Chapter Text
Silver still had a lot to catch up and so much to learn, but one of the biggest knowledge he required was how exactly life was before this whole time shift took place.
From the Venice family's point of view, they all lived with a realistic standard Silver until one day, he became incoherent, and that's where the little adventure started. So what came before he “woke up”?
Gold could certainly help in that.
They met in her room, and all Silver asked was not to be biased in the retelling of the stories, and there was an easy way to do so without a doubt was to bring a device that looked like a tablet, connect a USB port to her laptop, wait, connect it to the tablet and set up some configurations.
The whole process simply looked majestic, with Silver carefully following her actions.
She placed the tablet on the ground and stepped back to allow the device to do its magic. It was a hologram projection of a recorded event –through the same device, no doubt–.
“This was my graduation!” She said excited to show him such an event, and Silver could guess why. An achievement this big was something meant to be shared alongside your family; a shame he missed an event like this.
“Don't worry, I'm still going through college!” She saw his discontent and quickly reassured him about it. “Oh! There's this very cool one, let me see if Mom has it.”
She left the room, leaving Silver to keep replaying the recording. Gold looked so happy in it, and he saw how he was smaller than his sister; the growth spurt must have been relatively recent.
Gold returned, and after more configuration, she played another clip.
“This one is your first recorded use of your powers!”
A topic that caught his attention in an instant, and the hologram played out a small white hedgehog lifting a box slightly off the ground, but visibly struggling. It also featured his mothers, who were clearly excited about this feat.
“That's me?”
Gold nodded with a smile. The video was simply adorable.
“Not everything is recorded, though, and there are many more that I'll have to tell you… Huh, you know what, I should do other things, but I have time for it.”
“What do you mean?”
“I can tell you of any fun memory you want… after all, I don't see you doing much.”
That was right, Silver was going to start high school tomorrow, and they still had some time left in the day, so he agreed they could continue. They both sat on the bed's soft cushions as Gold began to set up the tablet once more.
“I thought you were gonna tell me?”
“M-hm! I just wanted to record this moment.”
That was… a brilliant idea, it would be the first recorded memory of them since he returned, and it would make for a pretty hologram to look back at.
Yeah. He was ready for it.
