Chapter 1: The End isn't The End

Chapter Text

"This ends, for all of us, end communication"

Michael sat back in his chair as he listened to Henry finish his speech, he kicked his feet up on the desk and watched idly as the fire in his office kept spreading.

'I hope this really is the end' he thought to himself 'I'm so tired of all of this' he could hear the angry yelling of his father and the metallic screams of the animatronics 'but I think you were wrong on your count Henry, I know my father is going to hell and I'll make sure to drag him down with me if I have to, because I know I'm going too'

The flames rose higher, hungrily licking at his rotten skin 'Evan, Elizabeth, Charlie, Henry, I hope you can all rest in peace' he smiled, closing his eyes for what he hoped was the last time 'I'm sorry for being such a terrible older brother Evan, it's time I got what I deserve and I'll make sure father does as well'

Michael let all the tension leave his body, the fire burning him away, he could hear the screams dying down, he knew what that meant, that hopefully the souls trapped here were finally being released.

"It's finally over" he mumbled as his awareness slipped away.

Michael felt himself slowly return to consciousness, as if waking up from a long sleep, he forced his eyes open, he knew he shouldn't be asleep, it had become impossible for him to do since he'd been scooped.

Looking around, the area was pitch black, as if no light ever shined here before, vaguely he could make out figures that looked like other people around him, "are these…"he tried to speak only for no sound to be heard, shaken slightly he continued with his train of thought 'are these the souls released in the fire?'

As he focused on one particular figure, he didn't know how but he knew it was his father, he had to concentrate on getting closer, he felt like he was moving through molasses, there was large resistance against even a small twitch.

As he neared his father two lights appeared in either direction, a golden one that evoked a sense of calm and a red one that glowed ominously, he knew what they were, Heaven and Hell, the appearance of these lights seemed to stir the other figures awake, but didn't illuminate anyone's features.

Michael could see his father struggling trying to move away from the red light that seemingly was trying to pull him in, Michael refused to let his father escape punishment, he grabbed his father's figure and began to drag him away, ignoring to tugging he could feel in the opposite direction, he chalked it up to his father's struggling, he ignored all the other figures and focused all his will into dragging his father to hell, eventually the light engulfed them both.

Charlie Morningstar had come up with an idea last night and despite her desire to lie in bed with her girlfriend, she wanted to get up early to accomplish it.

Slowly she untangled herself from her girlfriend, Vaggie's, arms and slid a large goat plush into her place, after taking a second to snap a picture of the scene on her phone and leave a note, as to not worry Vaggie with her absence, she was dressed and out the door, signalling for her faithful companions Razzle and Dazzle to follow her.

Her unofficial bodyguards flew behind her, as she headed down to the ground floor she went over her idea in her head 'step one, go to some of the poorer parts of Hell' she thought to herself 'step two, tell the sinners about the positives about staying at the hotel, like shelter and friendship, step three, say other sinners are already on board the path to redemption'

By the time she thought it over she was ready to hop in her family's car and have her friends drive her to see the sinners and hopefully bring new guests back to the hotel with her 'this is gonna be a good day'

St. Peter stood by the gates of heaven as always, he checked the book for what souls were due to arrive and allowed people entry.

Two figures appeared at the gate before him, one was a small boy with short brown hair and a golden bear mask with a purple top hat, he wore a black polo shirt with a purple bow tie, blue shorts and brown shoes.

The other was a young girl with long brown hair, her skin was snow white with two purple tear lines down her face and red cheeks, she was wearing a black sweater with three white buttons on the chest and three white stripes on the forearms, a pair of blue jeans, green and white sneakers and a green bracelet on her right wrist.

They both looked confused, but they seemed to recognize each other if the tear filled hug was anything to go by.

"Hello there" he greeted cheerfully, drawing their attention, he was a little saddened by the wary looks he received and the defensive stance the girl took in front of the boy "I'm Peter, can I have your names please?"

"Why?" the girl asked "where are we?"

"Well these are Heaven's gates" he answered "and I need to check the book so that I know you're in the right place"

The two looked at each other for a moment before having a whispered conversation, Peter looked down at the book to see what arrivals were supposed to happen for today, he frowned when he saw three names when there was only two people here.

"So…" the girl started, drawing Peter's attention back to her "I'm Charlotte Emily, but I prefer Charlie"

"I'm… Evan Afton" said the boy rather timidly, his hands making a move to grasp for something that wasn't there.

Peter checked the page in front him and sure enough, their names were right there, alongside another who wasn't with them.

"Your names are here" he replied "but would you happen to know a "Michael Afton"? He's supposed to be here too"

'So today hasn't had the best start' Charlie thought with a frown as another sinner refused to even hear her out 'but I'm sure I can turn it around'

Before she could tell Razzle and Dazzle to drive a loud noise, like snapping metal, drew her attention, looking out the car window she what looked like a large fireball heading towards the Doomsday District.

"There's no meteor showers scheduled for this week" she muttered "someone could get seriously hurt, Razzle, Dazzle, to the Doomsday District"

With cheerful nods the two small goats obeyed the command and started driving.

Michael immediately became aware if the sensation of falling, as he kept his hold on his father, he vision blurring as the two Aftons went hurtling to the ground.

Crashing hard enough to leave a crater, the two men stared at each other, Michael couldn't help but be confused, the being before him was clearly his father but, his appearance was different then he'd ever seen him.

He looked like the old Spring Bonnie suit, but organic in a way, the golden finish had a slight green tint to it now, he wore a white button down shirt with a purple tie and purple business trousers, but his metal feet were bare.

"What the hell…?" Michael muttered in confusion, before he could make any kind of move towards his father or even look around, a new voice intervened.

"Leave my daddy alone!" cried the voice, he instantly knew as his little sister.

Before he could turn to look, a large metal claw clamped down around his neck, it's teeth piercing the skin deeply, he let out a cry of shock and was thrown off his feet and into the crater wall behind him.

Dazed, he stared at where his sister would be and saw her, she looked like the same child he remembered from before her death only much taller, her ginger hair now tied into pigtails like Baby's, her green eyes were the same, but her skin was pure white with red cheeks, he clothes matched the look Baby had in the Pizza Place and her right hand was replaced with the giant metal claw the animatronic had used to kill her.

"E-Elizabeth…" he choked out, coughing up blood.

"Good work Elizabeth" William smiled "but we should finish up before leaving"

"William!" a man at the crater's edge yelled.

Michael recognized Henry's voice with despair 'no, Henry, you and Elizabeth should be in Heaven'

William looked away from Michael and frowned "we should leave for now Elizabeth"

"Okay daddy" she smiled before turning to look at him with an upset expression, as the two Aftons left the crater behind them, Michael heard others moving towards him.

"Eggs, are you okay?" Henry's voice asked, as the man and five figures with him moved closer, Michael's vision faded as consciousness left him.
