Chapter Text
For a while, Miguel Diaz meant everything to Mercy Santiago. And she thought she meant everything to him.
It was great while it lasted, her first love that she never intended to lose. But Miguel thought differently and Mercy never managed to get over it.
How could he just do that? Break up with her cowardly over text while she was out of the country?
And why is she still not over him?
She can't seem to move on, she's too hung up on the memories of her short fairytale that she doesn't even want to move on.
She wants to get him back, so badly it's physically hurting her.
And when his sworn enemy Robby Keene, the one boy Mercy actually despises, shows up at her safe place, she somehow has the absurdist idea.
Fake dating each other, for multiple reasons. But the most important one is that Mercy gets to make Miguel jealous. Maybe (and hopefully) so jealous that he comes crawling back to her.
Hurting her ex best friend Sam in the process would just be the cherry on top. She deserves it after everything she's done to her.
But what Mercy doesn't calculate in her plan is that the despise she feels for Robby somehow turns into affection.
And that is so against everything she wanted.
