Chapter Text

When they were allowed to walk into their suite at the Imperial Hotel, Julia couldn't help her mouth dropping open in surprise at the living room, along with their view of Tokyo. She looked back at Mari and saw she had the same expression on her face. She then turned her attention to her father who was tipping the bellman leaving their suitcases before they were alone with her parents. "Thank you," she said seriously.
"You like it?" Castle asked her with a smile.
"Yeah it's… huge," Julia said in amazement. She then realized there were two beds but did her best not to react to that before she turned back to her parents. "Are we still going swimming?" she asked.
"Unless you and the other kids changed their minds, yes," Beckett said, smiling since she was watching Mari going to one of the windows that were lighting the suite.
"Julia's right, thanks so much," the girl said, turning to the writers. "It's perfect."
"When I said it had a table…" Castle said slowly.
"We talked about that," Julia was quick to reassure him. "And we said if it was a coffee table in the end we'd be eating kind of like they do here."
Smiling Castle said, "Great, but that's in two days so tonight we're all eating together."
"We know Dad," Julia said laughingly.
"We're going to go now," Beckett said, looking at her husband pointedly. "So unpack and we'll be back to pick you up to head to the pool."
Juila nodded before she was thanking her parents for the suite, Mari saying the same. She walked with them to the door before she and Mari told them goodbye and she locked the door after they were outside. She smiled at her girlfriend when she turned to her and said, "I wasn't expecting this."
"Me neither," Mari said, waiting until the teen had walked up to her. She then threw her arms around her neck and said excitedly, "We're finally here!"
Julia couldn't help laughing while she was hugging her girlfriend back and said, "I know, it seems like we've been talking about it for a year." When they let each other go eventually she said, "We better unpack and change."
"True," Mari said, nodding her head before they were moving to the bedroom. As they were opening their suitcases on top of one of the beds she paused and asked, "Do you want your own bed?"
"No," Julia said firmly. "I'm fine sharing with you."
"Me too," Mari said, feeling her cheeks flushing a little. She then said, "Have you heard from the others?"
"No, I get the feeling they're too busy," Julia answered, taking the first of her clothes to the closet. She picked out what she needed for the days they'd be there in the city before she said, "They could even be here already."
"I hope so," Mari replied. She couldn't help giggling when her girlfriend looked at her in confusion and said, "They told me in e-mails they wanted to see you."
"I'm not surprised," Julia replied. She turned her attention to putting everything she needed for Tokyo away and when she finished, along with changing for the swimming pool, she went to one of the windows.
"Are you okay?" Mari asked, finishing herself and moving to join her.
"Yeah, it seems crazy we're here though," Julia said.
Mari couldn't help wrinkling her nose a little in confusion before she asked, "In Japan or this suite?"
"Both," Julia replied before they were laughing together. When she had calmed down she asked, "We have time before my parents come to pick us up, what do you want to do?"
"Watch TV?" Mari asked.
"Me too," Julia said before they were smiling at each other and hurrying to the living room at the same time.
"I know what you're thinking."
"You're assuming," Beckett told her husband teasingly.
"Not after this many years together," Castle retorted though his tone was the same as hers.
Beckett smiled before she asked, "Is there another bedroom?"
"With two beds," Castle replied. "And I honestly did try to get someone to take it but they were very adamant about not doing that."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said. "And as long as you asked that's fine."
"Great, so, should we unpack?" Castle asked.
"Sure, but there's something I would like to know," Beckett told him as they moved to the bed where they'd placed their suitcases.
"Okay," Castle replied.
"Is this the best suite this hotel has?" Beckett asked.
"No, that's the Frank Lloyd Wright one, but someone reserved it already," Castle said.
"I remember," Beckett told him with a nod. "And I prefer this one."
"Me too," Castle replied before he moved to open his suitcase.
After she had taken out her things, Beckett looked over at her husband and said with a smile, "A week?"
"We have the time," Castle replied. "And according to Skye we have the places to go." He then became a little serious and asked, "Have you heard from her?"
Beckett couldn't help smiling again and said, "She texted and they're here, they'll meet us at the pool."
"Right, we better change," Castle said before they were moving to get their things for the pool. They changed quickly and since he was finished first he got his wife's bag ready with what else they needed. "Set?" he asked her.
"I am," Beckett said a little absently since she was looking through the bag her husband was still holding. "We are," she then added more firmly, looking up at him.
"Now I'm going to think you don't trust me," Castle told her teasingly.
Shaking her head, Beckett reached up to him and kissed his lips gently before they were moving to leave.
"Wait," Castle told her as he paused before he was closing the door fully. "Did you want to see the rest of the suite?"
"Before dinner," Beckett said firmly. "I'd rather see the pool."
"Me too," a voice said down the hall. Skye smiled at the writers when they turned to herself and her wife and said, "Surprise."
"I think we remembered you two were on this floor," Castle said, closing the door to their suite. "Settled in?"
"We are," Mary answered. "And they're coming in after we get there."
"They want to surprise the kids?" Beckett guessed. She smiled when both women were nodding and said, "Then we better get them," before they were heading to the elevator. Once they were on the floor the girls' suite was at she went on her own to the door. She knocked and waited for her daughter to open the door when she said, "Hello, are you ready to swim?"
"Definitely," both said at the same time.
Sharing a smile with her girlfriend, Julia let Mari head out first before she made sure she had one of the room keys and closed the door quickly. "How's your suite?" she asked her mother while they were making their way to the elevators.
"Nice, but we were focused more on unpacking and getting ready," Beckett said.
"We did," Julia said with a smile since her mother was looking at her pointedly. "But we had a little extra time so we watched TV."
"How was that?" Castle asked since the three were near enough for him to hear that.
"Interesting," Mari said first.
Skye couldn't help laughing and said, "You found a game show didn't you?"
"We did, but we weren't watching it for that long before we changed it," Julia said.
Nodding in agreement to that, Mari added, "And then we were watching a cartoon, I mean anime right now."
"Which?" Mary asked.
"We don't know, we never heard the name," Julia said. "And we know some of the anime shows there are."
"This wasn't one of them," Mari added, her girlfriend nodding in response. The elevator was starting down at that point and she said, "Will the others meet us at the pool?"
"They will," Beckett assured her before they were stepping out of the car since it had stopped. They were able to find the pool easily since a few others in their group were walking towards it as well.
Once everyone was together they were getting lounge chairs and then taking off their coverups before they were pausing when they heard a large group walking to the entrance of the room.
"Paul!" Julia couldn't help crying out in joy when she saw him entering the room first.
"Hello Julia," the singer said with a smile as she hurried to him. He embraced her tightly while she was doing the same to him and said, "Alright?"
"I am," Julia said, nodding her head and looking up at him. She smiled and said, "Just fine," before she turned to Nancy who was next to her husband. She then found herself being embraced by all four of Stella and Alasdhair's kids while she was laughing. "I'm fine, really," she told them when they were letting her go.
"We were worried," Miller explained.
"Really worried," Reiley said insistently, hugging Julia again. "Were you scared?"
"Sure, but I was trying to keep calm so I could go home," Julia replied with a shrug before she turned to Stella who was stepping up to her. She hugged the designer and Alasdhair before she laughed when the three members of Queen were hugging her. Brian's and Roger's wives were there as well and she embraced them before turning to Adam last.
"Well dance partner," the singer said with a smile. He wasn't surprised when she was hugging him in response and he was doing the same before he said, "I hope we'll still be partners."
"Of course, I pinkie promised remember," Julia said in feigned protest and smiling at the same time.
"Well, I thought you'd want to ask your girlfriend now if it's okay," Adam said jokingly.
"You don't like we're dating?" Julia asked in the same tone before she reached for Mari near her who was blushing deeply.
"Oh no, I'm glad you finally are," Adam assured her.
"Me too," Bailey said. She smiled when then two were looking at her in surprise and said, "I had a feeling you two might like one another."
"Me too," Reiley said.
"So did I," Skye said, looking at Paul.
"Alright, alright," the singer said, pretending to sound annoyed. "I owe you some quid," he added before they were laughing. "If you're wondering I asked her if those two had something between them," Paul told the others.
"And I said maybe and he bet me some quid and I told him he didn't have it," Skye said. "All joking of course," she said before they were laughing again.
"Are you here to swim too?" Eliza asked Brian.
"I'm afraid I'm not really dressed for it," the guitarist said.
"Neither am I," Adam said.
"Why not?" Julia asked with a smile.
"We just came in from playing a little," Adam explained.
"Very little, I didn't even have my drums," Roger said in mock complaint.
"Our neighbors might have appreciated that," Brian's wife said. "It was in our suite," she added before the kids were laughing.
"Do you mind if we hang around with you?" Adam asked the other Americans.
"Not at all, we're heading out though for dinner," Skye said.
"You decided on that?" Paul asked.
"We did," Skye said. She smiled and then said, "And your decision?"
"We're coming with," Paul said firmly before he laughed when Julia was launching herself at him.
"With us," Miller added. "Since Mum and Dad are heading back to England after Disneyland."
"We had to stay for that," Alasdhair said. "Though while you're here in the city I need to speak with the local office for Adidas one day. But just a lunch meeting and then I'm free."
"He promised you?" Beckett asked Stella since she'd been watching the designer.
"He did, though to be honest I didn't ask since I know it's important," she answered. "When were you going to head out for dinner? And what's for dinner?"
"I took care of it," Skye said. She smiled when Paul looked at her immediately and nodded saying, "They're still open."
"Fantastic," Paul replied before he then turned to the kids. "Go ahead and swim."
"He's right, we're heading out at six and we have two and a half hours," Skye said before the kids were rushing to show the Willis kids where they could leave their coverups.
Watching the kids heading in, Beckett turned to Stella who had touched her arm. "I'm okay too," she assured the woman with a slight smile.
"I just wanted to make sure, we've only been talking through e-mails and texts lately," the designer replied. "And Julia's been doing okay since then?"
"Mari's been a big help," Beckett said while she nodded her head.
"I'm glad to hear that," Rebecca said with a smile since she was walking up to them. "Josie's asking to go in the pool," she then told her friend.
"I better take her," Beckett said with a smile to the two other women before she was moving around the pool.
"Hi Mommy!" Josie said eagerly when she saw her mother reaching her and her father. "Daddy's showing me the city."
"She wanted to see it," Castle said quickly since there were windows looking out on it at the pool.
"So did you," Beckett replied.
"We might have been here before but still, I wanted to see it," Castle said, pretending to be annoyed. He smiled when Josie kissed his cheek before he said, "But she does want to swim."
"So do I," Beckett said before she was holding her arms out to their youngest. She wasn't surprised when Josie was shaking her head and she nodded to Castle so he could put her down.
"You know," Julia was telling the Willis kids while they were holding onto the side of the pool in the deep end. "If you want to ask me about what happened, that's fine," she said.
"Mum and Dad told us not to," Bobby said, looking at his younger sister.
"I was just wondering," Reiley said defensively. She then added, "Sorry," to the teen.
Shaking her head Julia said, "I'd be curious too. But there isn't really much to say about it that I didn't tell you. I don't like to go into detail about it." She smiled a little at Mari when her girlfriend was nudging her leg gently.
"What about you two?" Bailey asked.
"What about us?" Mari asked quickly, glad the subject had been changed.
"How's your relationship been going?" Bailey inquired with a smile.
"Great," Mari said quickly.
"She's right, we've had dates and everything so we've been having a nice time," Julia said.
"Snogging?" Bobby asked jokingly before he couldn't help laughing at the way his siblings were groaning his name in dismay.
"Don't worry," Julia said quickly. "I've been expecting to be asked that," she then explained, not surprised when Mari was nodding in agreement.
"What about arguments?" Miller asked, getting the feeling they weren't going to answer his brother's question.
"I was sorry to hear about you and your ex," Julia said seriously to him.
Shrugging Miller said, "I should have realized that thing about her parents was just for show." He then said, "I'm going to take a break." He heard his siblings snorting slightly and said, "Mum made me promise not to find a Japanese girl. They want me to stay in England."
"And me, they asked me too," Bobby said quickly before they were looking at each other and then breaking up into laughter.
"I'm so glad you're coming with us," Julia said. "Through the rest of the country. Paul too."
"Mum and Aunt Mary asked Grandude about that," Bobby replied, smiling.
"He said he did want to travel with us too," Reiley added. "So he had the tour end this time here."
"When does he start the next one?" Jacob asked.
"Probably next year," Miller said, his siblings nodding in agreement. "So he's free to come with."
"Does he know about the onsen we're going to?" Julia asked.
"Yeah, he and Nancy are going to stay with the grandparents here," Bailey answered. "So we're going with you."
"Oh good, you guys can get yukatas," Eve told them.
"What's that?" Miller asked.
"They're the robes people wear to the onsen," Kathleen answered.
"Summer kimonos," Julia added. "They're lighter."
"Oh… think Mum and Dad would let us?" Reiley asked her sister eagerly.
"Mum would," Bailey said, nodding her head.
"I'm going to ask now," Reiley said, swimming away from them.
"You're not going to stop her?" Bobby asked.
"I don't think I really could," Bailey said in obvious amusement. She then studied her two brothers and asked, "Are you two going to get them?"
"Men wear them," Marie said quickly.
"Well, it would be nice to have one at the onsen," Miller said.
"Yeah, I mean if the adults will get them," Bobby added. "You're getting them tonight?"
"Yeah, how'd you guess?" Julia asked with a smile.
"Just a guess to be honest," Bobby said. When the teen gave him a look he couldn't help laughing before he said, "No, you said summer robes so I figured the younger kids asked for the robes now."
"They did," Julia said, nodding. She then said, "I hope we can find them, I'd love to be able to wear them."
After they had swum back to the deep end of the pool, Reiley was returning to them and said, "They said yes, and they're going to get some too."
"Great, but that's not until after dinner," Miller said jokingly at his sister's tone. He laughed when she stuck her tongue out at him and did the same before he was going under the water and swimming away.
Watching as they were gradually left alone, Mari said, "I'm surprised they didn't ask about Phillipa and Mia."
"I think they were told about them already," Julia said, glancing at the two. She then turned her attention back to her girlfriend and said, "Race?"
"No," Mari said in a mock stern tone. She and Julia were smiling at each other before they were soon ducking under the water and making their way to their friends at the other end of the pool.
"I hope this place isn't too small," Castle told his wife.
"Skye knows it," Beckett reminded him, stepping out into the bedroom. She smiled and then said, "And it has vegetarian." Something came to mind then and she asked, "Do you need to change any plans for food?"
Shaking his head as he watched his wife picking up her purse off the desk in their bedroom, Castle said, "Skye warned me the McCartneys might be coming past Tokyo and they would need vegetarian options."
"And when we go out to the more rural areas?" Beckett asked.
"She said she and Mary can get them vegetarian food," Castle said.
"Then we're set," Beckett told him teasingly.
"Great," Castle said, jumping up. "I'm starving."
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said in amusement before he leaned into her. Since she was hoping he would do that she took his kiss before they were holding onto each other tightly. She groaned briefly when she felt her purse hitting her leg as it fell but didn't stop since her husband was caressing her tongue with his own. They did that for a while before they were parting and she said, "Someone's going to say something." She couldn't help laughing when her husband was reaching up to touch his lips and said, "I know, but we need to go."
"Right now," Castle said firmly before they were walking out to the door.
Outside in the hall Beckett saw the McDouglases were stepping into the hall from their suite and she waved. "How far is this place?" she asked when they had reached the two women.
"Nearly fifteen minutes… unless there's a lot of traffic," Skye answered first.
"And we don't get to know what this is?" Castle asked her.
"No," Skye said firmly.
"Actually I have no idea where we're going either," Mary commented as they were going to the elevators. "Only the stores where the yukatas are."
"Why?" Castle asked, trying not to laugh at the way the doctor was looking at her wife.
"Ask her," Mary said.
"She's been there, that's all I've told her," Skye said, fighting a smile then. She then said, "And we'll see soon enough remember."
Laughing together the four went down to the floor where they got Julia and Mari and then went to the lobby. After the group was entirely together they went to their cars and split up until they were near the stores.
"Luckily it's not raining," Castle said, looking outside once he'd turned off their cars.
"Don't jinx it," Darnley said, having gone in the car to allow Stella and Alasdhair to go together in the one he and his husband had rented.
"I'm not," Castle said. He saw the way the carpenter was looking at him and said, "I know already it's not supposed to while we're here in Tokyo."
"At least there's that," Darnley replied before they were getting out to gather together.
"Okay," Skye said once she had the other adults' attention. "I know you're wondering about the public transportation but we'll use it after today. Since we're going to go a little further I thought it'd be better to drive."
"I think we need to go," Lily said in amusement. "The kids are hungry."
"And you're curious aren't you?" Skye asked the chef jokingly.
"Very," Lily said in a dead pan tone before they were laughing and then following the investigator.
"Wait, here?" Fox asked once Skye was stopping.
"We'll fit, we might fill the place but we'll fit," the investigator assured them all.
"I guess it works that Queen didn't come with us," David couldn't help saying. "What? I'm not glad but it helps in this case," he said when he saw the way his wife was looking at him.
"Come on," Rebecca said laughingly before taking his hand.
Though it took a little to get them all seated, the group was eventually at booths before they were looking at the vegetarian menu.
"So what will you get?" Reiley asked Julia and Mari who were sitting with her and Bobby.
"I guess the tomato one," the former said, looking at hers and Mari's menu. She then said, "Is that okay with you?"
"Yeah, should be good," Mari said, seeing the okonomiyaki had tomatoes, cheese and Japanese basil. "But what's that?" she asked, pointing to the last ingredient.
"Here," Bobby said, holding out his phone.
Looking at the picture, Mari nodded and said, "I hope it's like the basil we use."
"Probably," Bobby said, his sister nodding in agreement next to him. He took his phone back before he saw someone was approaching their table.
"Did you guys choose?" Skye asked.
"Yeah, are you going to order for us?" Reiley inquired.
"Of course, it'll help things go a lot faster," Skye said. She smiled and then added, "There are a lot of us."
"Thanks," Julia said, not surprised the three with her were echoing her. When a worker came over she smiled listening Skye speaking rapidly in Japanese to the man before she was moving to another table. She could hear the conversations and said with a smile to the others, "I think we're all getting the same thing."
"Well, it is recommended," Bobby said with a smile before they began to laugh. "But I guess that's a good idea, to let everyone know it is."
"You don't mind eating vegetarian for the vacation do you?" Reiley asked.
"No," Julia said slowly, looking over at Bobby.
"Sorry, Mum and Dad said we should let you guys eat non-veggie sometimes," he said.
"We can eat veggie, it's not hard," Mari said.
"Not all at once," Reiley said.
"We'll have to see," Julia commented. "I bet your parents will tell mine… and the others." She smiled when the Willis kids were laughing before they were turning their attention to a cook who was coming to their table. She got her camera and took pictures while he was making both their okonomiyaki until they had their plates. "Looks good," she said to Mari.
Nodding the girl said, "Better than the pictures on the menu."
"Yeah, I can't wait to try ours," Reiley said when the two girls were looking across the table at her and her brother before they began to eat.
"Hold on sweetie," Beckett told Josie when she was trying to reach over to their plate. "I need to cut it so it'll get cool," she explained at the look the toddler was giving her.
"Does that take a long time?" Josie asked.
"It shouldn't," Beckett said, fighting her amusement since the toddler sounded disappointed. She then focused on cutting the omelet before she gently pulled back Josie's hand.
"Are you sure the three of us shouldn't have shared one?" Castle asked.
"You would have had a small piece," Beckett said.
"And you do eat a lot more than we do," Skye commented. She smiled when the three across the table looked at her and told them, "That's not an insult, just an observation."
Nodding, Castle then said, "Do you know enough places for the kids to eat at now?"
"I do," Skye replied. "Though I spoke with Stella and Alasdhair while we were still at the pool. We can eat meat if we choose, but the six of them would want to be away from us when we do that. I told them it's easily done and they didn't need to worry. I had to reassure Paul and Nancy about that but I don't think we'll eat meat every night."
"If it's like this it wouldn't be a problem," Castle said, having eaten a bite of his omelet.
"You don't remember these when we were here last time?" Mary asked in amusement.
"I do, but that was… years ago," Castle said, looking at his wife.
"Do you want to change the hotel in-" Skye started to ask with a frown.
"No, I told you we're fine staying there again," Castle said quickly. "All of us."
"He's right," Beckett said, not surprised when the investigator was looking at her. "And Julia is too." She then asked slowly, "Do you think she'd have a problem with that?"
"No, she's doing really well," Mary said, glancing over at the booth the teen they were discussing was sitting in. She saw her laughing with the other three and then said, "Which is sort of a surprise."
"Sort of?" Castle asked, catching on to that quickly.
"She remembers a lot of Queens, doesn't she?" Skye asked in Irish, looking down at Josie who was eating and not seeming to pay attention to their discussion.
"She does, she always has," Beckett said. "But she seemed to be able to compartmentalize it. At that age."
"That's due to you," Skye said firmly. "So talk to her if she ever needs it."
Nodding, Beckett said, "I will."
"Skye?" Josie then asked, looking up at her.
"Yes?" Skye responded with a smile.
"Are we going to have dessert?" Josie asked, a little startled when the adults with her were all laughing softly. "What did I say?" she told her parents.
"Nothing," Castle replied, squeezing her hand gently. "But that you need to ask all of us."
"Are we?" Josie directed to him.
"We will, we're not sure yet, but something," Beckett said before she looked back at the investigator.
Shaking her head while she was smiling, Skye said, "To be honest this is just a guess on if the stall is still there but we know a taiyaki one that has the best red bean paste filled ones."
"We're hoping it's still there," Mary added.
"It should be, if it's as good as it was still," Skye said before they were finishing their meal.
"When do we go?" Josie asked.
"Soon," Beckett answered before the women across from them could speak. She urged Josie to finish her juice before they were paying for the meals and leaving the restaurant.
"I hope that was enjoyable," Skye said, speaking to the McCartneys and Alasdhair.
"Yeah, you can't go wrong with omelets," Paul said jokingly. "So now on to shopping?"
"Now you don't want to go?" Nancy asked with a smile.
"Oh no, I do," Paul said, smiling as well. He then looked at the younger kids and asked, "If you're confused when I was here before… with the other boys." He waited until most of them were nodding before he continued saying, "We couldn't go shopping, they had to bring things to us."
"Oh, we should go shopping right now," Dani said seriously.
"And we are, don't worry," Rebecca assured her youngest.
After they walked back to the area where their cars were, the group then split up to go to the other stores before they would regroup to look for the yukatas.
"Are you both getting robes?" Bailey asked her grandfather and Nancy.
"That's the plan," Paul said. "Though Mari, you'll be with us right?"
Immediately blushing, the girl nodded before she said, "Wouldn't Stella be better to ask?"
"I hope you'll help me," Julia told her girlfriend.
"I will," Mari said, still blushing.
"Well, just advice," Paul told her.
"Okay, that I can do," Mari said with a smile. She then looked around while the others were walking further into the store before she said to her girlfriend, "Anything you want here?"
"I'm not sure," Julia said slowly. She then shook herself and said, "No, there is something I'm going to get."
"What?" Mari asked, startled at her tone of voice.
Smiling Julia said, "A fan, for you."
Biting her lower lip for a moment, Mari said, "You don't have to do that."
"Oh no, I do," Julia said. "You said you wanted one and this is going to be your first birthday gift from me." She held up her hand before her girlfriend could respond and said, "No, I'm getting it. Pick one and I'll buy it."
Though she wanted to protest again, Mari nodded and made her way to the fans in the store. She looked over them until she opened one and studied it before she said, "Alright, this one."
"Good," Julia said. She smiled at her girlfriend's surprise when she spotted the fan in her hand and said, "I want one too."
"Thanks," Mari said since the teen was taking the fan she held. She walked with her to the registers and after she was soon paying before they were moving to the entrance where the others were waiting.
"Done?" Paul asked.
"Yeah, is that it?" Julia said, looking out on the street.
"You don't want to look at more stores?" Reiley asked in surprise.
"We want to get our robes," Mari explained.
"Then we should go see if the others are ready too," Nancy said before they were stepping out onto the street.
Julia was relieved when the others were all saying they were ready as well before they were moving to walk to the store. She was surprised at how it was before she thought of something and hurried to her mother. "Mom," she said once she'd reached her. "What if I want two robes?"
Smiling, Beckett said, "You're going to have to make a choice. You don't need two of them."
Julia opened her mouth to protest before she paused and then said, "Alright, but if I can afford one I'll buy it myself."
"I would wait before deciding that," Castle said, walking over to them. "We have a little more than two months left of the vacation."
Opening her mouth for a moment, Julia paused and then said, "Alright, I guess I'll just get one," before she was leaving them.
Watching her going to Mari, Castle told his wife, "She probably could buy one on her own, but I think she'll be better off saving her money."
"I would have told her the same," Beckett replied, smiling. "I'm going to help Josie with her robe."
"Mind if I go with you?" Castle asked.
"No," Beckett said before she was taking Josie's hand and going to the section that had kids' sizes. Looking at the different fabrics she told her husband, "I'm a little worried how long this is going to take."
"Well," Castle said slowly while he was looking at his watch. "I think we might be able to manage to make it for dessert."
"For her?" Beckett reminded him, nodding to Josie.
Castle was about to speak before he then quickly said, "You have a point, then should we tell her to go faster?"
"That would help," Beckett said before they were looking at Josie who was holding a robe in her arms. "Do you want that one?" she asked.
"Yeah," Josie said happily, squeezing the dark blue fabric with phoenixes and flowers on it. She then stopped and asked worriedly, "Can I get it?"
"Once you try it on," Beckett told her with a smile before she took it from the toddler and held it out for her.
"I think it fits," Castle said since Josie was hugging the robe around her.
"It does," Beckett replied. "Are you sure?" she asked their youngest.
"Yeah, I like it," Josie said with a wide smile. "Where do we go now?"
"We need to find some robes for us," Castle said.
"Do you want to go with your grandparents?" Beckett asked her.
Smiling Josie shook her head and said, "I want to go with you."
"Okay then we better go now so we can have dessert," Castle said, not surprised when the toddler was squealing eagerly as they made their way to the second floor of the store and the options for men and women.
"I think my robe looks great," Eve said to the others. "But are you guys going to wear yours soon?"
"Probably in the hotel room," Clive said.
"Me too," Peter said, nodding.
"How did you get permission to stay in the same room?" Miller asked him.
"We're not alone," Peter said swiftly. "And we're not sharing a bed."
"What? We've done that since before we were together," Julia said since her dancing partner was looking at her while he'd said the end.
"And we had to promise we wouldn't do anything grown up," Mari said. "Which is weird."
Smiling, Jacob said, "Not really, you're getting older. But yeah, at least you two can be in the same suite."
"How is it?" Bailey asked.
"Not bad, we all get a bed so you can't complain," Jacob said.
"They're all in the same room?" Reiley asked.
"No," Eve said with a laugh. "Two in each room but we're not sharing the rooms either." She wasn't surprised when the others were looking at her and said, mostly to the Willis kids, "We're not, we had to promise that."
"Not easy but we did in the end," Peter said in a complaining tone.
"I wouldn't say that around Eve's parents," Isaac said, walking over to them. "Or your own Peter." He smiled when his son pretended to mumble in annoyance and said, "They're almost ready so come grab your fish."
Walking over with the other kids, they were shortly after reaching the window and took their taiyaki before they were moving back to the benches they'd been sitting on before.
"Oh, this is good," Clive said first after taking a bite.
"Really," Peter said in agreement.
"I wish these were bigger," Jacob said, looking at his dessert.
"You're not full from dinner?" Bobby asked him with a smile.
"Okay, a little," Jacob said before they were laughing together.
"So what do you guys think about the first day of vacation?" Mari eventually asked when they were nearly finished.
"Fun, but what are we doing tomorrow?" Reiley asked.
"Well, you know the concert is tomorrow night," Julia said with a wide smile.
"Yeah, and Queen is two nights after, and?" Bobby said.
"You have to ask my dad about what we're going to do during the day," Julia said, watching him walking over.
"I'm going to say right now," Castle assured her with a smile. "Though I wasn't planning all of this alone."
"No, but you know how to sell it," Skye said. She couldn't help laughing when the writers were looking at her in confusion and said, "Sorry, but you've volunteered."
"Yeah," Castle said with a slight frown before he was smiling briefly and shaking his head. Turning his attention back to the others he told them, "We're going to the Imperial Palace, the gardens there, and then the museum that's there too. After I think you said the place for lunch?"
"Yes, the Tokyo International Forum," Skye replied. She smiled when hers and Mary's daughters gasped in response and told them, "Don't say anything."
"We won't, will we get to shop there?" Marie asked.
"If the others want to," Mary answered.
"I think we will," Stella said with a smile when some of the kids were looking at their parents hopefully, including her daughters. "What time do you need to be at rehearsal?" she asked her father.
"After lunch, and I'm hoping you two will go with us," Paul said.
"We will," Mary said before her wife could respond.
"Are you sure-" Skye started to say with a frown on her face.
"I am," Paul said. "It's the last night of the tour and we'll make it special. Same for the Queen concert, they want me to make sure you're going since they'll be there tomorrow night."
"I'm surprised they doing that," Fox couldn't help saying.
"We have a kind of agreement," Paul said with a smile. "I'm going to theirs if Skye and Mary will go."
"Yes we're going," the investigator said before her wife could speak, exaggerating her voice as much as possible. When the others had stopped laughing she said, "Then I'm not sure what you'll do after the shopping."
"I think the kids should be okay if we go to the pool again," Brad commented.
"I hope so," Genevieve added before all of the kids were protesting and the adults were soon laughing again before they calmed down the younger ones to finish their dessert.
"I know you're right behind me," Julia said with a smile as she closed her suitcase.
"I want to see what you got for your yukata," Mari protested.
"And you will, but I have it somewhere else," Julia replied.
"Oh yeah? Where?" Mari asked.
Smiling widely Julia said, "With my mom, she's keeping it for me until the night we eat together."
"Oh, so is mine," Mari said before they began laughing at the same time. When they had stopped she said, "I can't wait to show it to you." She then made a face and asked, "Did your mom tell you to wear clothes under it?" startled at how red her girlfriend's face became.
"She was saying if I took a shower or bath or something once I have it to make sure I put on clothes," Julia said, walking over to the side of the bed they weren't using. Sitting there she said, "I guess that's the grownup stuff they don't want us to do."
"Yeah, but I wouldn't even think of that," Mari said. She paused and then said, "Wait a minute-"
"We won't be by ourselves at the onsen," Julia interrupted her, a smile spreading over her face. "I thought of that too and Mom told me that. So I guess the by ourselves part is the bad part… of the adult bad parts."
"Stop saying bad part," Mari said in mock annoyance before she was throwing her arms around her girlfriend. After they'd let each other go they were getting up and walking to their bed before she said, "You're excited about what we're doing in the day right? We've been to the gardens already."
"Definitely, since now we're going to be there in another season," Julia reminded her. "It should be really pretty then too… I mean now."
"Do we need to go to sleep?" Mari asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready, but I wish we could stay up," Julia answered.
"Me too," Mari said earnestly before they were moving to pull down the sheets of the bed. She looked at the windows across from it and asked, "We couldn't uncover the one right in front of us? We are facing west."
Julia was about to say no before she quickly stopped herself and instead told her, "You don't think the lights would be annoying?"
"No, I want to see Tokyo while we fall asleep," Mari said firmly.
"Alright," Julia said with a smile before they were moving together to the window to move the curtains.
Once they could see the city Mari told her girlfriend, "See? It's not that bad."
"No, but do you think our parents wouldn't like this?" Julia said. Before Mari could respond she said, "Well, I guess if it wakes us up in the morning we're going to have to keep the curtains closed."
"I'll do that, but I bet we'll be fine," Mari said with a nod. She then looked at the bed before turning to her girlfriend and hugging her as tightly as she could. "Night Julia," she said.
"Goodnight Mari," the teen replied before leaning back. Seeing the way her girlfriend was slightly nibbling her lower lip she leaned into her and gave her a quick kiss, not surprised Mari was responding. Without another word, they took each other's hands and made their way to the bed to get some rest for the next day.
"It's a beautiful robe," Harrington said, watching her girlfriend. "You're not going to wear it?"
Fox glanced over at her and said with a smile, "Do you want me to?"
"Just for a little," Harrington said before she realized what she'd said. She paused and then told her in a rush, "I didn't mean-"
"It's okay," Fox said slightly laughingly, holding her hand out to her. "I know what you meant and I think I'm going to save it for a couple of nights from now."
"Tired?" Harrington asked.
"Yeah, I didn't think I'd be wiped out after sleeping how we did but I am," Fox said.
"You said you haven't traveled internationally for years," Harrington said before the smile fell off her face. "Were you okay-" she started to ask.
"I was," Fox interrupted to assure her. She took her girlfriend's hands and said, "Skye and Mary spoke with me at the airport, they heard about my parents from Kate. So they talked to me about the safety of flying but I assured them my parents would have been incredibly sad if I never stepped foot on a plane again."
"Because of their love for planes," Harrington said. When her girlfriend nodded she hugged her tightly and told her, "I'm so glad you're alright. But I should have remembered."
"I'm glad you didn't," Fox said firmly. At her girlfriend's questioning look she smiled and said, "It is a vacation remember, I want you to relax."
"And I want you to too," Harrington said. "You are off of course."
"I am, don't worry," Fox said. "We better get some sleep," she then said, looking over at the clock near them on the nightstand. "I get the feeling we're going to be doing a lot of walking tomorrow," she added.
"We will," Harrington replied before she was standing up. She took off her robe and then said, "But there is a pay off."
"There is," Fox said, smiling. "The concert… I can't wait."
"Neither can I," Harrington said, moving to follow her girlfriend onto the bed. When they were settled with the lights off she said, "Though… I have to say something about the morning."
"What about it?" Fox asked interestedly since they were meeting a little later in the morning with everyone else.
"The tub," Harrington said simply. She was soon crying out in surprise when her girlfriend was moving to kiss her cheeks repeatedly and laughing before she was responding eagerly when their lips found each other. "So does that mean we'll try?" she asked when they'd stopped, panting a little.
"I hope so," Fox said firmly before they were kissing again. When they'd parted that time she pressed her forehead to her girlfriend's and told her seriously, "I love you Mia."
"Hmm, I love you Philippa, I can't wait for us to really start this trip," Harrington replied with a smile.
"I just remembered," Fox said. "Our first trip internationally together, never mind my first."
Harrington couldn't help laughing before she said, "You're right, though it is our second vacation. Don't," gently covering her girlfriend's lips with her fingers as she was beginning to speak. "I know that you have a job, so do I and we needed to focus on them so we could go on this one."
"Alright, but next time you want to go away spontaneously for the weekend we'll do it," Fox said, still feeling guilty they hadn't been able to go to Niagara Falls for the weekend two months before.
"Fine, just as long as it doesn't affect our jobs, either of us," Harrington said. She wasn't surprised when her girlfriend's response was a kiss and she responded eagerly. When they had stopped she was about to suggest they get to sleep when Fox was kissing her a few more times and she found she couldn't talk about that just yet while she was enjoying their touch.
"It looks good," Skye said, smiling at her wife when she stopped turning. "And how are you not dizzy?"
"You taught me how to do that," Mary replied with a smile. She then said, "I think I'd like to see yours."
"Not yet, not until we can do something more than just try them on," Skye replied easily.
"Not fair," Mary said with a smile.
Standing from the armchair she was sitting on, Skye said, "No but we can't really do much tonight."
"That's a lie," Mary said.
Startled at the vehemence in her wife's tone Skye said, "You're…" She trailed off before she swallowed a little hard and then told her, "I think you're right but I wasn't kidding about much."
"I know, a little," Mary said. She wasn't surprised when her wife was nodding and she leaned into her so they could kiss. They were doing so gently before she said when she could, "Please put on your robe now."
Studying her wife Skye said, "Do you want me to wear anything underneath?"
"That's up to you," Mary said though she was hesitating slightly. "Though if you want to know my preference I want you naked."
"Not a surprise, hold on," Skye said though she was gently cupping her wife's breasts with her hands.
"I know what you want," Mary said teasingly since she herself was nude under her yukata.
"Good," Skye said simply, smiling when her wife laughed as she was leaving her. She headed to the closet where her yukata was and took it off its hanger before she walked to the bathroom.
Waiting for her wife, Mary went to the windows and slightly closed the curtains to leave a gap in between them so the city was visible. She wasn't surprised hearing the door opening shortly after and she turned to find her wife walking in. "Thank you," she said.
"Oh, you can tell already?" Skye asked jokingly.
"Please," Mary said a little sarcastically since her wife's nipples were easily visible. When the investigator was with her she thumbed them gently and bit her left cheek inside her mouth at Skye's moan. "You said a little," she said.
"Ooh, not you, me," Skye tried to tease though her pleasure was still inundating her voice. "But yeah, so we should start." She was about to turn to the bed when her wife was stopping her and pulling her to her for a kiss. She made it passionate as soon as possible and they were clutching at each other before they were opening each other's yukata a little roughly. "I love you," she said seriously as they parted when they were moaning at the other touching their bare skin.
"Love you Rose," Mary told her breathlessly. "I want you grá."
"So do I grá," Skye said before they were almost tumbling onto their bed laughing when the fabrics of their robes were tangling along with their legs at the same time while they began their intimacy.
"Are you okay love?" Beckett asked her husband as she walked over to where he sitting on the armchair that was in the alcove in the bedroom of their suite.
"Yeah, why?" Castle replied.
"I was expecting you to demand that I wear my yukata right now," Beckett said with a smile while he was taking her hand. She did her best not to laugh when he was pulling her onto his lap and said, "Preferably nude."
"I wouldn't demand," Castle said. "A demanding request?" He wasn't surprised when she was laughing and he said, "Okay, I would request it of you. And then when you came out I'd likely paw at you through the robe."
"That last part I knew already," Beckett said, leaning against him and wrapping her arms around him. She kissed at his temple and told him, "Do you not want to do anything?"
"I would but I'm wondering about the time we have for that," Castle said. "It isn't a lot is it?"
"Not really," Beckett replied with a sigh. "But you know we could do something together." She was a little surprised when he was whispering into her ear and she was tensing slightly before she looked down at him.
"Not enough?" Castle asked. "Too much? Just right?" he then said in a rush before he found she was covering his mouth with her hand.
"Let me answer," Beckett said firmly. She couldn't help laughing when her husband was nodding and she moved her hand to lightly kiss him on the lips. "It's perfect… for now."
"Agreed," Castle said before he was hesitating. "Now?"
"Please," Beckett said before she was laughing when her husband was suddenly picking her up. She calmed herself down as he walked to the bed and held onto his neck before saying while he was setting her down, "I love you Rick."
"I love you too Kate," Castle said seriously, sitting on the side of the bed once she was set on it. "Goddess," he told her as he leaned into her.
"Sheik," Beckett breathed before he was kissing her and passionately. She wrapped her arms around him again and was shortly after they'd begun pulling him with her so they could easily move into their lovemaking a little faster.
"I hope we have good weather today," Mari said, looking at the view.
"Yeah, my dad said we'd be fine all the way through Disneyland," Julia said. "And breakfast should be here in about twenty minutes."
"Do you think our parents will be mad we got the bakery stuff?" Mari asked worriedly while Julia joined her on the couch.
"No, I asked Mom if we could order stuff like that," the teen replied. "She said just don't get desserts without their permission; my parents and yours," she added, explaining at the end.
Nodding Mari said, "It sounds really good."
"I know, but I can't stop thinking about that taiyaki," Julia said jokingly before she laughed when her girlfriend was nudging her side with her elbow. She then brought up the next night and their dinner before they were talking about what they wanted to have and to do exactly until there was a knock on the door.
Once their breakfast had been delivered, Mari said once they were sitting at the coffee table, "Will this be okay tomorrow night?"
"Yeah," Julia said, looking around them. She smiled and then said, "We have to split this, I don't think we can avoid it."
"We're splitting everything," Mari said.
"I'm glad we agreed on that," Julia said before she was laughing when her girlfriend was covering her face with her hands. "Come on, or else we're going to be late."
"Not that late," Mari replied, watching her girlfriend beginning to split the three pastries they had. "But I still think we should have gotten the hot chocolate."
"And you could have explained that to our moms," Julia said with a smile.
"I would have," Mari said simply before they were laughing together. They then began to eat for a little until she said, "This isn't bad."
Julia smiled and stated, "You wanted something else."
"No," Mari said firmly. When her girlfriend was looking at her in surprise at her tone she said, "Sorry, I was just wondering if we shouldn't have gotten something more Japanese."
"Do you know what they eat for breakfast here?" Julia asked, scooting a little closer to her.
"Yeah, stuff like rice and… miso," Mari said.
"Are you hungry enough for that?" Julia said.
"Not really, but I guess this is good enough," Mari answered with a smile. She then said, "I mean it's really good." She laughed when her girlfriend was hugging her and responded before they returned to their food, finishing and moving to the bathroom to brush their teeth.
"What do you think about lunch?" Julia asked.
Giving her a look Mari said, "I'm going to eat whatever we get." She then realized something and asked, "Do you mean dinner tomorrow?"
"I was going to ask that after," Julia said. "But for now I guess we'll wait and see." She smiled, not surprised Mari was agreeing and they started to brush in a hurry so they wouldn't be late getting to the lobby and meeting everyone else.
"What're you doing?" Fox asked as she watched her girlfriend looking at the room service menu.
"Just looking at the other options," Harrington replied. "For tomorrow morning," she added.
"Are you that hungry?" Fox asked, looking at her watch for a moment. "It should be here soon."
"Hopefully," Harrington said. She then turned to the window they were sitting by and said, "Tomorrow night."
"Yes?" Fox asked with a smile.
"What would you like to do?" Harrington asked.
"Well," Fox said slowly. "We could go out to a nice restaurant."
"What is it?" Harrington asked at her speaking so hesitantly.
"Should we ask Skye and Mary if there are any lesbian bars or clubs?" Fox asked.
"We should," Harrington said. She smiled a little when her girlfriend was looking at her in surprise and said, "I want to go dancing with you."
"We'll talk to them later," Fox replied. She saw her girlfriend was about to speak when there was a knock and she got up, going to the door and waiting for the worker to set their food and drinks on the table. After the man had left she said, "Remind me to thank you for the mochas."
"They smell good?" Harrington asked.
"They do," Fox replied before she was sitting with her. After they were eating their eggs and pancakes for a while she said, "If we go to a club where would you like to go for dinner?"
"Oh… I don't know," Harrington said slowly.
"Yes you do," Fox replied, looking at her pointedly.
"Alright, I know it's cliché but one thing I've really wanted to do in Japan is have sushi," Harrington told her.
"Great, we'll get Skye and Mary's opinion," Fox said immediately. She couldn't help laughing softly when her girlfriend looked startled and said, "I want to do the same too, just once."
"That's good enough for me," Harrington said before she was turning her attention to her last few bites of pancakes. She was surprised when her girlfriend was taking her fork and watched her getting a piece before feeding her. "Thank you," she said, when she'd eaten the bite.
Fox was about to speak when her girlfriend was feeding her then and she smiled while she was chewing. "Should we just do that the rest of the meal?" she asked teasingly when she'd finished.
"Well…" Harrington said before her girlfriend leaned into her and was kissing her. After they'd parted she said, "If you don't mind then I think we can continue."
Unable to help laughing at the director's tone, Fox said, "I do too."
The two began to feed each other at that point though it wasn't long until they were finishing and getting up to clean up and then finish getting ready.
"Do you have your phone charged all the way?" Harrington asked when they had finished and were walking over to the door.
"I do," Fox answered before she paused. "Why?"
"I might need it to take pictures," Harrington explained with a smile.
Shaking her head Fox said, "I'm not surprised. But make sure your phone is charged too."
Laughing, Harrington hugged the officer before she said, "It is, but I'm going to be honest-"
"If you need to use my phone you can," Fox interrupted her.
"Thank you, though what about your pictures?" Harrington asked.
"It depends on what we see," Fox said honestly.
Laughing softly, Harrington said, "We'll both have to see." She then watched her girlfriend lean into her before they were kissing gently and then said, "Okay, we better go."
"Yeah, it's time," Fox said. But instead of moving to the door she leaned into her girlfriend and took her lips in a gentle kiss though they were lingering until they needed to part. "Okay, now it is," she said to her girlfriend.
Unable to help herself, Harrington laughed again before she was moving to the door ahead of her girlfriend and opened it. "We should have fun," she said as she passed her.
"Of course," Fox said simply before they were stepping out into the hall and hurrying to the elevators.
"I don't know why I agreed to this," Mary was saying as she looked at the plate in front of her.
"Really?" Skye asked in amusement. "You knew what we were going to order."
"True, but I hope the girls don't find out about this," Mary said, studying the pancakes before she looked up at her wife. "What're you doing?" she asked, seeing the smile on her face. It hit her a second later and she said in amusement, "You let them order it."
"I did, though don't say anything to them," Skye answered. "Now we better start or we'll lose all our time."
When her wife was sitting with her Mary said, "At least we only got one order."
Nodding Skye said, "I wasn't going to get us separate plates. That I wouldn't have been able to explain to the girls… since they would have ferreted it out of me."
Mary laughed briefly and said, "You make a good point. Though if not you it would have been me."
"Probably," Skye said with a shrug. She watched her wife laughing before they were eating again and eventually said, "What is it grá?"
Smiling at her wife's question, Mary said, "Are you ready?"
"Oh… I suppose," Skye said slowly. She wasn't surprised at her wife's frown and said, "I have to honestly see when we get to the stage." Hesitating for a moment she then said, "I wish I had brought a guitar."
"It's not easy Skye," Mary reminded her.
"I know, the girls' things were more important," Skye said. "Good thing I'm ambidextrous."
"True," Mary said with a smile. "I'm sure Paul will let you borrow his guitars."
"Better I don't," Skye commented. "Maybe someone else in the band will let me borrow."
"Maybe," Mary said simply.
"And you?" Skye asked, studying her.
"I'll have to see," Mary said simply and with a smile.
Rolling her eyes, Skye then leaned into her wife and kissed her lightly before they were parting and she said, "You're lucky I know you're as unsettled as I am."
"Which is weird, they do like us here in Japan," Mary said, recalling the day before when some women had asked for pictures and autographs from them.
"And Kate and Rick too," Skye said, smiling to herself as she remembered. "But Julia's fans were a surprise."
"Not really, people can watch the show online," Mary said.
"And read her books," Skye commented. "But they don't seem to mind."
"And you?" Mary asked.
"Oh no, I don't," Skye was quick to say. "But let's hope we're not recognized everywhere before."
"There's still a lot of time," Mary told her wife when she was checking her phone.
Making a brief face at her wife, Skye put it down and said, "I was looking to see if there were any texts. Nothing."
"I'm sure the others are enjoying their breakfast," Mary commented.
"I would hope so," Skye replied a little absently. She saw the look on her wife's face and said, "I'm recalling the food at the Forum."
"They have options," Mari reminded her.
Nodding Skye said, "And what we should get." She then smiled and said, "I know what you're going to say, that we should wait until we're there to decide what to eat."
"Good, now I don't have to say it," Mary said jokingly. She and her wife laughed together momentarily before they were splitting the fruit they'd gotten, eating that largely in silence. Though the investigator tried to stop her she was helping Skye in clearing the table and taking their trays outside to the hall. "I'll be right back," she told her wife once the door was locked behind them.
"Sure, I'm going to check for texts from anyone again," Skye said. "Not the time," she told her with a smirk.
"I hope not," Mary said before she was heading into the bedroom.
Picking her phone up from the table, Skye saw she had a text and noticed it was from their friend and surfing coach Detective Burke.
Hearing something outside, Mary stuck her head out from the bathroom and saw her wife was there. "What is it?" she asked in concern.
"Nothing bad… to a degree," Skye said, shaking her head. "A text from Burke."
"Is it about the longboards?" Mary asked in obvious disappointment.
"Yeah, they're just going to have shortboards in 2028," Skye said with a sigh. "Well, I guess we had fun with the little competitions we did and-"
"Hold on," Mary said firmly. "We can still compete."
"Are you sure?" Skye asked her in obvious surprise.
Nodding Mary said after a brief pause, "I told myself if it ever came to that I would do it again… attempt to."
"Should we try while we're here?" Skye asked.
"Yeah, but not where they competed three years ago," Mary said with a slight smile. She wasn't surprised when her wife was hugging her tightly and she responded to the embrace. "I'm alright," she assured her wife. "Mom and Dad would have been so sad I stopped surfing on those boards to be honest." She then pulled away from her wife and said, "I want you to have Dad's."
Freezing for a moment Skye said, "You're sure," instead of making that a question.
With a brief nod, Mary said, "I wouldn't want anyone else to have it." She wasn't surprised when her wife was kissing her then and she was quick to respond until they were parting.
"Thank you," Skye said seriously.
"You're very welcome, I know you'll take care of it," Mary replied. "Are you going to call Burke?"
Checking the time, Skye said, "I think I'll have to text, we need to leave." She wasn't surprised when her wife stepped away from her and she turned her attention to her phone. When she had finished she walked inside after her wife and went to the other sink before she was brushing her teeth quickly. "He said he'll be glad to train and coach us… once he picks up everything he needs to do both. And he wants to see us on the boards once we're home."
Nodding Mary then asked, "What about the girls?"
"To be honest we need to talk to everyone about this," Skye said with a smile. "And we will as soon as we're with them in the lobby." She wasn't surprised when her wife was smiling back and they hurried to get their things so they could leave their suite.
"This coffee is really good," Castle told his wife while she was walking to the table where he was waiting for her.
"You drank some already?" Beckett asked in mock annoyance.
"Just a small sip, my mug was almost overflowing," Castle said before he paused. "I didn't intend that to be dirty."
"I know," Beckett said, cupping his cheek gently before she was sitting on the chair next to him. They began eating and once they had done for a little she said, "I'm glad we did something last night."
"Me too, though I'm disappointed about the no yukatas," Castle told her.
"Yukatas?" Beckett asked him in amusement.
"You don't want me to wear mine?" Castle asked her in surprise.
"I do," Beckett replied. "But we are going to need to wait."
"I'm fine with that," Castle said. "Seriously," he said when his wife was looking at him doubtfully.
"Alright," Beckett said. She then smiled and said, "But tomorrow night."
"Yeah," Castle said swiftly. "After the club."
Beckett nodded twice before she then said, "But for now…"
"Yeah, I'm eating," Castle said. He wasn't surprised when she was looking at his plate briefly before he said, "I am."
Beckett tried not to laugh before she told him, "I see."
"Are you trying to hurry me?" Castle asked.
"Yes," Beckett replied before they were laughing together briefly. "To be honest I just want to make it down to the lobby in time."
"Me too, the last thing I need is Brad and David to hound me about us being the last ones there," Castle said in mock annoyance.
"And Patrick would do the same to me," Beckett said.
"Not hounding though," Castle said, not surprised when his wife was laughing quickly.
"No," Beckett replied before she was eating again. Once they had finished she and her husband were moving to get the table cleaned before they dressed quickly in the closet and they finished getting ready in the bathroom.
"Kate?" Castle asked when they were in their bedroom, reaching out and taking her hand. "Do you think we could do something else before we leave for the club?" he asked.
Smiling, Beckett asked, "Eat dinner here?"
"Would you mind?" Castle asked.
"No," Beckett replied before she reached for him and hugged him gently. When she pulled away she told him, "Actually I was debating that."
"Really?" Castle asked in surprise.
"Really," Beckett said. "But I was also considering the restaurants here in the hotel." She reached up to her husband and gently covered his mouth with her hand saying, "I want to eat here."
"Just tomorrow night," Castle promised her.
Beckett couldn't help laughing briefly before she said, "Since we don't have that many nights left, then I'll take you at your word." She laughed again when he was nodding his head and moving her hand before she told him, "That's tomorrow night."
"I just wanted to get that set," Castle replied once she'd lowered her hand.
"And now that we do…" Beckett told him.
"I'll follow you," Castle said swiftly.
Rolling her eyes while she was smiling, Beckett turned and left the bedroom to get her purse on the way to the door. As her husband was making sure he had everything he needed she checked her phone and saw Skye had sent a group text. "Something with Skye and Mary," she told him.
"Oh?" Castle asked in surprise.
"She says it's nothing serious, but they need to tell us some news," Beckett said.
"Do you believe her?" Castle said.
"I do, she knows I'd be able to tell if something was off," Beckett replied. She smiled when her husband pretended to think that over before nodding. "And now we can go."
"Yeah, I'm ready," Castle said.
"The keys?" Beckett inquired.
"I have mine in my wallet," Castle answered.
"I have one in mine," Beckett said since he was looking at her pointedly. "Your phone?"
"Got it," Castle said. "I have everything."
"One more thing," Beckett said as she reached for him.
Castle was a little startled when his wife was pulling him down to her but recovered as fast as he could before he was kissing her deeply. He held her against him once her arms snaked around his neck and he couldn't stop himself, running his hands around her back. He felt and heard his wife moaning before he was holding her tighter until he realized what they were doing. Pulling away he said, "You're risking a lot love."
Smiling Beckett said, "You needed it."
Letting out a rough huff of air, Castle said, "What about you?" When her response was to continue to smile at him he couldn't keep himself from groaning heavily in pleasure at the sight of it. "Vixen," he told her.
"Thank you Rick, but you need to save that for tomorrow," Beckett said.
"I will," Castle replied before he was leaning down to her and kissing her deeply. After they were slowly parting a bit later he said, "If I have any chance to do that again…"
"Just make sure we're relatively alone," Beckett answered his unasked question with a smile. She brushed her lips to his and then said, "But that remains to be seen."
Though he didn't want to, Castle checked the time on his watch and said, "We better go, pick up Julia and Mari?"
"I told you we were going to continue to do that," Beckett replied teasingly.
"Okay, okay," Castle said in mock frustration. "But they better be ready."
"You'll have to tell Julia that when we get there," Beckett said with a smirk. "That you don't trust her… or Mari."
"Oh no," Castle told her immediately. "I'm not saying that about Mari. Or about Julia for Mari to hear." He smiled when his wife was laughing and he then told her, "I'm sure they are, I mean they've been really excited."
"Which is why I know already they'll be outside their suite in the hall waiting for us," Beckett told him, not surprised when he was merely nodding before they were leaving the suite. After they were in the elevator she said as she looked at her phone, "I got a text from Rebecca, they're heading down."
"Well… at least we won't necessarily be last," Castle said, smiling when his wife was rolling her eyes in obvious annoyance. He saw they were nearing the floor Julia and Mari were on and quickly squeezed his wife's hand briefly before the doors opened. He stepped out with his wife and spotted their daughter and her girlfriend in the hallway outside their suite.
Sharing a smile with her husband, Beckett watched as the two were soon hurrying down to them and she said, "Don't run."
"We're trying not to," Julia said laughingly once she and Mari were closer. "But we really want to go."
"So do we," Castle said to them. "Sleep alright?" he then asked when they were heading back into the elevator car he'd held open.
"Yeah, the bed's really comfortable," Julia said. "You?"
"The same, this hotel is really well known," Beckett said with a smile.
"Thanks for our suite, again," Julia told her parents.
"Yeah, we really like it," Mari said. She then smiled at her girlfriend and said, "It's perfect."
"You're welcome," Castle said. "Since that's why we got you that suite."
"You did," Beckett said firmly.
"I did," Castle said before they were looking at the girls giggling at his tone of voice.
The elevator soon stopped after that and the four were walking quickly out of the car to step into the lobby and join everyone for their sightseeing that day.
