Steven loved being an avenger. However he did not love the amount of phone calls he had to make.
“Mark this better be good if you pulled me into front for this.”
“Oh I think you’re going to like this.”
He sighed and picked up the phone.
“Hello, Steven Grant here.”
“Hi… um I’m Shangqi.” He sounded a bit nervous or like overwhelmed. Not a great start.
“So Mark said you wanted to talk to me?”
“Right. Yes. You specialize in history right?”
“Uh-huh”
“Are you familiar with Przewalski's horses?”
“What would be the process if I were to have hypothetically found— Katy what did the last count say?— a herd of around 900?”
There was a pause.
Steven blinked.
“Holy Mackerel! How on earth did you ‘just find some?’
That effectively doubled the existing population.
“Okay okay I was cleaning out my dad’s compound after he died. Along with all the other stuff there was a map and I followed it and I found these guys.”
“I— okay. I can put you in touch with someone who can help with the horses. Um… how much other historical artifacts do you think you have in your possession.”
“Several rooms full at least. You should probably come see for yourself.”
Holy. Shit. That was absolutely worth being pulled into front for.
