by the light going out the very next second.
His shriek is coherent and Jeongguk’s on his toes, “fuck, come here!” He groans and takes a hold of Taehyung’s wrists, pulling him closer until their bodies are touching and they feel the presence of each other within.
Uneven breaths and gasps reach his ears and blow on his face, and he’s quick to speak. “Taehyung-ah, please breathe.” His palms rub the younger’s back who’s quite literally wheezing at this point trying to get all the air into his lungs. “I need you to follow me, can you do that?”
Taehyung nods, eyes zeroed on nothing but his fists clenching Jeongguk’s suit in a way that’s heart wrenching. The lawyer hurriedly gets his phone out to turn the flashlight on and lets it rest on the floor that’s relatively clean.
“Okay, okay.” The elder tries not to panic. “Listen to me breathing, inhale.” He commands, his hands holding the younger in a soft yet promising hold, assuring he won’t fall down at all even if he were to lose his footing. He takes a deep breath in, watching with attentive eyes as Taehyung does the same but ends up whining when it doesn’t work.
He looks up into Jeongguk’s eyes, his own glossy and puppy-like, making the elder melt. He sighs, if Taehyung keeps panicking like that it would be a problem considering they’re still stuck.
“Taehyung,” he calls out, holding his chin with his free hand and making him look straight into his own eyes. “Look into my eyes, you’re safe. I’m here with you, just follow my breathing and take in as much as you can. You hear me?”
Wheels turn in Taehyung’s brain as he tries taking in each of Jeongguk’s words and then nods rapidly— mouth opening up because his nose feels too stuffy.
He inhales a shaky breath, holds it for a few seconds and then exhales out. Jeongguk is looking at him with such endearing eyes that all his worries and anxiety vanish— even evening out his breathing now.
A shaky ‘thank you’ leaves his mouth but the elder is smiling and shaking his head.
“Is it okay now?”
“Y-yes.” Taehyung answers, but on the contrary— his legs wobble. And the elder is quick enough to notice.
He chuckles, “wanna sit down?”
And even before he could answer the question, Jeongguk is hooking his palms under his thighs and settling them down, but what leaves him gaping is that now he’s sitting over the elder’s lap.
“W-what…”
“Shh, your clothes would get dirty. That’s why.” The deep voice rumbles right next to his ears and he has to calm the butterflies fluttering under his stomach.
“What about yours?” Taehyung just hopes the red on his face isn’t all too visible.
“Hm?”
“Y-your clothes?”
Jeongguk ponders, and then shrugs. “I don’t really care.”
“Why?” He doesn’t know what’s prompting him to question so much but he doesn’t see in himself to stop.
His eyes rake all over the other’s face who looks down before sighing out loud. He’s been sighing too much, Taehyung noticed. Is there something that’s bothering him?
“Because you matter more,” Jeongguk blurts out, seemingly unbothered by the consequences. Or just uncaring of laying his heart bare after almost losing Taehyung out of his grip.
“S-stop…” the younger clutches the lawyer’s shoulders in a grip that drips through his raw feelings. He hoped Jeongguk felt those. “Don’t say things you don’t me—“
“I mean it. I mean every inch of that sentence, I was a coward. You were there, so on brand for me and I failed to see your worth in my life until you vanished for two days and that was all it took for me to realise how much you really matter, Taehyung.” Jeongguk doesn't care if he’s rambling, because he might just blame his entire existence later on if he didn’t let the younger know what his heart speaks of him.
How tender it becomes when it’s about him, how all his boundaries are left broken because he cannot resist Taehyung.
The intern hears all of it with his mouth still open and eyes now glossy. He blinks rapidly to get rid of them and it has Jeongguk cooing out loud which further on embarrasses him— splaying a shade of pink all over his cheeks.
The elder sighs yet again, his thumb reaching over to soothe the frown Taehyung’s eyebrows harbour. “It’s okay if you don’t want to say anything—“
“I’m in love with you.”
Jeongguk stills. His soul feels as if it is trying to walk out of his body. Taehyung looks anywhere but his eyes but when he does— both their hearts beat in the same rhythm. They can feel it, the tension, the unspoken feelings hidden under the rug.
“I realised the same day you rejected me, I j-just, I can’t— you’ve so much power over me.” He sniffed. “I understood that you didn’t want me back but then you rejected me and it all felt so real that I cried myself on the way to and back at home. It was so stupid of me to ask you out just like—“
Jeongguk doesn’t let him finish the sentence, he cups his cheeks with both his palms and catches those rambling lips into his own. The response is instant, making his heart preen under his chest and stomach to feel hot by the adrenaline.
They detach a few seconds later, a string of saliva hanging between as their foreheads stay pressed.
This time, the elder stays just heavily breathing but his breath is positively snatched away when Taehyung wraps an arm around his neck and pulls them closer, attaching their lips yet again.
He can’t help when his hands circle around the younger’s waist, and realising how snug and small it fits under his arms has him losing it all.
Jeongguk goes in deeper, his lips moving frantically as the kiss deepens beyond their understanding of the situation. Taehyung whimpers into the movement.
They don’t realise when the lights turn on, nor do they notice when the elevator starts moving but when it stops and tings— they part away with bated breath, eyes blown wide as they stare.
“Woah…” Jeongguk’s head snaps up when he hears the familiar voice.
Taehyung gasps, immediately letting his thighs round away from the elder’s and getting up on his two feet, not glancing at anybody before running off.
The lawyer panics, getting up as well before collecting the bag and his phone before almost running to the same direction the younger did.
Namjoon still couldn’t grasp his head around the whole situation but he feels really very satisfied with what he saw.
“I just pray he doesn’t mess it up this time.” He mumbles under his breath, the man beside him left intrigued at that.
“What messing up are you talking about?” Seokjin asks, with a frown.
“Ah, you see, Jeongguk was an idiot enough to turn down Taehyung when he asked him out on a date so he’s mending things back.” Namjoon explains with a melancholic smile over his lips as if he was talking about his biggest achievement.
Which he thinks— it is.
“Oh.” Seokjin mumbled. “I shipped them too.”
“Really?!” The younger exclaims rather cutely, making him crack a smile.
“Yes.” He shortly replies and moves away, prompting Namjoon to follow through.
“We can make people ship us as well, you know?” He blurts out without thinking but regrets it the very next moment when Seokjin looks at him dead in the eye.
“I’m not blushing.”
“You are.” He giggled, making the elder roll his eyes and walk faster. He was, indeed, blushing.
“You aren’t getting away from me! I can catch up with you very quickly, you know?” Namjoon teases him yet again, matching his pace and wringing an arm around Seokjin’s shoulders who grunts.
“No I don’t know, shut the fuck up.”
Looks like Namjoon has been in the same boat as Taehyung, who knows?
“Taehyung!” Jeongguk has run with all his might, but couldn’t catch up to the younger enough to stop him from shutting the door over his face. He keeps slamming his palms over the cabin’s door but no response comes.
And whatever he hears is a slight rumble which falls deaf to his ears.
“Huh? Baby, I can’t hear you. Please open the door, I promise we will talk this out and I won’t run away again.” He speaks all of it, wanting Taehyung to trust him this once. “Please? I would kill myself before hurting you again, Taehyung. Baby, please.”
Jeongguk doesn’t care if people around are looking at him with weird looks, doesn’t care if someone who knows him has noticed him slamming on the door and pleading like a madman. All he has is ways he could win back Taehyung.
He gulps, almost defeated and dejected after no response comes from the inside still. But just as he was going to leave for his own cabin, he heard the door clicking open. He looks towards the space— waiting for a face to look through but it never comes.
His breathing picks up as he asks, “c-can I come in, love?”
“Y-yeah.” And he was lucky enough to hear it.
He barges through, locking the door and when his eyes land on Taehyung who sat curled up in the couch’s corner— his heart feels soft. With determined steps, he moves and sits beside, with some distance between them.
“W-why were you scared?” Taehyung spoke, not looking up from his lap just yet.
Jeongguk sighs, he has never talked about it to anybody except Namjoon and his mother. He gulps, and the younger notices it.
“It’s okay if you don—“
“No. I need to. Until I wont talk about it to you, I won't move on. And that’s what I need to do in order to love you without any care in the world.”
Maybe he doesn’t realise the effect his words have on Taehyung, but his breath hitched hearing the word ‘love’ from the elder’s mouth. “Go on, I'm listening.” Warmth spreads through their hearts when they turn to look into each other’s eyes, and Jeongguk nods and continues.
“It was ten years ago, I was young and reckless— just like you.” The younger pouts. “You’re more precious than me, that’s the difference.” Both chuckle at the remark. “I j-just met this guy down the line, we met in a bar. Both of us were frustrated from college and studies and had a one night stand.” Jeongguk’s voice shook, and Taehyung was quick to shift a bit to lessen the distance between them.
And it helped, because his presence was all that was important for Jeongguk to forget his fears for a while.
“He treated me like one, a fling .” It physically hurts to reminisce about those moments. “But I couldn’t, I was stupid enough to fall in love and when he finally dumped me for someone else, I was left broken.” He inhaled a deep breath and stared at his palms. “When I tried to ask him why, he just simply said ‘You’re boring’. All I did was try to show him that I’m in love with him but… it was as if he never cared. The ‘boyfriend’ title was just there, he never treated me like one. I was just a fuck to him.”
Taehyung doesn’t say anything for a while, because he doesn’t know what to say. He simply glances at Jeongguk’s palms and slips his own between them, intertwining together. “He didn’t deserve you,” he finally expressed, blood boiling. “He could’ve simply just told you away or made it clear that he didn’t want feelings to interfere. You’d have kept your heart safe then.”
“Hm,” the elder hums. “It’s in the past, I don’t have any sort of feelings anymore but the hurt still stuck. For too long.” Their hands tighten against each other’s and Taehyung looks at his side profile with the same adoration.
“I understand, and now I also understand why you’d run away from me every time.” He smiles softly.
Jeongguk turns to look at him, thanking the universe for making such an angel fall in love with him. “I shouldn’t have. You’re not him, you’re so much different. I’ve run for too long now, Taehyung. I don’t want to anymore.”
“Yeah?” Taehyung grins, cheeks flushing and heart fluttering at the implication.
“Hmm.” The elder nods, determination clear in his voice and eyes making the other chuckle.
“What do you want to do then?”
“Take you out on a date.” The reply is instant, making Taehyung widen his eyes.
“W-what?” He splutters.
“Yes, please? Let me.” Jeongguk almost begs, not realising that the younger would agree in a heartbeat. “I was an idiot to reject you when all I wanted was to say yes, I want to do this the right way.”
“Okay.” Taehyung whispers, lips conjuring a shaky smile full of emotions.
“Okay,” both of them nod towards each other, the shyness making butterflies in their stomach go wild with anticipation and excitement.
Jeongguk feels alive, as if he has waited for this moment for all his life. He might have, Taehyung just might be the universe’s gift to him. Because he already feels blessed.
“Where will we go?” The younger’s puppy eyes shining make him crack a smile so wide that he couldn’t control himself and blurts out. “You should smile more often, you look so cute.”
Jeongguk flushes red, ducking his head and Taehyung takes pride in it. He doesn’t say anything back but he knows the elder is just shy about it. “Where do you want to go?”
“M-me?” The younger points at himself and he nods, urging to continue. “What about a beach date? Something small and cosy? Oh— what about the Han River? Let’s go there.”
Excitement buzzes through Taehyung’s chest as he rambles his ideas to Jeongguk who listens attentively, with a fond smile over his lips. This feels good.
Jeongguk could get used to this. Definitely.
Sunday came sooner than expected, and so did their date night.
After hours and hours of Taehyung almost eating all of Yoongi’s ears— he was ready.
He had panicked so much that the elder almost thought it was a wedding he was preparing himself for.
“Can you like— calm down? You look good in whatever you wear!” Yoongi’s voice spoke from the video call, making Taehyung plop down onto the floor with a huff. He pouts, resting his chin over his palms and sulking.
“I want to impress him.” He mumbles.
“And I think if he’s taking you out on a date— he’s already impressed enough.”
“Oh. You’re right!!” The younger beamed, eyes shining. “Also, you know what?” He blushed, twirling his fingers lightly into his locks and smiling that very familiar smile of his.
“What did your DILF do now?”
Taehyung gasped. “What the fuck?”
“What? He’s older than you, packed, and very much of a DILF.” Yoongi explained, all the pictures Taehyung had sent to him proved those facts. He shrugged, not really understanding the crisis he was sending Taehyung into.
Jeongguk was already very attractive to him, thank you very much.
“Okay,” he blushes a deep red before blurting out. “He texted me to dress comfy.”
Silence. A long deafening silence before the elder blurts out. “And that’s what got you so red?” Disbelief evident in his voice.
“No!! He called me ‘angel’” Taehyung bit his lips, hiding his grinning face behind his palms.
“Damn, you’re so whipped. I hope he treats you well, Taehyungie.” Yoongi softens, his eyes in adoration at his best friend who has fallen in love.
“I hope so too.” He mumbles with a hopeful smile, eyes shining a new kind of sparkle— that he’d never really been familiar with. Guess he just needed hope. That Jeongguk would be there.
And the elder’s determination to make it right and the genuine smiles that he has been passing ever since proved it to him just right.
“You want to look cute?”
“Hm? Maybe, I don’t know if he likes cute things though.” Taehyung wondered.
“Oh, trust me, he looks exactly the type to like cute things.”
“Okay… so?”
“Wear something cute and comfy. Pink would look good, I think.” He suggests and watches as Taehyung’s face lights up.
“Thank you, Hyung!” He beams and cuts the call right after throwing a flying kiss the elder’s way and disconnecting the call.
He excitedly rummages through his wardrobe and pulls out an oversized shirt— it's pink and blue mixed but looks cute nonetheless. He pairs it up with a loose and comfy pink sweatpant. While entering his bathroom to take a shower, a lightbulb goes off in his brain.
He looks towards a certain drawer with mirth glowing in his eyes. He has not too long ago gone lingerie shopping. His pay is not enough to let him buy much but he bought a few, and Taehyung feels this is the right time to put it on.
He’s not sure if something of that sort would happen today, but even if it doesn’t— he’ll feel pretty nonetheless.
So, he wears a black panty from the set, letting his upper body be devoid of anything but the shirt.
His neck adorns a few chains which are his favourite.
Checking the time, it’s already 8:30 in the evening. Jeongguk might be on his way, he remembered how his heart was beating out of his chest when the elder proposed that he’d pick him up for their date.
He had kissed Jeongguk’s cheek, because there had been a silent agreement between them for no kisses on lips until they were a bit more established. They like it that way, they were not rushing, it was surreal.
Taehyung’s smile was unrelenting, and when his phone pinged with a notification, he was quick to check.
Jeongguk Hyung 🤍
i'm waiting outside, angel
Fuck.
Does this man not understand that the way he calls him ‘angel’ has him feeling weak in the knees and heart?
He collects his wallet before pondering, does he really need it?
and don’t you dare bring your wallet with you. yeah?
The message comes a few seconds later, as if the latter has heard his dilemma from afar. He feels hot with the way the message has been typed out. Commanding yet soft, just how he likes his men.
He giggles, before abandoning the wallet and taking his phone with himself, wearing his shoes before closing the door of his apartment room.
His stance is jittery as he climbs down the stairs, he has always used them when he was alone. Elevators scared him, but he didn’t want to tire anyone out if they were with him so he just rode them out of obligation.
When he finally reaches outside his apartment building, his eyes search for Jeongguk and he bounces on his tiptoes and waves when he catches the sight of the elder leaning against his car and staring into nowhere.
Taehyung walks towards him, only then taking in the outfit he adorns. White coloured button-down shirt and cream coloured slacks. He looks ravishing, and the younger has to gulp down because the thoughts that swirl around his mind are definitely not the most holy ones.
“Hi,” Jeongguk breathed out, smiling before his eyes raked all over his outfit. “You look… beautiful.” So cuddly and cute. He doesn’t voice it out loud, because he’s too shy to do that just yet.
“Thank you, you don’t look less yourself.” Taehyung grins, and his face feels hot. “Let’s go?” He asks, tilting his head.
“Ah, yes.” The elder moves away, rounding to go open the passenger door for him.
‘Gosh, he feels unreal sometimes.’ Taehyung sighs, and moves to sit inside, watching with fond eyes as Jeongguk rounds again and settles himself beside. He turns around and catches a few things laying over the backseat. “What are those?”
And just when he was about to reach and look, his wrists get stopped by none other than the man sitting beside. “Uh-uh, not so soon, baby.”
Taehyung gulps, and he just wishes it wasn’t loud enough to reach Jeongguk’s ears. “W-why?” He manages to question, feeling another set of butterflies in his stomach when his palms are settled on the gear along with the elder’s as he shifts them.
“Let it be a surprise for you, hm?” He turns his head and raises an eyebrow with a slight smirk over his lips. “You’ll get to know soon.”
Taehyung just nods, his eyes not moving away from the elder’s face who now focuses on the road. His hands are on his lap now— but he still feels the ghost of Jeongguk’s touch. And if that doesn’t make him feel giddy beyond measure.
Han River looked peaceful, with no one around at this time, perfect! Taehyung isn’t really sure if he’d like invaders when he’s finally getting to spend some time with his favourite man.
That title makes him splutter a bit, but he can’t find a better synonym to describe Jeongguk. He had asked him to stand against the car as he settled down everything that was kept in the backseat.
Taehyung’s eyes shined with something akin to want, and it was not just any want, but a long-suppressed desire that he needed to work on or he might just burst.
The man in front of him was too perfect for his own good, sure he had some flaws but that just makes him even more humane. What mattered to him was that Jeongguk willed to work on them and not push his feelings away anymore. He’s happy he’s finally getting his efforts reciprocated.
“It’s done!” The elder chimed, pulling him out of his reverie as he looked down at the various kinds of food and wine bottles kept gracefully over the blanket. From something filling to desserts— everything present and he chuckles.
“You’ve done so much…” he mumbles, tipping off his shoes while Jeongguk did the same. “Will we be able to finish all of this, hyung?”
“I can finish these single-handedly so you ain’t challenging anyone here.” The elder giggled, making Taehyung hit him lightly over his arms.
“Then what will I eat?”
Me.
Oh how he wished to say that just to watch the younger blushing the pretty red colour and smiling that beautiful smile of his. But he was still too shy. He mentally groaned, opening the pizza boxes and gesturing Taehyung to take a slice while he takes one as well.
They sat in silence for a while, the river’s waves the only sound that resonated. It’s a peaceful silence. Taehyung really likes the pizza it seems, because he has been munching on it without any word when he’s always the first one to initiate a conversation or simply ramble.
It lets Jeongguk admire him silently, the pout that takes over his lips when he chews, the silver of ketchup that sticks on the side of his lips before he licks it up— he can’t stop staring.
The moonlight makes him just a hundred times more beautiful, and Taehyung is already lethally beautiful.
“I like it so much, thank you for taking me here!” He chimed, snapping him out of his thoughts as he nodded.
“O-of course, Taehyung-ah.” Jeongguk’s hands absentmindedly reach over to the younger’s head, only then noticing the blond colour which wasn’t there yesterday. “Did you colour your hair today?” He curiously questioned.
Taehyung nodded excitedly. “Do you like it?” He asks with hopeful eyes, making Jeongguk falter with the emotions he felt at the moment.
“Very much, you carry everything with grace, angel.” He compliments, his mouth having no control with the nicknames he keeps slipping in his sentences. He just hopes he isn’t making Taehyung uncomfortable.
His doubts are cleared when the younger just blushes again, a shy smile on his face as he goes back to nibbling on his pizza slice.
“I’m saying the truth,” Jeongguk states once again, “I don’t think anybody’s beauty could compare to yours.”
He doesn’t care how down bad he sounds, he’ll carry that badge with pride. Taehyung is like a dream come true. He had never felt himself worthy enough to be with someone like him— especially after that one incident, but Taehyung.
Taehyung just makes it so easy to fall and be selfish for once.
“Stop!” The younger’s shaky voice speaks, cheeks full with the pizza as his eyes widen at the compliments Jeongguk oh so casually spewed. He’s never the one to get used to people praising him— he always gets too flustered and denies it all.
It’s worse when the man he is so in love with is doing the same, it leaves him breathless and questioning every inch of his sanity.
“Or what, huh?” Jeongguk challenged, totally not expecting the answer.
“I’ll not be able to resist kissing you.” Taehyung had his eyes fixed to the elder’s face who almost choked on his bite. He giggled, enjoying the panic.
His smile drops the next moment when the other keeps the slice back at its place before brushing his palms off of any residue. Jeongguk turns towards him with something akin to desire in his eyes— and his breath hitches.
“Then don’t,” the elder whispers, and closes the distance between them so they’re just a second afar— still waiting for the other’s nod of consent.
Taehyung nods, his breathing already catching up as his heartbeat rang into his eardrums. “Please—“
Jeongguk needed nothing more than that. He surged forward and entangled their lips in a way that had the younger gasping, and it only spurred the elder to kiss him even more breathless. “Fuck, you’re so cute.” He grunts between the smooching sounds and licks over Taehyung’s lips, asking for entrance inside.
The younger is so pliant he has to stop himself from going crazy so soon, they’re just kissing for god’s sake! But Jeongguk already feels so turned on.
They part away when breathing came to be a difficult task, and when Taehyung looks up at him with those glossy eyes, that only heightens his desire to absolutely ruin him.
His arms round the younger’s waist and he’s perching him over his lap the next moment, making Taehyung all the more preen.
“These clothes… they’re making you look so fucking precious.” He doesn’t know what’s making him so bold, but all he knows is— he needs to let the other be aware of just how much he is affected by him.
He rests his head over Taehyung’s shoulder and nuzzles his nose lightly over his neck, smirking when he feels him breathing heavily.
“Wanna have some wine?”
“Yeah…” he nods and gulps, fists clenching Jeongguk’s shirt in a vice grip. He had thought the elder would let him go to fill the wine glass, but he found himself still sitting over his lap while they drank away.
Taehyung bites his lips occasionally, trying to avoid looking into the elder’s eyes who leaned on both his palms and enjoyed the air that blew over his face. He couldn’t drink much since he had to drive them back home.
In front of the younger, Jeongguk’s appetite has almost gone because all he wants to devour is Taehyung. He knows he’s moving too quickly in his head— but he’d blame how alluring he looks under the moonlight.
He brushes a hair strand away from Taehyung’s face who was still drinking his wine— seemingly trying to gather courage. It made him chuckle in adoration. He was too easy to read.
“You should eat something too.” Jeongguk spoke, reaching over to the container of pastries as his hands instinctively held Taehyung’s waist to steady him and not cause a fall.
It just makes him fall all over again in love, and when Jeongguk puts a spoonful of pastry cake in front of his lips, his lips break into a smile so contagious— it had the elder’s lips turning up too. “Mhm, it’s so good!” He moaned in delight, chewing at the bite.
“Is it? I didn’t really know your favourite flavour but I thought you’d like strawberries.”
Taehyung chuckled, the tipsiness showing in the way he slurred his words. “I love ‘em, hyung. Your guess was so on point!” He played with Jeongguk’s earrings, feeling bolder that he has some alcohol in the system.
“Was it now, baby?”
Taehyung nods very cutely, making the elder smirk and pat himself mentally.
He fed a whole pastry cake to the younger who kept babbling about anything and everything, asking for wine refills that Jeongguk denied at one point but couldn’t resist at others when Taehyung showed him his turned down and sulky lips and puppy eyes.
He sighs, it’s gonna be a task handling a drunk Taehyung but he’s willing to do so.
“Baby, enough!” Jeongguk firmly spoke when the younger was about to take a hold of the wine bottle kept next to them, holding his wrists.
The whine was instant. “Hyung, please!” He tried to play his puppy eyes on him again, making them shine evermore and it had Jeongguk’s heart going weak but he refused to back down. He couldn’t risk it anymore.
“No, not at all. You’ve already drunk enough.” He states strictly, letting Taehyung sit down on the blanket before taking a sip of whatever was left in the younger’s glass and then collecting all the stuff that laid down, placing them in the picnic basket he brought with himself.
He turns around with his eyes wide when he hears a ‘thump’ sound only to watch Taehyung now laying down on his back— giggling while gazing up at the sky with his drunk and dazed eyes.
He chuckles in relief before shaking his head and moving towards his car to keep the stuff back in there.
“Hey, where are you leaving me?” Taehyung yells, his mind already thinking of every possible scenario possible. Jeongguk hears it, and is running back instantly after keeping the basket in the backseat.
“Nowhere, come.” He says before scooping the younger in his arms, his one arm under Taehyung’s kneecap and one over his back.
“Waah,” a comical gasp leaves his mouth and Jeongguk has to bite his lips at the cuteness. “Am I flying?” He wonders out loud, snuggling into his next next.
“Maybe?” The elder shrugs, now finally settling him on the car’s seat and trying to move away to sit on his own after buckling the seatbelt.
“You’re leaving me again,” Taehyung slurred, resting his head over the headrest and looking up at Jeongguk who just shook his head before lightly shutting the door and rounding the car to sit inside himself. “Oh, you came!” His face lit up seeing the elder beside him.
“Yes.” He answered with a smirk and revved the engine to take off after throwing the blanket in his arms at the backseat.
Half of the ride Taehyung had rambled things that were way far from his understanding and half of it was spent with him sleeping— his mouth slightly open and drool sliding down his cheeks as his head lolled side to side whenever a speed-breaker came in the way.
Jeongguk couldn’t help but coo, occasionally reaching his palm out to wipe the drool and then focusing on the road.
“Are we home?” Taehyung slurred when the car came to a stop, yawning like a kitten before straightening up and pouting while looking outside in curiosity.
“Yep, let’s go?” Jeongguk opens the car door and the younger does the same, but when he stumbles right after stepping out— the elder is quick enough to hold him up. “Hey, I didn’t ask you to get out, did I?” He questions, holding his waist before picking him up the same way as before, locking the door next.
“B-but you said ‘let’s go’” Taehyung pouted, playing with his shirt’s button looking all small and precious in his arms. It was making him lose his fucking mind.
“Sorry, angel.” He apologises and kisses the younger’s forehead who sighs into his chest, arms wrapping around his neck.
“‘s okay,” he whispers and kisses the mole on Jeongguk’s neck, making him shiver up visibly. Taehyung only giggles.
“Brat.”
“Your brat.”
“Fuck yeah.” Jeongguk’s possessiveness for the first time shines through, and it has Taehyung feeling a whole zoo in his stomach. Butterflies would be an understatement, because he’s sure a volcano was bursting inside.
The younger gets carried to his floor, and with the way he has gotten stiff the moment Jeongguk was going to press the elevator button without any thought in his head— he knew Taehyung preferred stairs instead. Especially after the incident.
He breathes out when they finally reach, he plops them on the couch side-by-side.
“Water…” the younger mumbles, making Jeongguk look over at him with amusement.
“I carried you and you’re the first one to ask for water?” He chuckled, shaking his head in fondness that overloaded before finding the kitchen and bringing two glasses of water.
“Don’t go, please.” Taehyung whispers near his ears right when he lays him down over his bed, arms wrapped tightly around the elder’s neck, his eyes closed.
Jeongguk’s eyes take in his appearance, flushed cheeks and glossy, swollen lips from the wine and kissing at the riverside— he’s beautiful, so gorgeous to even try and resist. He sighs, he shouldn’t stay here for too long. They had promised to take it slow, it would just ruin everything.
“I need to, Taehyung.”
“Don’t call me Taehyung!” He exclaimed, opening his eyes and frowning deeply. “I like ‘baby’ better.”
“Okay. My baby, let’s meet each other tomorrow, yeah?” Jeongguk tries again, hands trying to loosen the grip over his nape but failing to do so when Taehyung just tightens it even more.
“No! I want you to cuddle.” He shakes his head incessantly, making the elder feel helpless.
He sighs, trying to push away those arms again. “I’m getting in the bed, but you’ll have to leave me for that, right?”
Taehyung falters, and his grip loosens before he’s nodding sheepishly and turning to his left and waiting for Jeongguk to lay down beside him.
He grins wide and moves closer and into his arms, and Jeongguk is quick to drape the blanket over themselves.
When Taehyung takes his arms in his palms and rests it over his own waist— he splutters.
This is such a bad idea.
He’s already losing his control and when there’s a beauty laying under his arms, he doesn’t know how long he can hold onto the last thread of his sanity.
He tries subsiding all those thoughts away, snuggling back into the younger’s arms and closing his eyes— praying sleep came to him quick.
“Ugh,” Taehyung groaned in the middle of the night, feeling himself sweating all over. Weird, he had the air-conditioning on. But then it hits him.
He drank too much, and now he feels hot all over his body for some reason. It’s a weird kind of warmness— making him whine. Only then he realises the arm around his waist. His back is pressed to a chest.
Taehyung turns around and gasps as the face comes into his vision. Did he embarrass himself already? On their first date itself?
But then— he glances down at his boner. Couldn’t the morning wood wait until the morning? He grunts, making Jeongguk behind him stir a bit in slumber.
He turns himself fully in the elder’s arms, resorting to admire him until he calms down. His fingers caressed the sleeping male’s cheeks and lips, which were slightly parted in sleep as he breathed slowly.
“So handsome.” He whispered, kissing both of Jeongguk’s cheeks and then leaving one over his lips, letting it linger before pulling away finally.
“Mhm,” the elder whines in his sleep, disrupted and he gulps.
The arousal in between his legs is bothering him so damn much, he might just have to wake Jeongguk up if it doesn’t go away on its own.
“H-hyung,” he tries, but receives no response at all. He shakes him by the shoulders— nothing.
Jeongguk was a deep sleeper, or so it seemed. But a mischievous idea circulated his brain before he was smirking and slowly removing the arm from over his waist.
He lets the elder lay over onto his back and then straddles his hips, thighs spread on both the sides of it. Taehyung then leans forward and starts peppering kisses on the side of his neck, licking occasionally.
He frowns when he feels no movement at all from under himself, he detaches his lips and observes Jeongguk’s sleeping face, just a hair away. He pouts and pecks his lips, watching him sigh out loud but never quite waking up.
Taehyung grumbles, but then with no resort left— he starts grinding his hips down. Watching as the man beneath slightly shivers and his fingers twitch. He keeps going, satisfied by the result.
“Come on, wake up!” He whisper-yells, cheering in his mind when Jeongguk frowns and his eyes slowly open, still adjusting to the surroundings. No other source of light but the moon shines through the balcony to the inside, illuminating Taehyung’s figure that’s straddling over his lap.
Wait— what?
“T-Taehyung? What are you doi— fuck!” His question gets interrupted when the younger rolls his hips yet again over his groin, leaning over to brace himself with his palms grabbing both of Jeongguk’s shoulders who throws his head back. “W-wait, are you still drunk?”
“No, hyung.” He whined, his boner that’s still trapped inside his sweatpants rubbing against the elder’s now-twitching member. “I want you.” He spoke, ducking his head down and connecting their lips. “Want you so bad,” he whispers in between.
And Jeongguk was just a man, he melted. The kiss doesn’t even start off soft— it’s all harsh with tongues brushing against each other and teeth clashing as their lower parts ground together.
Groaning into each other’s mouth, they part away and Taehyung is quick enough to unbutton Jeongguk’s shirt and leave a trail of kisses starting from his throat to to the middle of his chest. Hearing him groan out loud and moan just a second later leaves the younger in a frenzy.
He feels pride with the kind of power he has over Jeongguk. “Fuck, stop, I might just come like this.” The elder grips his waist tightly, stopping him from continuing any further. It makes him whine but he obeys.
Or more likely— the hands on his waist are tight enough to hold him in a place. It makes him feel hot deep down in his stomach.
“I want you to hold onto me like this when I fuck myself on your cock.”
Jeongguk looks taken aback by his filthy mouth, but he could care less with the desires that fog his mind right now.
“God,” the elder tips his head back when Taehyung noses his neck again before sucking the skin between his lips and then sinking his teeth to leave marks, as if staking a claim. “Where did you even get that mouth from, huh?”
“Since birth.” The younger smirked, arching into Jeongguk’s palms over his waist and it made their arousals brush against each other once again— making both of their minds spiral.
“Where’s the lube?” Jeongguk asks impatiently, reaching over the bedside drawer when Taehyung points towards it. “You want me to do it?”
The younger nods impatiently, and he’s quick enough to flip them over the mattress. Taehyung gasps, his back arching when his sweats are yanked off in one go. But he had completely forgotten that he had worn something special inside.
The black mesh panties come into Jeongguk’s sight, and his breath catches under his throat before he’s looking up to make an eye-contact with the younger who looked way gone in his head.
“T-this… you wore this all the time we were together?” His shaky voice spoke, and that was when Taehyung remembered.
He flushes a deep red before nodding, biting his lips as he asks. “D-do you like it?” He gulps when Jeongguk chuckles very hotly before hooking his fingers under the waistband of the panties and pulling on it, letting it go and snap back on Taehyung’s skin. He watches it go pinkish the next moment and grunts low in his throat.
“Oh, I love it, baby.” He expressed, eyes dark and filled with heat. “Gonna devour you so bad.” He promises and aims his mouth towards the younger’s neck who moans out loud— until a decibel he wasn’t even aware he could manage to.
Jeongguk is rough, as if he has been deprived since ages and it only makes him cry out loud in pleasure as he gets marked like an empty canvas. His toes curl when a sensitive stop is bit on and he feels the elder smirking over his throat— making him clutch his arms from where it rests beside his midriff.
“Ah!” He kept moaning when the other’s mouth seemed to never stop the assault. “Fuck— s-stop!” His eyes roll to almost the back of his head and he pants heavily when Jeongguk finally detaches his lips and then hovers above him.
Their eyes meet for a brief second before the elder is ducking down again, but between his legs this time. He tries looking down, but gasps when his panties are slid away and something wet prods him at his hole.
It takes him a second to realise it’s Jeongguk’s tongue and he throws his head back, letting an obscene sound leave his throat as his hands move to tangle themselves into the elder’s locks, pulling at it when the organ wriggles over his rim.
“Ngh, hyung,” he keeps gasping at every stroke and slurp. “P-please, it feels so good.” He doesn’t know what he’s begging for at this point, but all his nerves are too active. He chokes on his voice when Jeongguk gets a hold of his inner thighs and pulls him more onto his face— diving deeper as he watches with his dark eyes how Taehyung arches into his touch and breaks apart.
He detaches for a second, breathing heavily before spitting over the winking hole again, smirking at the choked moan that leaves the younger’s mouth.
He eats him out like the last meal on the face of the earth, groaning at the sweetest taste. He hasn’t been more turned on than this in a whole decade time, Taehyung is divine for him. Too unreal.
He finally lets go after a few minutes, wiping his messy mouth with the back of his palms and taking in the wrecked state of the younger who pants like a fish out of water. He feels satisfied by his work, especially when he lets his eyes wander over the marked neck of Taehyung.
He pops open the lube bottle and gathers some over his palms and warms it before poking his fingertips over the younger’s asshole. Two fingers go in easily (thanks to his eating out skills) and he hovers right above Taehyung’s face who looks like he might pass out any second.
“Hey, angel.” He breathes out, pressing a kiss over the younger’s lips who turns to look into his eyes which are so puppy-like, in contrast to the events that are happening. “You okay? You still want this, right?” He asks, left hand caressing his blond locks and then lips pressing a chaste kiss over his forehead that shone with sweat.
“Y-yes, please, I want more.” Taehyung nodded frantically, “you’re doing me so good.” He gasps and arches his back into Jeongguk’s arms once again when the fingers inside him hit a certain bundle of nerves.
“Oh, did I find it, angel?” With a menacing smirk, he asked before thrusting his fingers even faster— aiming for the same spot over and over again making Taehyung cry out at each of them.
“F-fuck, I-I’m coming. H-hyung— ah.” It washes over him rather quickly and without much warning, he ruins his panties. His fingers grip Jeongguk’s shoulders who’s still going on with his fingers— enjoying how the younger loses himself under him and his digits.
He shivers after coming down from his high, whimpering at the fingers that have now stopped moving but are still inside his hole. “Think you can go another round with my cock, baby?” Jeongguk questions, taking his fingers out slowly and licking them clean all while his eyes stay over Taehyung’s whose mouth gapes at the scene in front of him.
So filthy and hot, it has him feeling another wave of arousal hitting low under his stomach.
“Y-yes, please!” He begs, squirming under the gaze of the elder who hooks his fingers under the waistband of his panties before taking them off completely, uncaring of the mess his orgasm has made as he throws it somewhere onto the floor.
“Yeah? Want my cock so bad you don’t even care you’re sensitive down here?” Jeongguk teases, thumb rubbing over his still-winking asshole and it has him biting his lips or he might just whimper out loud. “Tsk, let me hear you, baby.” The elder holds his chin and makes his lips snap back from under his upper teeth.
A breathy moan leaves his lips the moment it does, and the elder is chuckling. “Good boy.” And Taehyung preens under the praise.
+++
The elder strips himself off completely before hovering above Taehyung once again, taking in the halo his pretty blond hair creates over the pillow as he breathes in and out from his swollen and bitten lips.
He kisses him, deeply, unspoken feelings rushing through the both of them as they let their lips move in a rhythm akin to what feels like home. Jeongguk’s hands don’t know self-control, hence why they move down towards the younger’s waist.
He slips his hand beneath the shirt he still kept on Taehyung, and his palms squeezes over his waist, as if mapping its whole structure and size.
It leaves him breathless, how willing Taehyung was to fall apart in his arms and let him have all the control over him.
‘Fucking ethereal.’ He thinks right after their lips leave each other and they’re just panting over each other’s mouth.
+++
Not much later, they find each other attached from down there, Jeongguk’s cock deeply plunged into Taehyung’s ass who is on his hands and knees— back arching to accommodate the elder over him.
The shirt on him is still on, the elder’s command, and it sticks to him at certain places but he feels pretty. Too pretty when Jeongguk loses his mind over it and fucks him like he means it.
“Argh,” he grunts as the elder angles his hips better and starts delivering harsher thrusts, not so soft anymore. His body moves back and forth by the force that Jeongguk uses as he buries his face further into the pillow— making his asscheeks spread even more.
Jeongguk takes a hold of it, spanking each one of them in fervour before continuing to thrust in and out like a madman. Taehyung’s moans sound satisfied and almost guttural at this point, as if he’s having the time of his life.
The elder hopes he is.
He stops for a while before letting his chest touch the younger’s back and starting to thrust again, the angle making him go even deeper as he nibbles over Taehyung’s earlobe who throws his head back now, eyes glossy and droopy. He feels over the ninth cloud.
“You’re taking me so well, baby. Look at that hole, squeezing me in, so perfect. Fuck.” Jeongguk rambles, his movements not stopping for even a second as he revels in the tight heat his cock is surrounded by.
“I’m hyu-hyung’s cockslut…” Taehyung rambled, too deep into his headspace and he doesn’t realise the effect it has on Jeongguk.
His head is getting pushed back into the pillow and waist is getting held by the elder’s rough palms. It will surely bruise, but Taehyung could care less. He feels himself getting delighted by the idea of admiring those marks when he wakes up. Would love to be reminded of how he has been claimed the entire night.
“Fuck, you and that fucking m-mouth,” he grunts and keeps going in and out, the skin slapping sound a prominent echo in the room. He delivers a particular thrust and stays in with no mobility for a few seconds and it has Taehyung sputtering out a pornographic moan as he hisses at the upcoming orgasm of his.
“I’m c-coming…” he warned, trying to look back but then he rests the side of his face over the pillow and just looks into nowhere.
“Let go, I’m close too.” Jeongguk whispers, eyes softening now that he catches on how tired and out of it Taehyung looks. He reaches forward and kisses over the younger’s cheeks who smiles softly, making him crack one himself.
Taehyung’s eyes roll back the next second, and he sees white as he orgasms. “Ngh, fuck.”
“Hold on— shit, just a second. Baby!” Jeongguk moans out loud for probably the first time since they started fucking and it is the hottest thing he’s ever heard.
It has him feeling proud of himself. He could make the elder fall apart like this. It had him feeling a surreal kind of warmth all over. “Come i-in me, please.” He requests, looking back from where he laid down, watching as sweat rolled down Jeongguk’s scrunched up face as he bit on his lower lip whilst thrusting almost animalistically.
Taehyung was too tired to moan anymore, but he was thoroughly enjoying the feeling of overstimulation and the slight pain and pleasure that came with it.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck! I love you.” Jeongguk doesn’t realise what he was saying at this point, but when those words reach the man under him— his breath hitches and heart skips a beat. It starts ringing in his head, the same confession he’s been wanting to hear ever since their encounter in the elevator. “I love you so damn much, ugh!”
The same confession they’ve been rounding about for a week now. And now that it’s here, he doesn’t know what to do with it. Doesn’t know how to calm his heart and tears.
His lips tremble as he gets filled up until the brim, whimpering at the feeling as Jeongguk lays himself over him.
Slowly detaching their lower parts, knowing how sensitive the other might be, he simply rests his forehead over the younger’s shoulders, panting heavily after the mind-blowing orgasm that rushed through him, mindful enough to not crush Taehyung.
He frowns when he hears a sniffle, getting up to look at the younger whose face is full of tears now. He panics, “fuck, did I hurt you? Baby, why are you crying?”
He questions, softly turning Taehyung around so that he lays on his back. He keeps sniffing though, and it’s making Jeongguk even more confused as he thinks back to a moment later to remember if he ignored any signs of discomfort the younger showed.
“You’re scaring me, baby.” He gulped, anticipating a word from Taehyung who shook his head. “I didn’t hurt you?” He asked, making sure of it without any words. And when the younger nods, he’s breathing out a sigh of relief.
His thumb wipes over the other’s cheeks and under his eyes. “Then why are you crying, hm?”
“You c-confessed…” the younger manages to whisper, making Jeongguk stop his hands over his cheeks.
Taehyung falters, will the elder say it was just in the heat of the moment? Did he not mean it? He braces his heart for that but it never comes.
Because Jeongguk is breaking into a wide grin the very next moment, scooping him up and letting them fit into each other’s arms. He buries his head under Taehyung’s warm crook of neck and sighs. “I didn’t even realise,” he giggled shyly.
“Did you mean it?” The younger asks cautiously, playing with his sweaty locks.
“Hell, angel. I meant it! I meant every fibre of that sentence.” Jeongguk states, now looking into those pretty eyes that are not dripping with any tears but only glee. “I love you so damn much, Taehyung-ah.”
He seals it with a kiss, passionate and promising, and Taehyung reciprocates with equal fervour. They detach, but Jeongguk can’t resist peppering kisses and pecks all over the younger’s face who’s quite literally glowing.
The moonlight from the outside only brightened him up, making him look all the more gorgeous in his eyes.
“I love you more.” The younger confesses back, feeling like this might be a dream, but the proof of their love aches all over his body and with the way Jeongguk looks down at him with his lips pulled up in the fondest smile ever and his eyes wide with adoration in them— he feels he could stay like this forever.
“God, look at you glowing.” The elder mumbles, wondering about how he had managed to make such an angel fall in love with him. And he was unaware in the earlier moments— fuck him!
“How I got you is a theory only heaven above knows.”
“You shut up,” Taehyung pouts, pinching his nipples which makes him hiss out loud and grab onto his pecs.
“I just finished fucking you, baby. I’m not tired but you are, please mind your actions.”
He groans before laying back down on the bed and pulling the younger into his arms.
“Oh god, you’re shameless!”
“You made me so, sweetheart.”
Taehyung giggles, snuggling into his (now) lover’s chest and drifting off to sleep— feeling satiated and free of any stress.
Even if he gets a bit moody in the morning due to the lack of sleep, he’s happy that Jeongguk is there beside him.
And it feels so right.
