The Defense
The prosecution hated nearly everyone on the MCRT doing trial duty and avoided it as much possible. If they couldn’t, they tried to only get DiNozzo on the stand as the others were mercurial at best and hostile at worst.
But the day came when a smart Defense team found out about their avoiding bring any of the computer team members up to testify as they called McGee up themselves and that was when the prosecution’s case fell apart. As the Defense got McGee to earnestly go into detail about all the illegal ways they got the information they were using in the case against the Defense’s client.
Case dismissed and lawsuit filed against the agency. And McGee in particular. Followed up by all the agencies he hacked, adding in their own lawsuit as he had compromised their security by adding back-doors, others used for illegal activities. Many of them crash systems altogether.
Tony was covered as he had written his concerns about it in his own reports and added that he was overridden to get the case closed. Gibbs was now on trial for giving the order to McGee to hack as he needed to close the case.
Todd was removed to work with sex crimes and let her be schooled by the females there. And Tony was moved over to cover Pacci and saved his life.
McGee was forced into prison for several years and lost any hope of working a job with computers ever again.
And Abby threw such a fit over all the changes around her she was fired for cause.
And all because two people couldn’t stay in their own lane in their investigation as they believed the closure rate trumped the convicted rate.
