Work Text:

The war was coming to a close.

It was something that Takumi and everyone had hoped to hear ever since they started fighting this war, the battles they fought on either side, and the lives that were lost over the years that all lead to this. The end of the war, the end of the massacre, and the end of life as Takumi knew it.

Walking around the main camp of the Rebellion, Takumi could already see signs of it ending with his friends.

In the garage, Tsubasa was entranced by her latest project, there were rumbling of machinery and shouts from her carefully selected team as they all worked together to upgrade one of the farming machines. With weapons nearly useless at this point, it was better focus on making devices that helps everyone and help their communities grow.

Takemaru was in the courtyard with a group of old folks. They were one of few reminders of the much older generations but they were keeping fit with his help while sharing their wisdom to others. Although they did shout back at him to keep his voice lowered, which was most of the time, but Takumi could tell Takemaru was becoming calmer due to their help.

Gaku was in the kitchens, cooking up meals for the many orphans for the war. It felt like a lifetime ago when he would complain he was doing so much work for them when now he was gaining a new kid whenever he stepped outside. Takumi didn’t know why but his heart felt a bit fuzzy whenever he saw Gaku with those kids. The smile on Gaku's face, while big and wide as his other ones, Takumi could tell it was somewhat bittersweet.

Everyone. The twins with their research into the plant life and artifacts all around Futurum, Moko with her self defense school, Yugamu with his medical advancements, Shouma with his animal sanctuary, and even Hiruko going deeper and deeper into politics despite her insistence of her role as only assisting Takumi. Everyone seemed to have their life figured out.

All except for Takumi.

It shouldn’t be surprising. He barely had any life goal or meaningful hobby in his artificial memories and when he broke away from their control, he found himself entrenched with the role of Futurum's general.

Now he was left with his only identity being taken away from him in a few months.

That left the last person in Takumi’s life.

Eito.

Takumi had a lot of feelings for Eito over the years. At first it was care, then anger, then it was a sense of camaraderie before it boiled into something more. Something Takumi wasn’t sure he could exactly label. It was more than a situationship but they haven’t talked about putting a label on it.

There was a bit of a worry, however, lingering in the bottom of his stomach. Eito would leave him, following his own path and Takumi would be alone like an empty husk. The more he would think about it, the more it would start to eat at him. He wanted to stop the possibility but he wasn't sure what to do--

Takumi stopped in his tracks as something caught his attention.

It was a mundane sight, a couple talking to each other, one of them holding a baby in their arms.

The baby was chubby, with a wide, gummy grin drooling all over his bib. Flailing his little limbs to get his parents attention as they shared a laugh, so innocent of the world that it was created in.

Cute. Takumi smiled at the baby, getting a brighter smile in return as their eyes met. Such a cute thing, with big, round eyes and little dimples around his mouth.

The fuzziness in his heart flashed once again, making Takumi look away before the baby’s parents noticed him staring at them and he quickly started walking again.

He was unsure of his destination as his mind spiraled. What in the world was this feeling? It couldn’t be annoyance, while Takumi was awkward around children, he didn’t downright hate them. Hatred, disgust, sadness, he didn’t feel them, but why did he feel this tightness in his chest? Takumi was practically beating himself up for the reason until his mind finally landed on it.

He wanted a baby.

It was a funny thought, given his circumstances. He always avoided feminine things since he was young. Cutting his hair when it reached his shoulders, tearing off all of the dresses his mother forced on him, and overall never interested in children his whole life.

The only explanation for why he was so interested in babies and pregnancy. Perhaps he was drawn to do something that was the opposite of what life has forced him to be so far. So sick of bloodshed, Takumi wasn’t exactly frustrated about the idea of this type of change.

It would be a good opportunity to have two things at once. A plan forming in his mind, Takumi knew what he had to do.

He was going to babytrap Eito.

They were in Takumi’s room when he finally got the chance.

Despite living with each other for a few years now, Eito and Takumi had separate rooms. At first it was to accommodate Eito’s condition because despite insisting they should share a house so ‘Takumi can keep an eye on him’, now it was a way for their stuff to be separated and Eito could have a space to regulate if he got very overstimulated.

Still when it comes to stuff like this, Eito prefers they do it in Takumi’s room so they wouldn’t taint Eito’s safe space. Takumi didn’t bother complaining about it, especially when he did, it resulted in Eito's lips on his like right now. As their mouths parted, a thin string of saliva still connected them together. Eito quickly wiped it away, before sticking his tongue out childishly.

Stifling a laugh, Takumi ignored the fear and anxiety building in his stomach as he started, “Hey, uh. Eito?”

“Yes?” Eito said as they pulled away from each other a bit more, Eito sat up a bit straighter as he leaned over to the bedside cabinet where the condoms and sex toys were stored, no doubt grabbing one as he always did.

“Hey, uh. I was thinking about something and I wanted to see if you want to go… without condoms?” Takumi said as he felt his face become the same color as his hair. Even after all of these years, he still can be blunt about what he wants.

“Oh? I thought you wanted to do it to be safe,” Eito said, his eyes wide, giving him a more innocent look with his big eyelashes that still hasn’t shortened over the years, “Did something change?”

“Yeah, I decided to change birth control. It’s a bit different, but Yugamu said it suits me better. He’s been making all of those new drugs after all,” It was a partial lie but Eito didn’t know enough about birth control that he couldn’t possibly see through it. Besides, he wasn’t lying about Yugamu making drugs, just the changes in his behavior wasn’t because he was taking new ones, “Besides, it would be more exposure therapy for you! This was something we haven’t tried yet! Assuming it’s different from anal…”

“I suppose so,” Eito said, the reason why they started to have sex in the first place was for exposure therapy, but he asked something, “Takumi. Is there perhaps another reason why you don’t want to use a condom?”

His heart nearly leapt out of his chest as Eito stared down at him. There was no way he knew, Takumi had made no indication for it. All he had to do was come up with an excuse.

“No it’s just…” Takumi trailed off, feeling his face somehow get more red and hotter as he looked away, “I guess I wanted to try something else as well.”

“Ah, there it is. What did Gaku share with you this time?” Eito said, completely thrown off Takumi’s trail. It hadn’t been the first time this had happened. Gaku would often share different positions and ideas that would spark Takumi’s interest. Oftentimes they would reenact those ideas until Takumi was satisfied.

Nodding, Takumi couldn’t look at Eito as he admitted it, “It’s called creampieing-- you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.”

“No no,” Eito said, almost throwing Takumi off as he looked at Eito with wide eyes, “If you are desperately wanting it, then I should satisfy your whims. After all, isn’t that my job as your adjunct?”

Takumi stared at Eito, frowning before he flipped them over. Sitting on Eito’s waist, he started to take off his pants, his dick already throbbing and his hole feeling a bit wet. He could practically smell the desperation off of him as Eito carefully thumbed over his dick. His voice almost husky, he said, “Oh my, are you going to creampie me or I do have to do it to you?”

“I wish,” Takumi said, before undoing and helping Eito take off his pants. He was already hard, his dick almost hitting Takumi as it was freed. It never ceased to surprise Takumi with how… gifted he was. Especially in the early days when Eito would have a hard time getting hard due to his cognitive disorder and Takumi would have to blow him a bit to help him. Now, Eito was proudly trained like Pavlo's dog, making their foreplay much shorter than it used to be.

Maneuvering himself upward, Takumi lined up his hole to Eito’s length, taking one deep breath in as he slowly lowered himself. It wasn’t different from the other times Eito had been inside of him, just a bit more intense as Takumi’s heart was thumping through his chest.

The breath was let out as he bottomed out, sitting on Eito’s hips once again. Eito let out a heavy squeak, causing Takumi to open his eyes.

“What? Does it feel different?” Takumi said, leaning over to study Eito’s face. He was flushed red and there appeared to be tears in his eyes.

“Mmm, warm and hot… and a lot,” Eito let out a noise as his face screwed together. He was gripping Takumi’s waist tightly as he huffed out, “Just.. give me a second to adjust.”

Takumi stared at Eito’s face, twisted, red, and tears in the corner of his eyes. He wanted to tease Eito, shift and bounce to make him cry, but he decided to play nice. Letting Eito adjust before he let out a breathy okay.

With it, all gloves are off, Takumi went fast. Up and down, their breaths, moans, and other noises filled the room as Takumi bounced on Eito's dick. He focused on his own pleasure, filling himself, and hitting that spot inside. Eito didn't complain about being used as a dildo, gripping Takumi's hips for dear life as tears dripped down his face.

When Eito came, spraying his seed inside of Takumi, a rush of adrenaline filled him as well. So this is what Eito felt, all of these years ago, when he looked Takumi in his eyes and stabbed him.

As he slowly untethered himself from Eito, he felt the seed drip out of his hole, Takumi used his fingers to open it more. Just another step of his plan, completed.

It had been a few weeks since Takumi had been enacting his plan and he had to admit, he was feeling impatient. Basic research states that it takes six weeks at least to see signs of pregnancy, but Takumi felt a bit frustration with the lack of results between meetings and piles of paperwork.

At least there was a comfort knowing that they were having sex enough that there had been something happening. Takumi tries to be consistent about it, saying the change was because of his new birth control.

Actually-- was everything working in order? Takumi hasn’t been to the doctor in a while or well-- he hasn't been to the doctor since the last time he was injured. He was pretty sure he was healthy, no long term pain from fighting so long and his diet was alright. His hygiene was top tier thanks to Eito’s influence as well.

Besides, given how he and the rest were created by the Exodus Project, he doubted there was something wrong internally or genetically. Yugamu had even theorized they weren't sterile due to the Exodus Project wanting to create more hemoanima users in the future as some sort of special military to enforce order. The only issue with having kids… well it boiled down to his age.

Thirty two wasn’t old, at least to Takumi’s standards, but he was aware in Futuran standards it was quite late to have children. At least he had the excuse of being a major part in the war but it still didn’t help with his doubts.

There was a thought about going to Yugamu but he shoved it as deep as it could go in his head. Sure, he had calmed down over the years, but Yugamu was still Yugamu and he would be more than happy to conduct a few too many unnecessary tests regarding Takumi’s reproductive organs.

There was the new drugs Yugamu had created, one of those being a rework of fertility medication. Perhaps… Perhaps that might be what Takumi needs. Yugamu is scheduled for surgery during the time Takumi leaves to go home, not to mention Yugamu has a habit of not putting away his supplies in the locked cabinets.

Normally Takumi would have opinions regarding leaving drugs out in the open for anyone to take but he couldn’t judge much when it was him.

After coming back to his house with the reward, Takumi beelined to the bathroom attached to his room and immediately started to get rid of the leftover birth control. He almost threw it in the trash but he remembered Eito would like to randomly clean the house and would no doubt see it there, so down the toilet it went.

Putting the new pills into the birth control bottle, Takumi found himself with a new problem. Where to put the original bottle? He wasn’t sure Eito would recognize it but he didn’t want to take the chance. Put it in the bottom of the trash can? Nah, he didn’t want to take the chance of Eito noticing it. Throw it away outside? What if someone catches him??

Instead Takumi popped his head out of the bathroom and to his trusty, trash drawer where most items he puts in it, stay in there for years. It has never let him down before and it won’t when he shoved the bottle in the very back. Not even Eito could dig it out given how stuck it was back there.

Confident with these results, Takumi returned back to the bathroom and took the first of the pills. Eito should come back home soon, he should get ready for him.

Eito Aotsuki wasn’t an idiot.

Over all of the years, he has proven that fact to the Special Defense Unit, the Futurans in the rebellion, and even the enemies they were facing. Despite his intelligence, Takumi seemed to have a single view of Eito.

It actually made Eito so interested in Takumi, all of those years ago when they were both children forced in adult war. How he could read Takumi so easily but Takumi had different layers inside that he could try to dig deeper into.

Now they were adults, Eito knew Takumi inside and out and he knew Takumi was planning something. He was being sneaky about it, but Eito could follow the trail Takumi left behind quite well.

It first started with searching the birth control. After all, Takumi has stated the change himself but Eito could read something was hiding behind his words. The bottle is its usual place in the bathroom, hidden in the medicine cabinet behind the mirror. Takumi was the one to handle his medication, taking it regularly and getting new doses from Yugamu or the unfortunate assistant Yugamu had gotten for a bit of time. Eito noted it was still being used, half way finished compared to it being filled last time he saw it.

So Takumi was using it, Eito could confirm that. Opening the bottle, Eito noticed that the pills looked different, but not in the way he was expecting.

Eito, as much as he didn't want to get involved with Yugamu’s work, did keep track of the pills and disruption of them. These weren’t birth control pills, any type of birth control pills, these were the new fertility pills Yugamu had created a few weeks ago.

Scrunching his nose at the realization, was Takumi trying to get pregnant?

Actually, that might be his goal in the first place. It would explain his behavior but what was his purpose? Eito knew Takumi too well that he wouldn’t get pregnant for the sake of being pregnant or having a child. No, there had to be something else that would involve Takumi getting pregnant--

Babytrapping.

Eito had to stop himself from laughing like a maniac. Oh stupid Takumi, Eito didn’t realize how desperate Takumi was to keep him. It did make him feel warm and bubbly inside. He put away the pills and closed the door as he thought it over some more.

He wasn’t really planning to have children, but with Takumi, Eito was willing to try it.

“Eito?” Takumi said, popping his head into the room. He broke Eito from his thoughts, but Eito calmed himself as he saw confusion blending with a smidge of fear evident on Takumi’s face, “What are you doing in my bathroom?”

“Random cleaning,” Eito said, wiping down the countertop, no evidence of him tampering with the 'birth control' existed as he plastered on a cold smile, “I can’t let you live in an inhospitable bathroom with your poor cleaning skills. If I did that, you would drop dead before the celebration.”

“Ah,” Takumi said, a sense of relief filling his body, not knowing that Eito was already aware of his plan as a coy smile etched across his face, “Well then, since you are helping me out so much, do you want me to join you? Or?”

Eito could barely hide back a smile. Takumi was quite desperate, wasn’t he? “Give me a second to finish up. You can get washed up in my bathroom.”

Takumi’s face lit up at that, before scurrying off from view.

He doubted that Takumi had done any planning outside of getting pregnant, so it had to fall to Eito to make up for his lack of accountability. After all, having a child was going to be a hassle. It would scream, make messes, and would cause a permanent shift in their lives, but at least Eito could become more prepared for the changes.

But that was for later, right now he had to ravage Takumi.

Exiting the bathroom, he found Takumi naked, a towel clumsily thrown to the side and his barely wet hair evidence of his shower. Eito blinked at him, surprised he didn’t hear Takumi but he was occupied with his own thoughts, “You were quick. I didn’t realize you had become so desperate, you almost look like a horny dog.”

“Come on, Eito,” Takumi said, Eito could read the whininess of his tone, pressing his fingers against Takumi’s hole. Despite having gloves on, Eito could tell the wetness bubbling from it, a smirk growing on his face as Takumi yelped in surprise, “Ah! Eito!”

“Luckily for you, I’m a desperate dog as well,” Eito said, pushing Takumi onto the bed and found his teeth latching onto Takumi’s skin. One on his neck, collarbone, and chest, Eito kept biting Takumi, their purpose to punish or reward Takumi blurred together with their moans.

Takumi as he was getting mauled at, unbuttoned and pushed away Eito’s top before focusing on taking his pants off. As his hard dick was revealed, Eito grabbed Takumi’s hips and flipped him to his stomach.

At times, he was a bit disappointed with Takumi’s lack of growth in height. Partially so he wouldn’t have to bend down so often, but times like these, Eito was practically elated how easily he could squish Takumi under him. His hands overlapping Takumi’s, his torso pressing against Takumi’s back, his legs pinning Takumi’s under him, Takumi was entirely pinned to the helpless as Eito entered into Takumi’s warmth.

Certain, unpleasant sensations filled him for a moment, bubbling up in his gut to be unleashed but instead he snapped his hips into Takumi, gaining a sharp moan in return. He kept at that quick, punishing pace, his loose pants rubbing against Takumi’s skin. No doubt he would feel it tomorrow with how red it was getting.

Takumi agreed with his moans getting louder as Eito kept pounding as fast he could. He could feel he was getting closer which he let out a noise of frustration at. He can’t be the first one to cum, not at a moment like this.

He forced his mind from the situation and the warmth clinging to his body and thought about anything. About stinky babies, how something else would take attention from Takumi, but god damnit, whatever child would come out of Takumi would be their baby and Eito would care for it until he dropped dead. Eito thought about humanity who were still a thorn in their side for over a decade now and how they were just finally admitting defeat after wasting all of their resources. He would have been more than happy wiping them out if Takumi said it wasn’t right.

A sound of pain from Takumi broke Eito from his thoughts, making him realize he was squeezing his hands too tightly. Any more and well-- their general might have a hand surgery, he was sure Yugamu would have a lot of questions for him. It was a mercy when the tale showed signs of Takumi orgasming soon. Eito powered through it, Takumi moaning loudly as he came and Eito gave in a few punishing thrusts before cumming himself.

Hopefully that will contribute to Takumi’s goals, if they haven’t been achieved yet. They would know in a few weeks after all.

Takumi was tired.

It was a sentiment he had his entire life, but now, buried under stacks and stacks of paperwork, Takumi was truly, brain dead tired. He would rather be back fighting against V’ehxness every single day than dealing with this amount of paperwork in his lifetime.

Unfortunately it was a necessary evil if they wanted to sign this peace treaty, but God why did the Artificial Satellite have to an ungodly amount of it to make them admit that they fucked up with starting this war.

At least it was going to come to an end with celebration days away, Takumi just needed to survive through this paperwork, but it didn’t mean all of this was exactly good for his other plan.

To say he was a bit nervous about how it was shaping was an understatement. It wasn’t a lack of trying either, with his increased libido and Eito seeming to get hornier by the day, Takumi was certain they were making rabbits jealous. Now days away from the supposed deadline and Takumi has gotten no symptoms! No vomiting and, well--

Yeah, he only knew about morning sickness being the ultimate tell of pregnancy, but all he had the past few days was soreness, exhaustion, and barely eating on top of it. Takumi let out another heavy sigh as he felt stress was going to kill him.

“What’s going on?” Kamyuhn said as she entered his office, throwing more paperwork on his desk. Great, more work to strangle him to death. Hizzah.

“Ugh, just sore. I think my age is catching up to me,” Takumi said before pushing his lower back as he straightened his posture. It and his chest were sore lately, it was becoming annoying at this point, “What’s going on?”

“I--,” Kamyuhn stopped herself before she started him for a moment. Her eyes seemed to be studying him before she looked away. Was her face red? Takumi couldn’t tell but why would her face be red? “I think you should see a doctor.”

“Huh? Why? Over a sore back? I’m not going to die, Kamyuhn,” Takumi said, his voice was lightly teasing but she wasn’t looking at him, “Am I dying?”

“No-- well. I don’t think so. I would check on it and maybe talk to Eito about something?” She trailed off. Takumi stared at her with wide eyes, barely able to process what she said before it finally clicked.

Oh? But how could she--

OH.

“Do you mind if I leave early?” Takumi said but he was already getting his stuff and halfway through the door as he asked.

“Huh-- what about the paperwork!?” She screamed at him as he started to sprint in the hallways. He had an important test to take after all.

Honestly, the double lines on the stick confirmed what Kamyuhn had hinted earlier, but it didn’t drive away the feeling Takumi had been feeling.

All of this time, after all of this work, seeing those two lines felt like an accomplishment, but Takumi couldn’t bask in it for too long. He had to tell Eito and he couldn’t look happy doing so. No doubt he would be home soon due to Kamyuhn complaining that Takumi ran out on her.

Staring into the mirror, Takumi looked at himself. He wasn’t a good actor, he was aware of how Eito could read him better than those books, but Takumi had to be convincing. He needed to be upset, he needed to be distressed, he needed to cry.

Digging his fingers into the porcelain, Takumi closed his eyes as he summoned all of the awful, terrible, horrible memories he experienced for his entire life. Losing his companions, Nozomi, Shion twice. Eito’s betrayal, learning the truth of where they came from. The hardships and trials they had to face in order to be accepted by the Futurans and the losses they had to face after the hundred days. Opening his eyes, tears started to form from his eyes, he let them trip down his face and to the sink below.

If Eito didn’t walk in to see him crying, the red, puffy eyes would be clear what happened, but Takumi luckily didn’t have to wait long.

A knock of the door interrupted his thoughts, Eito’s voice behind it as he said “Hey? Takumi? Kamyuhn called me, said that you ran out of the office. Said I should be the one to go and check on you.”

Hitching his breath, it was time. Takumi let the silence soak in for a moment, before Eito could say anything more, Takumi made his voice shaky as he said, “Everything is fine, go away.”

“What? What’s going on? Please? Can you let me in?” Eito said, his voice soft but Takumi could hear him pleading. With that, Takumi slowly opened the door, letting Eito see his red face and tear steak glory, Eito’s eyes softening at the sight, “What happened?”

“Ah, it’s nothing,” Takumi tried to play it off as usual, Eito gave him a ‘cut the bullshit’ expression as expected. Takumi let out a sigh, “It’s just-- you know how I’ve been feeling lately? Kamyuhn said I should go to the doctor. But since you know what we have been doing, I thought, before going to the doctor, I should just do this test to get it out of the way and--”

Takumi cut himself off. Eito tried to make him continue but Takumi sheepishly showed him the positive pregnancy test. Eito’s reaction was instant, eyes widening as he saw it before looking back to Takumi as the realization sunk in, “You’re pregnant?”

“Yeah,” Takumi nodded a bit as more tears streamed down his face, “You don’t want this do you? Sure, you like me and the others from the Special Defense Unit and the Futurans, but I know you don’t want kids now or ever. It’s just--”

Eito cut Takumi off, grabbing him by the shoulders as he said, “With one of them, yes, but you’re different, Takumi. I care for you and-- I love you. I want to keep the baby if you want to. It’s your body but with the end of this war… I would want to start a family with you.”

Takumi stared up at Eito with genuine shock on his face, tears stopping as he tried to study Eito. There wasn’t any hidden agenda behind this, right? No secret plan? This-- this was better than he expected. Takumi tried to keep the happiness off his face as he looked away from Eito to hide his expression better, “I-- thank you, Eito. I want to keep the baby too, I just was. I guess I was just scared of your reaction.”

“Oh, stupid Takumi,” Eito said with a playful tone in his voice, “I would never reject you or a part of you. Our baby is a part of both of us.”

Takumi gave a nod, hugging Eito tight as he secretly exposed his smug smile. His ruse was successfully pulled off, not noticing the smug look that Eito had on his face.

It was the night of the freedom celebration did Takumi had the time to relax. As much as one could at a big dinner with everyone involved in the final fight, one big excuse to get drunk and dance away the night. It was supposedly one last hurrah for the Special Defense Unit, but Takumi knew they would stick together. He would figure out a way for all of them since he got Eito attached to him.

Takumi sat down after his speech, taking another sip from his non-alcoholic drink after settling next to Eito. A part of him wanted to get drunk with the others, but this was safer for the baby. Besides, he would probably be better by cutting back on the alcohol for good. He knew too well how it hurt him before and how much Eito had to clean up his messes.

As the meal went on, Takumi could feel eyes on him, almost studying him as time went on. He knew who it was, Yugamu who was almost across from him, was watching with a slivering look on his face, smugly taking a drink before he pounced, “Takumi, are you feeling alright?”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Takumi asked, the conversations around them not stopping but he noticed Eito watching them.

“I heard from Kamyuhn that you were having troubles lately, and I noticed that you aren’t having any alcohol today. Do you have something to share with us?” Yugamu said, his grin getting bigger as Takumi's eyes widened.

Takumi froze. Did Yugamu know? How could he know, Eito and him had been keeping it on the downlow because of how early in the pregnancy and the chances of miscarriage was still high. There was nothing that could indicate that Takumi was pregnant--

Oh god, the pills. Yugamu probably noticed that Takumi didn’t get his birth control and noticed the missing fertility pills. He could easily bring them up and entirely ruin Takumi’s plan if it wasn’t for one person.

“I guess we couldn’t keep it a secret much longer,” Eito took the lead after letting out a sigh, startling Takumi from spewing curses in his brain. Wrapping an arm around Takumi’s shoulders and a hand on his stomach, he said, “We are expecting a baby!”

The reaction that followed was expected. A series of shouts from everyone except Yugamu who had a smug look on his face, Hiruko who was casually sipping her wine, and Kamyuhn who was burying her head in her hands. The worst was Gaku, standing up from the table and shouting, “What!? No way, dude! A baby!? With him! How!?”

“Well, the normal way two people would have a baby,” Ima remarked after he himself calmed down, “Although I would have thought they would share their relationship with everyone before a baby announcement.”

“Yeah. I have personally assumed that Eito and Takumi have been in a relationship for years now, but you guys should have told us that before the baby announcement. That way we could have heard good relationship drama. You need to share!” Kako said, huffing as she took another drink as her cheeks were becoming a bright red.

“Yeah. I don’t know about that? It sounds like a hook up more than anything. Which is alright and all, but still,” Takemaru rebutted, Takumi almost wanted to take that option but he was too late.

“Oh please, have none of you looked at the records?” Hiruko said snidely, “Takumi and Eito have been married for a while.”

“What!?” Gaku, Takumi, and some others shouted, “How did that happen?!”

It was Takumi thinking as he looked back at Eito’s growing grin. Kamyuhn was the one to answer, “They eloped a few years ago. I only know because I handle paperwork. Although it does explain their sudden vacation a while back.”

Moko let out a sigh, “And you didn’t tell us?It would have been nice to see a ceremony. There is nothing more romantic than seeing a wedding!”

“Is it so surprising? Eito hates big celebrations,” Tsubasa said, her face scrunched in judgement over the others, “Still, it would have been nice to at least get a verbal confirmation. You guys really need to get better at communication.”

Takumi couldn’t get a word in with Eito saying, “We decided to keep it a secret because we didn’t want to distract from the war. After all, we wanted to have something connected between us at the time. Now we are having a baby!”

“Yeah,” Takumi trailed off as he gave a look to Eito that amounted to ‘we need to talk about this later’ as he said, “I hope you guys will be good aunts and uncles to the baby.”

“When were you going to tell me we were legally married?” Takumi started when they got out of the restaurant and out of earshot.

“When were you going to tell me you were going to babytrap me?” Eito shot back with a smile. Takumi stiffened, “Stupid, little Takumi. You can’t hide stuff like that from me.”

“So you really did know from the beginning,” Takumi let out a huff. He really thought he was giving his best performance but that belonged to Eito once again. Even after all of these years, he still fell for it regarding Eito.

Eito hummed, “After I saw the fertility pills in your birth control, yes. I’m not mad, it did help with getting this little on here.”

He gave a good pat to Takumi’s stomach. Burying a flinch, Takumi had to ask the obvious question, “So why did you get us married?”

“Well, I’m not sure of your reasons given you haven’t told me,” Eito said, almost childishly as he seemed to pout, “But if your reason was to stay attached to me then I could say they are similar. I wanted to make sure you couldn’t get rid of me that easily, Takumi.”

A scenario flashed in front of Takumi’s eyes of him discovering this marriage over a decade ago, getting so angry that it resulted in being dragged into a multi-year legal battle with Eito as the spiteful almost-divorce spouse from hell, eventually the divorce being decided who could win a fist fight in the back of the courtroom.

Letting a shudder slip past him, Takumi was happy he was on Eito’s side regarding their relationship. Although… “Do you think Tsubasa is right about us getting better at communication?”

“No,” Eito said, pulling him close enough to kiss him, “I like us better this way.”
