Summary

At this point in the story, Wei Wuxian is actively hiding his true identity. According to this fic’s timeline, he only received the title Yiling Patriarch a hundred years after the First Cultivation War. Because of that, no one in the current cultivation world knows that Wei Wuxian and the Yiling Patriarch are the same person.In the opening chapter, it’s mentioned that Lan Wangji killed Wei Wuxian for following the unorthodox path. That history is precisely why Wei Wuxian is being careful now and, as we all know, he’s never liked the title of Yiling Patriarch to begin with.
As for Lan Wangji, he doesn't know the name of the Yiling Patriarch, so instead he just takes his cue from the way Wen Qing addressed him and does the same but since he's always been overly formal he used 'Yiling Zhongzhu'. But not to worry it won't continue for long.
