Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack Sparrow, excuse you, wasn't someone who would openly show much of his true emotions. Because having your cards open on the table for everyone to see didn't get you far. And could even mean death in most scenarios. But he was in Davy Jones Locker, who could judge him here? Nobody! As far as he could see there was nothing besides a dried out space of rocks and sand and an ever shining hot sun. The only person who can judge him was himself and every damn hallucination of him there was. Speaking of himself, he was quite done with the chaos around the deck and decided he needed a change of scenery.
After dealing with the copies of himself, he took a rope and lowered himself down from his beloved Pearl. Though his descent down wasn't exactly soft, he had it worse! The next few minutes or even hours, he walked around the Pearl in search of anything out of place or even slightly useful. Maybe there was a bottle of rum hidden around his beloved ship? No scratch that, he already looked in every cravis once, there wouldn't be even one bottle. As he rounded up the Pearl he found himself back at the front. For a moment he just looked at her, a bit annoyed or even frustrated, before he noticed a rope. Without hesitation he pulled lightly at it before watching it move downwards, pooling at his feet before it stopped. He slightly tugged at it but it seemed rather secure, so he pulled harder to bring it to the test. But it still didn't move. Still holding onto the rope, he walked backwards, sliding the rope through his fingers till he had a rather nice distance where he might be able to get enough momentum. After another glance at his beloved, he turned around and started to tug as hard as he could, leaning forward to try and move the Ship by himself. He knew it wasn't his brightest idea, but he would still try! After all, it was still better to start talking with his doubles again, or worse, seeing ghosts of the ones who secretly haunted him. Like Beckett. He shudders just thinking about the man.
He didn't know for how long he kept up his act, he tugged, pulled and moved his feet along, trying to get her to move along but she wouldn't, couldn't budge even one millimeter. Still he wouldn't give up, he gritted his teeth, moved more, turned and twisted even his body to bring her along. He cursed under his breath, but no matter what, she kept being stuck on that caused place. Jack didn't even notice the crab watching him, he still struggled. But it didn't take much longer and he was out of breath, still leaning forward a weird feeling overcame him and for a moment he stood completely still. His eyes moved to the side as the feeling of being watched overcame the Captain. But before he could acknowledge the stone crab, or whatever it was he just fell backwards. With a loud thud he fell unconscious.
As he came back to himself, he noted that he was lying on the ground. The ground beneath him was hotut he couldn't really bring himself to open his eyes, or move. His breathing was slow and steady, and he didn't know for how long he was out cold. But as a shadow passed his face he couldn't help but open his again, slightly grateful for the shade, even though it moved away from him. Wait it moved?! He sat himself up in disbelief before springing back onto his feet. For a moment he couldn't help but just watch his beloved Black Pearl move. Confused, he watched her go, passing him at a steady pace. As he looked up, even as his Pearl had now passed him fully, he couldn't exactly explain what was happening. It took him a second before he realised that his Ship was moving on without him, and instantly he turned around and rushed after her.
Running after her wasn't an easy Task and he was glad as he was able to slowly catch up. It took longer than he would have liked to find another rope to climb back on board. But he had managed it, climbing over the Railing and flopping onto the deck like a fish caught in a net. He took several deep breaths before he moved again. As he stood back up, he watched as the mountains in the distance slowly changed. The relief he felt was also shown on his Face. At least before he got serious again. He swallowed and moved around the Ship again. One would call it pacing, but as no one was here to call him out on it, he was free to do as he pleased. What he would do for a bottle of rum tho, he smiled sarcastically. Well no time to sulk, he thought as he moved to the Foremast. He knew he could easily climb the Mainmast to look at the horizon but he needed an undisturbed view.
Jack didn't know for how long he just stood up there, holding onto the Pearl while taking in the view. Which wasn't much for a while, but the breeze was nice. It wasn't as hot as before and he was able to enjoy himself for this moment alone. Soon enough he was able to see a change, it was just a slight shift of the ground, a change of the air around him. He could smell the Sea, see Sand Dunes before his eyes and he just knew that the Pearl would soon be back where she belonged. He couldn't help but smile at that thought. Being back to sail around again. Together with her, his beloved Black Pearl.
As they moved over one of the Dunes, as if she was winning over a spectacular wave his smile faltered. In the distance he could see familiar silhouettes. He looked away from them, as the sight of the Sea was one he welcomed more. The Pearl rode the Dune down, moving gracefully before hitting the water. Jack sighs in relief and even the Pearl seemed to be happy, as the wood started to creak under his boots. He turned his Head back to the beach. Before gracefully climbing down. He whispered to the Pearl, soothing words, whispered promises, mostly for himself as he got a boat ready to leave. Rowing back to the Beach to see the demons who were probably here to mock good old Jack.
As he moved through the water, he told himself these were just hallucinations again. Not the real people who had betrayed him one way or another. No he would just entertain himself for a moment, get the illusions off his back so he could peacefully retreat to his beloved Pearl, Maybe look for a way out of this Mess. As he drew near the Beach, he stood back up and jumped off the boat as it came to a stop. He carefully pulled back his mask of confidence as he made his way to the people who left him for dead. Not that he was extremely disappointed about that he might, no he probably would have done the same.
“Mr. Gibbs” he called out as the others came rushing towards him with various shouts. Without giving them much time to talk for themself or even answer, Jack kept talking to the other. “I expect you're able to account for your actions then?” The older man looked a bit confused “Sir?” He asked, but Jack kept talking “There's been a perpetual lack of discipline upon my Vessel, why? Why is that Sir?” Jack kept his authority high as Gibbs answered in a whisper, as if he didn't want to speak too loud. “Sir you're in Davy Jones Locker”
For a moment Jack looked perplexed, thinking for a moment he just answered with a simple “I know that. I know where I am and don't think I don't!”. But before he could go on with how much he knew and how little these Hallucinations should underestimate him, another voice cut in. A voice he knew too well, one he had missed but dreaded as well. “Jack Sparrow”. Jack turned around, plastering a smile to his Face. He was slightly surprised to see Barbossa again, as he had wondered why he didn't bother to show himself sooner. Jack had to be in the Locker for quite a time after all. “Ah Hector, it's been too long” he greeted as he walked up to him. “Aye” the other agreed “Isla de Muerta, remember you shot me” Jack kept his smile for a moment longer, thinking before looking at Barbossa again, with a small “Pardon” he moved on, not wanting to remember much of that night. He was in luck though as he spotted the next person and quickly moved on, greeting her with his regular play of glee.
“Tia Dalma!" Now that was a surprise on its own, not that he couldn't hallucinate living people. “Out and about aye? You had an agreeable sense of macabre to any delirium” to which she just smiled. “He thinks we're just Hallucinations” Will said besides her, looking at Jack as he lost it. Which brought the Captain's attention to him “ William tell me, have you come because you need my help to save a certain distressing damsel, no no rather damsel in distress, another one?” They kept eye contact as Will answered with a “No”. “So you can't be here” Jack said as he moved his hands just centimetres away from Will's face “QED you're not really here!”
As he stared the Hallucination down, as he couldn't exactly pinpoint why William would be here, another Voice called his Name. He turned his Head to see Elizabeth walking towards them, pushing through men that were unknown to him. “This is real, we're here” she said. Jack just looked at her dumbfounded, he pointed a finger upwards as he opened and closed his mouth, but as no sound left it, he just turned around and hurried back to Mr.Gibbs. “The Locker you say” he said as he leaned in close. “Aye” came the answer. Jack breathed in and slowly out. He knew he was in the Locker, how could he even forget? But that still didn't make sense why they could be here. Oh no these were probably still Hallucinations, these men he couldn't recognise were still a trick of his own imagination. He had a rather big one after all. How would you say he got these brilliant ideas otherwise?
“We've come to rescue you!” Elizabeth said as she had followed Jack, who quickly turned around. “Have you now, very kind of you” he said as he stalked up to her. “But it would seem that as I possess a Ship and you don't, you're the ones in need of rescuing” he said as he pointed to himself before leaning into her personal space. The thought of them being just Hallucinations, trying to get under his skin was a thought he rather not entertain much longer, rescuing him? He would laugh if he could. “And I'm not sure if I'm in the mood” he then spat out. He was in this alone, and he could already tell that more wouldn't be any help. Not even copies of himself had helped.
“I see my ship” ,declared Barbossa, who was standing right besides Elizabeth “right there” he added as he pointed to the Pearl. Jack moved around the group as he followed to where Barbossa had pointed his finger. But he just saw his beloved Black Pearl, even as he brought his Hand up to shield his eyes from the bright sky he couldn't notice any other vessel. “Can't spot it, must be a tiny little thing hiding behind the Pearl” he said, but he knew fully that there wasn't anything else. He grit his teeth as he knew that Barbossa probably still claimed his beloved Ship as his own. “Aye the Pearl” he heard Barbossa mutter, to which Jack spun himself around and stalked up to him. “You have mutinied against me, marooned me on an Island to die. That was the only claim you had on my beloved Ship!” he said, fury burning deep inside him as he pinned Barbossa with a stare. “I gave my life for her, twice! You don't even know what she had been through, what horrors we saw. Who we have beaten in battle. You might have had her for ten years but she was never truly yours, so don't you dare to keep the claim on my beloved Black Pearl!” he almost shouted as he turned back around, walking away from Barbossa and all the other Hallucinations.
Angry as he was, he started to talk to himself again. Walking towards the boat so he could return to his Vessel. He muttered about his past, unaware of the Horror that was shown on the other Faces as they watched Jack walk away. William was the first to recover from his shock of Jack's outburst and walked after the angry Captain “Jack!” he called before he reached the Pirate “Cutler Beckett has the Heart of Davy Jones” he said, which brought Jack to instantly stop his movements. His eyes wide for a moment before he grabbed at his Arm, where the branded P was sitting upon his skin. “He controls the flying Dutchman” William continued before Elizabeth had walked up to them and started to speak as well “He’s taken over the Sea’s” she exclaimed as even more people came up to them.
Tia Dalma was next to speak “They have already sung the song”, she said “the Brethren Court is called” she finished as she held eye contact with Jack. Of course, he thought before he voiced his thoughts aloud “I leave you alone for one minute and look what happens. Everything is going to pot!” He said before he started to walk again. Of course if they were real they would only try to rescue him because they needed him. Why would anyone miss him, he was a piece of shit in their eyes after all. He laughed slightly before he shook his head, no need to entertain them any longer, he tried to walk away again. But again someone spoke up, stopping him in his tracks. “Jack the world needs you back.” Mr. Gibbs tells him. He stopped again.
"Oh, really?" he asked sarcastically, “The world needs me? They need Captain Jack Sparrow? Good that I'm needed when I don't want to help” he spoke, still with his back turned to them.
“The World has taken more of mine that I could ever give, why should I be needed back? The world can shove it for once and let me rest in peace with my beloved Pearl” he answered as he looked over his shoulder,
his lips now tightly sealed as his true emotions showed themselves.
“You need a Crew” Will proclaimed as Jack spun around to face them again.
“Why should I sail with any of you? Four of you have tried to kill me in the past! One of you succeeded”
He watched them intensely, seeing how Will turned to Elizabeth, while she just gaped at him. Oh that was about to be interesting, though he wasn't so sure about them being Hallucinations anymore. He grinned slightly as he moved slowly back to them “Oh, she had not told you. You'll have loads to talk about while you're here~” But they had a point with him needing a crew. Slowly he moved to Tia Dalma. “As for you” he said as he directed his attention to her, she smiled “Now, don't tell me you didn't enjoy our time~” she grinned to which Jack couldn't help but chuckle. If he was honest he always liked her, she was fun to be around and brought interesting adventures whenever he visited. “Fair enough, you're in” he smiled back before he walked to the next person. Giving each a reason why he wouldn't or wouldn't like them aboard. As all was in order and orders were given he checked on his compass again. Which was wildly spinning around. He closed it again before he was once again called by Barbossa, who just held onto the probably only card who could help them out of this Mess. “Where are you going Jack?” he asked with a sly grin while his Monkey just screeched at him. “Damn immortal Monkey” Jack cursed under his breath as he clicked his tongue in annoyance and signaled them to follow.
