    All it took was a single decision. Just one. And suddenly the young, quirkless boy wasn’t so quirkless anymore.

    This newfound quirk is enough to save his childhood friend turned bully when he is attacked by a villain made of sludge, all without getting in the way of the heroes. It’s enough to get into UA. It’s even enough to protect him from those that would do him harm.

    It should be enough to keep his mother around – to make her love him. It should be enough for him to believe that when someone says they care, they mean it.

    But it isn’t. Izuku has learned that no one truly cares. Not about him.

Remember this: You are a Hero. And the world is counting on you—even if nobody realizes it. Here. When the time comes... give this to him. You'll know he trusts you when he calls you 'Problem Child.'" He smiled fondly, handing Izuku a pair of rings on a chain.
