Bienvenue à la Z-A Royale! (Sponsored by Quasartico, Inc.)
We are pleased that you have chosen to participate in this event. It is our company's mission to bring harmony between people and Pokémon, and we have created this competition as yet another method of making this noble goal come true.
All rules and regulations will be listed in this packet. All participants (henceforth will be referred to as "Trainers") are expected to read, understand, and obey the rules and directions contained within this document to the best of their ability. The Z-A Royale Rules and Regulations packet and other associated documents will help maintain fairness and integrity for this event. Trainers who behave in ways that damage the integrity of this event will be penalized by Quasartico, Inc, and face consequences from either Quasartico, Inc, or by law enforcement.

Section 1: Registration and Fees
- Legal citizens of Kalos and permanent resident card holders
- ₽500,000 if you register between May 20th and June 1st
- ₽350,000 if you pre-register by May 19th
- Non-citizens, international students/residents, and travel visa holders
- ₽750,000 if you register between May 20th and June 1st
- ₽450,000 if you pre-register by May 19th.
- The following are not allowed to participate in the Z-A Royale
- Any non-residents or illegal aliens
- Students, workers, or tourists who have not had a visa renewal by March 1st of the current year.
- Trainers possessing psychokinetic (“PSI”) abilities that are classified as Category 3 or higher, per the classification system established in Articles 4 and 9 of the All-Region Accords.
- All Trainers reported to have psychokinetic (“PSI”) abilities are required to be screened by any of Quasartico, Inc’s local offices prior to registration in the Royale. Find the closest office near you at http://quasarco.kl/auxlocations. A drug test may be required at time of registration.
- Children 5 years of age and under.
- Trainers aged 6-17 must have Page 15 of this packet filled by a parent or legal guardian and pass a competency test at the time of registration.
- Emancipated minors aged 6-17 must have Page 17 filled in addition to all legal documents stating emancipated status, and must pass a competency test at time of registration.
- The Royale is intended to run from June 10th at 1900 through September 10th at 2359. All participants must provide their own transportation and assure that their housing is in good standing during this time. If a participant does not participate in battle for five (5) consecutive days, they will be disqualified for the rest of the season.
- See both Section 3: Battle Rules, and Section 4: Trainer Conduct for additional disqualifying penalties.
- The Z-A Royale is a privately-run tournament, and has no bearing in any Trainer's standing within the official Kalos Pokémon League. A Trainer's standing in the Kalos Pokemon League Gym Challenge - or any Gym Challenge in other Regions - shall also not be considered during registration and establishment of rank. Attempts of influencing one toward the other by means of intimidation or bribery may result in fines, criminal charges, or lifetime bans at the discretion of both Quasartico, Inc or the Kalos Pokémon League.
Section 2: Format Structure
- The Royale will progress in two (2) ways: Spontaneous battles that take place in specially sanctioned Battle Zones, and rank-increasing Promotion Matches.
- Ascension through ranks will follow an alphabetical system. All participating Trainers will begin at Rank Z.
- Ticket Points may be obtained at the Trainer's pace as long as it is done during active Battle Zone hours. See Section 5: Logistics for more information regarding Battle Zone hours and locations.
- However, as noted in Section 1: Registration and Fees, Trainers who do not participate in the Battle Zone for five (5) consecutive days will be disqualified for the rest of the Royale season.
- Losses within the Battle Zone will result in a loss of half (½) of the Trainer's Prize Medals (See Section 5: Logistics regarding the function of Prize Medals) per match. However…
- There will be no loss of Ticket Points the Trainer has already obtained for that night.
- The Trainer will not lose their current Rank in this manner.
- The Trainer cannot be eliminated from the Royale in this manner.
- When the participating Trainer reaches the maximum required amount of Ticket Points, they will be allowed to participate in a Promotion Match via distribution of a Challenger's Ticket.
- Clause 2.A: For the earliest part of the season when all Trainers begin at Rank Z, Promotion Matches will not begin until at least ⅓ of all registered participants have obtained a Challenger's Ticket.
- Victory in a Promotion Match will increase the Trainer's Rank by one (1) letter.
- Regarding defeat in a Promotion Match:
- 1st Loss: The losing Trainer will keep their current Rank, and must earn Ticket Points once again during Battle Zone hours to participate in another Promotion Match.
- 2nd Loss: The losing Trainer's Rank will drop by three (3) letters. They must earn Ticket Points once again during Battle Zone hours to participate in another Promotion Match.
- 3rd Loss: The Trainer is eliminated from the Z-A Royale.
- The number of Ticket Points to obtain a Challenger's Ticket will scale by Rank, capping at 50,000 points.
- See Section 3: Battle Rules for specific Battle Formats that may be utilized during Battle Zone Matches and Promotion Matches.
- At the end of the season, two (2) Trainers who have reached Rank A will engage in one final battle to determine the victor for the season, and subsequently begin given their desired wish by Quasartico, Inc.
- Clause 2.B: If no Trainers have reached Rank B by the end of the season, both monetary and physical will be distributed to all Trainers who have achieved Rank C. Any remaining Trainers below Rank C may reapply to try again next season.
- Clause 2C: If only one (1) Trainer has reached Rank A by the end of the season, they will be deemed the season’s victor by default.
- Clause 2D: If greater than two (2) trainers have reached Rank B, Quasartico, Inc will determine the participants for the final battle based on each Trainer’s performance record.
- For Trainers who reach Rank G and above, Quasartico may offer a Keystone to invoke Mega Evolution (while supplies last) provided that the Trainer shows promise and has followed all rules and regulations. Our panel of observers will offer Keystones at their own discretion.
- Clause 2.E: Up to three (3) Pokémon registered to a Trainer's PC Storage System will be allowed to utilize Mega Evolution during Battle Zone Matches. Only one (1) Pokémon will be allowed to utilize Mega Evolution during a Promotion Match.
- Clause 2.F: A limited selection of Mega Stones will be available for purchase (while supplies last) at Quasartico, Inc's main building located at 9 Avenue Automnale, 77666 Ville de Lumiose, Kalos. These will be sold on a first come first served basis.
- Clause 2.G: Trainers are recommended to bring their own Mega Stones if they are already in possession of one or more. All stones will be analyzed for purity and legitimacy by Quasartico, Inc during time of registration.
- Clause 2.H: Cameras outside of all Battle Zones will be used to ensure that the appropriate amount of Mega Stones are in use.
Section 3: Battle Rules
- A battle within the Battle Zone can initiate in two (2) ways:
- Trainers establish eye contact.
- A Trainer’s Pokémon lands an attack on an opposing Pokémon from behind.
- The following Battle Formats are permitted in the Z-A Royale
- Single Battles (Minimum 2, Maximum 6)
- For Trainers possessing between two (2) and five (5) Pokémon, matchups do not need to be equal. A Trainer possessing two (2) Pokémon may battle a Trainer possessing five (5) Pokémon, for example.
- Full Battles (6v6) can only be Full Battles. No fewer than 6 Pokémon may be used. For Trainers who wish to engage in this format, a holographic sticker will be provided by local vendors. Cameras outside the Battle Zone will be used to reinforce this rule.
- Clause 3.A: Full Battle participants who attempt to initiate a Battle in one (1) of the two (2) methods listed above towards a participant not registered as a Full Battle participant may be subjugated to penalties or a lifetime ban.
- Under no circumstances can only one (1) Pokémon be used by participating Trainers at any time.
- Double Battles (Minimum 2, Maximum 6)
- As noted in Article 2 of Format Structure, three (3) Pokémon will be permitted to Mega Evolve in the Battle Zones, while only one (1) will be permitted during Promotion Matches.
- Sky Battles (Minimum 2, Maximum 6)
- Sky Battle participants can only participate in Sky Battles for the night.
- Clause 3.B: Sky Battle participants who attempt to initiate a Battle with a Trainer not registered to participate in Sky Battles may be subjugated to penalties or a lifetime ban.
- Trainers who wish to participate in this format are responsible for supplying and refurbishing their own equipment. Quasartico, Inc is not responsible for any damage or loss of equipment.
- Holographic stickers will be provided by local vendors for Trainers who wish to battle in this format. Cameras outside the Battle Zone are placed to reinforce this rule.
- Sky Battle participants can only participate in Sky Battles for the night.
- Single Battles (Minimum 2, Maximum 6)
- The following Battle Formats are not permitted in the Z-A Royale
- Triple Battles
- Rotation Battles
- Multi-Battles
- All Trainer matchups will be one (1) versus one (1). Under no circumstances will two (2) trainers battle one (1) trainer, nor can two (2) trainers fight two (2) trainers, and so on.
- Alolan Battle Royale Format (Free-for-all)
- Inverse Battles
- See Section 1: Registration and Fees regarding the participation of Trainers possessing psychokinetic (“PSI”) abilities.
- Pokemon Contest-styled competitions, including the Contest Battle format.
Section 4: Trainer Conduct
- The following behaviors listed will be deemed as unacceptable by Quasartico, Inc. Displaying of these behaviors may result in penalties, criminal charges, or lifetime bans.
- Assault/battery of a fellow Trainer.
- Assault/battery of an opponent Trainer’s Pokémon.
- Assault/battery of a fellow trainer bought about by another Trainer’s Pokémon.
- A Trainer ordering their Pokémon to assault a fellow Trainer or Pokémon with killing intent surrounding the Battle Zone perimeter, or inside the Zone after a match has concluded.
- Clause 4.A: An accidental death of either a Trainer or a Pokémon during a battle will not count as a penalty.
- Clause 4.B: An accidental death of a non-participant from a battle will not count as a penalty.
- Clause 4.C: Any assault/battery crimes that extend further outside of the Battle Zone shall be dealt with by the proper authorities, as they are no longer under Quasartico, Inc’s jurisdiction.
- Clause 4.D: Quasartico, Inc absolves itself of any responsibility for injuries or death stated in the above clauses.
- Theft of a fellow Trainer’s Pokemon, equipment, or personal belongings.
- Clause 4.E: Any missing or abandoned items left unattended may be left at the closest available Pokémon Center or at a Lumiose City Police Department box. Quasartico, Inc is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- The solicitation of explicit sexual activity or conduct, including the distribution of pornographic material.
- Gambling of legal tender on either Battle Zone matches or Promotion Matches.
- Battling inside any buildings within the Battle Zone. All battles must take place outside.
- Clause 4.F: Rooftops are acceptable for battling provided they are outside and within the boundaries of the Battle Zone.
- Clause 4.G: Regarding residential buildings within Battle Zones: Battles that may take place around these buildings or on rooftops are free from subjugation of noise complaints.
- Clause 4.H: Any damage or destruction of property within an active Battle Zone is not a crime.
Section 5: Logistics
- Three (3) Battle Zones will be activated by Quasartico, Inc. every night beginning at 1900 every Monday through Friday, and will deactivate at 0400 the following day. Saturday hours begin at 2200 and end at 0500 the following day. The Royale will not occur on Sundays and select holidays (See Event Calendar in your Z-A Royale App).
- Clause 5.A: Your Z-A Royale App will notify you of any unexpected cancellations.
- Clause 5.B: In the event of one (1) or two (2) malfunctioning Battle Zones, a limited number of participants can register to battle in any remaining active Zones. Malfunction of all three (3) selected zones will cancel the event for the night.
- Clause 5.C: Severe weather warnings (Thunderstorms/Hurricanes/Blizzards/Extreme Heat) will cancel the event for the night.
- No Battle Zones will overlap with Wild Zones at any time.
- A percentage base of money from the losing Trainer serves as the default prize for all victories within the Battle Zone, scaling upward by Rank. Use the calculator tool in the Z-A Royale App to determine what percentage of money you are owed upon victory.
- Prize medals will be both scattered around the Battle Zones and as a reward on Royale Cards. Medals also provide monetary value. Number of prize medals obtained multiplied by number of Trainers beaten (based on a multiplier) = Monetary reward at the end of the night.
- Clause 5.D: Please speak with your local broker regarding taxation of monetary rewards.
- Trainers will find virtual Royale Cards scattered throughout the Battle Zones during active hours. They can be uploaded into your Z-A Royale app. Cards offer additional tasks for the Trainer to perform for higher Ticket Point gains and additional Prize Medals (i.e, attack with Grass-type moves three (3) times through the night for 100 additional medals and 3,000 additional Ticket Points). Up to three (3) can be active at once.
- The Battle Zone is the ring! Per Clause 1.F, any destruction of property within an active Battle Zone is not a crime.
- Clause 5.E: If you are a business owner concerned about property damage within a Battle Zone, please see our pamphlet regarding options for property damage liability and building insurance. Please note that full liability coverage is not mandatory in 11 of Kalos’ 16 provinces, including Lumière Province (location of Lumiose City and the Greater Lumiose Area).
- Clause 5.F: If you are a business owner or non-participant who has found themselves trapped within a Battle Zone during active hours, no transportation will be provided. Please plan your time accordingly and visit www.ZARoyale.kl/battle-zone-calendar to see when specific Zones activate on specific dates.
- Please fill all appropriate pages in this 50-page document and submit in person at either our main office or one of our auxiliary offices by June 2nd.
