“Mami it’s really not that hard to build a simple house.” Nicky said, looking at the block house Rio tried with all her might to build. Safe to say she failed, again.

“Look mijo I’m just not good at building, you know that.”

“Don’t worry Rio, nobody can be good at everything.” Alice chimed in. “I don’t really build either, I just like to explore and slay the mobs. Also planting things, however I’m surprised you’re not the one doing that.”

“So I’m obliged to do everything plant related just because I love plants?” She said, feigning offense.

Alice didn’t answer but a smile was evident on her lips while she shook her head.

It all started a few months ago when Nicky asked her to play Minecraft with him. Ever the gamer, and because of course she loved her son with all her heart, Rio agreed. Despite not knowing where the sudden urge to play Minecraft came for Nicky she immediately understood after seeing the newest update “Happy Ghast”, and honestly? What kind of veteran Minecraft player could resist happy ghasts? Not her for sure.

At first it was just the two of them playing in their survival world. It soon became apparent that Nicky was an awesome builder no matter his young age. He could build everything he set his mind to. Castles? Incredible creativeness. Piers and even whole villages? He decorated them beautifully. Bridges and passages? Rio has never in her life seen such elegant bridges. As for herself, well, she could build a block house or dig herself in the ground to avoid mobs at night if she really wanted to.

She liked to live in her mine, gather ores, materials, anything really. Anything but building. Therefore, she and Nicky made a deal. She would mine blocks, get wood, gather materials for him, so he can build whatever he likes, and in turn Nicky will build her whatever she asks for. Rio asked for a house. A decent one.

However, a few weeks back when Alice and Jen were over and Nicky was playing in their world Alice started a conversation about it with him, saying that she liked to play occasionally too. In the end Rio had to pay for monthly subscriptions for their survival realm world so they could play with Alice, but honestly, she had no regrets, seeing the joy on her son’s face.

“Don’t forget love that Alice is coming over soon to play with you two.” Agatha reminded them. “I’ll have to leave for a while to gather the exams I have to grade for these sorry excuses of students.” She leaned down to give Rio a soft kiss and then to Nicky on his forehead. “Don’t be too loud my loves. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

“We’re never that loud Mama.” Nicky tried to disagree.

Agatha quirked and eyebrow. “Really? Must I remind you my dear, that last time when I got home the neighbours stopped me to tell you to be quieter.”

“We weren’t even that loud! We were just having fun.”

“Oh, I’m sure my sweet.” She smiled at Nicky. “I don’t mind you two being so loud since you’re having fun, but I don’t want to deal with our neighbours.”

“I’ll take care of them next time my love.” Rio leaned her head back against the back of the sofa, looking at Agatha upside down. “Don’t worry too much.”

Agatha let out an approving nod and with that she turned to leave. “Have fun!”

“Bye mi amor!”

“Come back soon Mama!”

Not long after Agatha left the doorbell rang.

“I’ll get it!” Nicky yelled while jumping off their couch and running to the door at full speed. “Hey aunty Alice, we’ve been waiting for you all afternoon.”

“Hi kid.” With a soft smile on her lips Alice slipped inside.

“Don’t forget to take your boots off now.” Rio said, eyes still on her screen.

“That was only one time!”

After Alice deliberately removed her boots and coat she moved to the living room, Nicky already back in his original spot, next to Rio. “Hey.”

“Hey to you too. Need a drink? Or something to eat?” Rio asked.

“Nah I’m good. Let’s just get into this.” As Alice pulled out her Nintendo, Nicky and Rio have already logged in their realm.

“Okay, so what did I miss?”

“Nothing really, we waited for you before really starting it all.” Rio informed Alice. “We kind of have a basic base on the mountain because someone said she doesn’t want to have a base in the ground like dwarfs.”

“I like to have a view.” Alice smiled and logged in too. “And it’s safer from the mobs too. Also just to be clear, is the inventory loss on or not?”

“It’s on so be careful.” Rio warned. “You too mijo. I know how you always get slain or fall from too high.”

“That’s exactly why I’m the builder here. I’ll start building the lower levels immediately!” Nicky said enthusiastically. “Aunty Alice wanna help?”

“Sure kid, tell me what to do.” And Nicky did, in extreme detail.

“I’ll be going down to the diamond level to mine my tunnels.” Rio was already leaving their base.

“You know Mami that it’s not that good of a method anymore, right?”

“But it’s fun and we get a lot of blocks and ores too. It still works for me.” While her tunnels might not be the most efficient way to mine diamonds, Rio was perfectly suited with her system. Two blocks high and one block wide tunnels. Whenever she reaches lazuli or diamonds while still having the option to mine forward, she turns 90 degrees left and right therefore creating new tunnels. Always bringing signs so she knows where her little underground base is, otherwise, it would be a maze. An old method, but she likes it either way.

She mined as long as she had the mood and she indeed gathered a lot of redstones, lazuli and gold alongside some diamonds. She stored them away and emerged from her mine, the entrance could be found at the base of their mountain base. “Need any help mijo?”

“We just came back with aunty Alice from a big adventure! We found a village and gathered all kinds of stuff too.”

“Cool. I got you some blocks and ores so you can start building.” She started to dump her almost full inventory in their shared chest. “We really need more chests to sort all of these things out.” She said.

“I’ll begin planting the crop seeds we gathered.” Alice announced and left.

“We need more iron Mami.”

“I know papi, but I can’t really find them on the diamond level.” Rio said, but her son was right. They desperately needed more iron even though she already had an iron pickaxe. She could go down into those huge caves but that was also not the most efficient way to get iron. “Here’s an idea, you choose what we should do mijo. We can go and explore the deep caves as an adventure, or we could build an iron farm near the base.”

Nicky’s eyes lighted up. “An adventure again? I love adventures!”

“I know Nicky but if we go on an adventure all the time to get materials then we will always have to go further and further since we’ve already explored the near caves and caverns.” Rio sat up straighter, facing Nicky now. “But if we make an iron farm, which is really simple to build, then we will have an infinite amount of iron easily.” She let her son think it through.

“While you think about it, I go and get us some snacks, okay? Rio didn’t wait for an answer from him before standing up and moving to the kitchen, she knew that Nicky was starting to get hungry, they’ve been at it for hours now, which makes her think Where is Agatha?

She turned back from the kitchen. ”What kind of drink you need Alice?”

“Water will be fine.” Alice didn’t look up from her screen fully immersed in the game, probably trying not to get slain by the mobs.

After successfully preparing some snacks and drinks for the three of them she pulled out her phone to call her wife before moving back into their living room.

“Hey love, what is it?” Rio heard Agatha speak through the phone.

“Hi mi amor. You’ve been away for quite a while now, I was just wondering when you’re coming home.” Cradling her phone with her shoulder and jaw Rio picked up the tray of drinks she prepared while trying to balance the bowl of snacks on the glasses.

“Alice please come and help! These zombies are gonna kill me!”

“So much for not being loud, I can hear him through the phone.” Agatha really tried to sound exasperated, but Rio could hear the softness in her voice. ”I’ll be home in 20, crazy traffic and Lilia stopped me to talk about passing percentages. Honestly, she acts like I fail every student in every semester but that’s not true- “

Shit.

Is all Agatha could hear along with a loud clatter.

“Rio? You okay?”

Mierda. Wait a minute love.” Rio said, putting down the tray with the glasses carefully on the counter, holding her phone normally now. Thankfully the loud noise was only the snacks tumbling down atop from the drinks and not the glasses shattering on the floor because she really didn’t have the mood to clean up broken glasses right now. She had a mission: Having family time with her son, and she loved her son more than she could probably say.

“Mami?” Of course everyone heard the clamour she made.

“Rio! What happened?”

“I’m alive everyone. It was just the way I can’t bring everything at once and I dropped the snacks.” She looked around the mess she caused. Wonderful, she thought. “Okay love I gotta hang up now and clean this up before you see this in person. Drive safe, see you at home. Love you.” She said hastily.

“I’ll be home soon. Love you too.”

Rio hang up and put her phone in her shorts’ pocket. Before she could even start gathering the crumbs scattered on the floor Alice came into the kitchen.

“Need help cleaning that up?”

“Nah it’s fine. But you could bring the drinks to the living room while I handle this.” She handed Alice the tray with said drinks.

“Sure thing.”

After she finished cleaning up the mess, she prepared another pack of snacks and with more balance, she brought them to the living room. “Here you go.” She handed them to Nicky.

“Thanks, Mami!” He munched on them happily, clearly enjoying some food after all this gaming. “We should build an iron farm. You’re right Mami, infinite iron is so much better, and we can always go on an adventure without needing to gather materials.”

Rio smiled. “That’s the spirit mijo. We can start building it after you drank and ate but after we’re done with the farm we’ll call it a night.”

“Fine.” Nicky agreed clearly not very eagerly. “Did you call Mama? When is she coming home?”

“Mama will be home in 20, she said. We must finish before she arrives.” She sat back in front of her screen. “Okay, first we’ll need to dig out a 6x7x2 hole bring 2 water buckets and then we’ll also have to create a 20x21 dirt path around it so the golem will only spawn in the hole.” Nicky was actively listening Rio could feel his gaze on herself. “We’ll also need 3 villagers and 3 beds for them, a zombie, 4 hoppers, 2 chests, lava and signs.”

“On it! You bring the zombie and villagers Mami, and I’ll make the hole, dirt path and bring everything else.” Nicky sprinted out from their base, gathering everything they needed while Rio set off to get those 3 villagers and that zombie.

“And I’ll just keep planting my seeds, got it.” Alice said but they couldn’t seem to hear her.

“I’m home!”

While on her way back with the 3rd villager, Rio heard Agatha yell from their door. This takes way longer than expected, she thought.

“Hey sweetheart.” Not looking up from her screen she was determined to finish this before Agatha steps in their living room. The hole was already set up with the chests, hoppers, signs and the lava which kills the golem were ready too. The last things missing were that one villager she’s currently transporting via boat from the near village and a zombie. “Nicky, lure that zombie into a boat. Quick!

As he managed to take the zombie to the hole they dug under the golem spawn, Rio arrived with the last villager just when Agatha came into their living room. “You’re still not done?”

“Yess!”

“It’s done!”

“Finally.” Alice sighed.

All four of them spoke at the same time.

“Told you that we could finish it before she arrives.” Rio said while high-fiving Nicky. “Good job mijo.”

Jumping off the couch Nicky practically ran to Agatha, hugging her tightly. “Welcome back Mama. We went on a lot of adventures with aunty Alice and we just finished the iron farm with Mami.”

“That’s good sweetheart.” She leaned down to give him kisses on his cheeks. “Now go take a bath please, it’s already so late.”

“Will you read me a bedtime story after?” He asked with clear eagerness in his voice. “Pretty please?”

“Aren’t you a little too old for bedtime stories darling?”

“Never. I like it whenever you or Mami read for me. It’s soothing and makes me sleepy faster.” Nicky said, releasing Agatha and running up the stairs to his bedroom.

Before Rio could say anything, Alice has already packed away her Nintendo and was already on her way to the door.

“I should go home, Jen is going to kill me. Thanks for the game.” She said. “Next week at the same time?”

“Yeah. Thanks Alice.” After putting on her coat and boots, she left.

Taking the snacks first - because she’s not risking making a mess again - Rio started to put away the bowls in their kitchen. She could hear the glasses clinking as Agatha put them down on the counter behind her. “You’re lucky I can’t see the remnants of the chaos you made earlier.” Her voice was gentle despite the scolding.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Rio said dismissively. She knew that she couldn’t fool Agatha.

Rio felt delicate hands slide around her hip from the back and then Agatha pressing herself to her. She couldn’t help the shiver that ran through her body. No matter how many times Agatha touches her (through clothes or not), it always sent chills down her spine. She loved it.

“Mhm.” Agatha hummed near her ear. Another wave of chills.

Fuck.

“Did you two have fun?” Agatha asked without needing answer really, still near her ear, barely not touching. This woman is going to be death of her for sure.

Rio tried to keep her voice steady, yet suddenly hyperaware, she couldn’t help the want starting to burn deep in her stomach. Damn her beautiful wife and her seductiveness. Or it’s just me being too weak for her. Probably.

“Y-yeah! I showed Nicky how to build an iron farm, but he’s a natural builder.” She leaned into Agatha’s embrace. “His creativeness is wonderful.”

Agatha didn’t answer, however Rio could feel her leaving kisses on her neck.

“Did you get the exams you have to grade?” Rio tried. She felt those graceful hands sliding under her shirt.

“Mhm.” Agatha hummed but didn’t stop kissing along Rio’s neck. Her hands sliding higher still.

“You know that Nicky is still awake right?”

Agatha’s hands stopped in their track. A groan. Yeah, she definitely forgot for a moment there. Can’t blame her.

“We’re not done yet though.” With a last kiss to her shoulder, Agatha released her fully. When Rio turned around, she was nowhere to be seen, although she could hear her wife going upstairs to their son’s room who was probably already done bathing.

While Rio washed the dishes, she could hear the faint sound of Agatha’s even voice as she was no doubt reading a bedtime story to Nicky. By the time she finished, put away everything to its right place and returned to their bedroom to search for Agatha, the water in the bathroom was already running. So, she prepared her shorts and tank top she would sleep in and splayed out in the middle of their bed, waiting for Agatha to finish.

She didn’t remember when she fell asleep, but Rio woke when clothes were thrown on her face.

“Why?” She pulled Agatha’s clothes from her face with a grunt, voice heavy with sleep even though she’s sure she didn’t sleep for long.

“Go take a bath before falling asleep, okay?” Agatha patted her leg lightly and sat beside her. “Go now, you’re going to dirty our bed.”

“I don’t think that matters anymore.” Rio murmured.

Reluctantly she stood up, shot a glare to Agatha - who only smirked at her and lay down on the bed-, grabbed her clothes and hurried to the bathroom. Soaking in the warm tub will surely do wonders to her.

When she was finished, she padded back to their bedroom, stopping in her tracks to check on Nicky. She couldn’t help the warm smile spreading over her face when she saw that he was sound asleep in his triceratops PJs, hugging his Snoopy plushie Agatha bought for him on a whim. “Good night mijo.”

As Rio arrived in their bedroom again, Agatha was still laying on the bed, her gaze fixated on the ceiling seemingly deep in thoughts. When she heard Rio putting away her clothes, moving around the room her eyes focused in on her, but she still didn’t move. Agatha only turned to her – propping herself up on one elbow – when Rio lay down next to her.

“What?” Rio asked with such tenderness in her voice Agatha was lost in words and just shook her head.

“Nothing, really.” Agatha said. “Nicky was so eager for a bedtime story and then he fell asleep in minutes. You really wore him down.” She smiled, reaching out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind Rio’s ear with gentle movements.  Agatha’s hand remained on her cheek, grounding her.

Rio leaned into her touch more if that was possible. “We managed to create and do a lot of things today. I expected him to be tired after we played so much. He did so well.” Her pride towards her son evident in her voice.

“You also did well.” Agatha inched closer, already throwing her arm around her wife’s waist. “I think you deserve a reward for that.”

Agatha’s words sent a shiver through her, anticipation pooling low in her belly, slow, warm and very dangerous. “Who am I to disagree.” Her fingers lightly traced Agatha’s waist up and down, up and down, the skin soft beneath her touch.

“What if we continue what we couldn’t finish in the kitchen?” This was not a question. Delicate lips found hers, kissing her fully, tenderly with so much want Rio was a bit overwhelmed. She matched Agatha’s want right away, tongue sliding into her wife’s mouth. Seconds later Agatha was on top of her, straddling her stomach, gently tracing her fingers under her tank top and easily finding her way up, up.

Rio whimpered softly, her hands landing on Agatha’s waist instinctively, not letting her go.

Interrupting their kiss, Agatha leaned back so she could properly look into Rio’s eyes. “I love the way that you rarely wear a bra. Especially when we’re home.” She said and dove right back in, gently touching her breasts. Rio couldn’t help the moan leaving her mouth now.

She felt Agatha’s tongue on her neck, sensationally warm. She licked her way down slowly, painstakingly slowly. Rio’s grip tightened on her waist, holding on for dear life.

She wanted Agatha now. All of her.

She flipped their position, now straddling Agatha’s thigh.

“Enough of playing around.” She grunted and latched onto her wife’s lips.

Agatha, throwing her hands around Rio’s neck and pulling her closer, just giggled. Surrendering wholeheartedly.
