Chapter Text

When bad things happen we often blame ourselves. You should have done more. Why didn't you? What happened? A braver person would have acted stronger and faster. But your not that person are you? You're weak. You always were.

Pathetic.

Whilst these thoughts were swimming in his mind, Shinsou was drowning. He had been training with Aizawa for months now and he thought he was doing good but when it came down to it, facing villains is hard. You have to think on your feet and have immediate solutions. Instead he panicked and they had him down before he could react. Didnt even get the chance to use his quirk. This was the biggest issue on his mind, it was as simple as anything but he still fumbled it. He didnt know why. Well, actually he did know why, he knew full well why, he got scared and clammed up. He always went silent when afraid.

And now he's here, wrists and ankles bound in cuffs, mouth gagged and blindfolded in the back of some van.

What the hell am i supposed to do? flashes in his mind over and over like warning lights.

What was he supposed to do? Im not too sure myself. In a situation like this id be lost, scared, hopeless. Wouldn't you? So he sat and he waited having nothing else to do than focus on every bump and turn the van made. It at least may serve him later on when he escapes. If he escapes. You can never really be too sure with these things. Shinsou was sure though that a friend would notice he was missing from their dorms, or a teacher from their classroom. Even if he cant escape at the very least he will be saved.

They hit a harsh bump, and a sharp corner. This was going to be a long drive.

------

Midoriya is a very positive person. Such a positive person it makes me sick. Theres very little good in this world and yet he sees it in everything. Not today though. Not right now. There were no positives in this situation. And yet all he was thinking of was everyone else. Whether or not his classmates were okay, how worried they'll be, Aizawa doesn't need this right now. A lot of people would call this empathy or compassion, that he must have a heart of gold.

Bullshit.

I call it trauma. A lack of self-worth. A neglect of his own emotions.

I.Call. Bullshit.

Midoriya doesnt see his own emotions as important enough to care, like they are a burden to those around him, because they were treated as such, and then everyone labelled this as selflessness as a means to hide awful behaviour. No one else ever sees it. No one else sees the pain in his eyes that he himself doesnt even recognise anymore. I do. Isnt it obvious? Apparently not. His classmates and teachers dont see it. They dont know his past. It hurts.

He shuffles a little bit trying to find comfort that isnt there. Also bound, gagged, and blindfolded he doesn't know where he is. It feels like a trunk. It had sounded like a trunk. And a door definitely closed on top of him but he is really really hoping its not a trunk. A pointless hope because it is.

He tried to break out the cuffs already but his quirk hasn't worked since during the fight with his kidnappers when they managed to clamp one on. If he had to guess they were quirk nullifying handcuffs, not that it was a difficult conclusion to make.

With nothing left to do he waited. They hit a harsh bump and a sharp corner. This was going to be a long drive.

------

Aizawa sighed. Not his usual exasperated one reserved for his students and colleagues alike, but one meant to calm himself.

He was just informed that both Shinsou and Midoriya were just gone. Both having left the school grounds separately, they had not returned. Its been an hour and a half despite their 20-30 minute errands and neither are answering their phones.

He and some of the other faculty members were out questioning staff at each of the shops the students has visited. And honestly? It wasnt looking good. Both had left their respective shops ages ago. Shit. While he wouldnt let it show, Aizawa was starting to panic. His students were missing and he needed to act fast so he pulled out his phone.

Time to call the police and file a missing persons report.

He also needed to call their parents. This was going to be a difficult call to make but they needed to know.

Aizawa sighed again. Worry flooded through his body as his phone rang for the station. The worst part of hero work is when everything goes wrong and phone calls have to be made. He hoped for their sakes they were safe and lost track of time, maybe they had bumped into eachother? There'd be hell to pay if this was case but he would feel relieved.

The phone stopped ringing "Detective Tsukauchi, something wrong?"

"Very wrong."
