Work Text:
The snow falls soft, a silent shroud,
Akari walks, where once they vowed.
No shoes she wears, the ice bites deep,
A frozen promise she must keep.
The crimson stain, a memory burned,
Mai's laughter stilled, forever mourned.
The execution's brutal grace,
A loop repeats within this place.
She never speaks, she never cries,
Just stares ahead with empty eyes.
The mask she wears, a porcelain plea,
To hide the hollow nobody sees.
The wind howls low, a mournful dirge,
Beside the grave, she starts to urge,
"Oh, Mai, my love, they took your light,
And left me here in endless night."
She curses Shikyou, cold and cruel,
Who broke the promise, played the fool.
And Emi too, who stood and watched,
While innocence was cruelly botched.
The gods are silent, deaf and blind,
No solace left for heart or mind.
Humanity, a bitter jest,
Akari walks, without a rest.
No faith remains, no hope to find,
Just frozen earth and memories confined.
A silent vigil, bleak and bare,
Akari lives in cold despair.
