Chapter Text
The last thing he remembers is the pain. He’s well aware that the wound is in his shoulder, specifically his trapezius, but whatever the biological component of this curse is is searing its way through his circulatory system, vicious flaming frostbite. He’s aching and torn asunder, the agony both acute and dull, layers upon layers of rigid and unforgiving transformation.
The nervous system of the mouth is incredibly technically complex, insomuch as that you can have a toothache centered in an upper left molar and feel the throb in the bottom right side of your jaw. The memory of a loose tooth torn from his mouth by thread, a slammed door, and a big brother comes to mind as his canines evolve like an earthquake, his new teeth piercing through his bottom lip as he bites it in an attempt to stay quiet, to not frighten Cassandra in the next cell over any more than she already must be.
The last thing he remembers is the pain. And the bright eyes keeping watch from the other side of the iron bars.
