Chapter Text
The morning started like all the usual ones for him. Slow.
Togame woke up and got ready, taking a morning shower to fully wake up and not be half-asleep during the morning, get his clothes on, and head to the kitchen to meet up with his grandpa to have breakfast together. Then he would slip on his Shishitoren jacket. In the past, he'd look over the members to make sure none of them were weak. Now, all he did was look after them and set the patrols.
However, what was odd was the rather... large cardboard box on the table. Togame blinked, confused. That was... not there before. His grandpa was already done with breakfast, having served Togame his own while his plate was in the sink. Oh, that meant he must have woken up early. Still, the hell was up with the box? It wasn't super big, but it was large.
Carefully, he used a knife to cut the tape, not wanting to harm the contents of whatever was inside. It could be anything, really. New kitchenware, food, clothes, anything. Togame didn't want to, you know, ruin it on accident by being careless.
"MEW!"
Almost immediately, once the box was opened, something that made a meowing sound jumped at him. He let out a yelp as he tumbled back, dropping the knife as he quickly used his two hands to grab whatever had jumped at him. His face stung a little bit, but it wasn't really bad, probably just a scratch. Slowly, he opened his eyes, brows furrowed. Because, what he was holding, looked like a chibi version of Choji. Just with cat ears. He blinked.
"...Choji?"
"Mew?"
"Three... five... seven." Togame counted as the chibi human... kitten... hybrid things, that look like his friends, settle in his room, once he had breakfast. He did slap himself once just to see if this was some sort of dream he hadn't woken up from, but nope. This was very much real. There were chibi versions with cat ears of him and his gang mates in his room, all in the box from earlier because they were very much on edge. Most of them.
Chibi Choji was just bouncing around the box endlessly, he was very much ecstatic about the new enviroment and excited to explore his new surroundings. Togame's own chibi was trying to calm down Chibi Choji. Chibi Sako, following Chibi Togame, was holding back Chibi Inugami from jumping out of the box and running around the room like an excited cat. Chibi Kanuma and Chibi Arima stuck together, with the former laying his head on the latter's shoulder, clearly anxious about the new enviroment. The latter had an arm around him in a protective manner that was, frankly, adorable. 'I swear, those two need to realise their feeling for one another.' The second-in-command thought. Then there was Chibi Wanijima, who was... doing his own thing. What it was, Togame did not know.
Togame scratched the back of his head, brows furrowed. What was he, exactly, supposed to do here? They were chibi human kitten hybrids. Did they eat normal human food? Did they eat cat food? Do they drink water? Or milk? What the hell did he have to do? Choji would know what to do, he's the cat expert, but- they're hybrids, that's the thing. He had no idea what to actually feed them. Were they even hungry right now?
Chibi Wanijima mewed at him, walking over in slow, adorable strides, as if to get his attention. He climbed up and out of the box, climbing up his body and settling on his shoulder. Togame sat frozen, not wanting to move in case Chibi Wanijima fell off. He wouldn’t want that to actually happen. Chibi Wanijima curled up on himself happily, closing his eyes. And the green-eyed teenager paused. Did... Did Chibi Wanijima fall asleep on his shoulder?
That's what seemed to have happened, yes, because Chibi Choji began to meow and pout at Chibi Wanijima, as if jealous. Oh lord. Chibi Togame didn't seem to knownhow to calm down Chibi Choji, either. "Uh... you can be on my head?" Togame offered, pointing at his head. That seemed to get Chibi Choji's attention, his brown eyes sparkling at the offer. He nodded happily, movements really fast. So Togame carefully took the chibi in his hands, seeing him climb onto his palms with Chibi Togame's help. Carefully, he placed the chibi hybrid on his head. He settled almost instantly, laying down on his head and meowing happily. Well, crisis averted, maybe.
"What am I supposed to do with the lot of you..?"
"Mew!"
"...I can't really understand you, mini me."
