Work Text:
If there was any lesson Valarr’s father had taught him, it was that anything worth doing was worth doing with one’s wits about them.
In fairness, having Baelor Targaryen as a father made him especially certain that he should probably take that to heart. The Targaryen Family had always been fabulously wealthy thanks to their business interests, but Baelor had proven shrewd enough to nearly double their annual revenue and diversify their interests to keep that growth going. That said, Valarr had always thought his father was the smartest man he knew since he could understand that concept.
Tonight, however, had little to do with business know-how or anything sensible Baelor had tried to impart to his son. Valarr considered it an exception to the rule, though he was fairly sure that excuse wouldn’t hold if he was called on it.
“Another shot?” Daenys said as she took up the bottle and tipped it in Valarr’s direction.
“Sure, why not?”
He’d already had more than he’d usually take, but he considered tonight a special occasion.
“Ok, but it’s your last” Daenys warned.
“You’re cutting me off?” Valarr asked with a surprised glance his cousin’s way.
“No, we’re just out of booze” Daenys answered before pouring a bit into Valarr’s glass and then heavily into her own until the last drops fell into her cup, laughing as she saw Valarr watching her.
“Well then…” Valarr chuckled before they both drained their glasses.
Their glasses clinked together and they looked into each other's eyes, Valarr looking away nervously and Daenys scooting a bit closer to him. They weren’t quite touching, not yet, but that could change, they had made it easy for each other to start. When they thought about it, “easy” was the perfect word for it, exactly what they needed with each other living lives where nobody ever did the courtesy of much ease.
It seemed like it was shaping up to be such a happy evening, a smile on both their faces.
“Thank you for inviting me over, cousin” Daenys murmured, the previous three drinks beginning to get her violet eyes bleary and her speech clumsy.
Valarr had always been a fool for when her voice went soft like that, it sounded so pleasant when he was sober, and was positively musical when he wasn’t.
Daenys glanced down at his lips, reminding him he had smudges of her balm just above his chin. Not very tidy or orderly of him, but it was Daenys’ fault for pressing him to the wall as soon as the door was shut and throwing herself at him, though Valarr was by no means complaining. Being greeted with a quick kiss wasn’t exactly what he was expecting, but it certainly started his night off on a positive note, to say the least.
“Of course, you know I had to have you back” he stated simply, summing up everything he was feeling as he stared at her.
Valarr had been seeing Daenys for maybe half a year or so now, though not very frequently. Dating was quite the right label for it, but it was a somewhat established thing, they supposed, getting together whenever they had free time for it. Valarr was kept quite busy with his work, trying to live up to his father’s lofty example and imitate his hard work. Daenys had been out of town anyway, sent away for a week or two to handle some project by their grandfather, though it had really been a way to get her out of the city and away from the “bad influences” she’d been subject to and back on the straight and narrow.
Daenys sometimes chafed at being the so-called problem child of the family who needed micromanaging and constant scrutiny to stay on task, just as much as Valarr struggled to maintain his persona as clean dutiful son learning from his father’s successes. Still, these were the roles they were cast into now, their fates were sealed years ago after a few simple actions solidified them. Even at opposite ends of their twenties, both were already viewed to be on set paths in life, as far as their families were considered. They didn’t know it at the time, they weren’t even sure if they really chose anything about it, but it was done now.
Of course, all of that definitely went out the window now that both of them were sitting together, a bottle of rum gone, a pack of edibles emptied, a gram of flower smoked between them, and two bags of fast food eaten. Roles didn’t matter quite so much for the moment, hands almost touching, and nobody around to stop them from anything.
The fact that they were cousins would be scandalous to most, but that was almost nothing when it came to Targaryens. No, it was instead the fact that Daenys was viewed as too fond of partying and drinking for the family’s liking, that her carelessness would be contagious to a hard working team player like Valarr. Her father was her harshest critic, demanding more out of all of his children, though Baelor disapproved all the same in his gentler, more polite way. Naturally, Daenys’ opinion on it didn’t matter, she just had to accept that everyone got to offer their commentary and debate amongst themselves who was right or wrong, that was completely normal behavior.
Even still, that hadn’t stopped Daenys from making a pass at Valarr at their grandfather’s birthday party and making out behind the poolhouse, nor had it stopped things progressing from there the few times they’d met up since then. If anyone ever found out, they’d probably say Daenys instigated it, she always took the blame, though the truth was she was the one with the courage to actually go for it and all Valarr had to do was say yes to her and enjoy what came after.
It would be one thing if Daenys just saw Valarr as a shortcut, someone who’d give her drinks, drugs, and sex, but it truly wasn’t like that. He was good to her, never giving her too much without judging her for wanting to have some fun, he wanted her happy without just completely going overboard.
People didn’t get it, why she drank so much, why she smoked, they just didn’t understand how terrible it was, and Daenys could never get them to understand the burden of the dreams. Surrounded by fire, dragons soaring through the air and swooping down on her, cities burning to ash, oceans of blood drowning her, it was no less terrifying since the nightmares started when she was a girl, and always coming true in some way. Seeing her uncle strangled by snakes weeks before he choked to death, watching huge hunks of metal grinding and crushing bits of human flesh before his great-aunt was in a car accident that put her in hospital for a month, or even just the useless horrors that didn’t even seem to mean anything and just came to her anyway.
When she told people about her dreams, about how anxious they made her, the things she saw, how drinking seemed like the only thing that stopped them, everyone just thought she was mad. Her counselors either merely tried to explain them away or give her tablets that never helped. It was never like that with her cousin, she wasn’t a problem or a pathology or a charity case, she was just herself, struggling and in need of someone who saw her without looking through her.
With her cousin, she was happy, he was happy with her, and Daenys was ok so long as they were together, almost, nearly ok, where she knew things could be normal for a while.
In that vein, Valarr took his father’s advice, just probably not the way he’d meant it. Dispensary, liquor store, home to arrange food delivery, he’d spent the few hours before Daenys showed up gathering what he’d need, carefully planning his route and his spending before he’d gone. Not so much, all things considered, he didn’t overdo it, but plenty to ensure they were having a good time. The kiss he got when she walked in the door felt like the first reward because of that, that he’d done well and had taken care of things well enough to earn this.
Gods, if the rest of the family could see them, watching garbage on TV as they got high and slammed down drinks. It was probably nothing new amongst their family, truthfully, but ever since their grandfather took the CEO spot, there has been a bit of a preoccupation on cultivating a “cleaner image”. But what room did they have to judge? As if a drink never touched Baelor’s lips, as if Maekar had never let loose a little in his free time, the notion was ridiculous!
They were alone anyway, nobody was going to see anything. Daenys had dealt with her share of scandal and family embarrassments, tonight was not going to be one of them, nor would it be some major shock compared to Valarr’s straight-laced behavior. This wasn’t going to be anything anyone besides them got to label, they had no right to make something so easy more difficult.
“I’m impressed, cousin” Daenys mentioned suddenly, pulling Valarr from an empty headed moment.
“Hm?”
“You got Lysene vodka, I didn't even need to tell you it was my favorite.”
Valarr smirked with satisfaction as he swallowed another chip that had been left in the bag.
“Because I already knew.”
“You got it just for me, then?”
“For us to share” he corrected.
“Oh, of course, of course” Daenys responded with a tinge of sarcasm “I’m sure you just felt like buying one of the most explosive liquors because you’re such a fine connoisseur of how well it pairs with pot and Bojaime’s combo meals”, punctuating by reaching over and stealing the last of Valarr’s chips.
Valarr never could be quite certain how cutting Daenys meant to be, but he supposed it didn’t matter so long as she was here and seemed glad to be with him. No need to doubt, no need to worry, all he had to do was enjoy having her back, he tried to remember that and just let the calculating side of his mind take the night off for once.
“Is it a bad thing to be thoughtful?”
“I’m just saying, Val” Daenys said, making a face as if she was trying to be wise and tease at the same time “I appreciate it, don’t get me wrong, you just…don’t have to worry about being perfect for me…I’m not trying to stress you out.”
“I wanted to be a good host” he shrugged before turning to face her and amending his statement “I wanted you to be happy with me tonight, you’re…it was important to me that tonight go right.”
“And when does this ever go wrong?” she asked with an amused smile. Maybe it wasn’t a fair question, they hadn’t seen each other more than a handful of times, but she hoped that tonight would help calm these fears he carried around about them.
“Never, but…It’s just been a while and…it makes me worried when you come over…”
Daenys was flattered, honestly, being complimented like that hadn’t lost its luster. By rights, she’d been given plenty of empty praise from desperate lads and ladies looking to end their night at the pub by taking her home, but she knew Valarr meant it when he spoke to her. She saw it in those pretty mismatched eyes of his, in the way he acted, he wasn’t just saying things. Ego boost aside, he looked absolutely adorable when he was anxious around her, shifty and doe-eyed, the blue of one iris soaking in the light and the hazel one almost gleaming when she looked at him.
“How very sweet of you.”
“I mean….would it be pathetic to say I try extra hard…for you?”
“Oh my gods…” Daenys sputtered and chuckled “getting fucked up really loosens your lips, doesn’t it?”
“I mean it, though” Valarr insisted, sweet in that quiet vulnerable way, “I’m not joking or anything.”
“No, I know you’re not, it's just…” Daenys paused for a moment “it’s nice of you, I’m not really…used to it, the way people talk to me…or about me.”
“Well, I’m not like them, then” Valarr answered as proudly as one could sitting on a couch already high as a handful of shots crept up on him.
“I thought you wanted to be mister business man like your dad, though” Daenys pointed out “or like my dad, follow in their footsteps and be just like them.”
It was true, that was the ambition Valarr had set for himself since he was young. At least, he thought he had, he couldn’t really be sure if it was his or just given to him by his family. It made him happy, that much felt true, thinking that his father would be proud of him, that he’d get the praise at Targaryen functions or in their industry that was all Baelor’s for now, he knew that was true. But what about Daenys? Was he just supposed to follow that same shaming and distancing in lockstep with them?
It was easy for his father, his marriage never came with any difficulties, nor his uncle and aunt’s, at least none that were ever seen. It wasn’t so easy to be with Daenys, she needed more help than some, but Seven knew it was so worth it to Valarr.
“Sometimes…you have to be your own man, and I like you more than whatever stupid pride makes them act this way towards you.”
“Now, that was a very good answer” she laughed.
Daenys shifted her legs to shimmy a little closer to Valarr and then felt her shorts strain, certain they’d rip if she wasn't careful.
“Godsdammit! Fucking things…”
“Eh?”
“Nothing, just, my shit doesn’t fit right anymore.”
Daenys was honest enough with herself to know that was her fault, gaining two stone in 3 months, if not from drinking after work, then smoking and eating snacks all day when she was off.
“Oh, well…I’m sorry” Valarr replied, though he knew there’s no way that would be enough to make things better, figuring a bad response was better than none.
Daenys snarled with annoyance and gave him a clipped “It’s life” before trying to calm herself down. If the counseling she’d been forced into had done anything, it had at least taught her to at least talk herself out of getting too upset by these minor annoyances.
If Valarr could have lent her something, he could have fixed things, he could have helped. He tried not to be too hard on himself, he’d always heard that was useless, but it seemed like such a small problem and somehow it irked him more to be confronted by something he had so little control over.
He was pulled from that line of thought, however, when Daenys sighed and spoke up.
“Father says the drinking has made me fat and the weed has made me stupid…I’m sure the old prat would consider this validation of both…”
Maekar Targaryen didn’t have a reputation as the warmest man in the world, as his children knew quite well. He was a plain talker and was proud of it, though his children were often on the receiving end of that plainness, no matter how much it hurt to hear. Daenys didn’t need to hear that her drinking was making her fat or that getting high left her mind foggy, she already knew, but Gods only know her father never missed a chance to tell her so.
She’d have said she’d kill for a father like her uncle Baelor, but that’d be a lie. She already known Valarr’s father merely kept his disapproval quiet and veiled behind careful words. Hells, aside from everything else, all the time she spent with him only confirmed how her father and his agreed exactly about her. Baelor wanted to be kind to his niece who required supervision, Maekar wanted to get his fuck-up of a daughter to wake up. The opinions sounded different, but both clearly saw Daenys only as the humiliation she caused the family.
Her cousin, however, could not have disagreed more. She could not have deserved this treatment less, if he had anything to say about it. No wonder she drank the way she did, the pressure their family put on her would drive anybody to it, and that was besides the dreams she’d dealt with for years and years.
He would do anything to help her, to do something useful, something more than just adding numbers to the corporate bank account or increasing the Targaryen name’s caché. Being good to Daenys did something real, he could hold her tight, he could see the smile he put on her face, and he could have those moments of togetherness to remember. That made all the difference, placing her above everything else for him, reminding him what it was all for every time he shut his eyes and thought of her.
Valarr thought about something eloquent and assuring to say, but found that he was a bit too intoxicated to manage that, exactly.
“I wish Maekar would just take it fucking easy on you.”
“Eh?”
“You’re not stupid at all, Daenys, that’s ridiculous.”
Daenys perked up immediately at that. Once again, Valarr couldn’t magically repair every wrong that plagued her, but it was the little things like this that made things alright for the moment, which was all she needed when she was low.
When he looked at her a moment or two later, she was smiling.
“Oh, but I’m fat, is that it?” she chuckled just after, lent the energy for that small bit of levity by Valarr’s kindness.
“‘No, no, I didn’t mean it that way!” Valarr answered, taking the opportunity to throw in a bit of a flirt with the tone of his voice and ended with “You’re just…quite curvy, nothing wrong with that…the opposite, actually.”
Daenys then set down her cup and turned to Valarr.
“And…do you like me curvy?”
Valarr wasn’t quite sure how to answer that, not because it was a hard question, but because he hadn’t truly thought about it. He liked her when she was thinner than now, that was true, but he’d felt a certain something more when he saw her with a few more pounds on her, if he was being honest. She was softer to the touch, warmer beside him, and of course, made his pulse quicken a little bit more when he saw her. The “why” of it wasn’t something Valarr had devoted too much consideration towards, but when his cousin asked him if he liked her this way, he knew the answer was yes.
So, he supplied as easy an answer as he could, feeling the nerves beginning to work on him.
“Isn’t that obvious? I can’t keep my eyes off of you now, you’re just…you’ve always been beautiful, but now….”
Chuckling to herself, she began to twirl his streak of silver hair around her finger.
“Well, yes, it’s obvious…I just want to hear you say it.”
Valarr tried to respond as confidently as he could, though he felt more anxious by the second. Not a bad sort of anxiety, of course, but one that made talking a little difficult.
“Well…now you have…”
Daenys gave him a curious look, eager for more.
“Then maybe I should come a little closer and hear what else you have to say.”
Daenys was up a moment later, approaching on her hands and knees, staring hard at him with a smirk on her lips, running her hands from his ankles up his legs as she crawled towards him.
“I’m hot, then, am I?” she questioned “I’m everything you want and more? That old line?”
“Cousin, I…I think you’re beautiful, you know that” Valarr answered in a shaky voice. He still wasn’t quite used to having Daenys come onto him, not having had much experience with relationships before her. Still, it seemed Daenys would demonstrate everything he needed.
“I hope so, ‘cause I was hoping you would show it.”
“S-show it?” he stammered back quietly, feeling hands shaking as he reached out to touch her arm when she was close enough.
Daenys supposed, since her smart boy wasn’t acting quite so smart, she should be quite clear as she came a little closer.
“Fuck me, Valarr. Let’s take everything off and have some fun.”
Admittedly, that wasn’t the most familiar thing for them. Although they’d been together for months now, they’d only slept together once in all that time. They’d done a lot of other stuff together, with Daenys more or less getting eaten out on demand by Valarr and Valarr likewise got the best blowjobs he’d ever had from her. Sex wasn’t quite everything there was to their relationship, whatever they’d call it, but the desire between them always needed some sort of outlet and they wouldn’t stop just because their family maybe probably would disapprove.
Not exactly an ordinary relationship between cousins, but again, it was nothing terribly shocking among Taragryens. At least, it might not have been, but they really had no idea yet, considering that they’d been keeping their little get-togethers under wraps. It seemed like the best thing for it, there was no need to expose themselves to whatever objections or lectures being found out would lead to.
But they didn’t need to worry about that right now, the door was locked, the phones were turned off, and it would just be them tonight.
“You know, I was especially excited for this time” Daenys mentioned as she studied his face and nuzzled his cheek, humming softly while his hand dropped to her thigh.
“Why?”
“Because I dreamt of you again” she explained “it usually is awful, something scary or terrible happening, but this time, it was just you and I, kissing, saying how much we love each other.”
With his eyes fixed on her, he hardly noticed she’d stripped him of his jeans until he felt the rush of her against his legs and her nails just above his knees.
“Yeah?” he asked as he slipped them all the way off, sending them tumbling to the ground.
“Yes” she confirmed, the hiss her quiet answer ended on sending a shiver up Valarr’s whole body “I woke up so happy that day, I was almost worried I would need to beg to see you…but you saved me the trouble, didn’t you?”
“mhmm…”
At that point, Daenys slipped his shirt off, sliding her hand beneath the undershirt he had on and gently brushed against his chest.
“My dreams come true, cousin, how about yours?”
Her touch seared right at the spot her hand had landed, resonating all over his body. Valarr was shaking now, he was sure of it, full on trembling as she climbed on top of him. It was so difficult to explain, the contradiction that made him so nervous, how intimidating Daenys was yet how comfortable he was with her. She was fierce, smart, beautiful, all of it at the same time every moment they were together. Ever since that night she first kissed him, it had been constant, going unspoken before that but still being so real. She hadn’t started anything he hadn’t wanted, all she did was give permission for him to be that part of himself that had always been there, that’s all she’d ever done with him.
All that said, Valarr looked her in the eye and smiled softly before he answered.
“You’ve made it happen.”
Considering that as good a time as any, Daenys leaned forward just enough to let their lips glance, making him work for it after the first gentle kiss to sit up and do it properly. After that, either losing her balance or wanting to close that last bit of distance, she eased herself down onto her cousin.
The bite of the rum, the savory depth of their food, the sweetness of the sugar coating gummies, they tasted everything at once on one another, taste melting into feeling as they shut their eyes and let their kiss go on, unable to stop themselves.
Daenys shuddered when she felt his hand reach her stomach, stroking it and circling her navel with his thumb. She’d always thought that was the most repellent part of her now, that she was meant to be pudgy and unsightly, yet he touched her so lovingly despite that. She would never get tired of how it broke the sorrow, making it all feel so far away.
“Val…touch me…just like that” she pleaded.
“I will…I’ll…be good for you” Valarr muttered as kissed her neck, feeling every inch of her that he could, trying to drive away all the sadness his cousin carried with her. It was for him too, he was i on fire then the same way she was, but there was nothing wrong with that.
“I love you…so much” she murmured in response before biting his bottom lip gently and brushing her hand against his cock through his boxers. There was such intensity here, Daenys never felt it with anyone but him. Arousal pooling between her hips was the least of it, her head felt like it was spinning, her heart was beating a million miles a minute, she felt like she had liquid fire burning beneath her skin. All Valarr did was be himself, yet he was better for her than anyone in the world.
Daenys rose and pulled off her top then, her breasts jostling as she threw it off to the side, her powder-pink nipples inches from Valarr’s face as she sat up.
“Kiss them” she demanded, shoving his face against her chest and breathing sharply as he suckled one and grabbed the other hard. Her skin was already slick with sweat, Valarr’s face slipped slightly because of it, making her toes curl as his mouth pulled on the bud before lifting back up again.
When he switched and clasped his lips to the other, she couldn’t help but exclaim, crying out with a high gasp, wordless but overjoyed. She’d been so overworked, so pent-up with nothing to do about. That was fine, it was over now, Valarr had her now.
“Mu-mummy…Gods, yes…” she heard him moan against her chest. It had been a little strange to hear the first few times, but she supposed it wasn’t the weirdest thing in the world, all things considered. She was a bit older than him, anyway, and all this extra weight did make her look very mum-like.
“That’s right…mummy’s here…you’re doing so good…”
Riding that moment of submission, she was able to push him back against the arm of the couch until her arms were on either side of him and her legs were straddling him.
He whispered “I want you, cousin” against her lips as he worked her shorts down her thighs until she leaned in and pressed her mouth to his, secured by his hands grasping her arse.
“It’s bigger than the last time, isn’t it?”
Valarr’s breath caught in his throat, his fingers sinking into her thick thighs and feeling her grind against his manhood through the fabric of his boxers, one last little layer of fabric between them, the anticipation of it making for such sweet torture.
“Lucky for me” he replied, leaning in to kiss her yet again before whispering into her mouth “I like it that way.”
She felt him squeeze her, spread her and bounce her in his hands. Her skin always felt hot and prickled when she was drunk, and having Valarr’s hand groping her arse like he owned it was exactly what she wanted right now, that and much, much more.
“Next time, I’ll turn around and let you unload all over it.”
“You dirty girl…slutting yourself out for me” he groaned against her lips.
“That’s me” Daenys muttered as they kissed, sliding his boxers down his legs and grabbing his cock before adding a “I love being good for you when it means I get fucked like a filthy whore.”
Before she could say more, or even decide if she had more to say, she felt Valarr’s hand travel across her thigh and finger slip into her, teasing her by going in only an inch or so, only a single digit.
“More?”
That wasn’t what Daenys needed though, and she had no trouble saying that.
“Just take it all off and let me bounce on that big dick.”
Nudging his head to the side, she rested her own head on his shoulder and whispered harshly.
“Put it in me. Right now.”
“Daenys, I don’t think…”
Valarr then eyed the linen closet by the bathroom, which Daenys recalled for two reasons: the fact that he had spare towels in them and that kept his condoms behind the handsoap after Daenys’ little brother and sisters went rummaging through his room years ago. The first time, they’d used one, they’d been careful, done it “right”. That was how it should be, surely, safety first and all that. Valarr was quite certain they didn’t need to deviate from that, there was no need to be reckless.
Before he could finish voicing his concerns however, Daenys had leaned back and spread her legs.
Baelor had raised his son to be as controlled and careful as he was, to use his reason and question why he was doing what he was doing.
All of that, however, went out the window as he felt his face flush and his cock harden as he stared at Daeny’s glistening wet pussy framed by a thick crescent of dark blonde.
“You don’t know how bad I need it, Valarr” she whispered, glancing at his hard cock, flushed and ready for her.
The ache was almost unbearable, the emptiness of seeing him all the way over there when he should be right on top of her, shoving himself inside of her and filling her up. His cock pulsing and throbbing as he fucked her until he emptied himself into her. Being here with him was already so nice, but having him, feeling every bit of him with no limits, that would soothe something she was desperate to sate and nothing else would do it.
And when she met her cousin’s gaze, she merely told him “it’ll be alright…I promise…Mummy wouldn’t lie to you.”
Maybe caution wasn’t always the right move, Valarr told himself as he took a deep breath and massaged Daenys’ thighs.
Slipping her shorts off her ankles, she all but pounced on him and had his underwear off in seconds, his length pressing warm to her stomach as she pulled him into a tight hug and kissed up and down his jawline.
Throwing off the last of his clothes, he was absolutely gorgeous to look at for Daenys, black hair down to his shoulders with that single wide lightning bolt of white-gold, dark curls down his sturdy frame, heavier around his chest until it gathered thickest around his cock.
Taking him to the floor, Daenys lay down on the sheepskin rug and let Valarr climb on top of her.
“Tell me again how bad you need it.”
She could see in his face that he’d shaken off whatever had held him back before. She liked him this way, she wanted him let loose for now.
“I need you to bury that huge cock in me and make me forget how fucking miserable I am without you.”
He threaded his fingers with hers and planted kisses across her collarbone, promising it without a word of agreement needed.
“Oh…” she moaned out softly as she felt Valarr against her clit, his tip sliding against the bud as they moved.
Placing her palm beneath his balls, she closed her hand and felt the heat against her fingers as she squeezed.
“Gods, they’re fucking huge…they’ve gotten so heavy waiting for me, haven’t they?”
She reached up then to his shaft, reminding herself how he was too big to even fit more than halfway in her hand. She let her mouth open as she glared up at him, letting him see the satisfaction in her face and enjoy it. Her cousin wouldn’t have the troubles
other men would, he wouldn’t leave her unfulfilled.
By then, Valarr was so sensitive, any touch at all was enough to drive him mad, exhaling with a pleased growl and a heavy swallow.
“Is it time?” she asked expectantly.
Valarr nodded once, briskly and eagerly.
“Let’s…do it.”
All it took after that was a simple push, Daenys guiding him in with her hand and locking eyes with him. Slipping into her easily, Valarr’s mouth hung open tremorously for a moment, silent still when he bottomed out until he gave up a deep, clipped grunt and a quiet “D-D-Daenys…Gods, fuck…”
Fisting the fibers of the rug beneath her as she felt his thickness stretch her, Daenys stared up at her with heavy eyes, feeling her heartbeat drum in her ears, so full she felt it from her cheeks down to her feet. It was unspeakable how amazing he felt when she felt herself pushed open when he first went in, and she got that same bliss every single time he drove into her again.
It was almost overwhelming, feeling everything this time, the warmth and the pressure around him, as well as seeing Daenys bounce against him with each thrust or her eyes fix on him.
“So…so good…” she murmured “you feel ssssoooo good like thisss…”
Valarr replied with a nod, unable to speak and keeping that same slow pace. What was there to say? Nothing he told her then could ever get across how amazing this was for him.
For just a moment, Daenys glanced out the window at the night sky outside. It was dark then, dark enough for her to look behind her cousin and watch his arse flex with every snap of his hips, his muscles contracting and relaxing as she felt him drive into her. She saw the outline of his spine against his flesh as he bent forward, hanging his head and letting his hair fall into his face, she saw her fleshy middle bounce as he shoved his arm underneath her and pulled him up, then she turned her eyes back to him and met his gaze, and in that moment, was overwhelmed.
“Cousin…I don’t want anyone else…ever again.”
Her voice was choked, her body was coated in sweat, with Valarr’s white streak tickling her nose as it hung down in a messy bunch.
“You can have me…why would I give up my dream girl?”
Valarr pulled Daenys closer still, letting her slip her tongue into his mouth and her moans slip down his throat as he pushed up into her.
He was rougher then, the kind of ferocious wonderful fuck that Daenys had come here yearning for, her nails clawing at his back as bore down. Her face fell away from his, leaning her lower half into him as she threw her head back.
“Don’t pull out until you’re fucking empty, I want to feel you shoot it all into me, I want to feel you inside me all fucking week, Valarr.”
“Gods, I’m going to pound my cum into you, I’m going to make you BEG for it.”
“Ooh, yes, fuck, yes, yes, YES!!”
The room echoed with the wet rhythmic sound paired with Daenys’ shallow breaths and Valarr’s choked groans. It was everything she had dreamed of, everything he had ever desired, perfect in a way that they could never speak of because nobody would understand.
Locked around his waist then, Valarr could feel her legs shaking, her mouth open wide as her hair swept across the rug and beads of sweat fell from her forehead.
She could feel it before he said a thing, his thrusts growing erratic, his grip growing less firm.
“I’m so close, I’m so, so close…”
At that, Daenys sounded more desperate than ever, begging for him to go on like she never had before.
“Give it to me, cum in me, I need it, I need you to fill me.”
He didn’t pull out, there had been no danger of that, not backing off at all. Just like Daenys wanted, he kept himself deep inside her with those last thrust, letting every inch of himself get clenched down on as she eased him the last little way to his peak.
With a strained grunt a minute later, Valarr let go, pleasure washing over him as he came, a release of days and days’ worth of pressure in a few brief moments.
Daenys felt her heart flutter all that time, every pulse and swell of his length inside her as heat flooded into her. She held him there, no matter how badly her body wanted to go slack and just take it all, but she kept herself cleaved to him despite that, cheek pressed to his quivering chest. By the end, it was streaming down his shaft and seeping out of her onto his groin, dyeing the coarse hairs white as it stuck.
They stayed as they were for a moment, exhausted and astonished at what had just happened.
“Oh…that was…” Daenys said, trying and failing to sum up how good that had been.
“Yeah…” Valarr said with an air of agreement, having no better luck than she’d had.
He sat up then, Daenys still hanging onto him as he caught his breath.
“I wasn’t too rough, was I?”
“No, no, not at all” Daenys panted back “it’s alright, everything’s alright.”
“Good…good…” With that, he stood up and offered her a hand before helping her steady herself. Helping her back to the couch, Valarr noticed the inside of her thigh was painted slick, her and him stuck to her skin.
“Oh…Sorry, I didn’t think it was going to be so much…”
Daenys chuckled softly, not expecting him to apologize for filling her like she’d wanted and then some. Not exactly something that immediately came to mind as a brag, but she was certainly impressed with her cousin.
“Don’t apologize, silly” she replied as she stroked his cheek “I wanted it to be a lot…my man is an absolute stud like that.”
Valarr hadn’t expected how good that made him feel, he hadn’t really expected her to say something like that at all. Truthfully, he didn’t feel like much of a manly man, shorter than a lot of lads and certainly not much of a success with most women. If Daenys liked it though, if such a gorgeous girl with a body like hers thought he was good enough to not want anybody else, what did it matter?
Seeing the same tired look in her eyes that he felt in himself, Valarr helped her up and took them both to bed, pulling back the duvet and helping her into the bed.
Daenys had been looking forward to this, remembering how soft his sheets were, hearing the story of how he’d splurged on them a year or so ago and then seeing what he meant the first time she’d slept over. She already knew them to be comfy, but in the state she was in, it was almost heavenly.
“Let me get you some water, see if we can’t keep ourselves from spending the morning hung over.”
“Thanks” she said simply, dozing off and not realizing he was back by the time she heard him leave.
It looked like almost too large of a cup, but she trusted him when he told her to finish as much as she could before she fell asleep.
Pulled close when he joined her in bed, Valarr felt limp, totally at ease when he had to be tense and controlled with everyone else. Between that calm and how tired Daenys had left him, it truly was such a pleasant change of pace, having her right next to him as he shut his eyes.
“Can we still spend the morning in bed?” Daenys asked.
Valarr pulled the covers high over them while Daenys slotted her leg between his.
“If you’re staying here a while longer, I don’t plan on going anywhere.”
“I’ll be right here, trust me” she told him with a kiss to his temple before laying her head on the pillows.
Daenys didn’t dream about death that night, she didn’t dream about joy either, merely closing her eyes and not seeing a thing until the next day.
She supposed that was some kind of magic Valarr had that she could have wondered at, but she preferred instead to leave it at just a part of what made her cousin priceless to her, that darling boy fast asleep next to her.

The next morning, they were woken up by Daenys’ father calling her. Of course, he had to use his stern dad act, demanding she get back to Summerhall on the first train and not even dare stopping for a drink. He didn’t even bother asking where she was, a doubled-edged sword of hurtful disinterest and being able to avoid having to come up with a cover story.
“-So I want you here ASAP, is that understood?”
“Yes, father.”
“No delays, no nonsense, none of your shit, your grandfather will be here tomorrow and you will be here to greet him, are we clear?”
“Mhm. Yes, father.”
“And don’t you dare show up drunk, Daenys!”
“Wouldn’t dream of it” she replied with a wry smile on her face, which did not go unnoticed even over the phone.
“Don’t get smart, I am in no mood, just say you understand and do it.”
Perhaps her father wouldn’t have been quite so brusque if he knew there were other people listening in, but there was quite a lot on at the moment that Daenys’ father didn’t need to be made aware of. Maekar didn’t need to know she answered the phone in Valarr’s bed, naked, with her cousin flipping over and staring at her and playing with the sandy blonde hair spilling messily down her back.
“I understand, father.”
“Good. I will see you soon.”
The moment the call cut off, she set the phone down and threw her head into her hands.
“Ughhh….fucking prick…”
Valarr sat up then, hurrying over to comfort Daenys as best he could.
“I don’t know what his problem is” he remarked.
“Jealousy, anger issues, disappointment, take your pick” Daenys replied coldly “always something he needs to make everyone else’s problem. “
“Sounds about right…” he replied, remembering all her stories and his own experiences with his coldness and gruffness besides.
Daenys wasn’t finished yet, however, spitting back “He wouldn’t care about my drinking if he could keep it secret, you know, he’d just let me have at it and not give a fuck about WHY ever in his life!”
Seething by then, she wondered if there was any possible way she could have had a worse wake up call. At least Valarr had made the right call, giving them both enough water to mostly dodge the agonizing headache they’d otherwise have to contend with.
Meanwhile, Valarr noticed his own phone on the bedside table, remembering the video call he had to take that evening. Fuck, today was not going to be easy, he told himself with a frustrated exhale.
“I’m sorry, Daenys.”
Daenys glanced at Valarr and sighed. Remembering where she was, she decided to not let her father ruin their last few hours together. He deserved better than her annoyance spoiling their time together.
“Well…At least you care…”
She leaned over and rested her head on her cousin, relaxing as he wrapped his arms around her.
When he hugged her, it felt both gentle and firm, delicate enough for how raw she felt and yet strong enough to make her feel secure with him.
“I don’t want to go” Daenys mentioned, cutting through the quiet the city barely audible through the window.
“I don’t want you to go, either” he responded quietly as he rubbed her shoulder, feeling her lean into his face and requesting a kiss without speaking.
His lips were soft against her shoulder, she felt like she could shatter at any moment and he was being so careful with her. Why couldn’t everyone be this careful? But then, she supposed her cousin wouldn’t be quite as special, would he?
She reciprocated as best she could, brushing the back of her hand against his cheek and then moving down to his forearm, the same simple kind of affection he’d been giving her.
It dawned on them both then how awful this felt, the minutes ticking away. They’d been able to say goodbye easily before, that they’d see each other again whenever and have their fun. Today though, thinking about Daenys having to go, it felt miles more difficult. It hadn’t been this hard before, maybe it was never meant to be. Still, here they were.
On a whim, feeling like she had to do something, she grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently.
“I really do love you, Valarr” she reaffirmed “I…I don’t know if that’s weird or not, but it’s true…”
She realized she’d said that without thinking, unsure if she’d actually said the words before. Maybe if emotions were running higher this time, it was only natural, let him know how she felt.
This time, there was no hesitation in Valarr’s voice. After last night, there felt like no need to be nervous anymore.
“I don’t care if it is, personally, it doesn’t matter…I love you too.”
Turning to face him, she looked so pleased to hear it, smiling wide though she should have known he felt that way. It hardly mattered anyway, as he smiled back at her, there was nothing to be embarrassed about either way.
They kissed as they had so many times before, chuckling softly through the smack of their lips when they met,yet it felt different this time. With the tension melting away, all the stress and frustration banished so simply, it was more than before, passion added onto the same act. Something about yesterday, some line they crossed or just everything, something had changed.
Rolling on the mattress without breaking away from one another, Valarr’s hands wandered below her waist as Daenys’ nails dug into his back, sharp breaths and moans filling the bedroom.
“You’re so good for me…” she said as she kissed his chest, low enough that she could bite down and leave a mark after without any chance of it being seen later.
When she leaned into him, Valarr in turn lifted his hand and gave her a good spank, stinging enough to make her yelp in surprise but not hard enough to distract her for long.
After a little while, their hearts were racing, eyes met as they lay curled together and wondering what came next.
When a thought popped into Valarr’s head, he wasn’t sure if he was another bit of madness or as perfectly rational as anything Baelor would advise him on…more or less.
“Lay back.”
“What?”
“Lay back, let me…I want to…”
She didn’t question him any further, letting him nudge apart her legs and make space for himself and watching him dip his head between her thighs. He started gently, kissing the inside of one and then the other, working his way up until she felt his breath against the seam of her cunt, enticing without touching.
“You don’t…have to…”
“I do” he replied, his face brushing the coarse hairs between her legs “for you, I really, really do.”
It seemed so reasonable, he hadn’t repaid his cousin yet, she was going to have to leave soon. Why in the Seven Hells would he let her go without having made her cum as good as she’d made him cum? Spreading her with his two fingers, Valarr wasted no time. He started with the flat, the painted circles about her sensitive spots, once or twice at a time, sliding his hand around to squeeze her arse as he did.
With the first lap of his tongue, he’d drawn a moan from Daenys’ mouth and made her whole body quake.
Gods, he’d gotten so good at this, spreading her and using his fingers just the way she’d taught him.
“Gods…fuck, don’t stop, don’t…” Daenys drawled out, running her hand through Valarr’s hair.
She deserved this. If their time was running out, there was time at least for this, he could at least make her feel good before they needed to go.
Sending his cousin writhing and panting, Valarr kept his tongue buried between the folds of her cunt, straining to breathe as she rocked her hips and pressed her body to his face, letting him drown in the creases and curves of her thighs.
He loved the taste of her, sweat and arousal and cum all together every time his tongue passed across her clit and down to the hole, letting her fuck his tongue as he grabbed hard onto her legs.
After a while, he returned his fingers, turning his head up to suck on her bud again as he pumped his fingers into her. “Oh, Val, oh Gods…” she whimpered when he gave her three fingers to full match the thickness of his cock and got deep enough to really satisfy.
“A-about to…about to cum…..” she gasped out, the pressure growing until she felt like she would burst.
Hearing that, Valarr didn’t change a thing, keeping that same rhythm and slowly letting her build to the point of being undone. It didn’t take long for Valarr to take her over the edge that way, unable to resist even if she wanted to.
“Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods, YESSS!!!!” Daenys keened as she came unraveled, her muscles tensing and her walls fluttering as she coasted through wave after wave of pleasure.
She was seeing stars when it was all over, her breathing was ragged and her forehead was damp with yet more sweat thanks to him. When she let him go, he kissed her one final time, a long savored planting of his lips to her core before let himself be finished.
The air condition fans turned on with a low hum right after, bathing her naked body in much-needed cold, though it took only a little before the chill became too much.
Valarr climbed up to lay beside her, with Daenys scooping him up into a tight embrace as soon as she could. He felt it too, covering them both and sharing the pleasant warmth in his cousin’s arms.
“Let’s go away soon, Dorne or Fair Isle or something” Daenys suggested “just you and me, someone nobody knows us and we just enjoy ourselves.”
“I’d like that…although I don’t know how we’d explain it.”
“We could fold it into some business thing or whatever the fuck” she suggested “you could be doing the charitable thing, watching out for me and making sure I don’t go too crazy in front of clients.”
“I’d be a hero to both our fathers, I’m sure” Valarr laughed as he threw his arms around her “grandfather, as well, I’m sure.”
“And then…” Daenys added with a smirk “...we’d have the rest of the time to ourselves, wouldn’t we?”
Valarr lay on his side and nestled his cousin against him.
“Sounds like a plan.”
They spent as long as they could curled together in his bed, every minute that they could be laying together, bare skin on skin, they used. There was nothing more they wanted, really, nothing that felt more worthwhile. They could have gotten up and done something together, used the time to talk or eat lunch or go again, but there was just something about the peace of holding each other that was just too serene to pass up.
When time was up though, there was nothing more Daenys could do but slip her clothes back on and grab whatever she needed. She’d brought a spare outfit, a comfy shirt and easy pants that would be perfect for the trip back. It was only early afternoon, but the train down to Summerhall would take all day, so this seemed like the only way.
“Well, this is everything, I guess” she said as she threw her bag down by the door.
“Yep, looks like it” Valarr answered after a quick sweep of the bedroom.
Seeing her standing by the door, Valarr froze a few steps from him, frowning as he was confronted with the fact that Daenys was leaving any minute now. His cousin had the same feeling wash over her when she saw him turn the corner. They were busy packing up before that, but now that it was imminent, the whole flat felt like it had darkened.
“So…” Valarr began without any idea of how to proceed from there.
“Yeah.”
After an awkward moment, Valarr spoke up again.
“Do you want me to take you to the train station?”
“No, no, it’d…” she faltered there before taking a second and adding “it already sucks so fucking much to leave, I can’t do it in front of the whole station.”
“I understand.”
She felt bad, but knew it was for the best, not prolonging this misery after such a wonderful night and a happy morning.
“That came out wrong, I just…”
“It’s ok. I get it. It’s not…I know you weren’t trying to be mean.”
“Yeah, I wasn’t.”
At least he didn’t take offense, Daenys thought, she was already handling this badly, she wasn’t sure what she’d do if she’d hurt his feelings and then just had to leave it like that.
Valarr could see what she meant. He didn’t have his own car anyway, now that he thought about it, he’d just be sitting next to her as they got driven there before he was taken back. He wasn’t sure why he’d even offered, he felt so lost then, an unfamiliar feeling for him.
Just after, Valarr opened his arms.
“Can I at least…I don’t know…”
He didn’t need to say anything else, she hurried over to him and almost collapsed into his arms. She breathed in against his body, trying to remember every detail so she can at least have the memories when she was back home.
“Come back. Please” he whispered, begging in a wavering voice.
“As soon as I can” Daenys confirmed, swelling hard as she did, “I swear.”
Valarr would have felt ridiculous with anyone else there, his eyes red and teary, but Daenys wasn’t anyone else. Hers were the same, tear-soaked and deep purple ringed with pink, though Valarr couldn’t be sure if her sharing his sadness was better or worse.
They kissed, then again, and again and again and again, ignoring the sharp breaths, ignoring the tears, ignoring everything. There would be plenty of time to cry, they knew that much, but these last minutes couldn’t be that. They were only stopped when Daenys’ phone pinged and she checked it quickly, the look on her face confirming that it was time for her to go.
“I think…my ride is here.”
“Ok…ok.”
Stepping through the door and into the dim light of the hallway, her footsteps muffled against the carpet, she wrestled with saying fuck it and just turning on her heels and staying.
As she walked to the lift, he wanted to tell her to “come back soon” another time but he would have felt silly repeating himself.
Instead, he just told her “I love you” one last time. That at least he could say without feeling stupid, he could say it a thousand times and not be ashamed.
Daenys balled her fists and looked up at the ceiling quickly, holding back the tears before replying “I love you…I’ll see you…whenever” and stepping into the lift, the door closing a moment after.
And then, silence, for them both if nobody else. The machinery hummed as Daenys headed down, faint voices could be heard on other floors in other units, but it felt like the sound had left the world.
Valarr sighed and turned around, shutting the door softly before sinking onto the couch. On the table beside him, two empty cups and rubbish in a bag. He’d have to clean up eventually, get rid of everything, but not yet. It should have just been a minor chore, but he well and truly didn’t have it in him then.
He could have called his father, but that wouldn’t have done any good. Baelor was wise, but this, these feelings, he had no help to offer his son. What good was data or analysis or wisdom when he was all alone now?
Hearing his phone vibrate, he picked it up and looked at the message.
Father: Let me know if you need me to send any more of the Q3 reports, talk soon.
Letting the screen go black, he saw himself in the reflection, composed but heartbroken inside. Baelor’s next in line, his go-to guy, and every word of it felt hollow. Everything vital in him felt like it went with Daenys, he was just left with cold business and an empty flat.
He’d text her, call her, whatever worked, anything to keep her with him by phone if he couldn’t have her right there with him until she was back. That would make the best of it, the wisest decision he could make to get back some fraction of the joy being unwise gave him.
Meantime, Daenys watched Valarr's building shrink into the distance before they turned a corner and it disappeared from sight. She kept it together on the cab ride over to the station and was able to avoid too many tears in the train car, though she’d gone for a private room so she was able to just lay down and let it out if she needed to. She still had the scent of his flat in her hair and the collar of her shirt as she curled up in her seat, though she really wasn’t sure if that was a curse or a mercy. She felt exhausted, but every time she felt herself drifting off, that uneasy feeling came over her, the prelude to another nightmare. She’d just have to show up knackered, then, her father didn’t say anything about that. That night though, she was sure she was in store for a bad one, she could tell by now when it was coming.
At least she knew that she’d always be welcome at Valarr’s. All she needed to do was say she was on her way and he’d do anything to be there to meet her at the door.
Until then, they could dream of each other and wait for it to come true again. That much, they could be sure of, it was only a matter of when, and that would need to be consolation enough.
