The end of all things was death. This allowed the God of Death to reach out to other beings when their time was near.
He watched the three bastards fight for their lives on Earth 1. Each of them had something special.
The thing about endings is that they can also mark a new beginning.
‘This bastard was misplaced. This bastard is a single-lifer. This bastard will be reborn.’
A mistake to fix, a potential employee, and the occasional difficult project to deal with at work.
‘Damn, what a great deal! Three for one!’ Logistics who? Conscience? Can you eat it?
They didn't die, but damn if the Soos didn't think they did at first.
One minute they were fighting a monster, the next they were lying in an alley, unharmed and looking years younger. Next to them was a gold coin and a note that said: this will cover your travel expenses :3
Kim Rok Soo took the coin and the first thing out of his mouth was:
“Fucking cheapskate.”
Even if the gold coin was enough to cover the expenses, kidnapping people was a crime. Thank you. Where was the compensation for emotional harm?
The God of Death would totally pay for this stunt one day, but today was not that day.
“Everyone alive?” Asks Choi Jung Soo, who looks to be in his twenties.
“Yeah.” Lee Soo Hyuk replies.
The Team leader was still the oldest at first glance, but the difference between him and them didn't seem as big as before; he looked younger than when Kim Rok Soo had met him during the apocalypse, and his hyung was around twenty-five at that time.
They have too many questions and no answers, but they are all alive and safe. So they take it.
They go to an inn, rent a room, and go to the restaurant area to fill their stomachs.
They are obviously not in Korea.
Eventually they discover that they are in a place called Rain City. Which sounds familiar for some reason, but what makes Jung Soo and Rok Soo share a look of realization is the chatter and gossip of the other guests in the restaurant.
Someone says the surname ‘Henituse’ and everything falls into place.
“... ha. What a fucking cliché.”
“An Isekai.” Choi Jung Soo mutters. “A fucking isekai?”
After the initial reaction, the weight of the plot of the novel they both read hits them.
‘Shit, there's going to be a war!’
In their haste to figure out the current timeline and plan for the future, Rok Soo and Jung Soo make a mistake.
They leave their hyung in the inn room. Alone.
Of course, Lee Soo Hyuk manages to find trouble within a few hours.
Or rather, he beds trouble.
“You slept with Cale Henituse?!” Kim Rok Soo says in utter mortification the next day, while Choi Jung Soo starts laughing hysterically.
“Well, I was definitely in his bed…”
“No.” Rok Soo doesn't want to hear it. Once it is verbalized, he would literally not be able to forget it. “Stop talking.”
Just what they needed! It didn't matter that Cale was trash, he was still the firstborn son of the lord of the city they were in.
There was no way they were going to leave them alone after this.
“How did that happen?”
Soo Hyuk snorted.
“When two men drink too much–”
“I told you to shut up.” He really, really didn't want to hear about Lee Soo Hyuk's isekai hook up. “Besides, you don't get drunk.”
The realization then hit Kim Rok Soo:
“And neither does he!”
Lee Soo Hyuk started to frown.
“Rok Soo, what are you guys hiding?” He asked. “I let it go earlier, but you two clearly know what’s going on around here.”
“We were going to tell you this morning,” Jung Soo chimed in, “but you dropped a bomb on us, hyung.”
Before the conversation could go any further, the door to the room burst open, startling two of the three men.
“Hey, are you ready?”
Lee Soo Hyuk smiled apologetically at the person who had just entered the room.
“Not yet, sorry. My dongsaeng didn't take the news well.”
The hood of the cloak the intruder was wearing came down, revealing striking red hair.
“Can’t say I blame him, but we need to get going. Ron is hot on my tail.”
“We can’t have that,” Soo Hyuk agreed, “Mr. Butler looked like he wanted to kill me earlier.”
Cale Henituse, the cloaked figure, snorted.
“Ron is a professional assassin, so believe me, he can do it.”
The Team Leader whistled, but his entire demeanor was one of amusement.
“... huh? What’s going on?!” Jung Soo was the first to recover from his shock. “Hyung, where are we going?”
The answer shattered their sense of reality:
“We’re eloping.”
“What.”
“Your hyung and I,” Cale repeated, clearly entertained by the other’s confusion, “we’re eloping!”
