Work Text:
Green opened the door to the reactor room, looking over at Lime’s mutilated corpse. It hadn’t been long since Orange finally did their first murder. Green didn’t quite care what Orange did, they were fine on their own and more than happy to take the lead. Clearly they were the smart one here. How could Orange have been so stupid. Killing in front of everybody, there was no chance of denying what had happened and Orange still played dumb. Or, maybe, they were just that dumb. Green couldn’t save them, as much as they tried, and Orange was too oblivious to realize the oh so very obvious plan the other crewmates had in mind. There was no chance for Orange to survive longer, and with everybody's guard down, it was the perfect time to strike.
But first, Green had to be a good little intern and clean up this mess.
Green started shoved Lime in a sack, not caring about the awful sight and how messy it was. It was the first time that Green wasn’t cleaning up their own murder. There was a small part of them that enjoyed that part, that they got away with the crime, and then being ordered to clean up the mess they themselves had made. It led to some time alone, being able to properly think about their next move, and admiring their own work in the process. They still had to play smart, though. Just because everybody had their guard down didn’t mean there wasn’t a sense of tension in the air. Green was sure a few crewmates still had suspicions, and while they were patient, they were up against a time crunch, and could not wait for everybody to completely relax once more.
The mop was slowly stained with crimson as Green now cleaned the remaining splatters, not leaving a single stain behind. It was good that Lime is gone, that was a target Green had themself. Despite their supposed insanity, and crazed rambles of a mad person, there was truth in some of their words. They had to go before Lime had any hope of properly suspecting them by making them the main focus, but Green was sure they already had been suspected. Really, who did Lime not suspect as an alien? The problem was the wide range of everybody, and it potentially being narrowed down onto Green alone. Green had hoped that Lime’s recent stunt would have been enough to cast more suspicion on them, Lime made a weapon and snuck up behind poor, innocent Green, of course they’d run and tell the crew about it! If Lime could make a weapon with the intent to kill, who could say in full confidence Lime hadn’t killed someone prior? Yet, Orange seemed to have other plans.
Green gripped the mop harder. Orange just had to keep suspicion off themself. Off both of them. And they were doing fine with that, for the most part anyway. Nobody noticed anything was wrong with Orange until they idiotically decided to kill. How did Green’s puppeteer end up with a bumbling, happy go lucky host who now appeared more competent than the paid Mira employee. With Red as the other example though, maybe it seemed more likely that everybody who worked for said company was an idiot. How did Green ever look up to Red in the first place, they were a total fraud. Green was the smartest thing here. They were confident that it was simply fact.
Green realized they had taken a while longer than anticipated. They dragged Lime away, the body being carried behind them, despite having the strength. Just in case Purple happened to be on the cameras. They couldn’t take any chances… though. Red did say the team was having a party, and Green never saw anybody leave after they did. This could be a perfect opportunity, but how will they do it? Lime was chucked with the other bodies, covered with a tarp, placed next to the other eggs. Another reason why Green was the smartest there, they knew what they were carrying, and that would lead to everybody's demise.
Green stood there in thought, then, had an idea.
They wanted to try something new.
They scurried over to the oxygen room and looked around the place, attention landing on a nearby panel, cover quickly ripped open and peering inside. They didn’t quite understand how the mechanics of the ship worked, but they were luckily a quick learner. Green pulled as many of the wires apart as they could, and noticed the bubbles entering the water above vanished. One of the wires pulled must have been connected to the ship's oxygen, perfect. Green then traced a collection of wires to the internal systems, morphing their body to get a closer and proper look at where the wiring led, a few seemed to be connected to the alarms around the ship. Nobody will miss those, Green was positive about that!
If this worked out, it’ll be an easy victory, proving to themself that they never needed Orange in the first place, that they can take down everybody with no problem. Everybody gets to die unaware of what happened. Painful? Maybe, but that’s not important. While a slower death compared to Green's previous murders, it will be worth it with the amount of people silenced at once.
Green had taken enough time with this, it was time to join the team for the last party they’ll have, and a celebration of Green’s victory.
