Chapter Text
Draco, like every other person on the train at the current moment, was staring unabashedly at the new boy in train cabin 3. He was lithe and short with perfectly tailored and high quality robes accentuating every curve. His hair was long and curly, reminding Draco of his aunt Bellatrix, with the cutest fullest heartshaped lips that draco had ever seen. He was trying his hardest not to stare, but the large glasses the boy adjusted on his face only seemed to make him more attractive. It was clear no one was feeling brave enough to approach, not even Blaise who ever since they reached 16 was more than eager to approach those he considered ‘pretty’, which this boy assuredly was.
“Where did you say he came from?” Draco asked, turning to their resident gossip Pansy Parkinson with a tilted head. “France, Bauxbaton transfer. Apparently it was found he had no legal documents and he actually belongs in Britain.” A round of owlish blinks went around the Slytherin cabin. “What-? His parents snuck him over there…?” The pug nosed girl shook her head, “I heard he was kidnapped by demons-! They got him loose and sent him back.” All looked back at the absolutely gorgeous boy with new interest in their expressions. Demons and demonic magic was one of the darkest one could deal with, to be kidnapped by demons and held almost to adulthood was a feat on its own. They all wondered what secrets such a boy would hold. “What's his name.?” This was met with a round of shrugs and Draco couldn't help the annoyance that immediately flooded through him. So they only knew what everyone else knew, very unhelpful.

Harry couldn't help but sigh, his face pink as he stood with the first year waiting to be sorted. He was transferring in at fifth year levels but apparently that meant he would still have to be sorted by the hat. Thus he found himself surrounded by a bunch of tiny eleven year olds staring up at him like he’d hung the moon. He tried to avoid looking at them, though looking up was no better. Everyone in the hall was looking at him, and while that dark little part of him revelled in the attention the human bits of him couldn't help but be embarrassed.
He could feel it however, his creature magic flaring and preening, drinking in the attention and wanting him to use that attention to get what he wanted, what he needed, to get that especially handsome italian to take him to- Harry shook his head to exile the thought, his fair cheeks turning pink once more. He couldn't act this way here and he lamented once more that this was his situation rather than Bauxbatons. At Bauxbatons they were much more open to other creatures and Harry already had… friends… that helped feed his more carnal needs. Now he was alone and his Ma and Da had been taken. It had been explained to him that the incubus and succubus had kidnapped him as a baby, saturating his magic and making him one of them, but he still couldn't be mad about it, they had loved and cared for him when apparently he had been left on a doorstep for Merlin’s sake.
He sighed when he last first year had been sorted, the elderly Headmaster now standing to apparently announce him, which made Harry’s frustration only rise further, his irritation flaring at the almost mocking sparkle in the older man's eyes as he touched his wand to his throat in the sonorous charm. “And lastly we welcome home a transfer that should have been with us to begin with, formerly Bauxbatons student we now welcome Potter, Harry, to be sorted.”
A sudden silence slammed over the hall at Dumbledore's words, eyes flicking over this certified pretty boy. Most knew Harry Potter as vanquisher of the dark lord and instead they were now being shown a person so lithe and delicate looking, effeminate and unnaturally graceful.
Harry began walking up, wincing slightly when the hall seemed to have broken out of their silence at his movements, an almost uproarious amount of whispers fluttering through the air as Harry sat down on the stool. His emerald green eyes were covered by the brim of the hat and he couldn't help but scrunch his freckled nose slightly as the leather touched his nose, mentally wondering how many people's heads this thing had been on. The hat was completely silent for a long moment before a hum fluttered through his head.
”Interesting, interesting… you could do well in hufflepuff, loyalty and love available in spades with you… but I also see a hunger to be adored and revered… that would do well for…. SLYTHERIN!!”
Harry blinked in surprise as the hat was lifted from his head, the faces in front of him still fixed with shock but also a hint of horror. Harry looked up at the deputy headmistress in question, recoiling slightly at the pale pallor of his skin. He hesitantly rose, spurred faster when the Slytherin table immediately began to explode with applause, a wide mix of excitement but also apprehension on their faces. He was spurred on in his movement when the blonde well built boy he had seen earlier shifted over and gestured to him.
He sighed softly as he settled down, trying not to look as dejected as he felt as he began to pick at the feast that was now released to them.
“Ignore them.” The blonde hummed, offering Harry a handshake, “Everyone will have judgments about The-Boy-Who-Lived no matter what you do. Names Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.” Harry hesitated for just a moment before placing a soft delicate hand into the blonde’s in a gentle shake. He swallowed as he tried to keep his accent lessened, quite unsuccessfully. “Ah, eet is good to meet you, Draco. You may call me 'Arry.” he blushed, with a small huff at how thick the accent came out, the round of almost endeared chuckles rising from around him not lessening his flush in the slightest.
"Pardon, but eef you do not mind my asking, what exactly do you mean by 'Boy-Who-Lived'?" Harry drew back slightly at the immediate looks of astonishment that crossed everyone's faces at his question, even the neighboring table who had obviously been eavesdropping turning to look at him in astonishment. Harry swallowed nervously and his house seemed to shift simultaneously, like something fundamentally changed in their perspective of him as they catalogued away what he asked. “We will explain later.” Draco hummed tactfully.
“For now let me introduce you, this is Blaise Zabini” He began gesturing to the boys closest to him, the handsome Italian first much to Harry’s pleasure. “Theodore Nott” He was directed to look at a dark haired broody looking boy, tall with shoulders Harry couldn't help but want to climb “Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, we are all going to be in the same dormitory” Harry smiled and nodded to all of them, trying to ignore some of the lust that was beginning to float of some of them as well as a pretty blonde girl further down the table.
“Ah Yes. One last announcement.” It seemed the old man was standing once more, a man now standing next to him that Harry hadn't noticed earlier, and likely by design as it seemed the old headmaster was none too pleased to be introducing him at all, his mouth twisted in positive revulsion as he barely tapped the new teacher's shoulder.
“I would like to introduce the new Defense against the Dark Arts professor, Thomas Gaunt.” he said nothing further and the dark haired wizard next to him smiled and bowed toward the students just slightly, his hand over his heart and a peaceful expression on his face. He was handsome, with classical dark looks that spoke of money and power. His hair was cropped short, a trim tight beard on his chin and bloodred eyes looking into Harry’s soul as their gazes caught. “A pleasure to be back to my Alma Mater. I will see you all in class.”
Harry was able to breathe when the older man finally released eye contact, eyes flickering to others, some of whom seemed equally enraptured and some that seemed slightly nervous and wary. He tried to push it out of his mind as he followed the other students back to their dorms, which were in a basement. for some reason. It truly felt as if this school really just seemed to hate children.
