Work Text:
Paige’s eyes were locked on the Sinners Sacrifice machine. The lights on top filled, blinked, and turned off again, a rhythm that should have been easy enough for her to follow. With her nerves in the state that they were, though, she struggled to actually commit to the final blow. Each time she started to wind up, she hesitated, letting the lights flicker through another cycle. It was agonizing.
She couldn’t waste any more time on this. She allowed the lights to fill one more time, and closing her eyes, she forced herself through the motion. The girl stepped forward, thrusting out her books and allowing her conjured maces to slam into the controls. With a series of methodical clicks and a cheesy jingle, condensed souls spilled out of the machine for Paige to collect before the case fell apart completely.
The woman exhaled heavily. She hated being alone out here. The silence was anxiety-inducing, and if anyone did manage to catch her out, she had very little to defend herself with. She would normally never consider separating this far from her team, but with how far she had fallen behind everyone else, she was desperate for some extra items. She just had to be careful--
Paige’s train of thought was interrupted by the crack of a gunshot, her stack of books being knocked from her arms by its impact. The woman jumped in shocked, stifling a yelp as her head spun towards the source of the attack.
Mina. Paige had seen her around a few times so far, but oddly, she had never made a move to actually attack. Except now, she had Paige cornered, alone, and disarmed.
And now she was stepping closer.
Suddenly realizing she was standing completely still, Paige jolted forward, leaning down to try and gather her tomes. Before her hands could reach them, however, another two shots rang out, knocking them across the room. Her only defense had been taken.
“Well well.” The coy voice echoed through the empty room as Mina stepped forward, twirling her pistol on her finger. “Looks like it’s just us out here. You’re not so tough when you’re not hiding behind your team, bookworm.”
Paige wanted to back up, but she found herself frozen in place. None of her limbs would cooperate. All she could do was watch in horror as her enemy approached. “S-stay back,” she shakily threatened, “or else I’ll…”
Mina tilted her head, smiling softly, waiting for Paige to finish.
“I’ll…”
“Right.” The vampire rolled her eyes a bit, stopping just in front of the bookworm and leaning in softly. Fangs poked out of the corners of her smile as she rubbed the end of her pistol across Paige’s jaw. “You’ll do nothing. Because right now, you’re all mine. Get it?”
Paige’s breath hitched. She felt her body stiffen up, those words managing to spike her nerves… but not in the same way. Mina, it seemed, also noticed this, as her smile drooped slightly in confusion. She leaned in a touch closer, as if to study her opponent’s face.
“You’re blushing.” Her words were equal parts statement and question. “Don’t tell me… are you actually into this?”
“No!” Paige sputtered her answer far too quickly. She had never been a good liar, and the situation she found herself in was only making that fact worse.
A small, amused laugh tickled her ear. The vampire tucked her pistol away into her handbag, freeing her up to grab Paige’s shoulder and slide out of view behind her. “You’re more of a freak than I thought,” she whispered, feeling the way Paige’s body twitched in reaction.
With her body frozen stiff, Paige found herself unable to turn her head and follow Mina’s movement. Despite that, she could still feel her presence. The vampire was directly behind her, pressing herself into the back of the bookworm’s sweater, hovering her head over the girl’s shoulder opposite to where her hand lingered. And, moments later, that hand started to trail downwards.
Paige couldn’t stop herself from shivering, feeling those fingers teasing across her clothes, brushing against her chest and stomach as they explored. Her heels made tiny clicks against the concrete as she squirmed beneath the woman’s touch. She knew she should do something, but her body refused to move.
“I wonder…?”
Before Paige could question what that meant, she felt the hand curl around the fringe of her skirt. Her knees pushed together, feeling them drawing closer and closer to her…
“Eep!” Paige jumped, feeling the fingers press against base of her panties. After rubbing two fingers up and down to confirm, Mina laughed again, this time directly into Paige’s ear.
“You’re wet!” The vampire sounded like she was holding back a laugh. “How sad do you have to be for this to turn you on?”
Despite her disgusted words, Mina didn’t seem like she intended to stop. The fingers kept prodding, running across the growing wet spot on her underwear, forcing little whimpers and whines out of her throat. Paige held her eyes shut, her body flooding with conflicting emotions that were fighting among themselves for dominance.
“W-wait,” the girl eventually sputtered.
“Hm?” At the word, Mina stopped abruptly, fingers hovering just barely above where they once were. “Why? What are we waiting for?”
For a moment, silence settled over the two. Paige, still completely tucked under the vampire’s thumb, struggled to form a sentence between her soft gasps and huffs. Instead, all she could manage was a few isolated syllables, and eventually Mina decided to fill in the blank.
“You want me to stop?” The question was laced with teasing energy, her fingers barely brushing across the girl’s crotch again to spark a twitch from her body.
“...n-no…” Her word was barely a whisper, her hips weakly shifting to try and grind against those tantalizingly close fingers.
“So pathetic,” Mina cooed, lifting her umbrella hand to hook a finger into the collar of Paige’s sweater. “Well in that case, I’m sure you won’t mind if I take a little something too, right? It’s only fair.”
Paige gulped. She could feel the vampire’s head lingering right at the crook of her neck. The girl’s soft breath washing over her skin made her shiver, its subtle presence somehow being just as prominent in her mind as the fingers grinding against her panties. Her eyes closed, her heart thumping out of her chest as she felt two pointed teeth gently graze against her skin--
Before Mina could sink her fangs into her prey, the duo were interrupted by a deafening roar echoing through the streets. The ground trembled beneath them and the sound of shredding metal filled the air as, a few blocks over, the Amber Hand ripped away the first layer of the enemy patron’s defenses.
Mina’s head rose, staring off in the direction of her base as she realized how much time she had wasted here. For a moment, she hesitated, eyes flicking between the nerd and the distant fight a few times until…
“Damn it!” The vampire pulled away from her prey, turning on her heel and disappearing into a swarm of bats that rushed out of view.
And, just like that, Paige was alone. In the wake of it all, she almost felt as if her knees would buckle underneath her. Her nerves were frayed and sweat was beading on her forehead, but she didn’t have time to recover. Her team needed her.
Taking a moment to readjust her skirt, Paige jogged over to her discarded books, stumbling slightly as she did so. Normally she’d be upset by the bullet holes her tomes now held, but her mind was far too busy to worry about that. She barely even registered the new imperfections as she scooped them back into her arms. As she scrambled to recompose herself and run towards the fray, Paige only had one thing on her mind. Once all this was over… she needed to find the courage to ask that vampire out.
