Chapter Text
A brown haired girl sat in a cafe on her phone while waiting on some friends. She was playing Honkai Impact 3rd and had just finished what she considered the main story, after Kiana got the powers of Finality. She heard someone scream and looks up just as a truck barrels into the cafe, sending glass flying, wood impaling someone and a gas line to burst near the lit stove.
She woke in a long line. She didn't remember her name, only that she died. She looks around, seeing a few dozen other lines of people, some dropping down into flames, ice or void, some going up into golden light, others vanishing into nowhere.
"NEXT!" A loud voice shouted, she couldn't tell if it was male or female.
The girl steps up and the... thing looked through a file of sorts. "Oh great, you again... and another one of those weird believers..." The thing says, almost sounding annoyed. "Ones that believe in Anime or Light Novel style reincarnation as their personal afterlife. You know your kind is the most annoying to deal with since you appear almost dozens of times after your first death?!" The thing says, waving it's weird looking limbs. "You in particular are most annoying with how many times you come here!"
"Uhm... Does that mean I'm going to be reincarnated in anime style?" The girl asks a bit nervously as it's eyes locked on her with a glare.
"You are lucky I have to allow you to be, otherwise no." It said flatly before tossing the file down on the desk.
"Actually... before whatever happens, happens. Why does this place look like a weird DMV?" The girl asks as she looked around again. The creature rolls it's eyes and grumbled something.
"Human perception of the afterlife. If enough humans think the afterlife is like the DMV? It turns into that. Now get moving to your section." A door appeared on the previously blank wall and the girl walked through, appearing in another room.
After way too much paperwork promising she would be locked to the next worlds afterlife (unsurprisingly most people don't do the paperwork at all) she is knocked out.
So dark... The girl thought. I wish in my next life I get to be something cute but also dangerous? And if I'm lucky related to someone strong so I don't have to worry about life for a few years...
"Request Confirmed: Changing Race From Human To Vampire [Descendant of Luminous Valentine]... Successful."
Oh why did I just get the shivers? Am I cold? Or did someone just curse me? Oh I hope not, I hate the idea of curses...
"Request Confirmed: Cold Resistance Acquired. Curse Resistance Acquired."
Maybe I could make some kind of Transformation Magic... I doubt I'd have a body I would like when I'm reborn so that would really be useful...
"Request Confirmed: Due to Race [Vampire] having the 'Transform' Intrinsic Skill, it shall be evolved into Unique Skill: Absolute Transformation."
Oh crap what about music? I'm gonna lose that in my next life... That sucks. And my memory of songs is terrible too. I can remember a beat or some lyrics but never the names...
"Request Confirmed: Unique Skill: Musical Memory Acquired."
But... I guess the thing I would want most if this Reincarnation thing is real... Is a way to stop my parent from trying to kill me, or hating me outright... I don't want a bad family...
"Request Confirmed: Extra Skill: Cute Charm Acquired."
The girl slowly fades into sleep again as her vision is filled with bright light.
Luminous was alerted by Louis of a Spatial Skill being used in the heart of the Church. She watches as those inside panicked, most likely thinking it was an attack of some kind by a monster. Luminous herself felt... odd. She had felt a slight drain in her Magicules a few minutes before but didn't think much of it at the time. She had thought a random fluctuation in Magicules could be a side effect of her recent evolution into Demon Lord. But now as she stares down at this baby, and that is what it was that appeared, she felt her own Magicules making up it's body. It was odd and she was about to tell Louis to remove the baby before people thought it was the 'Goddess Luminous Child' but she stares at it's face and decides against it. "Why was it cute looking?" She asks herself, shaking her head and telling Louis telepathically to say it was the 'Goddesses Child'.
People of the Holy Empire cheered and celebrated when the news hit. Their Goddess sent one of her kids to help them! She sighs and retreats back to her Inner Sanctuary on Sacred Mountain. How did a child appear related to her? Were they born from her Magicules similar to monsters born from Magicule dense environments? If so, how were they born in such a low dense magical space? Did it have something to do with that Spatial Anomaly that appeared before? Chloe never mentioned this before. Did the timeline already change? Next time Chloe visited she would let her know but in the meantime...
Louis brought the child to Inner Sanctuary and Luminous finally got a good look at her. She activates Extra Skill: Analytical Appraisal (I know she might not have it yet but it's just an Extra Skill) and scans the baby. It was a girl that much was obvious, she was affected by the spatial skill that was used and Luminous saw her body was in perfect condition with the skill. "Louis, has she fed yet?" Luminous asks and the Vampire shook his head. Luminous produced a small amount of blood and put a few drops in the girls mouth. Her Magicules grew by 500 when she swallowed the blood. "Not named either it seems. Louis, set her down and leave." Luminous ordered, watching the baby as he did so. Once he was gone Luminous walked up to her and thought about it.
While she was scanning her with Analytical Appraisal, she had noticed the girl had a few Unique Skills and an Extra Skill. The Extra Skill: Cute Charm. It makes the user look cute to any parental figure they have, removing most aggression or annoyance. It will not trigger if the parent is punishing the user fairly. That was what made her decide to keep the child despite wanting her gone. The skill had activated when it sensed her annoyance. "I am not the greatest at naming, so you will deal with the name I give you... Luna Valentine." Luminous decided, watching as the baby glowed while the name was carved on her soul. Luna's eyes slowly started to open and looked up. They were a red in color and far more intelligent then they should be even for a freshly named Vampire. The baby reached up and grabbed Luminous' finger before letting go.
Luna, as she learned she was named, was now about chronologically 2 years old but Physically 9 and mentally 19. Naming her had sped up her growth and while she could use her Absolute Transformation skill to become an adult instantly... Luna liked getting pampered by Luminous. She was a surprisingly caring mother. Right now though she was in the church with Louise. Her faster growth made people further believe she was a 'Child of the Goddess Luminous'. She basically got to do anything she wanted with the church, as long as Louise approved it. As the two walked down the halls of the Church Luna stops at a door, finding some Holy Knights training. Louise noticed and the two silently watched from the door.
Unique Skill: Musical Memory had turned on. The sound of swords hitting each other now sounded like music, a Rhythm she could hear and see. She moved away from Louise and grabs a training sword herself. The knights slowly stopped seeing she was there. "H-Hello, could I join in the training?" The 'Child' of their Goddess asked and while many of them wanted to say no, not wanting to hurt her in a spar, seeing Louise watching they agreed just so they weren't given stable cleaning as punishment for letting her down.
"Alright, are you ready?" One of the knights asks, using a wooden training sword as well. Luna nods as Musical Memory activates again. She dashes forward, her Vampire body making her faster then the knights expected and sent a upward slash which was blocked, followed by a few downward slashes like she was trying to hack away at the wood. Luna heard a change in the sound and dashes backwards, tripping on her dress just barely dodging a sword strike. She quickly got back up and in position, her stance was a bit off as she tries attacking. The sound was all off now, almost like it was out of tune. She tried to slash or thrust and she'd get a soft whack by a wooden sword on the back or leg.
She swung hard, hearing a high pitched note and successfully hit the Knight under his armor only to get a smack on the head by a wooden sword. "Ow!" Luna drops her sword and rubs her head, giving a glare to the knight that, from his perspective, looked more like a pout. "You did well for a beginner Little Goddess. Though how did you know to dodge my strikes so well at the start?" The knight asks only to get Luna turning and walking back to Louise. The knight sighs and hopes he isn't punished for that.
As the two walk again Luna spoke up. "Hey Louise... do you think mom would train me how to use a sword?" Luna asks the vampire. Louise thinks about it. Due to the Cute Charm Skill Luna had a hard time being told no. Louise sighs. "There is a chance, though Luminous is very busy quite often." Luna pouts as they walk to the private side of the church.
Luna spent the next ten years just helping around the church, feeding on any humans that snuck into the private section with Louise and Roy watching her to make sure she didn't get injured by a hidden assassin that pretended to be a civilian sneaking into the private section. She had fed on about 40 people already.
Currently she just finished standing in place as an entire Churched prayed to her and her mom and walked down the hall when she went face first into someone's back. She shakes her head and looks up to complain only to freeze seeing the mask. The masked hero... Chloe... Luna thought in a bit of fear. Chloe stares down at Luna through the mask wondering who this was before Luminous appeared. "Luna, I thought I told you to always go to your room to practice after every morning prayer?" Luminous said, flicking her eyes to Chloe. "It's nice to see you again Chloe. I see you've met my daughter."
