Work Text:

"Magnus!" Alex stumbled into the room and shouted. "We've got a problem!"

He was about to turn around before he remembered what day it was and averted his gaze. Why would she see him now? Out of all times? Magnus squeezed his eyes shut and tried not to look at her.

"Alex," he hissed, eyes still shut, "are you kidding me?"

She sighed and spun him around, staring at his face scrunched up in veiled annoyance.

"I just don't feel..." she trailed off and looked down.

"Don't feel what?"

"I don't feel like a girl today."

Finally, Magnus opened his eyes to gaze at his fiancé. She- no -he looked stunning with his emerald-black hair framing his face. But the most important thing was his clothes.

The ornate, white wedding dress.

The dress that he didn't feel comfortable wearing on his wedding day.

"I - I'm sorry, Magnus, I just can't wear-" he gestured to the dress, "this."

He turned and sniffled a bit, mascara smudged slightly, a tear sliding down his cheek. Gods he looked heartbroken!

"No! Don't cry, it's ok!" Magnus reassured him a bit frantically. "I'm sure we can find you a suit or something!"

He licked his thumb and gently wiped away the smudged makeup on Alex's cheek. He'd love him no matter what gender he wanted to be. Alex stared into his stormy gray eyes before kissing him.

"Thank you," he mumbled into his lips.

"Of course, Alex." he sighed. "Whatever you like."
