Chapter 1: A/C

Chapter Text

Cecilia sat by the A/C unit, playing with the blinds as she stared out of the window. The air conditioning was on full blast. It was *hot.* It didn’t help that Gigi and her had spent all day walking around the city, and had just come back to the dorms where many of the other girls were staying.

Gigi lay on her back humming happily, tossing her Chiikawa plushie up into the air over her face and catching it repeatedly.

“You think you spent enough on crane games today, Gigi?”

Gigi smirked. “I don’t know, Cecilia Immergreen from Hololive EN Justice. Do you think you got enough things from me from those crane games?”

This stopped Cecilia in her tracks. Goddamnit. This girl always stifled her so easily. That’s what happens when nonchalant, complete honesty meets with snark. Earnest responses always beat her out, though she knew Gigi had sent that one her way with a bit of friendly attitude. And besides, she wasn’t wrong.

“Mm. Touché, gremlin. Thanks, by the way… I like them.” Those last several words came out soft; she knew she had to say them, *wanted* to say them, but it was still embarrassing. Gigi was usually kind enough to not linger on it though.

“Sure thing. Thanks for going on little arcade dates with me all day today. I’m sure you had other places you could’ve been.”

Cecilia blushed a bit, clenching her fist on her leg. “Date? Ok, tiger, cool it. Besides, I was basically your handler. Someone needs to keep an eye on you, huh?”

“Uh-huh. And who kept us on the right paths? Made sure we didn’t get lost?”

Cecilia sighs, leaning her head against the window, in between two blinds. “Alright, I’ll give that to you. It’s true. I’m too tired to sass you today.”

“Attagirl. Come get some rest then.”

“Hey….”

Cecilia wanted to argue at the rhetoric or wording there, but again, she really was exhausted. A sudden muffled laugh through the walls made her exhale through her nose.

“Well, Advent still has energy, that’s for sure.” Gigi remarks, tossing her Chiikawa, sending it bouncing off of Cecilia’s head and into the blinds.

“I’m not getting that, you know.”

“It’s fine, I’ll just toss my little Ceci egg plushie next…”

“Don’t you dare!!”

Cecilia smiles and gets up, lunging at Gigi, who kicks her feet at her in response, screaming. Cecilia grabs Gigi’s ankles and drags her off of the pillow and down the bed as she grips the blankets underneath her, pulling them with her.

“What do you want with my feet, you freak!! Ew! Ceci’s gonna lick my feet, oh my god!!”

Cecilia laughs hard, letting Gigi go. “Shut up!!! I don’t want anything to do with your feet, disgusting!!! You’re the one who…”

She ends her sentence prematurely, quickly redirecting. “You’re the freak!”

Gigi slides the rest of the way off of the bed, her hair falling in front of her eyes as she huffs a bit, forming her lips into a funny shape to blow upwards, sending her bangs flapping.

“We heard that!” They could hear Biboo through the walls, followed by the classic windshield wiper laugh.

Autofister responds nearly in unison, but their words are entirely different.

“She’s the freak!”

“She’s trying to kiss me!!”

“I am not, what the hell?!”

“Oh my god!!”

They hear biboo’s laugh again, followed by, “Moooooom, autofister is autofisting!!! Get the camera!!”

“Goddamnit.” Cecilia sighs, plopping down onto the floor near Gigi, leaning against the wall next to the TV. “Here they go.”

“It’s ok Beebs, let them be! Leave them their privacy…” Shiori replies, muffled but still intelligible.

“Beeping autofister flirting all the time, dang it.”

“Don’t be jealous, Beebs, I’m right here.”

Cecilia stands up, brushing off her butt. “God, alright. I’m going for a walk. Unbelievable…”

“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, sweetheart.” Gigi chides, chuckling with her grandma laugh.

“Yeah, okay, yeah. Why don’t you say that LOUDER SO THEY CAN ALL HEAR?!”

It really was unbelievable. What the hell… they were constantly getting it from all sides. The fans, the other talents… oh my god. She says this as she reaches into her back pocket, pulling out her little Gigi egg plushie, giving it a squeeze.

“So much trouble for one little gremlin. Jeez.”

She was cute though. Shit. She really was. And there was technically nothing wrong with it… there were so many of them, so many girls. Not all of them leaning towards “traditional” values, either. Not very many of them like that at all, in fact.

“Wait, hang on!”

Ceci turns to see Gigi jogging to catch up, her backpack clanging off of her as she ran.

“Hey. Decided to tag along huh?”

“Dude, you’re gonna get so fucking lost without me. Are you crazy?”

Huh. Cecilia hadn’t even thought about that, really, but she was right. As usual. Annoyingly.

She wasn’t even sure where they were headed. Gigi seemed to lead the way, often turning around to check that she was still close behind, smiling as she did so.

“C’mon, let’s hit the butler cafe before they close! There’s a cute Yaoi Ikemen one down the street I wanna hit at least once before we leave.”

Cecilia rolls her eyes, smiling. This girl.

“Alright, alright. I’m not opposed to it.”

Of course she wasn’t. It made Gigi happy after all, and if she went to bed knowing Gigi had a fulfilling day, it was a great day for her as well.

The city was a blur of neon on the way back to the dorm house. Ceci and Gigi both had a little drink at the cafe, and much as they tried to say they weren’t really feeling the liquor, it was apparent in the way they bumped into each other more often than usual.

Was it the liquor though? Or was it because they only had a handful of days left together before they boarded their flights?

Cecilia turned this over in her head. She was gonna miss Gigi. The dynamic wouldn’t be cut short though, of course. There were still the morning discord calls, the evening ones, the meetings, setting up schedules together, collabs…. And it wouldn’t be too long before they were back together again. Life moved fast.

The back of their hands brush together. Cecilia had just noticed that Gigi hadn’t said anything for a few minutes. How many times had Gigi bumped into her since she last spoke?

….

Alright, I’ll send her a little signal back, she thought to herself. She can do with it what she wants. We’re both adults here, we know what we want and don’t want. She can decide. And if she doesn’t pick up on it, she’s an idiot. Whatever.

Cecilia shifts her arm a bit, and feels the back of her hand clack against Gigi’s. She even lets it linger there for a bit before separating and pulling away again. There we go. That’s more than enough; can’t ignore that.

30 seconds pass. Just as Ceci was beginning to doubt herself, she feels Gigi’s fingers wrap around hers, and she reciprocates. She doesn’t look at Gigi, but she smiles, letting their fingers interlock. Gigi’s hand is soft and warm, and her heart beats a mile a minute.

Alright. Okay. This was awesome. Now, to just not run into any of the other girls so they could keep this between themselves. Just this one moment. Please.

Gigi gives her hand a squeeze, and Cecilia squeezes back. They each smile to themselves, and the next time they apply more pressure, it’s in unison, and they grip each others’ hands tightly. Once they’ve nearly reached the block the dorm house is on, it seems like the right place to separate. And yet Gigi doesn’t let go. In fact, she holds on tighter.

‘If that’s what you want, Gigi…’

They reach a crosswalk and a stranger hits the button, and they wait for the little electronic noise to signal them, but it’s taking a while. Gigi leans her head against Ceci’s shoulder, and Cecilia rubs her thumb against the back of Gigi’s hand softly, stroking it rhythmically as they wait.

“Did you crank up the A/C before you left?” Gigi asks. “It was getting kinda cold in there.”

“Mm.. yeah, I think so. Why?”

Gigi hesitates, shifting on her feet a little. “It might be too cold in there. Maybe… do you wanna share a bed tonight?” Cecilia’s eyes widen for a second, and she nearly falters and reveals her wildly fluctuating emotions.

“You could just… turn it up, if you want. The bed’s not that big…”

Gigi’s finger twitches against hers.

“Or… I could just not do that.” She feels the tip of Gigi’s index finger rub against her own, and she responds equivalently.

“Yeah… that’s okay too.”

It wasn’t even close to midnight when they came back and turned in. Gigi went ahead and tossed her things onto her own double bed, including her backpack; the Ceci egg plushie still attached to it. After brushing their teeth together, Ceci stayed in the bathroom for a minute longer to take care of a couple things and when she emerged, she saw that Gigi had lifted her shirt up, reaching behind herself to unhook her bra.

Cecilia looked away for a moment, sitting on the edge of her bed. She reached behind herself to go do the same, wincing as her arm tensed up. She recalled hyperextending it earlier that day when she and Gigi had gone to a batting cage.

“Here, I got it.” Gigi’s fingers brushed hers out of the way and slowly unclipped it for her while she held her shirt up. When it was off, Gigi tossed it onto her bed along with the other things.

Lights were off now. It was a quiet and awkward moment when the two of them crawled under the covers together, and neither made contact. The space of the sheets in between them felt the same as an ocean, and in the darkness, Gigi stared at Cecilia’s hand as she lay fully submerged under the covers.

Ceci was on her back, head sunk into her own pillow, staring at the ceiling. There was an almost electrical impulse spurring her to turn her head; to extend her arm away from her side. To do anything other than just lay there on her back. She felt like a coward. She knew she’d have to do something, though. She wouldn’t leave Japan and return to her home with nothing of this to hold onto in her memories.

Meanwhile, Gigi shivered. It *was* cold in the room. They could’ve turned the A/C fans down a bit. Could’ve used the blanket from Gigi’s bed. They could’ve done a lot of things, but Gigi knew what kind of warmth she had been wishing for, deep down. And yet, she struggled with the same clash of emotions. They wrestled in Gigi’s mind as the hamster she imagined her brain to be was running tirelessly on its wheel.

Did she hold my hand because she just really likes me as a friend? Am I just crazy? Come to think of it, is there something wrong with me? She’s my colleague. Not to mention she’s got so many people who think she’s beautiful besides me. Surely Cecilia’s reality was the same, right? She must’ve had other people she found desirable. But her? She was just…

Ugh. She didn’t want to think about it. She was cute. Yeah. No, she knew she was cute. But did that matter? She was unhinged, she was loud, she was… god, she was a back and forth bouncy ball of ADHD and a whole lot of issues wrapped up into one little ball that many had slapped the label of “adorable” on, but what did that mean? Cute could mean a lot of things.

But Cecilia… she was stunning. She was sharp as a tack; she was incredibly talented, hilarious. She was cute as well. Good god, she was cute. It was funny to Gigi, because everything the fans would say about Ceci, it was a far deeper reality for her than anybody realized, and there were times she even lurked in Ceci’s stream before starting hers where her fingers twitched above the keyboard, before she caught herself and remembered who she was. It felt imprisoning at times.

Fuck. Well, maybe this was okay. Maybe she could just keep it this way. Cecilia was her best friend, there was no arguing that. Her feelings beyond that were a web of complication, and she knew what she wanted, and that was exactly what made it so much more complex and conflicting. She knew it. She knew when they’d first spent time together in the far east. When they’d first held hands walking down the sidewalk together back then. She’d done that with so many of her friends, but this had been different.

When Cecilia had taken her hand back then, she felt her heart race and it shook her. She found herself staring; looking at the cute way her mouth moved when she ate. Her lips. The dimple that formed when she pouted, pushing air into her cheeks. Gigi’s silly oral fixation aside, she found herself staring at every part of Cecilia, memorizing it unintentionally. She was perfect to her. She was a living dream, breathing and walking around. She was—

……..

She was brushing her hand against Gigi’s under the blanket. Gigi tentatively lowered the covers until they came down under her wide eyes, and she could see Cecilia’s face. Or her eyes, that was to say. Eyes that quickly broke contact and averted, line of sight moving somewhere far away. Oceans away.

Before she could even process what her own body was doing, Gigi had reached out and grabbed Cecilia’s hand before she had a chance to pull it away again. She curled her fingers around Cecilia’s palm, and when she felt Ceci’s own fingers clutch around hers, she squeezed even tighter. She wasn’t going to be letting go anytime soon.

Gigi felt silly for doubting it. It was happening right in front of her like it did before, and yet she still would find ways to delude herself into thinking there was no interest beyond friendship. Friends don’t do this. On paper they did, maybe. But under cover of darkness, in a room with two comfortable beds where they occupied only one by choice… in a quiet, safe intensity filled with intangible feelings…

This wasn’t something friends do.

Normal friends wouldn’t do this. They wouldn’t do as Gigi now did, shifting closer to Ceci, pushing her face flush against Cecilia’s upper arm as she aligned her body with Ceci’s, putting a thigh over Ceci’s leg.

Normal friends wouldn’t react as Cecilia did; a nervous but contented shudder to her breath as she turned herself over, pushing a leg further in between Gigi’s, sliding along the skin until she felt the top of her thigh press into that place, the kind of interaction kept tucked away in the shadows. This wasn’t just a friend.

Gigi inhaled sharply, pushing herself back down against Cecilia’s leg, bringing their clasped hands up to her lips as she pressed them against the back of Cecilia’s hand, letting it linger before softly and delicately pulling away, making sure there was the suction of an unmistakable kiss. Something Cecilia couldn’t ignore. She wanted her to know; this wasn’t just something physical. If quiet and careful intimacy between two people who had been secretly growing to love each other was an ocean, Gigi was strapping weights to her ankles and pulling Cecilia down with her into the abyss.

And as they felt the loving darkness of that intimacy close in around them, Cecilia pulled their hands out of the way just enough to push herself past that boundary and press her lips onto Gigi’s, and it made Gigi’s heart feel like it was exploding. She was caught between rapture and the practical, scared need to roll with the motions; to show Cecilia that she knew how to kiss.

And so she did, but she did so as she was free-falling with no parachute. She had no choice but to leak her own shaky breath into the kiss, and the only thing that was helping calm her was the rhythmic pressing and rubbing of Cecilia’s thigh against her groin.

Ceci breaks lip contact leaving a near-breathless Gigi, long enough to get words in before Gigi can lean into her for more.

“Are you okay with this?”

Gigi laughs out loud before placing her hands on Cecilia’s cheeks, the soft rub of her thumb grazing one of Ceci’s lower eyelashes. She can feel the burn of warm, blushed skin under her palms.

“I wanted this. Did you think I wanted to sleep in the same bed for no reason?”

Cecilia huffs a bit, embarrassed. “…No. I just wasn’t sure. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure about anything.” Gigi turns a hand over, stroking the back of her cheek softly before whispering.

“It’s okay, me too. I think we’re just stupid.” It’s Cecilia’s turn to giggle, and she gently takes hold of Gigi’s wrists as she does, leaning into her touch.

“We’re like two dense romcom anime protagonists.”

Gigi grins sheepishly, closing her eyes and lowering her gaze, tucking her chin into her chest as she responds. Cecilia can’t see her expression anymore, only her eyelashes and her button nose.

“So this is a romance then, huh?” Gigi asks quietly. The wording was meant to be like a joke, but there’s a certain weight behind it. Cecilia felt like she was holding glass suddenly. She moved forward again and pressed her lips to Gigi’s forehead, running a finger through her hair as she did so.

“It can be. I want it to be…”

The silence between them was only momentary, and Cecilia could hear Gigi’s breath. She could feel every little tremor and muscle quake in her body, and she could also feel what Gigi’s next words were going to be.

“I want it too…”

It somewhat seemed like Cecilia had Gigi in the palm of her hand, but rather than feeling like she was playing with someone or holding them up on strings, she felt like she was holding the most precious treasure in the entire world. Something she had found before anyone else, and now that she might be able to have her in the way she wished, she was scared.

There was a link forming between them. No, it had already been there. The string connecting their hearts was turning into something stronger, and the girl she held was someone she had such strong feelings for that she had to choose her words carefully. Suddenly, everything mattered so much more than anything ever had to her. She found herself frozen in the face of it.

So she said the one thing that was lingering on her mind, the one thing unsaid.

“Gigi…”

“Mm?”

She felt Gigi nod, waiting.

“I love you.”

Gigi scrunched her entire body up, taking Cecilia’s hand in hers and placing it against her chest, wrapping herself around it. Her breath nearly came out in tatters, in quiet little nervous exhalations. This was big. The enormity of it all was looming over her, and Gigi felt so small all of a sudden. She felt like the one thing keeping her composed was the contact between them, and so she held on tight, her fingers almost digging into Ceci’s hand and wrist.

“I love you too.”

Cecilia let her lips press into Gigi’s hair, kissing the top of her head as she wrapped herself around Gigi, pulling her in tighter. There were shakes, here and there. Was it the cold? No, no. They were quite warm at this point.

It was nerves.

And so Ceci held Gigi tightly, rubbing her back as she kissed her head again. She’d hold her for as long as it took. She knew this was the right thing to do because Gigi’s grip began to loosen; her breath slowly became steadier. She wanted nothing more than to be held by Cecilia like this. This was a little scary, but this was what she wanted. This was heaven, and it was real right now for her, for the first time in her life. Someone she loved; someone she was told indirectly that she shouldn’t love… loved her too.

And so it was ok.

So she slowly unfurled herself, bit by bit, letting more of her body uncurl itself and consequently become pressed against Cecilia’s body. She lifted her gaze and pressed her forehead to Ceci’s, wordlessly extending an arm through the gap between Ceci’s neck and the bed so that she could bend her elbow and reach the back of Cecilia’s hair, brushing her fingers through it. Her other arm came around Cecilia’s side. She ran a finger down Ceci’s waist and it found the edge of her panties, and she hesitated slightly. Hooking a finger underneath the lace-frilled edge, she almost brought herself to ask the question but Cecilia was already reaching down and helping her pull them down, tossing them off of the bed.

“It’s ok… you can touch me wherever you want.”

So Gigi did. Her fingers traced Ceci’s subtle curves softly and delicately, feeling her shiver in pleasure at the touch until she bit the bullet and finally ran her hand down Cecilia’s stomach, down below her pelvis, until she hit her mark. Cecilia moaned slightly as Gigi rubbed her slowly, and they met lips again as Gigi touched her.

The cold of the room was a forgotten entity now. Their bodies were heating up, and so was everything else. They began to get lost in the moment, and all nerves went out the window. Their tongues crashed together and they tasted the inside of each other’s mouths as Cecilia grabbed Gigi’s ass through her pajama shorts, gripping it tight while she grinded her hips into Gigi’s touch, matching her rhythm.

“Take them off…”

Gigi spoke into Ceci’s mouth and she nodded in response, grabbing the edge of both her shorts and her panties, tugging them down as Gigi helped her, kicking them off. Their shirts were next. They wanted nothing between them; they wanted to feel everything. Every inch, every curve and every crease of skin.

Gigi pushed a finger inside of Cecilia next, and Ceci gasped, grabbing Gigi’s wrist. Gigi didn’t need to ask if it was okay this time. She could feel that there weren’t really any limits here. They wanted each other; they wanted to feel each other, inside and out. Gigi pushed her finger in and out, feeling how wet Cecilia was with each push of her hand. It was almost too much, so she took her finger out and placed it on her tongue, tasting something she never had before. Cecilia’s breath became husky as she watched Gigi suck and lick her juices off of her finger.

“God, you’re so fucking sexy.”

Gigi smiled and nodded, kissing Cecilia again as she put her fingers back, adding another as she pushed them into Cecilia again. Ceci moaned loudly this time, grabbing her ass and holding onto it as she rode Gigi’s fingers.

“Does that feel good?” Gigi whined, as if she didn’t know the answer.

“Fuck, yes, Gigi. Oh my god…”

“Good…”

Cecilia stopped her eventually, pulling her fingers out and lowering herself, putting them into her mouth and tasting herself, sucking the last of it off of each digit, even admiring the smooth feeling of the gloss on Gigi’s fingernails as she did. She wanted them clean, she thought. And she wanted Gigi to feel her mouth; to know how good she could make it feel. And it was with this thought that she maneuvered herself in between Gigi’s legs, looking up at her for approval.

“Can I?”

Gigi nodded. Cecilia smiled, kissing the inside of her thigh.

“I want to hear you say it, though.”

Gigi put her hands in Cecilia’s hair before replying.

“I want it… I want your tongue in my pussy.”

Cecilia’s breath instantly grew heavier again. God, she loved the way Gigi matched her freak. Maybe even pushed her further. She wasn’t sure at this point. She wanted to be dirty with her; wanted her to know what she was capable of. So she dove in, pushing her tongue into Gigi, holding the outside of her thighs as she did. Gigi tasted so good, and her moans were sweeter still. The grip of Gigi’s fingers in her hair was tight, and the tugs she felt at her scalp only urged her on further.

“Does that feel good?” Now it was Ceci’s turn to be complimented.

“Y-yes… fuck. You’re so good at this.”

“Tell me I’m a good girl.”

“You’re a good girl… fuck. You’re… ahh…. Such a good girl…”

She lapped everything up with abandon, pushing herself until her jaw was aching. Gigi moaned loudly at this point. For a brief moment, Cecilia thought about the neighbors but gave up on it. This was their night. And she wanted Gigi to cum for her.

And she came… she moaned as she held Ceci’s hair, her hips bucking while she orgasmed, and Ceci didn’t let up, licking at her clit with a finger deep inside of her while she shook and spasmed.

It was messy and free, and when Gigi was done, gasping for breath as she lay, Cecilia rubbed her mouth on Gigi’s thigh before coming up to rest, putting a thigh in between hers. She draped her arm over Gigi’s waist, resting a hand on her ass as she kissed her again before resting her forehead against Gigi’s.

They lay there and let their breath steady together, with the occasional kiss as they rested, eyes closed. When Cecilia opened hers to look at Gigi and admire her face and the gleam of sweat on her body, Gigi felt it and unlidded her eyes too, her lashes heavy with a faint exhaustion; the aftermath of intense pleasure. They shared a bashful smile as they looked into each other’s eyes. The room was filled with a quiet haze of passion, and the silence was broken by the sound of a girl letting the one she loved, once again, know how she felt. And she knew Gigi understood it well.

“I love you…” Cecilia breathed, closing her eyes to kiss Gigi again.

“I love you too, Ceci…”

The two of them eventually drifted into a deep sleep, no gap between their bodies as they held each other close, with waking moments being kissed away by the other, urging them both back to sleep, with fingers interlocked as they soothed each other with gentle whispers and soothing affirmations.
