“...He left… He really left. I hope you’ll be happy now, Chi Cheng…”
Chi Cheng looked around as he took in the scenery of the place he had grown up in. His usual expression plastered on his face but he felt happy to be back.
“Welcome back” He heard, looking back to be met with Wang Shuo who smiled at him. He nods and starts walking, leaving Wang Shuo behind.
Questions circled his mind as he took steps on the pavement.
How is Wu Suo Wei? Where is Wu Suo Wei? Is Wu Suo Wei waiting for him?
Will Wu Suo Wei be happy to see me?
Chi Cheng didn’t know but his legs led him to the same clinic where he had shared memories with Suo Wei. He got in, Wang Shuo followed after him. His eyes looked for a certain male, hoping he was there—waiting. Chi Cheng walked in, Wang Shuo following after him.
His eyes looked around, hoping to spot a male—hoping he was there, waiting for him. He’s startled as felt a slight push at his legs and sees a kid, sitting on the ground after bumping into his legs.
“Oh, no! I’m sorry, mister!” The kid says and gets up, bowing to apologize.
“I didn’t mean to bump into you, mister!” He said and finally looked up. Chi Cheng’s heart skipped a beat. The kid looked exactly like Wu Suo Wei.
“Xiao Han, uncle told you to not play around!” Chi Cheng looks up as he hears that familiar voice, his eyes widening as he sees Cheng Yu.
Cheng Yu made eye contact with him, stopping in a halt. They stared at each other for a minute until Han interrupted them.
“Uncle, Han didn’t mean to! I was bored”
“Cheng Yu…” Chi Cheng says, a small smile appearing on his face as he met his friend once again.
“Xiao Chao, go to uncle Shuai Shuai, okay? Uncle has something to do” The little boy nods, giggling before running to the said male, probably at the back.
“I didn’t know you came back” Cheng Yu says, surprise laced in his voice.
“I just got back”
“Yeah” His friend scratched his nape; he looked nervous.
“Who was the kid?” Chi Cheng decides to ask, frowning. Wang Shuo watches, also curious. Cheng Yu stayed quiet, shrugging.
“You don’t know? But you knew his name and you refer to yourself as his uncle” Wang Shuo says and Chi Cheng glared at him.
“This is none of your business, Wang Shuo… Can you please go back home”
Wang Shuo huffs, looking at Chi Cheng with a glare.
“Whatever” The man says and leaves the clinic, leaving Cheng Yu and Chi Cheng to talk alone.
“Cheng Yu, tell me… who was the kid?”
“Why are you here?”
A voice said and Chi Cheng looked, seeing Xiao Shuai. The doctor carried the child, who smiled and waved at him.
“Xiao Shuai…” Chi Cheng says he was glad to see the doctor, but he was still hoping to see Suo Wei.
“Cheng Yu, please take this man out of my clinic” Shuai says, voice stern with a serious expression.
“Xiao Shuai, what are you doing?” Chi Cheng asks, frowning.
“Taking out the trash” Xiao Shuai simply says and gestured to Cheng Yu to do what he’s told. Cheng Yu apologizes and takes Chi Cheng out of the clinic, away where they can talk.
“What are you doing? I need to know if Suo Wei is there”
“Suo Wei… does not have anything to do with you anymore” His friend says, sighing.
“Huh..?” Chi Cheng frowns, sighing.
“You left him, Chi Cheng… and I can understand why he does not want anything with you anymore. Suo Wei is happy now, don‘t bother him anymore” Cheng Yu says, sighing.
“What?”
“I’m really sorry, Chi Cheng… but it’s for the better, you don’t know what happened to Suo Wei when you left—I should be mad at you, but you’re my friend… and although I am a little upset for what you did, I’m sure you have a reason. It’s better if you two don’t cross paths..”
“It’s better if you two don’t cross paths..”
Chi Cheng sat on the bar, head resting on his arms as he sighed. Cheng Yu’s words replayed in his head and questions circled. Who was the kid? Will Suo Wei accept him again if he tells him the real reason? Will Suo Wei ever want to see him again?
Chi Cheng was going crazy. He doesn’t know what to do. He felt guilty—feeling he hadn’t felt for so long.
He just wants to see Suo Wei, talk to him and tell him that he’s sorry. He wants Suo Wei back, hugs him and feels his warmth once again.
He just hopes that he meets Suo Wei just once and explains everything that happened.
——
Chi Cheng watches from the outside of the clinic, staying in his car so that no one would see him. His eyes followed everyone that would go in, hoping it was Suo Wei, but to no luck, the man had not arrived or seen. Just as he’s about to give up waiting, he sees Cheng Yu.
A frown appeared on his face and that’s when his breath hitches. Wu Suo Wei was following him, a child in his arms and they were smiling widely. The same child he had met almost a week ago.
He got out of his car and rushed in, startling everyone inside.
“Wei Wei…” Was the first thing he said, causing the younger male to look at him with wide eyes.
“Hey! Why would you barge in like that?! If my glass doors shattered, you’ll pay for it!” Xiao Shuai says, getting in between Suo Wei and Chi Cheng as soon as he saw the taller male approach his friend.
“I don’t care… Wei Wei, I finally saw you again” Chi Cheng smiled, but Suo Wei looked away. Suo Wei called Cheng Yu, handing him the small child.
“Cheng Yu, please take Sihan out for the meantime” Suo Wei says and Cheng Yu nods, going to the back with the little child. Chi Cheng’s eyes followed Cheng Yu before his attention went back to Suo Wei.
“Wei Wei, I’m here… Are you not happy to see me?”
Suo Wei continued to be quiet while Chi Cheng couldn’t even get close due to Xiao Shuai standing between them.
“Da Bao?” Chi Cheng tries again and Suo Wei sighs, finally looking up.
“Xiao Shuai…” The doctor looks back, frowning.
“Let me talk to him”
“But, Da Wei—”
“I’ll be okay, don’t worry… Go attend to your patients for now, I’ll be back soon” Xiao Shuai was hesitant, but the look on his friend’s face caused him to give in. He looks back at Chi Cheng, glaring at him and grabbing the collar of his shirt.
“Do something to him and I’ll make sure you won’t be able to go home unharmed” Xiao Shuai whispered to his ears before letting go and attending to his patients.
Chi Cheng and Suo Wei made eye contact before the smaller male started walking out. Chi Cheng followed like a lost puppy.
They reached the back of the clinic, Suo Wei finally looking at him once again. The smaller male’s arms cross and he raises a brow at Chi Cheng.
“Speak.” Suo Wei says, voice monotone and stern.
“Wei Wei, I… I missed you” Suo Wei scoffs, looking away.
“Weren’t you happy with Wang Shuo? Why would you miss me?” Suo Wei asks, laughing bitterly.
“Me and Wang Shuo were in different places… We only crossed paths again when we met at the airport… Da Bao, listen… I didn’t follow Wang Shuo, I didn’t get back with him—I would never, not again. Da Bao, you’re the only one I want..” Chi Cheng explained, sighing.
“You left so easily, how would I believe you?”
“Wei Wei, I did it for you…” The frown on Suo Wei’s face deepens, he was holding himself back from crying. Chi Cheng’s comeback was already a shock to him, having to hear his voice once again was adding to that. The Chi Cheng once loved—still love—was in front of him… Not a picture, a video, and not an imagination.
He was really here.
“Chi Cheng, please don’t poison my head anymore… I’m tired, I’m tired from all of this!” Suo Wei snapped, his arms dropping to his side. His strong facade disappeared and his vulnerable self showed. Chi Cheng broke it once again. The walls he built were once again broken by the same man that showed him love and care, the same man that also caused him to build it again, only to be broken by him and HIM once again.
“I am not, Suo Wei… Please listen to me… I had a deal with my father. He told me that if I made the company he had built in the states successful, then he’ll leave us both alone… I didn’t want you to be hurt by my father, he’s capable of anything, so I agreed…” Chi Cheng grabbed onto Suo Wei’s hand, staring right into his eyes.
“But you left—you left when I needed you the most…”
“I know, it was wrong of me to do that… but if I were to see you like that, then I wouldn’t be able to leave. You do things to me, Suo Wei… You can hurt me, hit me, but please don’t push me away” Suo Wei stared right into Chi Cheng’s eyes, his bottom lip wobbling—he broke down.
“Wei Wei…” Chi Cheng says, his heart aching at the sobs that left Suo Wei’s lips.
He had caused so much pain in his Wei Wei’s heart.
…And he needs to patch it all up again.
“Chi Cheng… I don’t know, I need time…” Suo Wei says as Chi Cheng wipes away his tears. The older male smiled, nodding.
“Don’t worry, Suo Wei… I understand, I can wait for you even if it takes a week… a month, and even a year… I will wait for you” Chi Cheng caresses Suo Wei’s cheek, giving him assurance and comfort.
Suo Wei couldn’t help but smile a little, Chi Cheng understood his feelings and didn’t force him into forgiving him.
“I… I’ll get going now. See you, Chi Cheng” Suo Wei says and was about to leave when Chi Cheng grabbed his arm.
“Wait, Suo Wei… May I ask something?” The taller male says, smiling a little. He hums and lets him continue.
“Is he mine…?”
“...Yes…”
Chi Cheng drove home, thinking about what Suo Wei had told him. The kid he met on his first day back in his hometown, was his kid. He has a kid. With Suo Wei.
Chi Cheng can’t help but smile, imagining himself taking care of two of the important people in his life. He will do everything just so he can be with them sooner.
——
“Da Wei!” Xiao Shuai said as he stared at the scene in front of him. He hears footsteps and feels a presence behind him, he turns back and sees Suo Wei.
“What?” The smaller male asks, frowning.
“Why is Chi Cheng here and why is playing with Sihan?” The doctor pulls on Suo Wei’s shirt, which makes the other bend a little and he whispers the following words.
“Oh, I let him in”
“Why? Where was the ‘I will never let Chi Cheng near my child again’ Suo Wei?” Xiao Shuai says, crossing his arms.
“Sihan will eventually know about his other dad, I’m letting them get close so Sihan won’t feel distant with Chi Cheng” Suo Wei explains and Xiao Shuai scoffs.
“You’re planning on getting back with him?”
“...”
“I knew it,” Xiao Shuai chuckles, shaking his head.
“Oh, my fragile hearted friend… ” The doctor says and pats Suo Wei’s shoulders before leaving him alone. Suo Wei stood there, watching his son play around with Chi Cheng. Sihan had a big smile displayed on his face that also made him smile. Chi Cheng looked at him, smiling. He nods his head and the older male puts back his attention on the toddler.
“Why don’t you go and approach them and give them their snacks?” Xiao Shuai says and lightly pushes Suo Wei forward. He chuckled and approached the door, smiling wide.
“Hello, my boys! I got you guys some snacks, you two must be starving… Take a break, especially you, Chi Cheng” Suo Wei places the tray down on the small table and sits down with them.
“Yey! Is it my favorite, papa?”
“Is this my favorite snack?”
Sihan and Chi Cheng both said in unison, the small child gasping at the new information about his “uncle Chi”.
“Uncle Chi, is this your favorite too? It is Sihan’s favorite too!” Sihan says with a toothy smile, giggling as he hands Chi Cheng some of the snack.
“Yes, Xiao Han, it is uncle Chi’s favorite snack too” Chi Cheng chuckled, happily taking the snack. Suo Wei stared at them, smiling with love in his eyes. He never thought he’d see such a scene.
Before, he never imagined Chi Cheng in Sihan’s life after their separation—he thought it was ridiculous to think, because in his mind, Chi Cheng will never come back… But here he was, sitting in front of him while happily eating with his—their child.
He loves it. He wishes that it’ll stay as it is once he’s finally warmed up to Chi Cheng again.
“Papa, you will need to prepare more soon because it is uncle Chi’s favorite too!” Suo Wei nods at Sihan’s request, chuckling as he kisses his child’s cheek.
“Sihan, don’t finish it all, uncle Chi is still eating” Suo Wei says as he sees his child pick up the last piece of cookie.
“Then me and uncle Chi will share!” Sihan happily says and breaks the cookie into two pieces before handing it to Chi Cheng.
“Thank you, Sihan” Chi Cheng pats the small child’s head, chuckling.
“You’re welcome, uncle Chi!”
——
“Papa?” Suo Wei hummed as he looked at Sihan while he tucked him in bed.
“Is uncle Chi my dad?” The smaller male is startled at the question, did Chi Cheng tell him.
“Why, baby?”
“Some aunties asked uncle Chi if I was his son when he picked me up from school! They told uncle Chi that me and him look alike!” Sihan says in excitement—like he’s expecting his father to say yes to the question.
“Then let me ask you, Xiao Han… If uncle Chi is your dad, will you be happy?” This was a question that was bothering Suo Wei the whole week.
Will Sihan accept Chi Cheng as his father? Or will he still fall as his “uncle”?
“Hmm, if uncle Chi will be my dad… Then Sihan will be happy! I can tell my friends that I have two dads and they will be jealous!” Sihan says, giggling. Suo Wei’s heart felt full, that was the answer he wanted. For Sihan to accept his dad despite what happened.
“Okay, baby… You need to go to sleep now, you still have classes tomorrow” Suo Wei places a kiss on Sihan’s forehead, smiling.
“Will uncle Chi pick me up?” Sihan asks, looking at Suo Wei with his doe eyes. He chuckled and nodded.
“I’ll tell uncle Chi to pick you up… Good night, baby”
“Yey! Good night, papa”
——
“Will you tell Sihan about his uncle Chi being his real dad?” Cheng Yu asks as they sit by, watching Chi Cheng play tag with Sihan.
“I’m planning on telling him, don’t worry” Suo Wei smiled and watched them with loving eyes. Cheng Yu chuckled, shaking his head.
“Chi Cheng…” Suo Wei says as Chi Cheng walks beside him, carrying an asleep Sihan.
“Yes?” Chi Cheng says, rubbing Sihan’s back to soothe him as he felt him move.
“Thank you”
“For what?” The taller male asks, chuckling at the random words Suo Wei is saying. In fact, it should be him that should be thankful because despite what happened, Suo Wei was still trusting him with being with their child.
“I should be the one thankful, Wei Wei… You let me be in Sihan’s life despite what happened” Chi Cheng chuckled, smiling.
“I think I’m ready” Suo Wei looked right into Chi Cheng’s eyes, stopping in his tracks. The taller male does the same, frowning.
“I’m ready to love you again…”
1 month later…
“Something changed, I can see it,” Xiao Shuai says, staring at both Suo Wei and Chi Cheng with suspicion. How did he come up with such a conclusion? The two were flirting right in front of them.
“I know, it’s so obvious” Cheng Yu says, his jaw dropping as a scene unfolds in front of them. The two kissed.
“What the fuck!”
They said in unison, startling the two.
“Xiao Shuai, not in front of my kid!” Suo Wei scolds, glaring.
“Tell me” Xiao Shuai squints his eyes, grabbing Suo Wei to the side.
“Okay, we’re dating again” Suo Wei says, chuckling.
“And Sihan?”
“He knows now… But I haven’t told him yet”
“Tell him”
“Papa, if you and uncle Chi are like uncle Shuai and uncle Gyu… Does that make uncle Chi my dad now?” Sihan giggled as he hugged his father in bed.
“Well, uncle Chi is really your dad, my love… Remember when I used to tell you about your dad being somewhere and he’ll come eventually… Uncle Chi is him, he is your other dad, Xiao Han” Sihan gasps, sitting up in bed and looking at his father with wide eyes.
“Then I can finally call uncle Chi dad?”
“Were you planning to?” Suo Wei says, laughing.
“Yes! I always wanted to call uncle Chi as dad!” Sihan said and stood up on the bed, jumping in excitement.
“Xiao Han, be careful” Suo Wei warns but the child was too happy to hear him. Despite that, Suo Wei watches his child with a big smile on his face.
“Yay! I finally have a complete family!”
“Dad?” Chi Cheng looked up and frowned. Was Sihan looking for Suo Wei? But from what he remembered, Sihan calls Suo Wei as papa… Does that mean?
“Your dad is not around, Xiao Han… He’ll be back later—”
“No, you’re dad” Sihan points at him, smiling wide.
“What? Can you repeat that?” Maybe he’s imagining things?
“You’re dad… You’re my dad!” Sihan happily says and hugs Chi Cheng, letting out giggles.
Chi Cheng looked up as he heard the door open and in walked Suo Wei.
“Papa! Come here, hug dad with me!” Sihan says, looking back and spreading his arms for Suo Wei to join. The smaller male chuckled and joined them. As Chi Cheng finally processed what was happening, he was quick to hug both of them. Suo Wei smiled and hugged back.
“Thank you for accepting me again… I love you both. I will make sure to take care and love you two with all my heart… My two worlds.”
