“Hey sir, are you allowed to do that?”
Kamodon had seen all kinds of people in the capital over the years, but this was the first time he had seen such power first hand.
“Allowed to do what?” Subaru asked confused on why him holding hands with his two beautiful little girls would seem problematic.
Unless you were Ram, but Ram is Ram.
“…” he have a glance to the dark blue haired girl on this man’s right, and to the blonde haired girl with strange eyes to the left “I feel like I should call the guards.”
“The gua- I AM A KNIGHT MYSELF!!”
“Oh Dragon you have an entire group of these?” He whispered in disgust, thinking how this man in power used his position to torment girls of that age.
“Why you!!!”
“Oniii-san, I told you it would look bad.” Meili reprimed the “adult” of the trio for the idea.
“I don’t care looking bad if I can hold you hand Meili. Also, why don’t you start saying Dad, instead of Onii-san?” He said with pleading eyes.
“But Onii-san, I didn’t agree on that yet.” She said pouting her cheeks. This action however made Subaru smile only brighter, yet, she said yet. She didn’t reject the offer.
“Oh so they are your two daughters?” The man said relieved “Sorry then, I misread the situation.”
“Betty’s not Subaru’s daughter, she is a great spirit, in fact.”
“Yeah they are my pride and joy.” He said with a relieved smile, unbothered by the remark.
“Don’t ignore me, I suppose!!!”
Subaru kept ignoring her “What about you sir, you have a daughter yourself don’t you?”
“Yes, and she grows up so fast everyday, it makes me so proud and so sad at the same time.” Kamadon said looking apparently in the void, but he was visualising only how more beautiful his little Plum became in these years.
“Tell me about it. In this last month I had to teach this little princess.” He raised the hand holding Meili’s. “How to write. Even with all that I have to do every day as Emilia-tan’s knight, it was still the highlight of my days.”
“Being a father is the greatest of pains and greatest of satisfactions at the same time, after all. Eheheh” he broke into a heartfull laugh to which Subaru followed.
“Ehehehe-Uh? What’s up Beako?” Suddendly Subaru was broken out by his discussion when he noticed his n.1 Loli was looking at him with an analysing look.
“Betty does not know what her contractor is talking about, in fact. He is simply getting lost in these trivials discussions, I suppose.” She quickly turned away, negating al the accusations.
Both Subaru and Meili looked confused but shrugged it off. If they payed attention they would have noticed how she seemed to have breathed out in relief.
Meanwhile in a near rooftop
The most beautiful, and currently stressed out, red haired of the kingdom also breathed out in relief. He immediately run to the place once his “Warning! Subaru Natsuki met the Seller of Appas!” divine protection activated, but it seemed no checkpoint had been triggered this time around.
He could go back to his routine.
