So It’s Gonna Be Forever (Or it’s gonna go down in flames)

Summary:

It’s not exactly a shotgun wedding, but Dean’s definitely getting married to Cas a little sooner than they’d planned. It’s all good though. Cas is the love of his life. They had a lot of fun making the baby that’s coming in five months and he’s looking forward to a lot of hot married sex without having to sneak around. He’s just worried that Sam’s about to make a big mistake.

Sam meets Lucifer at Dean’s wedding to Castiel. Sparks fly. Sam knows the Alpha is trouble as soon as he walks in. Sam doesn’t care. He wants the Alpha and he doesn’t want to wait. Sam’s going to get his man.

Or the story that’s just an excuse for Sam and Dean to be horny and get the knots they want. Porn with the barest excuse of a plot smeared on top. Hopefully some nice, good, wholesome smut.

Chapter 1: Knew you were trouble when you walked in

Chapter Text

Sam was twenty-one when he first met Lucifer.

Dean was getting married to Cas, who was part of the sprawling Shurley pack.

It was one of those kind of weddings. Hurried. A lot of hushed tut tuts from the local gossips. Not quite a shotgun affair, but Cas Junior was going to be one of the biggest healthiest babies you ever saw that only had a five month gestation. John would have been a lot more pissed off about that except for the chance to make a match with the much bigger Shurley pack. The Winchesters had money, the Shurleys had connections. It was a match made in Heaven as far as John was concerned. Mary was just pissed. Cas walked around with a black eye for a week after she found out that he’d sullied her oldest baby boy. If you knew one thing about Mary Winchester, you knew that you didn’t mess around with her boys. In the end, she relented because Dean was in love and so was Cas, more in love than Dean even.

Dean didn’t even really show that much yet, just a little thickening around the waistline. Tonight, for the rehearsal dinner, he was wearing a loose light blue linen suit and you couldn’t even tell he was four months gone. And if you could, well, you weren’t going to say anything about that at the festivities, not with the way Cas was staring at Dean like some moon-eyed calf and the way Dean was grinning like he’d won the lottery as Chuck Shurley was giving a boring speech about two families uniting that Sam wasn’t really paying attention to. Sam was bored.

It wasn’t even a good meal, but something at a hotel banquet room with rubbery chicken and overcooked green beans. The first course salad had been pale iceberg lettuce and pink tomato slices drowned in dressing. No one was paying any attention to him, not that he wanted them to pay attention to him stirring his food around on the plate, not eating it, wondering if he could get away with stealing a glass of white wine and pouring it into his water tumbler.

He was twenty-one and never been kissed at least party because he’d spent as much of his first decades of life with his nose to the grindstone of school, in hopes that John would let him go to college, make something of his life beyond finding someone to get married to. No such luck. No Omega son of John Winchester was going to destroy his womb with higher learning or whatever. At least most people no longer did arranged contract matings anymore. He’d be allowed to find a love match, he’d been told. Assuming it would be a suitable match- a nice Alpha boy from a good family.

Keep your eye open at Dean’s wedding, John had said. They said that Michael, Chuck’s oldest son and eventual heir, was currently unmated. Not that he should throw himself at Michael like some trollop, but you never knew what a sweet smile or two might do. There were plenty of eligible Alpha Shurleys running around and he could do a lot worse than a Shurley. Gag.

Chuck had wound up his speech and Michael had gotten up to do a toast or something when Lucifer walked into the banquet hall.

Of course, he didn’t know it was Lucifer then. His eye couldn’t help but be drawn to the Alpha as he strode into the room on a beeline for the head table. Sam knew he was trouble, that was clear. He was dressed head to toe in black leather. Motorcycle gear, Sam thought. He was still carrying a black helmet and his blond hair stood up all over the place like it’d been plastered under the helmet for hours, then been finger combed. Everyone else in the room was in dress clothes, suits or dresses.

Engineer boots on his feet. If the floor had been hardwood or something besides ugly hotel carpet, his steps would have reverberated through the whole room. His black leather jacket was one of those cafe racer style jackets that zipped up to the chin in the front. No embellishments, no metal hardware other than the zipper. He unzipped it as he walked across the room, revealing a black t-shirt and a silver amulet style necklace around his neck on a black cord. His leather pants were tightly fitted enough that Sam could see that he dressed to the left and that he was huge. He was far enough away that Sam couldn’t get a sense of his scent, not with all the people in the room. He was maybe thirty, muscular and sturdy looking, his thighs were meaty looking, like he could smash a watermelon between them. He was pretty much the hottest damn Alpha Sam had ever seen. Sam bit his lower lip without meaning to.

The Alpha caught Sam’s eyes, noticed Sam checking him out and he winked. Then he turned away and continued his walk to the front of the room, not paying attention to the fact that Michael was still talking. Michael wound the toast up quickly when he realized who was approaching the head table and there was a mild cheer and ‘here, here’ as people drank from their raised glasses.

The Alpha reached his destination and he pulled a very surprised Cas out of his seat with one hand, then swept him into a bear hug that involved a lot of thumping on Cas’s back.

“Lil’ Bro, congratulations,” he said. “Looking good and your spouse to be too.”

“Lucifer! I thought you couldn’t make it,” Cas said.

“Surprise! I got a chance to sneak away, so I took it,” Lucifer said. “I wasn’t going to miss my little brother’s wedding if I could help it. Oh, hey, while I remember it. Wedding present for you two lovebirds.”

With that, Lucifer pulled a wad of bills from an inner pocket of his leather jacket folded into a gold colored money clip. It didn’t look that impressively thick, but the outer bill at least was a hundred and unless Sam was mistaken, the money clip was real gold. Lucifer tucked the whole thing into the breast pocket of Cas’s suit and hugged him again. Sam almost missed seeing the other part of Lucifer’s gift. During the hug, Lucifer passed a plastic baggie to Cas that looked like it was filled with marijuana, something that definitely still illegal in this state. Cas slipped that into a different pocket in his jacket before letting go of Lucifer. Other Shurleys descended on Lucifer, leading him away for hugs and welcomes.

As soon as Sam had finished as much of his meal as he could tolerate, he thought about up from his seat, intending to head out to the terrace, listen to the sounds of the night from the wooded park next door to the hotel, and definitely not think about how much he wanted to kiss the new arrival to the party. Some of the hotel staff was setting up a small dance floor in the middle of the room while other people were clearing away plates, moving tables away towards the wall to open up the center of the room. Never mind that there would be dancing tomorrow night at the wedding, there was supposed to be dancing tonight too. There’d be a live band at the wedding, but tonight, only music from a playlist over a sound system.

Instead, Sam lingered at his chair while the dance floor was set up. Every now and then, his eyes would catch Lucifer’s for a moment. He had blue eyes, like Cas did, but while Cas’s were deep blue, Lucifer’s were light blue, like the sky on a summer day. It wasn’t fair that an Alpha could have such pretty eyes, while Sam ended up muddy, changeable hazel eyes that couldn’t decide if they wanted to be brown or green. Sam thought some of those grin’s on the Alpha’s face might have been for him but it was hard to tell with the way he kept smiling and laughing as he made the rounds with his family, greeting people, hugging them. As people finally started filtering out onto the dance floor and began circling around to slow waltz, he lost sight of Lucifer for a while. Sam watched the dancing from his chair, wondering if any one was going to ask him to dance, other than an obligatory ask from John.

Sam wasn’t exactly an ideal Omega, having shot past the average Omega height of five seven at thirteen and continuing to grow well past six feet. Unlike Dean, who looked a lot like Mary, Sam looked more like his father, big features and strong jawline, which was not a good look on an Omega.

He felt a hand laid gently on his shoulder, then from the side and slightly behind him, a voice, not too deep, amused sounding. Sam turned to look at the source. Lucifer was right there. The Alpha had come to find him.

“Hey, Sammy, wanna dance?”

This close Sam could finally get a scent read on Lucifer. He scented like a summer bonfire, smoky wood fire, but also like leather, hard to tell how much of that was him and how much was his riding gear. Lucifer smelled a little musky and like he was a little overdue for a shower, but in a good way. In a way like Sam would like to bury his nose in the Alpha’s armpit and nuzzle around for a while. It was delicious, like he wanted to take a great big bite of that Alpha. Sam suddenly noticed that he was slicking up, just a little, but he could still scent himself, which meant that everyone else around him would smell it too.

“Can’t,” Sam said, irritatedly, not at Lucifer, but the situation. He’d never wanted to say yes to someone more in his life.

“Why not? You’ve been making eyes at me all night,” Lucifer said. “Am I wrong in thinking that means you might want to get a closer look at the whole package.”

Something in the tone of his voice and a subtle positioning of his body let Sam know that the package in question was the one in Lucifer’s black leather pants. He knew exactly how Sam had been looking at him all evening and he was on board.

“So, get this,” Sam said. “You’ve never been properly introduced to me, so I can’t dance with you no matter that I would give my right arm to be able to say yes. I shouldn’t even be talking to you. I know things are probably different in whatever city you rolled back here from, but my father would kill me if I danced in public with a strange Alpha.”

He prayed to any god that might hear that Lucifer understood that Sam would be more than happy to engage in any kind of dancing, so long as it was in private.

“Oh, is that all?” Lucifer said.

He left immediately and slipped through the crowd of guests. Sam watched as he made his way to the head table again where Cas and Dean were still sitting, talking now with Bobby and Rufus. Lucifer leaned down and whispered something into Cas’s ear. Cas whispered a response. There was a bit of a back and forth for a few minutes and while you couldn’t call it heated or an argument, it was clear Cas wasn’t pleased. Eventually though, Cas got up from his seat next to Dean and followed Lucifer, who was heading right back to Sam.

Cas sighed when they stopped nearby Sam, then said, “Against my better judgment. Samuel, this is my brother Lucifer Shurley, my father’s second oldest son and a member in more or less good standing of the Shurley pack. Lucifer, this is Samuel Winchester, younger brother to my betrothed Dean, Omega child of John Winchester of the Winchesters. Beloved Omega child.”

Cas wasn’t trying to say Sam was a child or underage. It was just as irritating as fuck that in formal language, an Omega was never a son, or for the more rare Omega females, a daughter. They were almost considered to be their own completely separate gender in formal language. An Omega offspring or child, not a son. In practical, daily language, Sam was a son, but etiquette made him other. Cas was only being very polite and in a way that was warning Lucifer not to fuck around with Sam, that John wouldn’t be pleased with that.

“Thanks, Cassie. Appreciate it,” Lucifer said. Introduction completed, Cas faded back to the head table, obviously eager to get back to Dean.

“Well, Sammy, what do you think? Wanna dance? Now that we’re all properly introduced and everything.”

“I’d like that,” Sam said, holding out his hand.

Lucifer took Sam’s hand. His skin was warm, his hands rougher than Sam would have thought with calluses on both fingertips and on the palm. He pulled Sam out of his chair and led him to the dance floor. His movements were smooth, confident, maybe a little too confident. Once on the wooden floor, he stepped right into closed position, resting his right hand on the small of Sam’s back, holding out his left hand for Sam to take in his right hand. Sam thought for a moment, it would be awkward- he had a couple inches of height on Lucifer. It wasn’t. Lucifer wasn’t that much shorter and he had a solid presence that more than made up for the height difference. The music was another waltz- slow, romantic. Lucifer danced with the same easy confidence as he walked. Sam hadn’t expected that. He’d thought maybe Lucifer would dance with the same deliberate plodding that most Alphas did. There weren’t any fancy moves- he didn’t prompt Sam into any twirls or dips. It was just a smooth, graceful confidence that was driving Sam crazy. Sam wanted to dance closer, move their hips together, maybe drop his hands from shoulder height to rest on Lucifer’s hips, but Lucifer wasn’t allowing that. He’d noticed that Sam was trying though.

“If we’re being proper, with introductions and everything, we’ve got to leave enough room for the Holy Spirit between us,” he said with a smirk, as he turned them around a corner. “I know the rules. Chose to break them most of the time, but I know them.”

“You’re better at dancing than I thought you’d be,” Sam said.

“Had a day job teaching ballroom for a while,” Lucifer said. “So, most people call me Luci.”

“Most people don’t call me Sammy. It’s just Sam,” Sam said. Actually, he didn’t mind it so much when Luci called him Sammy. Maybe he was deluding himself, but there was a fondness in his voice when Luci said it.

“I’ll keep that in mind, Sammy,” Luci said. “I’m not most people though.”

“So, day job implies a passion project that doesn’t pay,” Sam said, ignoring the Sammy comment.

“It pays now,” Luci said. “I quit the day jobs a while back.”

“So what do you do then?” Sam asked.

Luci looked at him with a puzzled head tilt that he shared in common with Cas. Then he smiled and said, “I’m a musician. I’m in a band.”

“Don’t let my dad know. I’m supposed to be sheltered,” Sam said. He looked around the room for his father. John was deep in conversation with Chuck Shurley and not paying the slightest bit of attention to what Sam was doing. “Pretty sure a musician in a band doesn’t fall into the category of a nice Alpha boy.”

“Supposed to be sheltered?” Luci asked.

“Well, in reality, I am twenty-one and never been kissed,” Sam said.

“And how sheltered are you in that pretty little head of yours?”

Somehow, when he said it, that wasn’t irritating. It might just be that he said ‘pretty’ like he meant Sam really was pretty. He moved closer to Luci, so they were no longer proper ballroom distance apart. Luci allowed it this time, so they were dancing more cheek to cheek. So Sam could whisper into Luci’s ear.

“I’m down for just about anything. I mean anything. Do you want to sneak up to your room for a little while? My parents are busy with Dean. No one’s going to miss me.”

That was absolutely something he should never, ever do and no nice Alpha boy would take him up on the offer. It was dangerous, not just to his reputation if he got caught at it. He wanted this Alpha though. He wanted him to do all the delicious, dangerous things Alphas were supposed to do. He wanted to be split open on a knot and risk being caught there. He wanted Alpha come inside him, maybe risking making a baby outside of marriage like Dean had. Luci groaned softly and his hand holding Sam’s clenched a little.

“I don’t have a room yet,” Luci said. “Maybe we should do this the right way. I could ask my dad to talk to your dad. No matter what he thinks about musicians, I’m very eligible. I could start…”

“Courting me by the rules? We’d spend three years meeting once a week, always with someone watching us like a hawk. We’d end up married and I don’t want to get married,” Sam said. “Or you could figure out someplace to take me now and fuck me the way you know I want. There’s a single occupancy bathroom down the hallway. Or we could sneak out to the woods next door. You want it too. I can feel it.”

They should probably move apart on the dance floor, but the momentary contact had been enough to ‘inspire’ Luci. Sam could feel the hardness against his body.

“Guilty,” Luci said. “But I don’t want our first time to be in a bathroom. Or getting poison ivy.”

“You say first time as if there’s going to be more times.”

“Oh, trust me, there’s going to be more,” Luci said. “I’m good. You’ll want a lot more than a first time. I’m like potato chips. Can’t have just one.”

“Bet.”
