Beloved Light

Summary:

A new code woke up only to learn he had been abandoned by the one he was originally a part of, but the one he finds himself attached to is sweet and kind. His new host is willing to take him in and show him what it means to be cared for. To be loved.

Eclipse will do anything to protect his beloved light, and make sure his Sunshine smiles bright.

Notes:

Since this takes place before he moves to the primary dimension, Solar of course will be called Eclipse!

Chapter 1: Sunshine

Chapter Text

Eclipse couldn’t help but feel bad as he watched as Sun hid in his room. Through their shared wires he could feel how scared the other was from the sudden bodily takeover. He had only wanted answers. He only wanted to know why Moon had abandoned him. He didn’t know it would hurt Sun to do it.

Now the daycare attendant was hiding behind his bed, curled up in the corner while holding his dented faceplate. Eclipse hated how the lunar animatronic resorted to violence so quickly, but most of all how he did it towards his own brother. Yes, it had been Eclipse in control, but it was still Sun’s body. He needed to find some way to communicate. To apologise. He didn’t want to scare him though.

So for the moment he just waited inside the headspace, doing his best to at least try to send comforting pulses to his terrified host. It was all he could do while he tried to find out how to talk to him.

After a while the sudden call from Moon made the yellow animatronic flinch, causing Eclipse to pay attention to the outside world as the name was screamed again. “SUN! Where the fuck are you?!”

“i-In here!” Sun called back as he got up to leave the room.

Eclipse could feel panic start to rise up and tried to send danger signals to Sun. He didn’t care that the two were brothers, he could feel the fear coursing through the sunny animatronic and knew that it hadn’t been the first time the nighttime counterpart had hit him.

‘Stop! I don’t want him to hurt you again!’ He pleaded, knowing he likely wouldn’t be heard. He had to try anyway. He had to try!

The warm, reassuring pulse he got in return was a surprise as he heard his host softly whisper. “It’s fine. I won’t let Moon hurt you, and he’s probably going to fix my… our faceplate. We can talk later.”

He watched as Sun went to open the door, only for it to open roughly and nearly hit them. Moon was clearly angry as he grabbed the sunny model by the wrist and started to drag him out. “Come on, we’re going to parts and services. Maybe if we catch it early enough we can suppress that damn byproduct.”

Suppress? No, he didn’t want to be suppressed! No no no no no nonononononono!

“Moon stop! He’s terrified!”

“Of course it’s terrified! I’m not letting some possibly dangerous code leftover from us separating keep growing! It already tried to attack me!”

No, he didn’t attack! He only grabbed Moon because he wanted answers.

He watched as Sun struggled to pull his wrist away from the other daycare attendant, being unable to help from the headspace. It looked like they were heading towards the balcony above the ballpit.

“Moon stop! You’re hurting me! Let go!”

“No!” The lunar model yelled, pulling Sun closer to hold his shoulders instead. Through Sun’s eyes he could see so much anger, and fear. “We can’t trust that thing after what it did and you’re too stupid to realize that! It shouldn’t even exist!”

“He’s acting how you did when we first woke up, except he’s actually apologising to me! He deserves a chance!” Sun yelled back, struggling in his brother’s grip as he tried to get away until they were suddenly in freefall with Moon reaching down to try to catch them.

Eclipse could feel echoes of the pain as they landed wrong on the edge of the small fake grass platform near the wall. From a quick assessment he could tell that the solar model’s shoulder joint had been knocked further into the socket and was pinching against wires. With how his host was sobbing it must have been much worse for him.

It hurt less for him.

He had to do something and quick. Moon was on his way down, and if he took them to parts and services then he’d be suppressed or maybe even deleted. Sun was in no condition to be able to even fight back anymore if he tried.

‘Sun, let me take over so I can get us somewhere safe. I know how to repair the damage and you won’t feel the pain as much.’ Eclipse pleaded, gently reaching out for the switch. He was met with no resistance and the pain doubled as he was put in charge of the body.

With no hesitation, Eclipse got up and ran off, cradling the injured arm so the movement wouldn’t cause more damage as the other daycare attendant screamed after him. He didn’t know where he was going, but that meant that Moon wouldn’t know where he would go either. All he needed to do was find someone, anyone, who would be able to shelter them and maybe help him get some tools.

From what he knew, Montgomery wouldn’t be safe. That british gator was too close to Moon and would likely drag them back. At that point of the day most technicians would also be out. Would the glamrocks help? Once he figured they weren’t being followed he slowed down enough to stop and look around for a plexmap. From what he could tell, they were near the front entrance, near the utility tunnels.

“Sun, who do you know that we can go to that will help? And would you be able to give me directions to them?”

‘I think Freddy might? But he would be at home by now. If we hide in his greenroom at Rockstar Row I’m sure we could call him and ask him to bring us some tools…’

That would have to work. He had all of Sun’s contacts so it would be easy to call the bear once they were safe and hidden. For the moment though he made sure to follow the directions he was given to Rockstar Row. It was empty, with all of the glamrocks being able to afford homes. The decorated rooms just stood empty during the nights and used for show during the days.

Eclipse made his way into Freddy’s room and sat on the floor between the couch and the arcade machine, just to be sure no one would easily be able to notice them if they passed by. He didn’t need Moon cornering them where they couldn’t escape. Once he was settled and had their arm properly supported so it would cause as little pain as possible he texted Freddy, letting him know where they were, what tools he needed, and to not let Moon or Monty know. The response sent back let him know that they would be there for about an hour and that he would be allowed to charge while there if needed.

Finally, they could rest.

‘I’m sorry I didn’t ask you this earlier, but who are you?’ Sun’s voice asked quietly in their head. He was still clearly nervous, but willing to give him a chance, which he appreciated.

“I’m not really sure, but I’ve been calling myself Eclipse. From what I understand, I’m a code Moon left in you on purpose, which is why he would want me gone so badly… I’m sorry for taking your body earlier. I just wanted to know what was going on, and it just happened. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

‘It must have been so scary for you… Waking up suddenly and not being able to do anything.’

“It was terrifying… I woke up, and thought I was still him. When I saw him and heard him speak through you I just felt so much anger. He abandoned me, and now he wants to kill me.”

‘I won’t let him do that. I’ll talk with him after we’re fixed up, and then we can get to know each other. You seem really nice, Eclipse.’

He smiled and leaned back with a wince. He just hoped Freddy wouldn’t take too long. He would need help to even pull the joint out of its new resting place, and even then there would be the chance that they would have to replace the wires if they were damaged enough. At least with someone else there it wouldn’t be dangerous to go to parts and services.

At least Sun wasn’t feeling as much of the pain. He knew that there was pain whenever someone took control of the solar model’s body, but at the moment it was clearly far less than what he was feeling. The less he moved, the less it would hurt them both. Perhaps he would put it on the list of things to fix while he fixed their arm. He didn’t want Sun to be in pain if he ever had to take over to keep him safe.

Eclipse could feel a concerned pulse come from Sun so he focused back on him. “Are you alright?”

‘I’m fine, I’m just worried about Moon. He was really angry, and I’m worried he might do something when we get back…’

“Does he hurt you a lot?” The worry he felt grew at the thought.

‘Not really. I mean, there was that one time right after we separated when he wanted to show me that he made us mostly waterproof by shoving my head underwater. B-b-but I deserved it because before that I accidentally scared him while he was drinking some oil a-a-a-and it spilled all over him!’

That was far from good reasoning to practically drown someone!

‘O-o-o-o-or that one time- there was a time where I interrupted his work and he threw a wrench at me!’

“That’s not good, Sun. Even if he says there’s a reason, he shouldn’t hurt you. It’s not right. Have you told any of the others?”

The silence and feeling of guilt told him the answer. From what he knew, Sun wasn’t the type to get others in trouble if he could help it. He was naive and hopeful, even when others hurt him. Eclipse would have to help fix that. If they knew he was under protection, they wouldn’t hurt him as much.

For the moment though, he was tired. It was strange having a body, and he wasn’t used to being fully in control. It took more energy than he realized, even if their battery wasn’t going down any faster. Maybe it was because it was late and Sun had been up since early morning? They did need to power down from time to time even if their charge lasted a week. From what he could see on their HUD they still had at least another day.

‘Do you think it would be safe to take a nap while charging? I can feel how tired you are.’ Sun said softly.

“I don’t know… Do you think Moon is still looking for us?”

‘I don’t think so? By now he’ll usually just wait for me to come back on my own since I need him to help me all the time.’

Eclipse didn’t know if he could fully trust that, but it would be a good idea to charge just in case they wouldn’t get a chance later. He didn’t know what Moon had planned for him, but he knew that if he were the lunar model he would wait until they were out of power or charging while asleep to grab them.

“Alright, I’ll go charge. Be ready, I’m about to move.” He made sure to warn his host so that the pain didn’t surprise him. It was a struggle to get up with only one arm without moving the damaged one too much, and the pain made his head swim and caused his footing to not be as steady as he would like it to be.

Eclipse made sure to use their good arm to keep the body steady against the wall as he made his way towards the back room and the charging station. It was different from the basic cables the daycare attendant models got, and he hated the idea of being confined to a small metal tube while resting, but it would be able to charge them faster than the cables.

When the charging station activated, he couldn’t help but lean against the side of it. His optics felt heavy and he couldn’t fight off how tired he felt. Inside their head, Sun quietly encouraged him to rest. It was tempting enough, and someone knew they were supposed to be there in case anything happened, so he relented and did his best to relax into sleep.
