Work Text:
Though he had agreed to the arrangement, had understood what he was agreeing to when the deal had been struck, some part of him had still believed that the day would never come… That the Wolf Lord wouldn't actually be able to uphold his end of the deal, and therefore Orochimaru wouldn't be forced to uphold his own.
When the Wolf Lord had offered the aid of his clan to the village in exchange for the hand of their most beautiful villager, Orochimaru hadn't thought himself among those their would-be savior would have to choose from.
Unfortunately, Sakumo Hatake had made up his mind on what he wanted long before he'd ever made his demands known.
While the realization that he had become nothing more than a war prize for the savage Wolf Lord of the north had hurt his ego, Orochimaru understood that logically his life was an acceptable trade for the end of the war his people had been fighting since long before he was born.
With no family to mourn him and few friends to miss him, it was easy for the village elders to accept the request.
A month passed between when the Wolf Lord had come to offer his aid and when he returned, dropping the heads of their enemies at Orochimaru and the village elders' feet.
The war they had been fighting for over two decades was over at last, and now it was time for them to pay the price for their victory.
A week later and Orochimaru was being dressed and prepared for his wedding.
Wearing his late mother's wedding kimono, Orochimaru looked himself over in the mirror, he looked so much like her… it was unfortunate that he was donning her fineries under such circumstances.
He’d always hoped that the day he finally got to wear these clothes would be a happy one, a day where he would stand beside the man he loved, one he had chosen to love and bind his life to… till death do them part.
It had hurt more than he ever knew it could to leave the boy he had always hoped would grow into the man he would one day marry behind to be bound to another in his place, but still… Orochimaru did his duty and held up his end of the bargain, leaving his home, his friends… his beloved.
Orochimaru held back the tears that burned behind his eyes, now was not the time to cry.
Looking himself over, Orochimaru couldn't help but feel small, though the attendants who had helped him dress and prepare had done their best to pin and alter the kimono to fit him more properly, it was still obvious it had been made to fit an adult.
But even with all their alterations and the makeup designed to make him look older, Orochimaru still felt like a child playing dress up, and not like a bride-to-be on their wedding day.
The ceremony came and went in a blur, Orochimaru could only be glad that he'd not needed to do much throughout, only following directions and answering questions as they were asked, keeping his head down low and only ever speaking when spoken to.
His new husband seemed to enjoy both the ceremony and the party afterward, indulging in food and drink as Orochimaru sat at his side, watching the man laugh and chat with everyone who came to congratulate the new couple.
At least one of them could enjoy the festivities, it would be a shame for it to have all gone to waste otherwise.
Eventually the celebration began to wind down and Orochimaru was taken back to a room within the clan estate, a beautifully decorated bedroom, where the traditional outer layers of his kimono and accessories were removed, leaving him in only the innermost layer of his clothing, his hair hanging loosely over his shoulders as he sat and waited for what would come next.
Orochimaru knew that there was one final part of the wedding ceremony that still needed to happen.
Consummation of the marriage.
This was the part that had terrified him the most, Orochimaru had never so much as kissed another person, now he would have to give the most sacred parts of his body over to a man he didn't know, a man double his age and with far more experience than he could ever hope to have.
After what felt like hours, but was probably only a few minutes, the door to the bed chambers opened, letting in the tall, silver haired man that was now his husband.
Orochimaru could feel his heart beating in his chest as the man came to stand in front of him, looking down at him as if he wanted to eat him alive.
“Are you afraid?”
Orochimaru had spent his entire life fighting a seemingly unwinnable war, had stared down armies and survived unimaginable odds, fear was not something he felt often.
But, at that moment… “Yes, my lord.” he'd considered lying, but something in those steely, silver eyes told him it would be pointless to try.
That Sakumo Hatake, the Wolf Lord would see through his words as if they were made of glass.
Sakumo smiled as he collapsed into the sitting area in front of Orochimaru, “Good, that means you're smart.” he said, taking a swig from the sake bottle clutched in his hand, “Only fools are blindly brave, and I'd hate to find out that I had married a fool.”
Orochimaru wanted to scowl at the older man, of course he was no fool! Did this man know nothing of him before choosing to take him from his home? Was it truly only his physical appearance that had the man choosing to take him as his bride!?
Just as Orochimaru went to speak up and berate the man lazing in front of him, Sakumo smiled again, “So, my lovely little bride, tell me about yourself.” He said, eyeing him up and down, “For Sarutobi to consider you his most prized student, I must assume you to be more than just a pretty face.”
Biting down a scathing comment, Orochimaru closed his eyes and took a deep breath before answering the question, “My name is Orochimaru, I'm fifteen years old, a skilled swordsman and poison maker, I have a unique connection to snakes and I don't suffer the pointless prattling of idiots.” he said, keeping his tone as neutral as possible as he spoke.
“Fifteen. That's good, means you're old enough for us to consummate the marriage, I was worried I may have to wait a year or two before doing so.” The small, bitter and terrified part of Orochimaru wondered if he really meant that, if he would have waited had Orochimaru been any younger.
Pushing those feelings aside, Orochimaru once again med his husband’s eye, “And what of you? All I know so far is that you are an expert at killing.” That wasn’t the entire truth, he knew that he was this man’s second bride, that he’d been married previously and that he had a young son. He'd heard a few of the attendants talking outside his room before they came to assist him in dressing for the ceremony.
“What else would you like to know?” he asked, putting his drink down and sitting up properly, as if to give the illusion of Orochimaru having his full attention– from the tenting on the men's hakama pants, he could guess what truly where the Wolf Lord’s attention was truly set.
Orochimaru considered the question for a moment, what information would be most beneficial for him to know in his position, he had to use this moment carefully, unsure if such an occasion to question this man would ever come again. Eventually swallowing down his unease, Orochimaru finally asked the question that had been plaguing his mind since that first meeting just over a month ago, “Why did you choose me?”
In response, Sakumo just laughed, “What a ridiculous question!” Orochimaru once again clenched his fists and bit his tongue to hold back the many threats and insults building in the back of his throat, he didn’t yet know enough about this man, he had to keep his emotions in check until he better knew the other man and how he would react to Orochimaru’s typical way of speaking his mind.
“I chose you because I knew you were important to Sarutobi, and because I thought you’d be pretty to look at, I thought that I had made that obvious during negotiations.” He eventually got out through his laughter, “Perhaps you’re not quite as smart as I had originally given you credit for.”
At that, Orochimaru let out a hiss, feeling his anger rising even higher, “I also don’t take well to insults, my lord.” Orochimaru was able to grit out behind clenched teeth.
Raising his hands in mock surrender, Sakumo eventually brought his laughter under control, “Alright, alright my dear, I’m sorry for teasing, you want a more serious reason for my actions, then you shall have it, Power.” his tone suddenly shifted, “The war couldn't go on much longer and the rest of the lords of this nation refused to allow those savages to win, Sarutobi is a much more agreeable and reasonable man to bargain with, But one does not show their hand in warfare without making sure they have all the winning cards, incase my read on him had been wrong, I had to make sure I had something in my possession that would dissuade him from ever risking a war with my people in the future, and you just so happened to fit that criteria, that face that your are very pleasing on the eyes just made the request all the sweeter.”
That, Orochimaru could understand, any man capable of what he’d shown himself to be able to do would certainly need a way to keep those wary of his skills in bloodshed and warfare from ever turning on him. “So I’m basically just your political hostage to keep my people from attacking you and possibly even being able to call on them for aid should anyone else ever try to do your people harm.”
“All that, and my prize for a job well done.” the man said with a smile as he retrieved his drink and took a long sip, “Now, if you don’t have any actual questions, I think it’s high time I finally got to enjoy my new bride.”
Before Orochimaru could say another word, Sakumo had closed the distance between them, pressing him down to the floor and allowing his hands to wander as his mouth made contact with Orochimaru’s neck where his oversized kimono had fallen open, Sakumo’s tongue was warm as it mapped out a path along his pale, exposed skin, his hands were the same, easily untying the sash around his waist and quickly making themselves at home on his hips before Pulling Orochimaru’s lower half up to rut against.
Feeling Sakumo’s hard length pressed up against him, Orochimaru was once again filled with dread, the man’s cock felt huge… Orochimaru had no clue how that would fit inside him without hurting.
Sakumo didn't seem to have the same worries, as he quickly began shedding his own clothes, before resuming his mission to explore every inch of skin available to him.
When a large hand finally found its way between his legs, Orochimaru had to fight to suppress the urge to shove the other man off of him.
They are married now, and he was Sakumo's bride… his property. It was his right to touch him as he pleased.
The ache as his husband's fingers penetrated his body burned more than any injury he sustained during the war, though he tried to focus on relaxing his muscles, the pain continued to persist, and only grew worse with new intrusion.
Though it felt like an age, Sakumo’s fingers withdrew from Orochimaru’s body quickly after each of them had finally been inserted, while he didn’t know much about sex, Oorochimaru knew that the preparation had not been enough, how could it be when the man intended to press something so huge into him.
Even if this were not his first time, it wouldn’t have been enough.
Sitting back on his hunches, Sakumo grabbed Orochimaru by the waist as flipped him onto his front before grabbing the base of his kimono and shoving it up his back and pressing down between his shoulders, forcing him into position before returning his hands to his hips and resettling above him.
In this position, Orochimaru could do nothing, he was trapped between the hard floor below him and his husband above.
When Sakumo pressed his cock up against his entrance, Orochimaru buried his face into the folds of his kimono sleeves to hide the tears he could feel building up behind his eyes and biting down on his wrist to stop himself from screaming as he finally pushed in.
As Orochimaru had predicted, the pain of penetration was unlike any other, Sakumo had not been gentle with his thrust, forcing the entirety of his length inside of Orochimaru in one go, he was certain something must have torn, that his body would never be the same after this… And knowing that Sakumo was free to do this whenever he wanted going forwards.
In that moment, Orochimaru regretted agreeing to the Wolf Lord’s demands when he offered to end the war in his village.
Orochimaru would have rather fought a thousand more battles than suffer this fate again.
Unfortunately there was no going back, no changing his mind, no undoing what had already been done… This was his fate, the one he agreed to, and he’d just have to find a way to live with that.
Only taking a moment to adjust to the tightness around his cock, Sakumo quickly began a rough, brutal pase, thrusting in and out of Orochimaru, uncaring for the way his body ached and burned, all he seemed focused on was his pleasure, seeking and dragging it out for maximum enjoyment as Orochimaru continued to silently cry.
When Sakumo finally found release, he grabbed onto Orochimaru’s hair and tugged his head back, baring his neck to the man behind him, Orochimaru couldn’t have suppressed the scream that erupted from his throat as sharp teeth made themselves at home in his flesh, blood poured into the Wolf Lords mouth and he worked himself through his orgasam, sinking his teeth deeper into Orochimaru’s neck as he filled him with his release.
Orochimaru didn’t know how much time passed between Sakumo’s release and when he finally pulled away from Orochimaru’s broken, bleeding body, barely holding onto consciousness, Orochimaru felt Sakumo adjust their positions until his was resting atop the man’s chest as he laid back among the pillows he’d been seated on before.
His kimono was readjusted to once again cover him before Sakumo placed one hand on the small of his back in what Orochimaru presumed was meant to be a comforting manner, the other once again reaching for the bottle of sake.
“That was fine for your first time,” he said before taking a long drink from the bottle in his hand, “But going forward, I will expect you to act in a reciprocal manner.”
Biting his lip, Orochimaru considered how to respond, “And if I don’t know how to..?” he asked, voice coming out far weaker than he would have liked.
“You need not worry about that, my beautiful bride, I am an excellent teacher, and you will be a fast learner I'm sure.” Sakumo spoke with such conviction, Orochimaru felt compelled to believe him.
The room fell silent after that, and Orochimaru was forced to finally focus on the warm liquid leaking out from between his legs, his body still ached, but he had experience with dealing with pain, even if this were a new type of pain, he handled it all the same, Orochimaru just hoped his legs would still be able to support his weight when he was eventually allowed to go clean himself up.
Orochimaru wondered if Sakumo intended to spend the night in this room with him, or if he would eventually return to his own quarters at some point, he just hoped he got the answer before he finally lost the battle he was still fighting with consciousness, unfortunately, he could already feel himself failing, each time he blinked, it became harder and harder to reopen his eyes.
At some point, he must have finally lost the fight, as when next his eyes opened, he was on a bed, tucked comfortable beneath a large blanket, slipping one of his hands down between his legs, he found himself to be clean– the bitmark on his neck had also been cleaned and properly dressed.
Orochimaru wondered if his husband had been the one to do those things, or if he’d called for an attendant to see to his needs when he departed, he didn’t know which theory he preferred…
His body still ached as he moved to stand, but not nearly as much as it had the night before, he wondered how long he would have before he was once again called on to perform his marital responsibilities, how much time he would be given between each session to heal, if he would ever come to enjoy the act… Orochimaru doubted it, but it was still something to wonder about.
Better it than the pain.
A fresh kimono had been laid out for him, a far simpler one that his mothers one he’d worn the day prior, though still beautiful– befitting the bride of a lord, though still simple enough that he could put it on without needing aid, something he was immensely grateful for.
Without anything else to do, once he was dressed, Orochimaru slowly made his way over to the doors leading out to the garden, deciding he would sit outside and enjoy the morning sun while he still could.
A lord's wife would have many duties, he doubted he would have many mornings like this in the future, so he hoped to enjoy what he could of this one before finally immersing himself into his new life once and for all.
