The Blue Lions professor spent countless cycles trying to save Dimitri from the darkness in his heart, nearly losing himself in the process. The flow of time never changed—that is, until he met Yuri. Since then, Byleth has been fighting for a way to stop the endless time loop, so that he can finally live the peaceful life he yearns for. Except his time is running out: Those Who Slither in the Dark always find him during his five years spent asleep, giving him two new Crests in an attempt to turn him into the perfect weapon—a process which is beginning to literally kill him. Remi's entire life definitely did not go up in flames a few weeks ago. She quit her job and left the only place she'd ever known because she was interested in the recent increases to the wild Pokémon population in Lumiose. That was the only reason. Nothing else.
And she only joined Team MZ because she needed cheap accommodations. Now that she knows there's a threat looming over the city, of course she'll do whatever she has to do to protect the people and Pokémon here. But her reasons for joining Team MZ had nothing to do with the way Urbain stood between her and danger, or how Naveen carefully chose and embroidered a bag with Team MZ's logo so that it wouldn't get in her way when she ran across the city. She doesn't even notice how Lida always seems happy to see her, even when she's...prickly.
It really isn't that complicated.
