For a man who hated cameras, Roronoa Zoro was remarkably photogenic.
Every red carpet, every action shot, every selfie he posted, the world couldn’t get enough of the handsome sword-wielding actor. He rarely did interviews, almost never smiled in public, easily got lost, and didn't talk a lot. However, the public still loves him very much.
But recently, people had started noticing something ..odd in Zoro’s Instagram posts.
In the background of many of Zoro's Instagram posts, blurred at the edge of the frame, half-hidden in reflections, caught in motion, there was someone. A person. Always in Zoro’s posts.
The fans began calling the person: Zoro’s Mysterious Partner.
At first, it was just a few comments:
“Who’s that next to Zoro?”
“The person keeps showing up in like, every picture.”
“Who is that person?”
After a while, the topic went viral.
A fan account posted a side-by-side reel of every image that has appeared in Zoro’s posts.
TikTok went wild. Twitter/X exploded. #ZorosMysteryPartner trended globally. It even became a hit topic in the entertainment news.
People had many theories like : A bodyguard? A secret brother? A boyfriend? (No way - Zoro never talked about dating.)
No one had guessed who the person was. Why? Because whoever the man was, he was always disguised. Hat, mask, sunglasses, even long sleeves to hide his skin, if any. The only consensus: the person was a man.
Zoro, for his part, said nothing. He didn’t come up and explain or respond to any comment made online.
However, even his friends were catching on.
At a casual hangout at Usopp’s place, the Straw Hats were lounging around watching a movie, when Usopp squinted at Zoro’s most recent post — a gym mirror selfie. Once again, the mystery man was in the background, tying his hair up.
“Dude,” Usopp said, “you can literally see the reflection of him in your water bottle.”
Nami leaned over. “You’re not even trying to hide it anymore . You want us to figure it out .”
Zoro grunted, eyes on the TV. “Not hiding anything.”
“So you do know him?” Robin said casually, sipping tea.
“Didn’t say that.”
“Zoro,” Robin said mildly, sipping tea, “you’ve posted more pictures of this man’s blurry elbow than you’ve ever posted of yourself.”
Even Luffy chimed in, mouth full of chips “He’s always next to you. He’s your friend, right? Or your boyfriend?”
“A boyfriend?” Sanji snorted from the kitchen. “The mosshead has a boyfriend?”
“Yohohoho! Young love in the air!” Brook sang.
“Zoro, please just tell us!” Chopper begged.
Zoro finally looked up. “Why should I tell you about my romantic relationship?”
“Because we’re your best friends,” Nami said, exasperated. “Best friends tell each other everything!”
“Nope!”
“Seriously, Zoro,” Usopp grumbled. “You’re never seen with anyone! No actors, no models—nothing.”
“Yeah, how come mossy, “ Sanji smirked at Zoro.
“Because you’re all blind,” Zoro muttered, staring pointedly at Sanji.
“Hey!” Sanji turned from the stove. “That’s rude, even for you!”
“Sanji, I’m hungry,” Luffy whined.
“Yeah, yeah,” Sanji grumbled. “Usopp, I’m borrowing your kitchen.”
“Go ahead.”
“Anyone wanna place bets on who Zoro’s mystery man is?” Nami smirked.
For three more months, the internet kept digging. And for three more months, Zoro kept ignoring it.
Not until that day.
The cast of the new Straw Hat Studios movie was scheduled for a live promotional interview. Everyone was there: Luffy, Nami, Usopp, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook—and of course, Zoro.
The only one missing? Sanji, who was not an actor but a world-famous chef.
The interview went smoothly, jokes, anecdotes, lots of laughs, until the very end.
The host leaned forward. “Zoro, before we wrap up, I have to ask. The world’s been dying to know—who is the mysterious man in your Instagram posts?”
The studio went quiet. Even the cast leaned in. The camera zoomed on Zoro’s face.
Zoro let out a sigh, deadpan as ever. “I figured you’d ask. And I know you’re all going to keep asking until you get an answer, right?”
“YES!” the entire room chorused.
Zoro raised an eyebrow. “Fine.”
He shifted in his seat. “He’s actually here today.”
Gasps. A buzz of voices rippled through the audience.
“Zoro, you mean your mystery partner is here?” the host asked, blinking.
“Yep.” Zoro stood up slightly and turned to the audience. “Baby! Come here!”
Someone stood from the front row. Dressed in the usual disguise, mask, sunglasses, and a cap, the man then walked casually to the stage.
“Would you mind introducing him?” the host asked eagerly.
Zoro nodded. “This man you’ve all been obsessing over is my boyfriend.”
“Boyfriend?!” Nami shrieked before slapping her hand over her mouth. “Sorry.”
Zoro smirked. “Boyfriend for almost four years, actually.”
The host gaped. “This is huge—what’s his name?”
Zoro looked at the disguised man beside him. “Want to do the honors?”
The man gave a theatrical sigh, then reached up to pull off the mask and hat.
Gasps filled the studio.
Silky blond hair. Piercing blue eyes. Sharp cheekbones. Recognizable to half the globe.
The man flashed a charming, wicked grin. “Black Leg Sanji. Nice to meet you.”
The host nearly dropped their mic. “Y-You’re the Sanji? The celebrity chef?!”
“The one and only.”
Sanji looped his arm around Zoro’s shoulders like it was the most natural thing in the world. Zoro didn’t shrug him off.
In fact, he leaned in slightly.
Zoro gave the camera the most done look in existence. “Now will you all stop stalking my Instagram?”
After the interview:
“You’ve been hiding this for four years?!” Usopp shouted.
“I suspected,” Robin murmured, a knowing smile on her lips.
“I cooked with this man once!” Nami cried, visibly offended.
“You’re dating Sanji?!” Luffy asked, eyes wide with admiration. “Cool!”
Sanji chuckled. “Surprise, dumbasses.”
“Why did you have to hide this from us?” Nami asked, arms crossed.
“Sorry, my lady. I didn’t want to hide it from you. It was this mosshead who asked me not to tell anyone about us.” Sanji pointed dramatically at Zoro.
“Zoro, why?” Chopper gasped.
“First of all—Usopp, Luffy, and you? You three can’t keep a secret to save your lives. Not that I didn’t trust you—it’s just that you three always accidentally spill things,” Zoro said with a deadpan look.
“…Okay, you have a point,” Usopp admitted.
“But what about us?” Franky asked, gesturing between him and the others.
“He thought you guys were smart enough to figure it out,” Sanji said dryly. “So he didn’t bother saying it.”
“And it turns out you’re all blind and dumb,” Zoro added.
“Don’t insult the ladies, you Marimo!” Sanji smacked Zoro on the head.
“OW! Was that necessary?” Zoro rubbed the spot.
“Yes,” Sanji replied, completely unfazed.
“You’re lucky I love you,” Zoro muttered.
“Or else what?” Sanji’s smile turned dangerous.
“Nothing,” Zoro said quickly. He didn’t want to sleep on the couch tonight.
“I can see who wears the pants in the relationship,” Nami laughed.
And after the reveal…
The internet? Broken. Utterly and completely shattered.
Articles flooded timelines: Zoro Confirms Long-Term Relationship With “Mysterious Man.”
Photo compilations resurfaced with triumphant captions. TikTok cried tears of joy. Fan edits multiplied. Memes were born.
The next day, Zoro posted a photo , a rare, beautifully lit one of him and Sanji on a rooftop at sunset. Zoro’s arm was wrapped possessively around Sanji’s waist. Sanji held a glass of wine, smirking like he’d just won the lottery.
The caption simply read: “Yeah, he’s real.”
Over 10 million likes.
The comment section? Chaos. Fans crying. Fans screaming. Fans declaring love and betrayal in the same breath. Fan art flooded timelines. Shipping names formed. “Zosan” trended globally for 48 hours. Some fans mourned the loss of their single-fantasy Zoro. Others rejoiced. Many just screamed in caps lock.
When Sanji was finally asked about it on his next cooking show, he just laughed.
“I told him not to post that cursed gym selfie with my leg in the mirror,” he said. “But what can you do? He’s a moron. A lovable one.”
As for Zoro?
He kept posting the same way he always did. Blurry selfies. Swords. But now, every few photos… Sanji was there. Fully visible. In the kitchen. On the couch. Next to him at dawn.
And for the fans, that was more than enough.
Zoro didn’t care about publicity. Or rumors. Or mystery.
He just loved a certain blond idiot who cooked too well, hit too hard, and made his life hell — in the best way possible.
